Unfortunately, Wp1 has gone missing. I've decided this one has had its day so it's time to open up the location for a new cache to be placed. This was one of my early cache hides.
Thanks to the 167 finders and commiserations to the 33 geocachers who logged a DNF. A special thank you to the 25 (24%) Premium Members who awarded The Rock Star a Favourite Point. I really appreciated it.

No luck for me here. I spent a long time searching for the waypoint, but it hasn't been found by anyone this year, and it escaped me too. And unlike the other recent visitors, I couldn't think of where I'd even start to look for the cache - the gardens are lovely, but a micro could be anywhere!
I enjoyed reading up on Edgeworth David, and had an excellent stickybeak at the community garden - their brassicas are doing better than mine! But I'll have to leave a sad face here for now.

This was not a good start to the day with ilook4geo. We arrived at WP1 and searched with the hint in mind, but couldn't find what we needed. Spent quite a bit of time, only stopping when various muggles wandered along. No luck. Before we got too frustrated we decided to stop and reassess. Then we let geo instinct kick in. The bush turkeys looked on from the ground and the trees, the kookaburras found our efforts hilarious and we happily found the cache.
We were glad to sign the log, although it looked like some muggle kids had also found it, going by the names on it.
Thank you to Calypso62 for placing this cache. A FP for this one.

Shared the find here with goingplaces2 but didn't find it in the usual way. Just couldn't seem to pick up WP1 so used instinct to find the cache container. Plenty of bush turkeys around here, but they wouldn't help us. Log was signed and replaced before we went on our way. TFTC.
Wp1 was harder than the actual find - after checking the attributes, I concluded that it would have been a certain type of physical I’ve seen c64 use before. A quick search before - aha!
Not too long before CIH. Decent container for the type of hide.

C5Star and dad crossed the bridge many times. Searched high and low. Only found spider webs and two empty cable ties.
Cache check completed while I was enjoying my lunch break.
Both Wp1 and the cache itself is in place and is in good condition.

Thanks to Rama497, this cache now has a new log and can be brought back into play.
I've had confirmation from Rama497 that Wp1 is in position, as is the cache container. Unfortunately though, the log is completely saturated. Disabling until the log can be replaced.
. Did not get past first base. Do not pass go. Straight to DNF. I searched the entire bridge from one end to the other. Even a Bush Turkey came to help. Rechecked again after reading the hint. Lots of spiders, and slugs, oh it is so ,moist in here today. Found a spot that had 2 cable ties attached that could have been holding something in place. That was it for me.
Now that the NSW Government is beginning to ease lockdown restrictions, it’s time to bring my caches back into play.
Just a reminder, a fundamental rule of geocaching is that, in order to be able to log a cache find online, you must retrieve the cache container and sign the physical log located in that container. Failure to comply may result in your online log being removed.
I know the Covid virus is still about so please take precautions to keep yourself and those around you from harm by doing things such as wearing gloves to handle geocaches as well as using hand sanitiser regularly.
Keep safe everyone and enjoy your geocaching activities.
Cheers,
Calypso62

The Covid situation in Greater Sydney is still critical. As a result, this cache remains disabled for the time being. I'm monitoring the situation and will bring the cache back online when appropriate to do so.
To help stop the spread of Covid-19, the NSW Government has ordered everybody to stay at home unless you are: shopping for essentials, receiving medical care, exercising or travelling to work or education.
While some people would regard going geocaching as a form of exercise, it is my personal opinion that this activity is a non-essential one, perhaps involving unnecessary travel and therefore should not be undertaken during this time of crisis.
Who knows how long this current lockdown will last! Right now, every one of us has an important part to play in helping to keep our families, friends and the wider community safe in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, by staying home.
As a result of the health authority’s directive, I have decided to disable this cache and respectfully request that no person seek out and claim a find whilst this cache is disabled.
Thank you for your cooperation. I look forward to bringing my caches back into play as soon as the health crisis abates.

A DNF, but that’s not unusual for me. I will try again next week when I walk the dogs in this atea again.
After I posted the DNF I thought to myself “maybe if I just walk around this beautiful garden and check certain places I might be Lucky”. Guess what I was!!
As the NSW Government is now beginning the process of easing some of the Covid-19 restrictions, it is appropriate that my geocaches be brought back into play.
**Please Remember - It is still very important to exercise social distancing while you are out and about and to practise good hand hygiene after touching caches out in the geo-wild.

