Looks to have been muggled. Sorry for the DNF's everyone. Will replace when I can get out there from Mount Isa.
According to my navigator, I found the hiding place at GZ, complete with suitable covering materials, but no cache inside.
With the number of DNFs lately, perhaps the owner could check this one out please.

A quick stop-off at this monument, and after a short search we came up with the goods.

This was our 2nd cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 10:32.
(So this is our 4714th total find.)
A nice quick stop on our way East today. The cache is in fine condition, but the memorial has suffered some vandal damage - pity really!!
Took: Nothing
Left: Padlock
Thanks xr400sim for the hunt today.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 87 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, making our way from Darwin towards Townsville, after stopping for a few days in Mount Isa.
We usually stop at the rest area here, and I took the opportunity to stretch my legs for a very quick and easy GAFF 0 find.
My Groundspeak find No 2833, TNLNSL, dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC, my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB and three other travellers in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

When I reached the cache hiding spot, I nearly heaved.!!!! Do I really want this cache !!!!???Took a deep breath and went for it. Left TB. Took nil. Thanks,(I think), xr400sim.. Silky Seekers brisbane.
We are pleased to report that the pig still stinks and I guess there are a few more months of smell left in it yet. An interesting read, pity someone had to spoil it with a shotgun. Found and took TB MEDHF6 "Key to Happiness" although it wasn't listed in the caches inventory - will log separately. Left a lucky Chinese Feng Shui coin. TFTC. 2BluFish

Wow, that dead pig is really ripe now...........able to find cache easily enough......shoud increase difficulty rating due to the gag factor. TFTC
The dead pig close to GZ put us off looking for this one - hopefully we can grab this one on the way back to Darwin in a few weeks
Nice easy find on our way eastbound back to Brisbane. Very interesting history. Thank you for bringing me here. Cache is in good order. TFTC

Found during our Great Aussie Adventure Road Trip. Signed log: TNGD. TFTC!
Could not help but find this one as cache was laying in open, empty. Signed and Left the only piece of blank paper I could reach in my tightly packed car ( back of mnt ISA map from info centre ) and placed cache in what looked like the most likely original hiding place. Found a rather large hairy 8 legged friend in the process, highlight of my day! Kids are still laughing at mum running back to car!
A quick stop on our way to Cloncurry then northwards to the Gulf. A well constructed and thought-provoking memorial, but it was a shame it had been defaced by morons. Thanks xr400sim.
Some worthwhile words on the sign.
Interestingly there's a plaque unveiled by the same man at Cloncurry airport.
Pity the more redneck element have been active here.

When I saw this site coming up I was very keen to check the place out. Was saddened to see haw it hod been vandalised and left in such a n untidy state. One can have the grandest ideas of public acknowledgement to someone but it can soon be destroyed by those that so choose to be unrespossible, pity that Bob Catter doesn't get of his high horse and organise some restoration work to it as it is a lovely reminder of what has taken place in the past.
Easy find interesting spot to read about the story. Pity about the desecration though. TN left something for the big spenders.
Have been to view the blue lake before but looking for the cache gave us another excuse. No problem but had to watch the mineing muggles camping 50mt away. Thanks again for the opportunity to visit an historical location.
Pity about the condition of the area but still good to find after a pleasant stay at Clem Walton park just down the road.TFTC TNLN.
1587 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1030.The area is much the worse for wear.Isn't it a pity that there doesn't seem to be much respect anywhere these days.We initially thought that it had gone but after searching further it was there.SL visited CacheMover coin and Ranger Guide TB. Tnx xr400sim
just a quick stop heading home from the NT
lived in the Isa for many years

Found this one a few days ago on our way to darwin. A place steeped in history. I sat and reflected after returning cache to its place. Its a shame the mindless vandals have been here. Than ks for making us stop here Left a garnet Garnets
Found after a bit of a hunt.Left a garnet. Read the memorial and sat and reflected a bit,Sad The whole thing was mared by the efforts of some mindless vandals. A good place for a cache TFTC Garnets

This was a fun one. Didn't take too long, but was hard enough to make us feel clever once we'd found it. Thanks.

Thanks for the cache, wouldn't have stopped otherwise, but interesting information there.
Interesting spot that we would not have stopped at if not for a geocache.
TNLN, thanks for bringing us to this spot.
TNLN, thanks for bringing us to this spot.
An interesting place after having spent 15 months working in Aboriginal communities. Thanks for b ringing us here picked up geocoin evolution to move it on
After the GPS stopped sending me in the wrong direction, it was a realitively easy find. This is where I left the geocoin. TFTC
