Out with cccl23 fir a few targeted caches today, thus being a primary one on that list just because its a Zytheran cacheDidnt disappoint at all. The hike to the prize started off very docile bug soon after got very steep on the descent. I ended up going down a less steep option as I didnt want to going arse over kite while cccl23 bounded down the steep section Arrived at the entry point and cccl23 was already geared up and ready to go. Soon after entering he was shouting with joy and the prize was found The log was absolute pulp, maybe due to the O-ring missing from the bison tube, so we replaced the bison with a new one and inserted a fresh log (hope it lasts a little longer.A great adventure, worthy of another favourite point TFTC
Wow what an awesome cache l!This was one of the target caches for Cheezel1961 and I on our trip today and it didnt disappoint!I made my way in and did the retrieval. The log was sodden so I and Cheezel signed a fresh one and replaced the internal bison.Such a great spot for a cache!TFTC
Needs maintenance. Not "safest" probably It's a good idea to have a friend with you!
Paper log inside was ruined. Everything was full of water. Overall great spot!
Piece of cake, probably 1 out of 5 just might get ur knees dirty and bring a friend to hold ur ankles. TFTC
tftc, i was the one who took it for the team and went down best catch so far photo shows outside of cave
Awesome cache! Came here a while ago, couldn't seem to find. This time brang some extra gear and no problems! Thanks
Such a gnarly cache thanks for the spot! Popped a muggles cherry with this one and now hes hooked!
Out with Weredunn4 hitting some target caches. This being one of them.
Great concept of a hide. Greatful it is now tethered, so no need for scuba or big lungs.
Nice spot, nice cache.

Caught up with Goldy and Saintsno1 for this find. Well equipped with an amazingly bright torch (not mine!) we made the crawl in with trepidation. What a cool hide and I was grateful that despite being late the guys waited for me to come along for the journey. This one has been on my caching bucket list for ages. TFTC
Stumbled across this 1 when we seen it have about 30 favourites and looked into it and after reading the logs it was 1 I was keen to do but the lovely and caring wife said she wasn’t keen and didn’t want me doing it alone which I could understand after reading previous finders logs
Put the call out to goldy and he was happy to come along I then thought how many others would like to do this but didn’t want to do it alone so put the call out and Michelle and hound also wanted to come along.
I went shopping for a torch 1 specifically I been looking at for awhile perfect excuse now to convince the wife it would be in our best interest to invest
Glad we did as it made this find so much easier and safer
Hats off to hurtle who done this alone and in the dark, something I certainly wouldn’t have done.
Crawling into the hole was easy for myself as I’m not the tallest bloke going around however for sue and Joshua it wasn’t as easy. I went in first followed by sue and Joshua at the rear.
Quickly got to gz and quickly found the way to get the cache to a place we could retrieve and sign
The cache was in good condition considering how far down it goes
I think this was my first zytheran cache and hope to find many more.
Thank you for the experience and for taking me to a location like this
Thank you to sue and goldy for tagging along to make this achievable
Favourite added for the effort it goes into placing caches like this

I had no idea this cache was even a thing until saintsno1 pointed it out to me.
He asked if I wanted to go, the answer had to be yes. I would never say no to finding a Geocache.
saintsno1, Michells&hound and myself met at the carpark, a trio of red cars. We then set off down and soon found the entrance.
How low will I go? More like how low CAN I go? Not very low, apparently.
I made it inside eventually.
We reached the water and saints pulled out the cache, then went through the big babushka of containers.
Soon enough the log book was out, passed around and signed by all.
Was a fun adventure.
Now up to 1907 total finds and another D/T combo filled.
Thanks Zytheran for bringing us here for the journey.

We did our homework and were prepared. Change of clothing - check. Bright torches - check. Thick gloves - check. Backup plan with extra cachers for safety - check. Left directions to find our bodies - check. Csaba!, SupaOrange & SupaTurtle were ready.
Found a suitable parking spot and sauntered down to the river and along it. Arrived at the rather small opening, which we came upon rather unexpectantly. The 'supas dove in only to retreat hastilly after discovering the spider webs. After a bit of a regrouping, they braved the conditions and led to way to the end where the 'Low' part of the cache name was discovered. After a bit of investigation and a bit of hauling, the babushka-like cache was in hand and after a lot of unscrewing, the log was passed around and signed. Reversing the whole process had the cache back in its low condition.
Would not like to come here without any means of illumination as that last step might be your last. I wonder what's really at the bottom.
Thanks for the fun, Zytheran.

