we must get tired ... nothing here-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --French version below-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Short late log but more complete now that we are back home. Our vacation will take us to the other side of the world to the land of the Maoris. After many, many hours of flying, a passage through China on the way there and through the United States of America on the way back, we will finally arrive in Christchurch which will be the starting point of our journey. We will enjoy the beaches of the Pacific Ocean and we will go back towards the North Island via State Highway 1. To combine business with pleasure, we will take regular breaks and small detours according to the caches that seem the most accessible to us.With a little more than 3500 km in 20 days, we will have discovered many facets of this island which is soothing. We will have to come back because there are so many places that we have not done . In broad strokes, the path will go from Christchurch to the Kaikoura Peninsula then towards Picton for the crossing to Wellington.New island, new road, and by State Highway 2 we go towards Hastings and Napier. We will leave the seaside for several days to go to Tongariro and Taupo. We will continue north towards Rotorua and Hamilton (without forgetting a detour via Hobbiton ) A detour to the Coromandel Peninsula and finally the almost north of the island with Whangarei and Waitangi to learn the history of this country. There will only be a few days left to spend towards Auckland and its suburbs before taking the plane back to the grayness of our European autumn. The majority of the boxes will be found, we have abandoned those where our English was lacking and where we could not understand the clue. Thanks to all the owners who brightened up our path, who took us to incredible places (that's also geocaching)In short, we had a great vacation, saw beautiful places that simply ask us to come back. We learned a lot about the history of this country and its traditions, it's a great motivation for our destinations.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --Petit log en retard mais un peu plus complet maintenant que nous sommes rentrs la maison. After knocking of some of the caches in the more urban part of town kiwitreker1 and I headed across the the wetland path on our bikes. Located the cache, answered an AdLab and then headed down the track. TFTC!
Took a fair bit of time but finally the cache was in hand just before the helicopter landed near by

Thanks for your amazing cache G-2. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Found with Fisha1288. Replaced with water proof logCheers, Cympull.
Arrived in Puanui today. Very nice settlement with the beach, walkways, waterways and plenty of open spaces. Very impressed with it all! And we picked up a few caches during the day too!Finished the Ad Lab at this point. Biked along the trail to get just three regular caches. This one was a reasonably quick find although not in the first place I looked! #7059. TFTC.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we are currently parked up at the DoC Broken Hills Campsite near Pauanui we thought that as we were here, we should at least explore a bit of Pauanui, do the Ad Lab & a cache or two the cache was easily found, completed & replaced pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #4,625 for us!
Accio 13:57:30A much anticipated holiday with T4mmmy all around the North Island of New Zealand - staying for a bit in nearby Pauanui, today we drove all the way around here to Tairua and had a lovely breakfast and a bit of a tour around. Including here. Quick find. Thanks -G-2 for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #11672}*
Went for a walk to find caches this morning. There was a couple in front of this one so I got it on the way back. Very easy find as it wasn’t hidden at all. Lovely cache walk. Tftc
I had accommodation booked here and was intending to arrive early and hit up multiple caches in town. Best laid plans went down the drain when a serious traffic incident closed the roads for over 5 hours. I ended up taking the long detour across from Catherdral Cove which was loaded with caches. However this is a narrow back road which was now the major highway diversion. Not a hope in he'll of caching there today.
This became my only cache here today around 8 pm. Long day on the road.

TaurusSix and I are in New Zealand for a three weeks holiday. We love New Zealand and have had lots of wonderful experiences here previously. This time we have decided to focus our attention on three destinations for one week each, all in the North Island. The Coromandel Peninsula, Waiheke Island and The Bay of Isles. We are very mindful of not focusing all our attention of the holiday on geocaching, however it will still play an important part. We are deliberately focusing on caches that involve some walking, great views, interesting attractions , history and general points of interest. And this will all happen in between exploring, swimming , walking, doing touristy things and relaxing .

Day 2 - We are now based for the next little while at Pauanui on the Coromandel Peninsula and we woke up to a glorious sun rise. We are ready for the day ahead and exploring this lovely little town. After a very leisurely breakfast we headed to the beach and river mouth area where we undertook a local Adventure Lab, followed by an interesting multi before taking a beautiful scenic river walk with a trail of caches along the way . Part of the walk was a boardwalk through the mangroves which was quite impressive. We are actually very relieved that there are no snakes in New Zealand , we would not be attempting some of these spots at this time of year in Australia

Slept at the Freedom Camp nearby and did the LAB and some of the nice Bordwalk.
Thanks.
Thanks.
We're staying in Tairua for a few days break and today we traveled over to Pauanui to ride the cycleway and pick up caches. I had just finished the last part of the Pauanui ALC and then realized that there was a trad here, TFTC
Found with stairman1. Headed back to the car and grabbed this one All good here.
Out for a couple of easy caches with dad before lunch. I let him do the work for this to show him what it was all about. Onto it like a flash! Thanks for the cache.
This should have been my first find along the trail, but due to loads of muggles near GZ earlier, I decided to grab it on the way back. Nice quick find later in the day, all goo here, cheers
The last cache which was just meters away from where mr rattll had parked the campervan.
Now off to have a coffee.
Thanks for putting this here