An after work cache for me today on a nice warm afternoon.
It took me a while to find the coords at WP1. I was worried for a time that they might have disappeared when the railing that was recently broken came down but with a bit of persistence i was able to locate them in a different spot.
I found the GZ interesting and the hint from WP1 made for an easy find.
Thanks.

Nostalgia trip !!!
I spent a large portion of my primary school days gazing at Edgeworth David Avenue from the old wooden verandahs outside the Waitara Public classrooms from which I had been summarily banished for one alleged misdemeanour or another.
My mother, driving past, on her way to the shops, would pretend not to see me.
It was nice to have this solitary time to daydream, listen to the birds tweeting, plot further mischief - and consider how next time not to get caught....
Anyway, it's been a few weeks at least since I had my last Calypso-Cache Fix, and this neat multi was starting to look a bit lonely - so off I went in the valiant hope of a mutual rescue.
I'd like to be able to say that I had to fight the usual serpents and bridge trolls, climb trees, ride boats, undo puzzle boxes etc etc - normally expected in the pursuit of one of Mr C's creations, but this time it was really smooth sailing. WP1 found immediately. And GZ gave up its prize without drama. WOW !!!!!
Thank you Mr C, for a most enjoyable excuse to reminisce. Favourite point!

Cache check completed while I was on a break. Both components to this multi are in position.
Was passing by so stopped for a check. Both Wp1 and cache are in position ready for the next geocacher to come searching.
Yes! 3rd attempt at finding WP1 lucky! After finding more of the CO's caches lately I had more of an idea of what to look for and I was correct. I found the cache at GZ not long after searching. Tftc!
Another cracking cache from Calypso62!
We used to live in this area, and the last time I walked around these gardens was the day my daughter was born, so it was really lovely to revisit and appreciate the peace without having to pause for contractions every 5 minutes!
That WP1 was very sneaky. Favourite point awarded for the attention to detail and painfully and specifically accurate clues

Dad had already made this find, but he made me find the waypoint and the cache by myself. TFTC.
Well I'll have to give up this hobby.
How I missed WP1 about a month ago I don't know! My eyes and fingers must not have been attached to the brain. The geo-instinct was correct but that did not help me find what I needed so I contacted the CO who provided information to check where I'd already spent a long time checking with no success. Today I was back in Hornsby, back in Edgeworth David Garden, back at WP1 but this time there it was!
Off to GZ. There it was a simple find.
I had plenty of time so had a good look at the community garden and the old house and surrounds. Love it!
It would definitely have been a wonderfully peaceful location with beautiful views to spend your leisure years. I could live here.
(Shame about the traffic noise these days.)

P.S. I've got that stamp!

Dropped by on the way home from work. WP1 was a very clever hide - took me a while even though I was paying attention to the hints. The final hide is really good. A most enjoyable find. I've lived around Hornsby my whole life and had never been down here before. TFTC.
Kind of had an idea of what I was looking for at WP1 after doing a few of the COs caches recently. Headed to GZ to realise why the cache was named as such. Quick find and sign. TFTC
TFTF. Thanks to CALYPSO62 for clarification. Fun find. Geokids enjoyed exploring.
I have always wanted to visit this park, having driven past it countless times. Today I had the opportunity for both a pleasant walk and the chance to grab a multi-cache, which was achieved with little difficulty. Thanks Calypso62.
Checked to see if Wp1 was in position and it was right where it should be. I walked to GZ and noted the cache was also in position. I left it in situ as there were muggles about. I notice there's a new community garden being built in this area.