A Turtle loves water but not spider webs. Being 10 years old made this one easy to get to but super spider scary. Malco! did all the heavy lifting. Turtle out
This was the main reason for the trip down south with the Supa's and Malco!. The walk in was fun and the hide was fantastic. Malco! was the main cache finder while the rest of us enjoyed the show and smell. So many layers to this cache and the log still felt damp. Covered in spiderwebs the log was signed. Thanks for the hunt.
Came down south with Csaba!, SupaTurtle and Malco!. What a fun hide. The cache smelt really bad. Tra La Laaa

I had not intended to come by this way, nor find this cache today. The second time Blackadders offered to bring me here, I could not refuse. I really wanted the 'low' stat this one offered, but had been too 'safe' to attempt it. Blackadders stood watch while I slithered into the cave. Once I managed to find the cable, all was well. I was ever mindful of the knot around 2m down/along the wire, I didnt want it to trip me up when it went sailing back into the abyss.
It was raised up and squirrelled some distance up the cave, at this point the torch went out, and did not come back to life. Luckily there was plenty of light entering the opening, and the rest of the operation was performed in that light successfully. Picture provided showing the log only slightly wet. Everything was re-assembled with much care, and it was carefully and slowly returned to its dark abyss way down there.
I never imagined I would get this one, so pleased I did. I had a skip in my step for the remainder of the afternoon.

The usual Wednesday Wander for members of Befuddled Puzzle solving group had us heading southwards once again in search of solved puzzles and anything else we might be passing. Today it was myself, Blackadders and Astro. [:o)] Meeting in Reynella we started with a walk along the Coast to Vines Trail before following the GPSr's . There were the usual laughs[^], bad jokes, and some more DNF's to add to a list that should be shrinking and not increasing. [:(!]
Be prepared: I read all the logs, I watch a video, I took two previous finders with me. All loose stuff out of pockets, torch securely attached to lanyard, in I went. Crawl, crawl, crawl, sit up and survey the area. Two wheels floating on the top of the water a couple of metres down. - Don't fall in there.
Floor covered in little round rocks. Onto belly to edge an inch closer. rocks could almost be ball bearings, slide forward three inches. Called for backup from previous finders. Astro came to my aid and firmly grasp ankle. Lower me 3 inches please. [^] Couldn't find what I wanted. Another 3 inches please. Looking into abyss now. Don't let go, I am pretty sure I could not get back up the gentle slope over the ball bearings from here! Gotcha. Pull me back 12 inches please. That done I was able to sit and start fishing. Lots of snags to raise this whopper and the smell, [xx(][xx(][xx(] Had to lick my armpit for a week to get rid of that taste. [:o)] Finally the cache came into view and I began the babushka cache unwrapping. Four water protection containers later I was able to sign the very dry log. Reassemble and back to the murky depths for the cache. But arghh - that smell again. Hurtle did make it out right. [?] Fav point from me too. [:X]
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again I will trying to get the other two this year. [^] Should be easy as I only have to get two multi caches in July from the lockdown and couldn't get out. [:o)] The other was DNF's that came down from over 50 to the low teens before blowing out again but I really want to see only single a single digit this year.
***Thanks Zytheran for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Did this one with a friend a while ago with a couple of friends. The number of bugs in that cave was frightening.... but a very cool cache! Thanks for an awesome experience.
Today was a big day of caching with Locus Cache, who kindly drove me around the southern suburbs, loaned me some TOTTS, and pushed my boundaries. Rex the geodog also provided company, thanks to you both for a grand day out.
Cache of the Day without question here. An experience I won’t forget; if you get a chance to do this, get in there now while you can, but heed all the precautions. Like Davidwazza, I was thinking Russian dolls, and I also grabbed the TB he left.
Thanks Zytheran, you made my day.

