Staying in Koroit, we decided to head for Warrnambool. These gardens are beautiful. I found the signs easily and worked out where to go for WP1, where my poor old eyes struggled to find what I was after. When it was found I then had to read it, and the phone came in handy (I must get some new specs). At WP2 I was a bit dismayed because I could not find a plaque. Bah. Then I spotted the smaller specimen and all was well. I love gardening and gardens, so this multi was a treat.
This cache has been my nemesis and a blue frowny for at least the last 12 years. Back then I was a pretty new cacher with little kids in tow and had no idea what I was doing. We are camping in Warrnambool for the weekend and I finally decided to try again. Even being more experienced now, it was still a challenge as we worked out exactly what was required to get the smiley. Got there in the end. An interesting concept for a cache. Thanks for keeping this one alive so long that it enabled me to come back for it so long later. Happy to get a smiley face today in beautiful Spring weather.
Thank you for this cache after a lot of looking I managed to find wp1 then hit my head on a tree but enjoyed this walk lots of muggles about
In Warrnambool for a couple of days and geocaching is a great way to unwind in my down time.Beautiful gardens that are definitely worth checking out. I sourced the coords for the first part easy enough but WP2 had me. stumped. I messaged CO to point me in the right direction but spotted what I needed before I saw the reply Pic sent and good to log! Thanks for the cache
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We joined forces with FPS for a relaxing stroll around the Botanic Gardens during a lull in the bad weather. Thanks for placing this cache Kia1 LNCU.
FlyingPigSquadron has landed! With thanks to the cache owners for the permission
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Spending a few days in Warrnambool to grab some local. Pretty miserable day but it keeps the muggles off the road. Enjoyed the multi. Thanks for the hideLNCU
I had packed up A'Tuin the geomobile, the geodogs, Gypsy Girl, Teeny Treek, and Mini Michi on board, and we had set off for Warrnambool, where Mrs Dromaniax would meet us later in the day.We had a list of caches we wanted to find today, and having just completed a First to Find, we were back in Colac to find the Multicaches hidden around town. We had completed the data collection task on previous visits, and now was the day to find them all and see if we could finally have a day with six Multicache finds. After a couple of days in Warrnambool, we were on our way back home, but before we left Warrnambool, we wanted to see if we could find another six multicaches in a day. This was the fifth one for the day.It took us a fair bit of time to find the very tiny plaque and we contacted the CO when we spotted it.Thank you, Kia1, for this Multicache. A Favourite Point from us for a cache in a beautiful spot.
Found it , A lovely walk even in the rain. Found the sneaky wp1 and soon after got the required info. Thanks for bringing us to these amazing gardens. Tftc
This took me a long time to find. I had come back to it and eventually found it. Its a beautiful spot to walk around. TFTC
What an epic journey this one was!!! Got the first part no worries but blimey..so message the c/o who put us on the right path. Very very clever and evil mixed into one. Tftc
That was a fun cache! Thanks for the adventure through the gardens. Beautiful and perfect sunny day for 2 weddings on today and a hens party. TFTC.
Found the very small plaque eventually, but had trouble swapping coordinates. Think we did eventually find the correct tree.
This was a really fun cache to follow and find. I loved the gardens, and my favourite part was the bats and the restored well. It was an enjoyable cache that was reasonably challenging and easy to follow. Thanks!
Arrived in Warrnambool for Xmas and was staying nearby so we walked to the gardens and tried to find the plague as we failed the first time. This time the vegetation wasn't quite as thick so found what we were looking for and then GZ was a quick find.TFTC and the excuse to walk the delightful gardens again.
scramping & I are visiting to Warrnambool for a long weekend. These gardens are so beautiful. I am very glad you placed this multi cache here so that we could wander around looking at all the interesting history and plants. I am really surprised there is not an Adventure Lab cache in here (or in Warrnambool at all, so much history and beauty)We did spend quite a bit of time looking for the extremely tiny plaque but eventually I found it. I actually don't know how I managed to see it but very glad I did.We heard the screeching and saw the flying foxes as it was beginning to get to sunset once we finished the multicache. Thanks for setting up this multi-cache for our enjoyment Kia1
Found it with hevwalker, very tricky multi. Thank goodness for eagle eye hevwalker who spotted the the VERY SMALL item we were looking for. A stunning garden.... we walked through the gardens following the instructions and checking out the amazing plant specimens and landscaping. Wow, the trees are so big here, and the flying foxes were incredible both in numbers and sounds. Thanks for bringing us here.
Missed one of the vital clues on this one when I did it last. Back today, quick readjustment and got the needed info. TFTC
We had wedding photos taken here. It was an unWarrnambool-like 40+, but in the cool of the gardens it was only 37. Too hot for some, but it didn’t matter - it was a great day. Thanks Kia1 for bringing me back here
Found on a day spent targeting some caches of interest between Port MacDonnell and Warnambool.
I had been here previously, but the cache was missing at the time. This time changes had been made, so there was some re-visiting required to collect the essential information.
These are lovely gardens!
Thanks Kia1 for the cache.