What a great place...I've driven past here many times and had no idea it was here. I found the info at WP1 after a few minutes searching and set off for GZ. The GPS was bouncing around a bit but a search of some likely places soon revealed some camo and the cache. A well thought out and placed multi.
The name says it all. Had me stumped on WP1. I’ll have to come back and look for you, you well hidden bugga
I couldnt find the WP1 i think it has gone missing but i proceeded to look for cache. Using the name "The Rock Star" as my clue i ended finding the cache.
After spending all day at Hornsby Court, I needed a cache to clear the cobwebs. After driving to the park, and a little bit of a search, I found WP1 and went onto WP2. Saw something worth checking out on approach and sure enough, I had CIH. No teenage trolls about but sadly, there were plenty of tell tale signs that they've been here. Cache# 616 TFTC
Coastblue alerted me to a possible issue with Wp1 so I swung by today to check on it. WP1 is indeed missing. It shouldn't take me too long to replace it.
Waypoint 1 is still a mystery to me. I spent an hour there looking, feeling and I couldn’t find it. Taking a walk through the garden, I thought I’d attempt finding the final without the coords as I was running out of time. If that failed, it would be a message to Calypso for help. Looking in all of the obvious spots, I finally came across this one! What a sneaky little hide, I think I touched it several times before I realised it wasn’t set in stone! Gorgeous and tranquil little garden. TFTC!
Wow well thats was super tough, but we have come to expect that from Calypso62. Took quiet a bit of time searching for WP1 so sent a quick msg to CO whom helped us with a clue. TFTC.
Finally got there!!! WP1 had us searching for a while but after looking and feeling from many different angles and putting a quick message out to the owner for a little clue we discovered what we wanted. Tricky little one calypso and thanks so much as always for a great little multi
Knowing that oldmorty and I would be back in the area today, and not wanting to leave empty-handed, I messaged the CO last night for some help. My intention was to return to the posted co-ordinates and search again, and if we were unsuccessful, I would magically produce the message from the CO. But, not being able to resist a peek, I decrypted the message and waived it in front of oldmorty this morning.
We arrived at the posted co-ordinates and found WP1. (I'm sure this wasn't here last time.) Retrieving information at WP1, we headed off in search of GZ. After searching a while (co-ordinates not very clear under the trees), I suddenly remembered the additional piece of information from WP1. Relating this to oldmorty, he soon had CIH. Thanks Calypso62

Well I've been waiting a while to get back to this cache after a previous DNF and when I awoke this morning with frazeydaze waving her I pad l knew today was the day as she had received some intel overnight from the CO. We parked near the listed coords and approached the bridge to find a couple of trolls settling down for an afternoon's something under the bridge. After a few minutes frazeydaze found the necessary information at WP1 with both of us saying I'm sure we looked there last time. No worry, and off we went to WP2 to search for the cache which we eventually found in its hidey hole. SL and replaced as found. TFTC Calypso62.
Well today’s the day and what a day it was. frazeydaze after success with the CO’s cache “At The Governor’s Pleasure” earlier in the year has been planning a further assault on a number of the CO’s multi’s on the upper north shore; namely, Circuit Training, Meggsie’s Mural, Thanks a Million Max, The Rock Star, Stayin’ Alive, The Message and Where’s the KABOOM.
In preparation, yesterday morning frazeydaze handed me a handful of printed matter that she said would help me in my quest tomorrow. I clearly needed a clipboard to contain the matter and something firm to fill in the necessary answers after working out the maths. I don’t own a clipboard so it was off to Office Works. It will probably come in handy as an assault on a bag of mystery caches at Helensburgh is in the planning stages.
This was the next cache on frazeydaze's dgenda for the day and the less I say about it the better for we spent the best part of an hour searching for WP1. That little bridge will give me nightmares. I did notice that a fair amount of clearing has been done but not a lot of planting in the community garden. TFTC Calypso62.

This was the 3rd of Calypso62’s caches for the day. Oldmorty and I will have to come back to this another day. We spent a good hour removing all the spider webs from the bridge walkway. In writing this …….. I’ve just thought of something. Hold on ………….. I’ll be back.

Located the cache though through meandering!

With a bus drivers strike in the Inner West today I decided to avoid the area and rely on trains for my caching adventure.
I had selected two multis and a Mystery around Hornsby.
Arriving at structure at WP1 I readied myself for quite a battle as the logs suggested this was going to be difficult.......and difficult it was!
I gave up after about half an hour and went for a little wander around the very sweet gardens.
Something I'd read in one of the logs have my geo-antennae twitching. I hadn't intended on looking for the cache, just wanted to refresh my eyes and head before heading back to the bridge but something just felt right, I moved something and there it was!
I will return and seek the item at WP1 in the very near future.

Found whilst on a shopping trip to Hornsby. 1st of 3 finds for the day.
It had been about 18 months since I attempted this one, failing to find the WP1 clue on that occasion, and so it was well overdue for a revisit. After parking the geomobile close to the cache, in Sherbrook Road, we walked up to the Hornsby shopping area, then returned to the reserve to have another go at the cache.
Started searching the main feature at WP1 and, after about 10 minutes, we spotted the very well camoed information we were seeking. Well I can see how I missed it on my previous visit, as it blends in perfectly with it's surroundings and is not easy to spot. And, with the GPSr loaded with the new coords, it was off to final GZ.
Arrived at final GZ and made a quick find. TNLNSL, and replaced as found. TFTC Calypso62.