Thanks Zytheran, you made my day.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I had an enjoyable Mother's Day breakfast with my parents, which turned out quite timely to coincide with the morning rain showers. After that downpour, the weather turned out great, with the sun out and blue skies, quite unexpectedly actually. The plan was to head south for a few small hikes/walks, and in the end, we did a few coastal walks, starting with the Marino Coastal Walking Trail, and then some walks inland in Lonsdale, and back to the coastal walking trail, which included seeing the new desalination plant from the outside. A final bakery visit, food shopping and Bunnings Warehouse visit concluded our day, with a quick stop at Reynella on the way back home.
I had visited this cache last year, but it was such an awesome location, that I had to bring back [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T)! We brought a torch between us, and I briefed her on this secret hide as we walked upon approach. The cache was retrieved once again, with just under 12 months from the previous find. We then played the Russian dolls game to retrieve the dry logbook (the last two containers were ok, but amazing to see how the water just naturally seeps through those other seals). I dropped a TB here for future finders. Thanks again Zytheran.

Sneaky hide! The cave was a bit gross, but the creek was a lovely little area! A nice day out despite the morning showers exploring the area with [@Davidwazza](http://coord.info/PR61VZX) ! TFTC!
Visited GZ again with a replacement outer lid for the cache container and reinstated the cache back into the deep dark depths where it belongs
Awesome cache! Always keen to do a Zytheran T5. Took the geowife and daughter caching around the Field River today. With torches packed we parked nearby and headed down the hill, found the mouth of the tunnel and went in. Pulled the string and found the cache which was quite deep under water. Unscrewed the multiple containers and found the log which was bone dry. Signed the log but when we went to screw the lid on the largest container it slipped and then plummeted into the depths
I will replace the lid very soon, but until that is done the cache is in the tunnel, near the side under a rock.
Fav point for the adventure? Absolutely! Thanks Zytheran!

After hearing so many stories about this one I thought it was time to turn it into a story of our own. Luckily the spider turned out to be a Father Christmas. TFTC
When H423L told me I was going to be crawling around in a small hole this morning, I thought she was crazy. After conquering my fears of enclosed spaces and spiders (it helps when the spiders aren’t actually spiders), we managed to use our considerable strength to grab this one from the depths.
Thanks for the awesome cache!

I’m trying to fill the D/T grid and have a gap for this combination, but after reading the description and log, thought it may not be a cache to bring @fluffymaxi and @JayG10 to, but it also didn’t appear to be a solo cache, not wanting to repeat the experience of @Hurtle so I placed a note on the log. @Brad&Janet were keen for another attempt and we arranged to go after the breakfast event and @Davidwazza joined also for a very enjoyable morning.
The walk to GZ was fairly straight forward and we had no difficulty making the retrieval.
There was a little water in cache #1, but the cache in a cache, the cache in a cache in a cache and the cache in a cache in a cache in a cache were all dry.
Log entries made, photos taken (see other logs - and note to self to turn the head torch off for photos next time) and we made our way out without incident.
Apologies to Thewhitedoggang who had also responded to my note, but wasn’t available for this expedition. While there is some danger at GZ with a safety briefing, I will have no problems bringing my older children (aged 10+) so will team up for a return visit.

This nemesis has finally been vanquished.
After our previous DNF when we could hold the container in our hands but not get it open, we put a watch on this one.
A recent note from geckoj led to a plan for a joint visit after a breakfast event today.
At the event Davidwazza also decided to join us.
This time we heeded the CO’s advice and parked to the west. Much easier access.
At the opening we regrouped, activated our light sources, checked we had everything and headed inside.
It seemed like the tide was out compared with my previous visit. Geckoj retrieved a familiar looking container but this time the outer lid turned easily. Then came the Russian doll process, the log signing and the obligatory photos, before replacing everything and returning to the outside world.
Mission accomplished.

Following a breakfast geocaching event, @Brad&Janet, @GeckoJ and I went on a road trip to target @Zytheran's how low cache down south, and along the way, stopped off at a few caches that we didn't have.
This was the target cache, and as @Brad&Janet had visited before, it was an easy walk to the entrance. Having known the stories related to this cache and Hurtle's adventure, we made sure to be extra cautious as we entered this cave. This is freaking awesome and so cool to be out of the way here. We found the mine, and @GeckoJ made the retrieval. We played with the babushka dolls to find a dry log in the final bison container that we were able to make our mark. Container back in its hide and we smiled with delight at this adventure, thanks heaps @Zytheran. A no brainer Favourite Point from me!