Thanks for bring us to this lovely garden on a nice sea foggy morning. Didn't read description.
After a nice walk around the gardens, discovering things we didn't even know existed, and finally finding the VERY SMALL plaque, we found ourselves at GZ and sent the required photo to the CO
This cache has been adjusted due to repeated muggle interference.
hopfully this will solve the problem.

I decided to do a road trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. It’s been a long time since I travelled along this area and it was certainly before I was into caching! Leaving the glow worms of Melba Gully behind, today I’m heading further west towards Warrnambool and beyond.
Some very nice gardens and some crafty waypoints. A fav point for your efforts here!

Wow. Thankyou for the great cache. I really enjoyed the walk through the gardens. Deserves a favourite point from us.
Great little hide. Thanks for replacing this one before we leave Warrnambool. TFTC
found gz but unfortunately no cache
such a cool place though, thanks for bringing us here!!
such a cool place though, thanks for bringing us here!!
After having to log a DNF on this one and a little help from Kia we tried again on this one and sure enough it was there!
Finally was able to check this one, rain had washed some dirt over the container making it hard to feel.
all good now, go find.
Cheers.

I feel like we were at the exact right spot! The hint was spot on and the perfect place for a hide but not our day! We want to hope it’s gone missing and not us just way off track
I came back here in the first of a chilly Sunday morning. I returned to the tiny plaque and read the numbers correctly this time. Off to gz where I knew for sure I was right. First name in new logbook thanks. Fav point
WP1 took a bit of searching until I read the hint. Log was an easy find by miss 5. The bats are great to look at and this is a great walk to take with the kids during these uneasy times. Thanks
Time for a stroll around the gardens
So from the top,
I soon had the numbers crunched,
and after crunching the numbers again,
to get a set of coords that were actually in the gardens
I headed off down the hill.
No roses so far !!
Next stop provided a good place that fit the clue.
But discovering the 'plaque' took me ages
It was only when I scratched back some of the ground cover,
I found the nano plaque
After that it was plain sailing to find the tree in question
And the cache of course [^]
TFTC and tour of the gardens ... no roses smelt.

Well this was very confusing, first I replaced the missing container and new log book. Next the new log was reported full, went back with the new log and found the original container placed there as well. The new log had NO entry's in it.
I left the original there and took the new one away. Whew, what;s going on.
Cheers.

In Warrnambool for NYE. The change had swept through and 40 degrees was a distant memory or a sweatier time. I think we had a DNF on this one a few years back, no issues here now, we enjoyed WP2 and GZ needs a new log, but all good. Thanks for the cache Kia1.

We decided to head out to the falls, but geab some caches on our way. The bats are awesome!!! We soon had the cache found, signed and replaced. TFTC
After doing the multi, it was time to have a walk around and admire the trees and bats!! Cigc. Tftc
Stood next that waypoint 3 times. Finally with the help of E and H we found it.

Down this way with Wozzle68 to drop Trixie off for her day of pamper. We walked and gathered info as we went. The bats are pretty impressive! Tftc
We really enjoyed this cache. Not only from the reason to walk around a lovely park, but the history lesson it gave us. We read the geocache notes and the history of the park was interesting. From our walk through the park, we found the Lone Pine. Amazing bit of WW1 history of the local soldier bring back a pine cone for the famous tree. Great to see it growing strong.
With the cache, we found WP1 easy and walk to WP2. We found it tough locating the "very small" plaque. That took some time - trust your GPS would be the key here. The GZ was easy to locate with the clue being spot on. Thanks again, and a favorite for us given the history lesson. Thanks, and took the TB.

A 3 day weekend for both of us meant testing the new swags and caching in areas we both had loads of choice from.
Meeting at Panmure and sussing out where to camp was the 1st priority (Lake Ellingamite), then merged into 1 car and hit the trails.
We changed camping location to near Colac for the 2nd night, less bugs more wind.
We had a wonderful weekend with many interesting finds and locations. Thanks to all the cache owners.

