Security put it in the garden we got busted trespassing new spot near the security gate on the right in garden
Relocated near security booth, security have put it near the booth aound by the bushes. security didn't want tresspassers to go though the restricted gate for safety reasons.
Out and about but failed to unearth his one. Like others this area is restricted access and fenced off to the public.
A nice stroll to the GZ. It was intersting reading the history of the island. TFTC
So we ventured out to Channel Island again this afternoon for a cache (me) and some photography (mel). Even though the gates were still looked shut, we ventured past and walked along the beautiful path. Some great bushland out here. I took a turn and looked for the cache, whilst Mel continued on. When I caught up she told me she had seen a green tree snake and a small bush rat! A nice area and TFTC.
Found with dortmundnt, Nice walk in, Took trackable and Left keyring. Time for trackable to find another place as has been hibernating for a long time. TFTC
was really keen for this one but two big chained fences blocked our path...we made the assumption they were locked for a reason??! if not please let me know as I'd like to come out for the walk/find one day!
This was our 7th cache find in the caching run & we found it at 12:50
So this now makes our total find count 6817.

Our first day in Darwin (this year). It seemed such a pity to just sit around in the caravan park, so we ventured out in the heat to acclimatise ourselves, and of course to find a few caches.
Thanks for placing a large cache. After finding over 6817 caches it is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches (without swaps) is increasing. While nanos and eclipse tins have their place in an urban environment these, along with 200ml Sistemas, seem to be the norm these days even out in bush areas. It made us feel really glad to find a large, kid friendly cache here.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Fair (Around 8 metres).
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Trackable.
Thanks fossickerpb for the hunt today.

Biggest cache for me so far. Nice walk, apart from the heat and my shoes running blisters TFTC
A fascinating piece of history of the area and pleasant stroll in if somewhat hot and steamy today.

A nice walk and it struck me that there were no apparent signs of the island's previous use.
TFTC! Nice walk past the gates into the woodland. We were a bit a fraid of the crocs and snakes
I was trying to spook the padiwan apprentice and Jedi parter with tales of psycotic patients escaping as we walked around the water tank, but it didn't work. Also foolishly trying to spot snakes only saw a smack around the head from the wife.
I didn't read the descriptor properly and as a consequence a long walk to get the cache with a short trip home.
TN L plush frog and dragon key ring.

Quick easy find. Bit dubious with the authorized PWC and Parks personnel only sign on the gate. TFTC
Great spot, haven't been there for 22 years but it doesn't look like it changed much. Collected the Coconut Monkey and will arrange for him to get to the airport soon. T4TC.
Thankyou, my baby son's first cache, was easy to find but don't trek in thongs, only 350 off the road, but do take water, was hot when we walked. Travel bug out.
WanderingAus wandered by on day 49 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, after dropping the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) at the stop for the free Casino Bus I had almost 6 hours of caching time available. I decided to head for this cache and work my way back.
As TomTom reported "you have reached your destination I saw a reasonable spot to pull off the road, and what looked like a very tough patch of mangrove to enter from the road. As I was about to pull over I spotted a track ahead and thought "beauty, a track", then as I reached it I thought "bugger, a very well locked gate". I turned around, and was about to head for TomTom's chosen stopping point when I got the thought "you little ripper, a cacher's trail". I reversed the geoPajero into the shade and followed the cacher's trail around the gate to the track.
After a few hundred metres easy walk I made an extremely quick and easy GAFF 0 find. I think the heat must have driven the wildlife into the shade, as I didn't spot any, and didn't hear a single bird call.
My find No 3724, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped DyerMkr's Karma Coin (ref = TB2PCBW) and Lost My Memory Travel Bug (ref = TBJYF7), also dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC and my WanderingAus GeoMobile TB in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

Asked at the office if it's ok to go in and they said no problems. Great spot for a walk. I loved the land crabs and gecko keeping guard. Took TBs LN TFTC
We didn't attempt this one due to the locked gates at the entrance to the area, yeah sure we could have walked around them and climbed over a small side fence, but we figured they would be locked for a reason.
Found the cache easily. Decided to keep following the road to its end - a beach on the northeast tip of the island. Found remnants of the old boardwalks through the mangroves along the way. Well worth an extra half hour.
Hot today but the short walk had us finding the cache. TNLN. Thanks fossickerpb
Great place to put a cache. Its worth walking further to the coastal flats for a look. Beware the unmaintaned broadwalk. L lizzard, and didn't take the jeep bug as I have already taken it for an inter cache drive previously. TFTC
Lovely walk through the bush. The history of the area is very interesting. Saw wallabies.Left trackable. TFTC.
wasnt sure if to go through the gates as we had security watching us, but on we went. nice walk in, no sight of any wildlife though. took lanyard, left bubbles and gc.

Was keen to find this one, but obviously not keen enough to get pass the locked gates and the double fence. The sun was far hotter than these kiwis are used to, and combined with no info on whether we could go climbing over fences onto this land deterred us from venturing further.
A nice easy find... I've now logged a FTF... (fifth to find .
TFTC and the history... Wen I was a young child I knew some of the nurses who tirelessly worked for the inmates on the island

Initially I thought this was impossible, as access seemed to be a problem. Finally found a way through, and enjoyed the walk and the cache.
Took geocoin to continue travels south

Silver find today after working out a way around the locked gates. Left a Thx fossickerpb for the cache and tour.
Whoo Hoo! Finally A First To Find! Saw this tonight and just had to go out after it this is an awesome spot - a little bit spooky at night though especially after you read the description and do a little bit of research on the place. A very nice / cunning hiding place - I nearly stood right on top of it while I was searching for it. Took the compass (nearly needed it - darn cheapo batteries from overflow) and left my wife's favorite reindeer fluffy key ring behind - we both hope he will be OK out there tonight - suppose he has the light in the cache if he gets scared TFTC!