After reading the notes, I think I may need other adults to attempt this one, rather than the kids. If anyone is wanting to make an attempt and would like company, please let me know.
Had read description, logs and spoken to previous finders so approached this with caution and a bright torch. And a fresh nest of 4 containers with a fresh log.
Retrieval and opening was not a problem. Not much water in outer container but only inner container was missing it's seal and log within was well and truly past using. Not enough room for nest of all 4 but the 3 that fitted will hopefully be up to the job of keeping log dry for quite a while.
Was nice to hear the plop when replacing and was surprised at how clear the water was, enabling me to watch for quite a while before it disappeared into the depths.
Thanks to Zytheran for the adventure

Found but couldn’t sign log book.... it was wet!!! Can describe small container with in if need be Thanks and I’m glad I didn’t get wet!
Found while caching in the southern suburbs with Featherwaite and Gridge98.
In retrospect, we approached this one from the wrong side, making it a little more awkward than it should have been. Nevertheless, we found our way to the entrance without too much difficulty.
I can still recall Hurtle telling us about his misadventure while trying to find this cache back in 2012, and it still sends shivers up my spine! So it was with great care that we embarked on the search.
Fortunately the cache was quickly located and we had no difficulty opening it, although the logbook was too wet to sign. However a photo was taken, to be uploaded by Featherwaite.
We then took the much easier (and recommended) way out.
Thanks Zytheran for the cache.

Found in the company of e.gregory1 and gridge98. We approached along the creek from the East which was a bit of a scramble. The cache retrieval went well (once we figured out where it was) but the logbook was sodden - see black object in attached image. Thanks for the adventure and cache Zytheran!
Out for the day with e.gregory1 and feather Waite collecting some puzzles. This one after hurtles log was a bit of a worry for us. Was unsure of what to do when inside. Look around and found it. Once we had the cache we got all of the containers. Log is wet so unable to find. A photo is in another’s log TFTC
Great cache! love it! found today with Jacknor as my safety supervisor opened cache but couldn't sign log. Happy to send CO some pics to prove find! loved this cache!!! TFTC!
TFTC! Find gz was easy. Retrieving was a little bit harder! No problem opening the container and signing log. Cheers
Found today with Shonky and friends after a cache down the road. This was a great location and the adventure was just a blast. It took a bit in ingenuity to find and make a retrieval tool to get the cache container from its rouge location and put it back in its rightful home with a newly replaced log sheet, and our names of course.
A Fav from me without a doubt.
Thanks for another fantastic cache Zytheran

Accompanied my Russian friends for a trip on the Moscow Underground nearby this morning. After that little journey we were in the mood for more and I knew about this location because I was right behind Freddo 6 years ago when he "dropped the cache". One of the Columbian Russians mentioned that she had been able to drive to the cache previously, but today the gates were securely locked. After driving around trying various options we decided that we had to walk down the hill the conventional way.
Previous logs indicated some inability to open the container. We were suitably prepared with heavy pipe wrenches and the best Russian WD40 you can buy. Both of which we had to lug back up the hill afterwards. But there were no issues. The cache was retrieved and opened easily and ... apart from stinky water there was... nothing in there. The little orange container and its lid were spotted floating in the water right next to the soccer ball.
Southern Cross Caching being using a bit of Russian ingenuity found an old coke bottle that he managed to tie to a stick and used it as a scoop to retrieve the cache container, lid first, then the container.
Paper was inserted, container secured, inside the larger carrier and PLOP back in the water. I've heard that sound before, but last time there were a few carefully chosen words uttered afterwards. Hopefully the paper stays dry enough for the next finder to leave their mark.
Thanks Z, Now that I've logged a find instead of a DNF I can add a fav point.

Was in the area doing a couple of other caches and Tomboy offered to take me to this cache. It was a cache I had heard a lot about and one I would never visit on my own. 5 terrain stars are scary for me
However, I wasn't about to turn down a golden opportunity so off we went, down we went and in we went........
No trouble finding the cache but opening it was a different story. Us 2 girls must have spent a good 30 minutes trying to get it open but without proper tools the quest was futile. We suspect a massive suction has built up inside the container making it extremely hard to open. Its going to require some serious muscle!
In the end I resorted to writing my name on the container and have photos which can be supplied as evidence. I hope the CO will accept my find log.