Find #1717
I came across to find this one after finding nearby puzzle cache "what ails thee". Locating waypoint one was proving to be as difficult as solving the puzzle. I knew what I was looking for being familiar with Calypso62 MO. I swept the area twice without luck. I then decided to read some log which gave me the barest of hints of a area to look. Bingo found it. The GZ and cache were soon located and log signed. Thank you Calypso62 for another incarnation. The cache is in good condition. Cheers
I was in the vicinity for a break so checked on my cache. All components are in position and ready to be found. Cache on.......
It's taken me 16 months since my DNF in September 2015 but at last I finally got there! From WP1 being missing on my first attempt, to knocking it off the bridge and almost losing it on the second, to today when I had the chance to put the final coordinates to the test.
In the end it was almost an anticlimax as I spotted the cache's hiding place straight away. Log signed, I was able to explore this nice little park some more before heading off on the day's chores.
Many thanks for this interesting adventure.

Out for the day doing a few geos so had to pick this one up as well. I better do my shoelace up before going to the next one
I found first one followed my geo sisters to next one I let them try to find it and they did
Did a check on WP1 and replaced it into the correct location. I also checked the cache was still in position. Unfortunately, this once beautiful reserve seems to have fallen into a bit of disrepair so it's not the lovely peaceful location it once was. There's been a bit of tree felling and plant clearing going on in the area. I'll leave the cache in position for the time being and monitor the situation.

I was passing this cache yesterday and decided to have another look for WP1, but in feeling for it I dislodged it from its hiding place and it dropped to the stream bank below. I was able to retrieve it, and will put the information to good use next time I'm in the area, but I'm not sure if I rehid it in the correct place or manner as I couldn't see where it dropped from, although it should be fairly close.
Cache check completed. All is well this this hide. Unfortunately, the graffiti vandals have been at work with evidence of their "handiwork" everywhere. It's still quite a peaceful place to come to.
wp1 was tough! I looked for ages and must have stared straight through it, even though the hint made it clear where to look. What a relief to find it. I went to the right GZ first time and missed it, not realising what thw hint meant until after I looked in a couple of other places first. I was also confronted by a rooster.

A week ago I made an attempt on finding this cache, but the clue on waypoint 1 could not be found, despite my checking of the bridge from all angles and still could not find the clue.
After a hint from Calypso62 I returned back to the bridge, and on touch I discovered the clue to the next, and final waypoint.
That was also quite an interesting place, and I now understood the title of the cache. After a thorough search the tiny canister was found and satisfied I added my name to the list!
Thanks for the cache, Calypso62.

Soon after leaving last time, a SMS came through telling me what to look for, and in case it was gone, rough directions to the final.
Was in the area again today, and went to WP1 do do a quick confirmation that it was missing. Except it wasn't, and the GeoWife found it in 3s. How did we miss it before?!? Weird how things go!

Had a good long look with the GeoWife but had no luck. Found out later what we should have been looking for - not quite what I was expecting, so maybe we overlooked it.
Spent some 20 mins at the WP1 but came back empty-handed. Some other day, then...
TFTH, Calypso62!

I've been in this location many times, lovely greenery and usually ducks. This day was after heavy rains and the crik flowed fast, ducks nowhere to be seen.

Ok! I spent to much time here, searching this and that before I text the CO for an extra hint. It turns out that I was looking in the wrong spot and yes I had a Doh moment. Once at GZ the cache was easily found.
Thanks C62 for the extra hint and bringing me to this lovely park.

Just upgraded our membership and chiming back in here to award a fave point - this is a great GC thanks Calypso62.
This was a monster! Tried to find WP1 three different times, with two different friends. Finally had to get help from Co. A sense of touch is key.
Very clever hide. Spent a lot of time looking the right way in the wrong place for wp1. The mozzies had a feast.

Did a cache check this afternoon to see about the ant issue. The council is doing some major cleaning up in this parkland so I'm wondering what plans they have for improvements. No ants found at GZ this afternoon so all is well at the moment. I'll come back in a few days and see what else has been done. For the time being, this cache is ready to be found.
Cache on...........

