Stopped at GZ. Disappointed to see it was still disabled. We understand the CO has left the country and it has been 8 months since it was disabled. Time to archive it or fix it!
Have a container, now need to drive down to Wairoa
Thanks for patience

The lookout made us breathless. But we don't want to seek between lots of rubbish.
A trip to Eastland and a couple of caches along the way
Great views but sooooooo much rubbish there

I missed this one yesterday so popped back to grab it and check out the view before heading south from Wairoa to Wellington via Cape Palliser. A quick find here (but disappointing to see all the rubbish nearby). Took TB. TFTC.

I don't know how many times I've driven past on my way to Whakakī to visit the rellies... totally agree... absolute shame about all the rubbish. Fast easy find when I realised I was miles away in prickle central... enjoy the views everyone. I dropped off a travel bug that has come from Lower Hutt... may her adventures carry on...
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Most Christmas holidays involve a road trip of some description and this year is no exception. Today we were travelling from Gisborne to Napier, picking up a few caches along the way. Had to wait for some muggles to move on, but the cache was a quick find after that. Nice view, TFTC!
TB out.

Quick find. I am always pleased, when faced with long grass, that NZ has no snakes. TFTC.
Another quick drive by cache with a good large place to get the camper off the road. TFTC nzkeko.
#4869. We were travelling from Gisborne to Wairoa, passed the GZ area on the right and had to turn back. Good views. Quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Caching with the Seagnoid on our way to Gisborne for the NI National Daffodil Show. Thanks for the cache.
Here with popmac on a geocaching / daffodil trip. Popmac grows daffodils and is taking a bunch to a daffodil tournament thingy in Gisborne with plans to cache along the way, and I came along for the ride.
Two cars here. One full of kids. "No good, " I say, "Buts lets stop for 5 minutes. Maybe they'll leave.". They did. But another car pulled up. However the driver in that one was two busy on his cellphone, so we had no trouble retrieving and replacing the cache. Nice view!

Great views. I have stopped a view times here before.
Real shame about the rubbish.
Real shame about the rubbish.
Almost gave up because of all the rubbish. Found it in the end. The cockroach got back in somehow because it was there when we found it too.
Day two of the July school holidays, what better way to spend the Winter Holiday then driving up the East Coast, looking for interesting caches and climbing up muddy/slippery hills.
Too cold and windy to spend long looking at the view. SL TFTC.

A live cockroach crawled out of the container- not too sure how it got in! We let it out, and then I had to replace the cache- quite hard, as there was a gale blowing! TFTC
Heading still further north on the Geo Licence Road trip and stopped for this one. Nice views over the township

Easy find real pity about the de facto rubbish dump. Too much to trash out i am afraid. A great view though.
Lots and lots of rubbish behind the fence, it is a shame for whoever did that [:(!]
Nevertheless, the cache could be easily spotted after finding the geodetic mark.
Thank you for the views!

Interesting the number of things at our feet. Quite a few survey marks and then the cache found easily. Thanks for the cache and stop. Did with Mycro Man
Initially I thoought this was going to be up high on a bank and require a bit of a scramble - so the find was much quicker than I'd expected. Great view. TFTC.
After a quiet night in Wairoa, a quick find on our way to Gisborne...
Greetings from Switzerland!

This cache was found as part of my epic as move down south to Christchurch from Auckland - A drive that involved around 3,000km, 350 caches, 14 days, and a bit of a detour through East Cape, Gisbourne, Napier/Hastings, some back roads in the Wairarapa, Cape Pallisier and Nelson/Tasman as well as every CANZ cache along the way that I was still missing. (Hence my excuse for the not as interesting log as I usually try to make mine.) But thanks to every awesome amazing as cacher that placed caches along these roads, you made my trip awesome, and very cache happy!
I was told not to stop at Wairoa... as apparently it was dodgy, and since I had all my worldly possessions there, it may not be a good idea. So I didn't stop there, but I stopped outside! And had to wait out heaps of sets of muggles anyways to be able to go for the cache. Seems to be a popular place to stop and take picts. But that was ok anyways, as I realised that I needed to do a switchy of pocket query's on my GPS. It can only fit so many, so time to delete all the upper north island ones, and switch out with the lower north island queries.
Once place was empty, cache was easy gotten.
TFTC!!

Found at 12:04 PM GAFF1 in the company of Phetlern. So that is Wairoa down there is it? A lovely green little place it is indeed. We watched and were careful as we came up from Wairoa - not sure what we had to watch out for though. We heard that the locals can get mean

Driving north in company with Pprass, we passed through vast grazing and agricultural areas, never ceasing to be in awe of the rugged beauty of the coastal scenery. While we looked at the wrong feet, C Prass jumped in and found the cache. Yes, it is a shame about the rubbish!
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt nzkeko.

Greetings from Australia. Found on a great holiday/cache hunt with J+J.au. This trip we intend to only travel about the North island but we will revisit NZ and travel in the South island aswell. We really enjoy the sights in NZ and caching shows us things out of the norm aswell. SL..TFTC
Gorgeous view at night! And we found it when we actually started using the GPS. lol. TFTC

Revisited this cache with 3 friendly young muggles that was introducing to geocaching - they successfully found it on their own as their second cache find, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience Cache in good order and still well concealed. Visited some trackables while there.

Struggled a bit to find this and had my fingers stabbed by some nasty weeds but finally got it after falling into a hidden hole!!!! But in true geocaching form, we plod on!!! TFTC
TFTC From N. Ireland Found after some wrong turns through the undergrowth. Lovely view.
A nice view over the valley, and grass to gz was very wet! Thanks for the stop
That's a quite a view. I don't know how often I have just driven past. Thanks for making me stop TFTC
Came up here this morning in a suit and tie and tried not to get my shoes or trousers too wet and muddy, or snagged on blackberry. Thankfully the petrol tanker parked up here from last night has vamoosed. Found a depression where the cache may have been but not the cache itself. Next time!
Stopped by on our way back to Napier. Great views of Wairoa. Unfortunately we didn't find the cache.
Found this one on the way to Mahia Peninsula. Nice view on Wairoa and the sea! Quick find with no one around.

Yes well we stopped and found this one and son stood at spot while we went to car to write notes and swaps etc. With all the traffic he decided to pretend to pee and got some great waves and toots from passers by!! Replaced cache safely and carried on our Waitangi trip to Mahia. Nice view from up here and gives a good perspective of Wairoa.TFTC
Found 11.1.11
Like others before me ..the challenge is waiting for the parked muggles to leave!
The last one was in no obvious hurry to leave...so in the end I did it right under his nose!
Thanks nzkeko ..it's a great stopping-spot...makes one get out of the car!