See today's DNF log. Two of us completely failed to undo the outer container. Maybe we are just weaklings? Maybe the next person might want to try WD40?
After finding two Zytheran puzzles caches in the general area, Anymules agreed to accompany me into this famous GZ. Getting there was a little challenging but our third choice proved successful.
Carefully approaching the edge with maximal illumination I lay flat and looked over. A wheel with tyre was floating there. And the tether was located. Moving my weight back from the edge I reeled in the cache.
But that was where it ended. Neither of us was able to undo the twist lid. We tried impact shocks to loosen it, two person attempts, even using the tether wire. It would not shift.
After 10 minutes and multiple attempts we admitted defeat and the container was re-consigned to the Hurtle pond.
So while I left DNA on the cache container I did not sign the logbook. Maybe another time?

Our adventure cache of the day .
Had our eye on this one for a long, long time, but it's always been near the bottom of our run sheet, which we rarely get to . Today however, we put it up near the top [8].
Quite surprised how low on the hillside the opening is here and as suggested, we didn't come alone [^].
Plenty of water in the hole still - and it is so dangerously deep [xx(]. Poured the water out of the first container, then the second. The third container is still doing its job . TNLNSL.
Thanks Zytheran.

The second find of the day. Another high D/T cache, yay! My mate and I were kind of unprepared for this as the house we were at only had one weak headlamp. It made the job harder but we were just more cautious to compensate. Overall, we had no issues doing this one. Even got a cool video of me making the retrieval. Awesome spot though! Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Zytheran!
This one has been on the radar for a long time. Seeing others had performed some maintenance on this one and confirmed it was still available, I teamed up with JJ52 to go attempt this one. It was much easier at GZ than expected (and from Hurtle's unfortunate experience). Log was nice and dry in the bag in the container in the container in the container. TFTC. 3/12/16, 10:26 am Find #3402.
This has been one of my closest to home unfound and up till now I haven't had the opportunity to go and get the cache.
Was talking to AnyMules who also had not found it and we decided today would be the day.
Had a nice walk to GZ and found the entrance and very soon after had the cache. [^] Opened the first container and tipped all the water out...opened the second container and tipped all the water out...opened the third container and all inside was nice and dry. Signed the log and replaced all as we found it.
Was quite lovely down here listening to the creek running and frogs croaking. [^]

Were do I start, Today was a great day caching with Kaye, we were hopping the clouds will go away but No ! A heavy raining mixed with heals make any of our finds a 3 plus difficulty we got stuck in the mud, then I felt on my kness trying to push her car out the mud I went under a bridge, I eat the biggest donut ever and I lost my phone .. and much mure happen in our day caching. You can't complain that you don't have fun caching with Locus cache Between all of this and more, Kaye wanted to make sure this cache has the right container so I helped her to replaced it. What a nice cave ! The idea is great and the location is fantastic, I would never know a cave was here ! Thanks Zytheran, if I can give you more than one fav point I would ! TFTFun
I accompanied Andy Colombia here today as, due to unforeseen circumstances, CPwanderer and I had been unable to get here last Monday.
Upon opening the cache hide we found the recently added piece of paper safe and dry inside the Zantac tube.
I'd purchased a small, waterproof match container recently and we added a small log into the plastic bag and then put them inside the matches container and replaced the cache.
Hopefully that stays dry!
If not, we have another option that may be considered.
Love this place!

I wonder if 'How deep will you go?' may have been a better name for this one.
Here's a tip for any future finders. DO NOT attempt to stand on the old tyres. They are not sitting on the ground, they are in fact floating. I'm curious how far down it goes?
After scrambling back up to a safer position to reassess, I spotted something unusual.
That water sure is stinky.
I had a spare cache container with me, ready to replace but after finding I realised that my container would not fit. I emptied out the old soggy remnants of the log book. Added a small piece of paper in a zip lock bag which I signed.
Thanks for the challenge Zytheran.