It took us longer than it should have to find this one. I guess it was all that squinting at flying pigs in the sunrise that was the problem! TFTC # 18,371
This took us a bit longer than it should have but we got there. Thanks for placing G-2

Out this morning for a ride on our bikes. Day 3 and the first day that it isn’t raining.
A quick find here before heading onto the boardwalk. TFTC

We passed this one up on initial pass as we were so keen to get our lower bodies soaked by the waves and water splashing up through the boardwalk as a result of wind and boat wake. Nice easy find here and grabbed the resident TB.
Off out for the day to Pauanui and other nearby areas as the weather forecast for tomorrow doesn't look too flash. We found a 'few' caches by a certain North Island CO, which was to be expected due to the prolific regional placements. Guess we can see where he likes to vacation in Jan each year?
I have got a busy few days coming up, and am heading north to the Coromandel peninsula for the weekend with a work holiday home booked for this upcoming long weekend, including stat day on Monday. Then I'm heading home with mrs c for a couple of days leave followed by a couple of days WFH before heading back to Manawatu and my new work area at the weekend. Not massive numbers of cache finds but a few to keep things ticking over and a surprising amount by Auckland based COs too! Thanks to all cache owners for their contributions.

We planned a Team SEAC outing to the Tangitarori Wetlands Walk and the surrounding area to cache and spend a day enjoying the Pauanui area. We joined Uncle Sam, Keylev, Hemaludy, Stick-a-crane and B4Dawn for the day and completed the bike ride in about 3 hours. After a lunch break we then completed a few more caches around the Pauanui and Tairua. A great day with great friends. Thanks for all the caches.
While everyone was completing bike preparations , MrsNZT jumped the gun and decided to head to GZ to make the find. Cache found in good condition. TFTC!

I had made a call out to team SEAC to see if anyone wanted to wonder to Pauanui for day outing to grab some caches. Ended up with a swamp of us wanted to go! So on the day itself, we packed up the bikes, picnic food and embarked on this great journey! All logs were signed as "SEAC" to save space.
As were chatting and getting the bikes ready, I wondered over to this first cache on this trail to only see Mrs NZT busy looking for it. TFTC

A plan was hatched amongst a few of the Team SEAC crew from south and east Auckland to spend the day in Pauanui and surrounding areas to find some caches. This trail was the first target. Mr and Mrs HeMaLuDy decided to walk the trail while the others biked, so they dropped us off at one end for us to get started and then they went to the other end to get started with their bikes.
Our last one on the trail for us today.
Our last one on the trail for us today.
Out with my geocaching buddies "Team SEAC" for a day of adventures.
I did this trail back in March 2020 before the big C hit us. Unsure why I didn't get this one back then...but glad to have this one crossed of my list.
Great trail.

Great trail.
As luck would have it NZTravellers, B4Dawn and I realised that all our other work and social commitments aligned to give us some free time this week so what better way to put this to use then some afternoon / evening / night caching the WHOLE week!!! After 4 weekdays of very long days (work in the morning, then caching all evening) we took a break on friday to get ready for a bigger Saturday to finish the week off. We had many more Team SEAC keen to join this one which we haven't done in a little while with all the lockdowns etc so it was a great day!
This trail was the plan for the start of the day...we had brought our bikes and were ready to go!
Mrs NZT managed to find this one and start signing it as we were all getting off ours at GZ.
Thanks for the cache.

B4Dawn posted in our group chat of a trip down this way, a beautiful part of the country, to locate some of the local caches....some of us had found some but the majority were unfound by the group....
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches, with the majority in good condition and dry...
On out bikes for this stretch of caches, with 2 of the group walking...
Signed in as "SEAC" to save logbook space.

After a bit of a hunt it was located. Lovely walk and the boardwalk is up and running.
This was our first one for us as we cycled from Pauanui towards the end of the trail and back again. We parked our bikes close to gz, and were approached by a local muggle who was involved with the trail - mainly he was involved with building the numerous seats along the trail. Very impressive what has been done so far on this trail, and we look forward to returning one day to cycle all the way to Tairua.
Once the muggle had got back in his car, we set about finding the cache. Once we realised the hint item is now fallen, we came at this one from a different angle and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC

Families first geocache, took a little bit to find but ended in success! Keep looking if unsure definitely there.
My first one at this end of the trail and for some reason I was blind and after a few minutes searching I was ready to head off. The rain was starting to come down so I headed back to my car to grab my umbrella and on the way back I had another look and this time I had my hands on it almost straight away.
Anniversary weekend for Vamber and we decided to stay in a Yurt in Pauanui with the geopup. Lovely early morning walk. TFTC.
Last one of the trail, nice and easy find to finish of the day with PhilBirdBoys. Tftc.
