*The Wes's Tiger Line Catch Up Adventure #3*
The task is for me to catch up on all the Tiger Line caches SueHut has already found.
This was the first one in the list... and sadly remains on the list. I couldn't find it, and SueHut couldn't help me.
Thanks heaps nonetheless, vp4!

Have done this cache before but came back to do this one with hubby Wespro who hadn’t done them before. No luck today
Looks like things have moved around. It was also a bit unsettling seeing the local farmer watching us.
So peaceful yet so near the tourists - a quick find along the gorgeous country road. TFTC vp4
First cache for the day, and the boys had just woken. Nice to get this oldie.
Took spider, left car.
Took spider, left car.
Glad to turn this in a find, last time was warmer and not game to go into the grass, today was less of a snake activity day.
With MazzyMay in our travels we stopped by this series and had a good time working our way through. TFTC.
Dippa46 and I traveled up from a Apollo Bay where we were holidaying for a few days. We decided to try and find this 8 cache series and were not disappointed. The story behind the caches was most interesting. Thanks for placing these caches for us to find.
With my family encouraging from the car “tell me if any tiger snakes” I ventured in TFTC
Out caching with thomo31, pulled over and located cache, however cache does require

I was roaring along the olde rail line today

A quick stop here and the cache was found,
clues collected and to the next cache I was bound

Another one found on our way to Geelong after visiting our brother in Apollo Bay for Christmas.
Spending a day in the Otway and exploring the route of this abandoned railway. My second stop and what a pretty name TFTC vp4
Still find it hard to believe that there was a rail line through this region. This cache needs to be approached from the west, l think, and unfortunately when l found it the container lid was missing, and l didn't have anything to replace it with, sorry. Cows and grass everywhere, the Otways keep this region well watered.
Signed the substitute log as the original damp. TFTC and the series vp4. It's been fun.
Sunday drive from Melbourne down to Forrest to do the Lake Elizabeth earthcache.
We decided your Tiger Line series was nicely positioned for us to attempt on the way to the earthcache.
As per the previous finder's notes the original logbook is a little mouldy. I chose to sign the small replacement log! The lid is a little cracked on this hence the water ingress. Might need to replace this one next time you are on a maintenance run.

Original log so wet it slimes onto yourfingers. Vile and disgusting. Good thing there is temp replacement logs included. TNLN TFTC.
Another one in the series that i couldnt reach with my wheelchair which is ok cause i have half muggle mum with me to reach all those that are unreachable for the wheelie hunter here...
Log book is growing black and green mold. Have put a piece of paper in a baggy as temp log.
Had to send geohubby in for this one after 10 fruitless minutes searching, turning up nothing but blackberry brambles in my feet which drew blood.
He had it in hand within a minute. TFTC!

Found at 11:59 AM GAFF1.
As soon as we arrived, the nearby cattle looked up and came running over to see what was going on. Love it when that happens.
Thanks vp4.

One Family - One Ferry Ride - This Way To The Otways Trail - 3000th Cache
Saturday saw us board the 9am Ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff, the smooth trip and views were the highlight. Leaving Queenscliff we made our way to Mount Moriac finding a few caches on the way before starting the caching in earnest. We had lunch at Moriac before winding our way to Barwon Downs gathering caches along the way. We found our 3000th cache then headed home grabbing a few caches on the way, arriving home in time to catch the Storm v Panthers game!!!
Even though we fell seven caches short of completing the trail, time was getting away from us. We had a great day with many a laugh and stirring. I am sure the area was echoing with "Found It!!" screamed out as Katy and Campbell's competitive juices flowed. I am sure I heard from the drivers seat at one stage hearing found it x 2, jinx x 2, double jinx, bounce off the roof, doh, followed by hysterics. Another incident was Campbell pushing past Katy to find a cache, to be pushed away himself, falling backwards on a tussock landing on his butt!!
We had a blast all day finding caches and thank the owners for hiding them for us to find!!!

3rd find for today on the 3rd day of our road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide via the great ocean road. We will of spent 9 days travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide with many of those days being in the vicinity of the great ocean road using earth caches to guide us through this geological wonderland.
Today we are doing the harvest trail and heading up to Colac to see the salt pans. One of which murdered my ankle as I tempted to climb down the basalt rocks onto the dry pan. Owwww... was limping for 2 days but fought through the pain to obtain more caches and my first FTF.

Back on the Otway trail to finish it off, plus a few extra ones here & there while out and about with alchey.
On the way here we spied the remains of a trestle bridge with just the wooden pylons remaining. Arrived at GZ and madke a quick find and took a photo of the info we needed.
Thanks vp4 for the cache

As I was only 75 smilies from 2000, and 2 days left of the Year, I decided to hit the "This way to the Otways" trail, the Tiger Line trail and a few others that looked like quick grabs to get the big numbers before the new year.
A 14hour solo round trip with only me, ute, GPSr and a selection of music to keep my sanity.
I left home just before 7.30am and got back home almost at 9.30pm and had travelled 628ks
I was here for quite some time to grab this one. It always helps when you are on the right side of the tree.
Info grabbed and onto the next one.