Ive had an eye on this one for a while - its been many months since it was disabled for cleaning out - is it making a return soon?
Well this one is a 5* stinker. The integrity of this cache is long gone, we placed yet another piece of signed paper in the cache, but guessing the next finder will need to add yet another, If we had realised rhis before our adventure we would have brought along a nice waterproof container.
We had heard all sorts of stories about this cache but we still weren't sure what to expect, with the weather looking a bit threatening we hurried to GZ, after making lots of noise to scare of any of the dwellers, the adventure was on, in we went, crawling cautiously along, found "the" spot, can't see anything looking like a cache, ain't going without finding and signing, shone the torch around, ah there it is, pulled and pulled and pulled and aah copped a face full of eu de costink, signed a fresh bit o paper, took a coin, secured containers as best we could, replaced without tangling us up and plopping in also.
All in all good fun, good lil adventure, thanks Zytheran for the cache. Cheers Kookacrew

Found with Snap Happy while out visiting family and friends and making the most of grabbing a few caches before heading into town. I had two young geosons with me in tow this morning and it was a case of getting down and getting dirty, the cache was quickly located and logged. TFTC Zytheran.

Found it after following jacknors directions and ending up on the wrong side of the river. Back up the hill down the other side and turning on torches. Cache in hand, log book moldy. First t5.
Found it with Sir_Spectre after he said to me im going for this one and need a second person so you are coming.
Found It!
After all the stories that have come from this cache I have been wanting to go and find it for years. Today that finally happened. I was joined by a fire-fighter for the trip but thankfully it wasn't the same fire-fighter that almost killed himself here! After all this one was firesafe - he does things safely and doesn't just hurtle into things...
We soon had the cache in hand but it was full of water and the log was kinda ruined. We drained the water out and added a bit of cardboard that we signed before replacing the lid as tight as we could. Then PLOP! as the cache sank back into the depths...
Thanks for the cache Z man!

After a Meet n Greet event at Hallet Cove, Laighside Legends, locus cache and I headed out to do some of the T5 caches nearby. Some walking up and down, climbing up and down and crawling up and down and we had a few of them. Should have left them for next weekend for the souvineer - oh wel there will be others. TFTC.
This one wasnt as bad as others had made it seem and we only got wet from walking through the grass to get to the entrance.

Accompanied with Ride the tiger, wet damp walk down to the opening, ventured in and then the smell hits you, retrieved the cache with out falling in the murky water. Hardest part was getting the lid open. Cache was full of water and no chance of even being able to sign log,

Did this one with ParisLaura with 3 geokids kids in tow, Troyyugal and 3LG "safety in numbers". We met there just on dusk and headed down for a recon while we waited for 3LG to fight their way through traffic to get here. Headed in, expecting to have to crawl about a fair bit but were very surprised to find that the opening was the smallest bit. located the cache but it was soaked... we had a spare log with us but it was pointless replacing it as the container is no longer water tight. Awesome spot, I don't know why this is not closed off but I'm so glad Geocaching bought me here. Photo attached.. we look like three rats up a drainpipe. Thanks Z for an awesome experience .....Now off to Maccas for a coffee and to wash our stinky hands
I am glad that I had the chance to experiance this one, I was nervous by the terrain rating & having children in tow, but we were very careful with lots of flash lights and adults to stand guard near the cache.
Definately not one to do alone and without the correct equipment as listed in the cache description. The cache itself was actually full of water so was not logable, but we have taken plenty of pictures of the journey.
Thanks Zytheran

Found this one after dusk with a bunch of lovely cachers. It was good to get in there but I don't mind saying it was good to be out as well. Thanks Zytheran.
Tonight we join a few other cachers to tackle this one after receiving a invite to join them, being a Z cache it was time to expect the unexpected lol. finally arrived at GZ after travelling from the north east and soon was at the opening, what was past that opening ?? we were soon to find out, we entered and soon found ourselves looking down a very long hole in the ground, how cool, this is my type of cache find, soon had the cache in hand and was able to stamp my name in the logbook, the logbook smells like something that died a long time ago so i would recommend wearing some rubber gloves if you do this one. TFTC and the great adventure.
Great GeoCache, the walk was a bit steep as we parked at the top. Was an interesting formation.
That being said needs a bit of maintenance as everything was wet. Needs better water proofing. Still had fun.

After the nearby event, Mr Tardis came over with a bunch of other cachers to find this legendary cache. froghoppin did the daring deed and managed to retrieve the container in this very interesting location.
We all had fun here and then walked back up to the cars.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Zytheran.