Find # 7286
Found with sharkiefan on a camping and caching long weekend in the South west area of Victoria.
We visited from Mortlake to Port Fairy to Colac to Timboon and everything in between, and finishing up in Ballarat on Monday evening for the Giff event.
An interesting walk and a quick trip to GZ. But here it took a bit to uncover the cache from all the leaf litter.

We've recently been on a road trip from Hobart to Adelaide, and are now on our return journey. Today, we're travelling from Millicent in South Australia, to Johanna in Victoria.
Along the way, we thought we'd stop in Warrnambool to stretch our legs. On our outward journey we stopped at the Lake Pertobe Playground and logged a few caches there, so we were looking for somewhere new to spend an hour or so (ideally with a cache or two to find). A quick review of the caches in the area suggested a visit to the Warrnambool Botanic Garden.
This was a lovely spot, with some truly beautiful flora to admire. Naturally, this cache was not far from our thoughts, so we quickly started ambling towards the starting location. The trail led us on an easy walk through the gardens, past the ducks (our daughter's favourite part of the experience!), and to the cache's resting place. It was easily extracted, and the log signed.
We definitely all had a lot of fun with this one (although, for different reasons!)

OK, all the council works have been completed at WP1.
Now it it all set to go, good luck.

After the CO contacted me and graciously gave me a little hint after my recent DNF the geodaughter and myself came back for another attempt. And sure enough there was the missing piece i was looking for, only cms away from my previous search. Man, don't i feel like a twit! But now with the final numbers in hand we made our way to the GZ where thx to the cobwebs she refused to collect the cache and bravely left it to me! And i was within metres of this tree yesterday too after trying to unsuccessfully google its location but it was covered by the bigger tree next to it!
So finally this simple multi has been completed, thx kia1 for placing and for all your help with me finding it. The walks around the garden were worth it, they are beautiful.

Yes wp1 has me stuck. Spent far too long looking for something i know should be there but blowed if i can see it. Seems every multi i attempt in Warrnambool has me scratching my head and doubting i can count to 10 anymore. Multi tally so far...0!
TFTC. We had been in town for a Motorhome Christmas Party, rather than leave we stayed an extra day to do some more caching. This was the last for the day. We made the calculation at the gate and headed for WP1. We searched high and low and were getting a bit frustrated. We even messaged a previous finder. Then I decided to have another look. Fairies must have put the plaque back.(well that’s our story). The find at WP2 was simple.
A nice walk in the park on a sunny day.
A nice walk in the park on a sunny day.
We did the walk up cardiac hill to find the first information needed and then on to WP1, not this gave us quite a lot of grief. A refresh of colour here may help future finders. We then headed to the final GZ which gave no grief at all. A lovely secluded place to do our business.

Bewdy I found it after a couple of attempts. My stumbly block was WP1 a case of 'seek and ye shall find'. Onto wp2 and success. Cache well hidden but I found it.
Gardens like this are always worth a visit and when there is a multi to guide you they become even more special. I was there early in the morning and must have been half asleep as I was having no luck at the waypoint. Resorted to PAF but my phone was still in the car so a long trudge back. My friend was trying to be very helpful but was really no help. Back again looked more carefully to find what I had missed and off to GZ. Thanks for an excellent tour. A fave for this
Wow finally found this cache after several attempts, on numerous trips to Warrnambool and many hours. Was a great team effort with the whole family. TFTC
Found this one today. I decided that I had better do a multi as the challenge involved multis and since I am spending a bit of time in Warrnambool this month, I could do all the multis around here and work towards completing the Multi month challenge back in Melbourne.
This was my first one of the day and it took me around a very nice park. I stopped and admired the Lone Pine tree and the "money tree" which I hope survives. I was really rusty at caching and every waypoint took longer than it should. I finally found the cache and signed the log. Thanks for an enjoyable cache to explore this park on a beautiful winters day.

Having traveled to Portland for a countdown event for the 2017 Melbourne Mega we had another day to explore the nearby county and find some more caches. Today we joined with Mogni, Aussie M&M and Sir Spectre and headed towards Warrnambool and Tower Hill before returning to Portland for some night caching.
What a great place to have a little walk round. No problems at the start and soon we were heading off to WP1. The large Morton Bay Fig was alive to the raucous screeching of hundreds of bats.
Had a lot of trouble at WP1 but Sir Spectre eventually came up smelling roses and located the plaque. Must admit we were all looking for something a bit different to what we found. Off to GZ where we started barking up the wrong tree until again Sir Spectre came up smelling of roses again.
Thanks Kia1 for a great little multi.

out for the day with aussie m & m, mongi and brisal5. Not to many roses out today but there was plenty of bats in the trees above us. WP1 has us looking for quiet a while but it's there. WP2 was a very quick find.
Out for a day trip with Aussie M & M, brisal5 and sir spectre. A tricky cache that had us looking for a while...
The fruit bats were amazing and loud in the nearby trees, A beautiful location to wander around for a while.