I had been waiting for a rainy day to visit this and the Whoorel caches;would rather be wet than brave a snake in the long grass. 8 caches in this series now found, calculations await. Yes, I did this series out of order but I have photographed the instructions in each cache!
It is sad to see the slow, natural collapse of this apple tree. I have enjoyed apples from it for years, totally unaware of the hidden cache! A friend, who is the second generation farmer across the road from the tree, tells me it is at least 50 years old.

Out in a caching/ maintenance run with geordiefamily. This was one of the caches we visited on the way back home.

Beautiful sunny day for caching around Colac-Otway country to find The Tiger Line series.
Enjoy these beautiful country.

Found today while cruising around the region. Thanks for the cache. I liked it!
Mrs Crackers joined alansee and Liz & Bruce for a trip to the Otways to pick up the rest of the series that we hadn't found as yet before going to the event tonight.
The Tiger Line was also in our sights as we were traveling passed and this was the last for the day for us.
Doing this series out of order meant that we will return another day to look for the mixed goods
Thanks vp4 for a very enjoyable series so far.

A top day with a couple of other teams with a high level of geocaching addiction, namely Alansee and Di from Team Crackers. Loads of fun, the rain was a light drizzle most of the day so not too bad. This was one of the caches we targetted and were able to find. Thanks to vp4 for placing this cache.
Very old tree.
Caching today with Motndarg, Glanville Girls and Tomstache, our aim was to finish our adventure that we started earlier this year. Our plan was to have lunch in Birregurra (where we met up and collected Rehfisch Clan, $doo and Storm_horse) and then incorporate the the Tiger Line into our caching plan. An overnight stay in Forrest made for a fantastic weekend.

Cool old tree. Thanks for the cache. Got the clue.
Great full on day of caching. Love to do it again, lots of interesting caches in this area. Caching with Motndarg, Glanville Girls, McLookers for This Way To the Otways Series and then Rehfish Clan, $doo and Storm_horse joined us for The Tiger Line Series.

Out on a caching run today with McLookers, Tomstache and Motndarg. Our plan was to find all of the 'This Ways to the Otways' series starting at Winchelsea and making our way to Forrest. After lunch in Birregurra we were joined by Storm_horse, The Rehfisch Clan and $doo and we diverted to the Tiger Line Series.
No apples on the branches today. But we collected the info for the puzzle. Thanks for the hide.

After tidying up a couple of pieces of unfinished business in Geelong, we headed west to the road to the Otways to tackle both the "This Way To The Otways" series and the "Tiger Line" series. We anticipated that we would run out of time to look for them all today but we had left an opportunity to return early tomorrow to complete any that we may have left from today. One of us has a strong affinity for rail, especially steam, as a parent worked as a driver for the Tasmanian Railways. So, we were really loking forward to this series. As we worked through the various caches, we came to appreciate the different style of puzzle - very enjoyable as the data was woven into a story about the happenings at each of the stations.
The long grass around GZ made us a little apprehensive about going into the area but with plenty of banging of sticks, we ventured in and found the cache in a vey good hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache and the series vp4.

# 5704. Robmc had picked today as the coolest day of the week to go out on a caching run. After yesterdays searing heat we were glad to be heading to the Otways......
We completed the Otways Series and as Rob had done this series at an earlier date he kindly stopped along the way so that I could find these as we headed north. So, they were done in reverse order. Really enjoy old rail line caches and feel it is such a shame that in most towns there is nothing to show for this once bustling mode of transport., except for "Station Street" and "Railway Avenue" in the strangest places.
Another nice spot for a hide with a view of the straight stretch where the line had once been.
Thanks vp4

The apple tree had small apples on it, but we did not sample them. Thank you vp4 for this beaut mini series.
Apples on the tree today and I did notice the slightly raised path of the train line here.
This is a very nice straight forward series that I am really enjoying collecting.

I'd planned a big day of caching for today and a big day it was. The main aim was to complete the Otways trail of caches and to find other caches along the way. Starting just out of Waurn Ponds I made my way to Cape Otway Rd and continued to the end of the caching trail before heading east towards Torquay and then on into the southern suburbs of Geelong. Hitting the road at around 7:15 am, it was a long 20 hour day of caching with 630 km travelled and 100 caches founds along with some DNF's. With my first cache found at 7:30 am, I crawled into bed at around 3:30 am the following morning. A great day and thanks to all the CO's who placed the caches I found (and did not find) today.
This was one of the most best short series of caches I have done. Loved the locations and the journey to GZ of the final was enjoyable and adventurous. Parking next to GZ, I scrambled in and soon had my latest list of loadings and unloadings. Carriages ready and the journey continues.
Thanks VP4.