Well that was fun and the first of that sort of search, glad we did that as a team effort after the for the kids event. Favourite from the Adders, TFTC
Setting out with four other caching teams, safety in numbers we found the entrace partially hidden by plant matter, once cleared we entered the depths and found the drop off, reaching down low we soon had the cache hauled in over the edge, it took two of us to open the lid but out of the smelly mush we did find a small tube with a damp but signable log book, all to soon the cache was replaced and we once again were like ants coming out of a anthill into the sunlight a great little adventure a fav point fro us TFTC Zytheran
Out with Mr Tardis and Froghoppin to grab a couple of caches after Mr and Mrs Tradis 10th wedding anniversary (Congratulations).
Thank Zytheran for the find.

A bit scary when the first thing I saw was a big redback spider. The logs are all wet and smell like sewage. The log inside the zantec container is at least clean but damp, I did manage to write my name on it though. Great cache
Wow, that was interesting, and seriously dangerous. Great place for a cache, but I'm glad I knew exactly what I was getting myself into, that hole is very hard to see. Great set up for the cache, although it was soaking wet so I couldn't sign the log.
Thanks for a very interesting experience

Found at 16:20 with Olga. Our third time here. The grass was long and we got seeds in our socks. There was a still-smouldering fire under the big gum tree.
Story to say, the newest log book was wet, but was usable.
I can't imagine what would have happened to me if I did a Huurtle.
Thanks Z

Going to another in the area, we thought we'd just come by to look. Like the last finder, it was easier than expected, but hadn't brought a pen. So took a photo of the smelly log book as evidence. The Zantac tube was all dry inside, but everything else was wet. It didn't help that the containers weren't done up very tight.
Loved the cache otherwise. Thanks for brining us here. A Fav.

Didn't even take a pen with me because I wasn't really going for the cache, just wanted to check out the area for when I have a free arvo. So off for a bit of a walk down to the bottom towards GZ, hey look at that, can't come this far and not continue, oooo that looks like a big drop, or at the moment a bit of a swim. Ended up getting the cache pretty easily.
A lot of water has been in there, is there an award for smelliest cache? Used the lead out of the mushy pencil that was in there to sign the log.
Was a bit surprised to come out of there with a smiley on the map.

I wasn't feeling up to taking up the offer to go climbing around Morialta with 3LG today, so decided to stick to the midweek plan of heading down to look at a particular pair of caches which had piqued my interest soon after I started caching. Since RideTheGeoWalrus and Dennisc52 had partied too hard over the weekend, they also did not want to come caching so it ended up being only muggle partner, Brodie dog and myself who ventured forth for the almost 100km round trip to get 2 caches..
We had a lovely time wandering through an area that is still 'country' despite the very near industrial and housing developments.
Having been at a pub lunch (not long after I started caching) when a geocacher came in telling a tale of a near death experience and the dangers of geocaching, I was made aware of this cache
So since then, it has been on my 'have to do list'!
Today was the day and as we parked and walked towards this apparently dangerous spot, apart from enjoying the Monarch butterflies and caterpillars, there was a sense of apprehension: what were we going to encounter[?], what were we going to have to undertake[?], just how bloody hard was this going to be[?] [?]
Having done Amongst Ya Dirty Knees! which has a similar, but I think slightly smaller, entrance we had an easy start to our adventure.
In we went, with a torch each to light our way and Brodie dog even followed us in, too......I think he was too scared to stay outside on his own
Sadly, our journey of adventure ended all too soon and then it was cache retrieval time....now, who would hang and who would hold[?]
We had even brought a fishing rod and squid jag in case fishing the depths was required!
In the end, it was all a moot point anyway as the person who doesn't like geocaching but often seems to dive on the cache before I can get it stated he had the cache on its way and soon enough, we had the cache in hand!
That water sure smells!! Especially when I had to hold the cache between my knees for grip while muggle partner used his larger hands to open it and the smelly water ran down my jeans We opened the cache, drained what we could and then opened the container to see....two soaking wet logs inside water filled plastic bags.
Not knowing what to expect, I had taken a couple of different sized Sistemas and log books in with me, hoping to replace the wet log. However neither Sistema would fit into the cache and Sistemas aren't really waterproof anyway. I took the liberty of placing a zantac tube with a few sheets of paper inside it into the cache in the hope that future finders may have something dry to log on, although I am not sure how waterproof those tubes are, either[?]
All in all, a fun cache albeit almost an anti climax after the all of the previous hype had led me to think it was dangerous........ or maybe it was just that I was still shaking from Dam Mad and therefore wasn't as scared here Are there any more of these cool sites in SA[?]