I have been sitting on these solved co-ords for a while now. Having run out of time on our last visit, we were determined to collect the prize today. A short walk through this beautiful setting and we were adding our stamp to the logbook. TFTC Kia1
Got stuck at WP1, no sign of anything there that matched the description or hint.
While in Warrnambool for the for the Surf Coast lead up event, I went for a stroll around the gardens to try and find this cache.
After gathering the info at the posted coordinates, I then made my way to the next waypoint, passing through what was to be the site of a wedding that was to happen very shortly, once there I had a look around and after a minute or two I had found what I was looking for and now onto GZ.
I arrived at GZ and around for a while but could not see the cache anywhere, but it had just been logged as found so where can it be.
After a PAF I found out that it was actually not there anymore so I headed off to find another.
Now that the cache has been replaced and my name is now in the logbook I can now claim the find on this cache.
Thanks to Kia1 for placing and replacing this cache.

It was a great morning for a walk in the Botanic Gardens - calculated coordinates for WP2 and arrived to find ... So where was the plaque? Resorted to the hint but this did not seem to help a great deal until on closer inspection found the indicator mentioned in the hint and the rest of the information we needed. Then off to GZ where we found the container after a short search. SL to the sound of bagpipes and then retraced our steps through the gardens. TFTC
We came to these gardens to find a cache and ended up spending a lot longer here wandering around and photographing the trees and some of the animal around the lake. I was very impressed with the gardens.
It took us some time, as seems to be th way here, to locate the WP but after a read of the logs and a better look it showed itself.
At GZ we only had to wait for a lawn mowing muggles before retrieving the cache

Day 3 of the girls' road trip to Warrnambool, which then extended out to Bendigo on day 3. On day 4 we picked up another passenger for Harry as the new passenger needed a lift to Adelaide.
Today we cached a little more in Warrnambool before driving to Bendigo, accompanied by micaparamedic in his rental car. We also stopped on the way to say hi to the lovely Sully1 and enjoyed coffee and muffins
There were no DNFs today and a total of 17 caches were found
After arriving at the gorgeous Botanic Gardens, we soon made our way to WP1.
Very quickly found the required information and wondered how on earth people miss that[?][?]
The numbers are a tad corroded however we managed to read them and then headed off to WP2.
On the way we were serenaded by bagpipes [^]
What a stunning sound on a Sunday morning in this beautiful location [^]
At GZ, we had a minor glitch which was resolved during a conversation with the CO who we met at Mosaics very shortly after leaving here
The down side of interstate trips is not being able to just sit and enjoy the ambience of the plantlife, the roses and the bagpipes for a long period

A fantastic multi in a brilliant location for a walk on a Sunday morning. We even got to hear bagpipes!
Talk about déjà vu ..... this is the second weekend in a row that I have been on a girls caching road trip with Locus Cache to Victoria. This time however it was a fabulous 4 day jaunt AND we may have even brought back a lovely Victorian fella with us (micaparamedic).....ALWAYS an enjoyable time when we hang out!
Kaye and I travelled from Adelaide to the beautiful Warrnambool area to attend a Friday night picnic in the park event and then on Saturday we enjoyed a yummy BBQ lunch at the 1 month to the Surf Coast Mega Event. Bendigo was our next overnight stop and then we headed home....which only took us 15 HOURS!! haha It wasn't the Little Desert National Park we got lost in this weekend, it was Murray Sunset National Park...LOL - but we did get a joint first to find which made the detour all worth it....who needs to get 8hours sleep before needing to be at work the next day anyway??
We targeted a number of caches over the weekend, including some oldies of Alex...very cool finding original ammo cans in the bush and some to help out the D/T grid!
Once again the conversations were highly amusing and we enjoyed lots of belly laughter!! haha [:o)]
We saw kangaroos, emus, lots of birds and a whole heap of water due to recent heavy rains.
GEOCACHING ROCKS!!! [:X]
Thanks for the cache Kia1!

I got to WP1 on an earlier visit and stalled. Today, with The Tritonz, we rechecked my information and after a thorough search the eagle eyed Triton found exactly what we were after. Off to GZ! What pretty gardens these ar, thanks for the tour Kia1 and thank you!