Our very first cache ever!!! and right on our doorstep. Cousins Jim and Elsbeth assisted us in retrieving the cache. Well and truly hooked now. TFTC!
A great cache found by husband and cousin. Unfortunately everything in the box was too wet to sign. A great first cache for our cousin Cludgey Minger, and our first cache in Australia.
Awesome cache! I've been watching this cache with interest for ages & been meaning to check it out. As I had an errand to run in Hallet Cove this arvo I thought I do some reconnaissance. Having read the dire warnings & the latest note posted by the cache owner, I expected that to retrieve the cache I'd have to return at a later date with snorkel gear & a support crew. Upon arriving at the cache site & shining my torch down the abyss I was surprised to find that I was still able to retrieve the cache no problems at all & without even getting wet. Unfortunately, the cache container was full of water, so I was unable to sign the sodden log, so I took a photo instead.
The cache site is interesting. I'm amazed that the council has not blocked off the entrance to this abandoned mine shaft - it certainly could pose a risk to the unwary explorers, especially those without a torch. Abandoned mine shafts aside, this is surprisingly pleasant spot tucked away on the banks of the Field River. Even though you are only a few hundred meters from houses & Lonsdale Hwy you really feel like you are miles from suburbia.
Thanks heaps, Zytheran for some good entertainment & taking me to interesting spot.

Terrain rating is back up to the original of 5.
Please be aware that retrieving this geocache is now extremely challenging and must be attempted by teams of at least 2. Under no circumstance attempt retrieval by yourself. Getting this wrong and it will be your last DNF.
If using this cache for T/D requirements please be aware over the years the T has varied so make a note of the date you found this and don't claim this as a T=5 when you retrieved it using the easier temporary method.

Find no. 69 and my favourite so far, unfortunately I stuffed up when returning it home. I think it may be hard for the next hunter as I accidentally let the oily wire go. Not sure how to retrieve without equipment. Very sorry im willing to help if needed. Geo BeRad
And here I was all grate up to go for a bit of a swim... Ah well, as with others the hardest part was opening the container. Awesome cache though, in my experience one of the best in metro Adelaide. As other have said, in surprised its still here being so close to houses. Left a tb.
Tiger Muffin had told us about this cache on our last visit to Adelaide but we ran out of time to have a look at this one. Today was to be our day and were very pleased to be able to put a smile on this one.
It was decided that the smaller muff1 would hang over the edge and the larger muff1 would hold her feet in case any sliding action happened, he being the stronger. The plan involved laying down and slithering closer to the edge and then reaching over, OK that part worked had something in my hand that I hoped would lead us to a cache. Yep, that also worked, but then needed hubby to open the container, so pleased that he was there. I never can get my hand to spread that far. SL TFTC

Wow! Great spot, who would have thought that a cave like this would still exist so close to housing etc I am surprised it hasn't been boarded up and locked away yet! TFTC Zytheran - a favorite from us!!
Read the logs for this one back in February, but today was the first time I had the opportunity to give this one the attention it needed.
AWESOME hide. Thanks for the adventure.
AWESOME hide. Thanks for the adventure.
After the euphoria of our 1,000th cache we still had a bit of energy in us to attempt another adventure. So after a short drive and short descend we ended up at this very tantalising location. I had read all the cache notes and previous logs so I had a fair idea what to expect. The entrance was nice and muddy, but once inside the going was quite comfortable and the 'danger spot' was quickly discovered.
Time for the kids to follow, but a big black spider at the entrance made them a bit scared to go through with it all. However after a few encouraging words the torches were turned on and the cache was retrieved from the depths.
I nearly had to log a DNF as the lid was very tightly shut, but with a bit of persusion we finally got to the logbook and called an end to a very adventurous afternoon.
It also was our 99th Z-find, so now we just got to find a way to get up north for Z's C.....