Good fun cache to find with the kids. Mind the mozzies though (my advice - use aerogard). When you get to the second phase, make sure to get down low and watch out for the ants if you do in fact move anything...
Great GC, very enjoyable! You can tell a bit of thought and effort went into this one. I will try and seek out a few more Calypso GCs just that its not a normal area for me. If/ when I become a full member I will mark this one as a favourite. My first MC. T4TC #19
The bugs were certainly out in force at this cache. As dad mentioned, we really only thought of putting the bushmans spray on -after- we'd already been attacked by mozzies Apart from that, the waypoint was well placed and blended in excellently (we had a location hint from some other geotrekkers!), and once at GZ it was a quick find ...although had to find a stick to dislodge it from the spot as it was swarming with ants!! Signed log and replaced just before some other geotrekkers came around the bend ;p TFTC!
I moved mountains (in a figurative sense) to make sure I could attend this year's 'GEOTREK Meet'n'Greet - 2016', after having stacks of fun at the last one in 2014. I had to be in Marrickville / Earlwood in the afternoon for my footy pre-season match and was flying out the next morning to the United States. It was going to be tight and, unfortunately, a good chance we would not make it to the end of the GEOTREK course. Morry9 came over to mine and we headed over to Epping Station to collect AlphaDeltaIndigo on the way. We met up with Calypso62's lil' helper, Skyebomonkeytown in Galston Park at the start of the course, and stayed for a brief chat with a small group hanging around the sheds, including The Hancock Clan, Seemyshell and Ali600. We could not stay for long and had to get our skates... we worked through the first section of the GEOTREK course and found a few caches along the way.
The first geocache pitstop was at 'Road Block' at Galston. I had solved this Mystery Cache when it was first published but knew I would be beaten to the First To Find, so left it until now. The next cache was 'The Rock Star' at Hornsby. The Multicache was a good opportunity for a short lunch break in the Edgeworth David Garden.
We continued on the course a little while longer but had to concede and retire towards Marrickville for my footy match. Thankfully, traffic was not as bad as predicted and we had time to pick up a few on the way, including 'Lewisham Landmarks #1', 'Fraser Park Canteen' in Marrickville and the 'You've Got Mail' Letterbox / Hybrid Cache in Sydenham. I dropped AlphaDeltaIndigo off at Tempe Station and morry9 accompanied me to the footy match, which ended up being a real solid hitout.
Thanks to Calypso62 for another enjoyable GEOTREK - a highly recommended event, hopefully it's on again next year! Also, thank you to the respective Cache Owners for their hides. For all of the cache finds today, Signed Log, Took Nothing Left Nothing.

Found while on Geotrek 2016 with SSSonya. Well placed cache and trek clue. Thankfully we had bushman's spray, but only used it after the itchy stinging evidence of mossies being there (odd logic there somewhere). Tricky WP1, but SSSonya grabbed it. Aggressive ants at GZ, but nothing well placed chop sticks couldn't handle. Again, SSSonya soon had CIH. Excellent hide. TFTC
We found the cache and signed the log, but gz is infested with black ants. We were afraid they might bite. A bit of maintenance required on the cache. Not sure how you can fix this issue though.
#3531- Having lagged somsway Behringd after the cache I stopped for, I finally caught up to everyone who was collecting information for the next geotrek question. This easy multi was at the location, and with some Intel from someone, it was very easy indeed. Thanks.
After a bit of a search for WP1 we were off to the final location for another quick find.

Found with JordsAu doing the geotrek. A lot of ants on the Entrance of the cache might need a mortine spry

Log is signed as ADI aka AlphaDeltaIndigo
Found with JordsAu and Morry9
While out on the geotrek, this little multi took us to a small trail by the side of a road!
Wp1 spotted by JordsAu. Cache removed from its ant house (black ants) by myself. Signed names and somehow managed to put it back without getting bitten by ants. But Mozzies took the opportunity to munch on my epidermis!

Ps- needs maintenance log coming next

We found this Multi on our way through the 2016 GeoTrek. Lovely spot. A few others on the trek were also hunting this one so when we got to GZ after finding WP1 we had to wait for everyone there to sign the log, but that was okay cause we didn't have to touch the ants!

#801.... found with our GeoTrekking convoy. Braved the ants....... and taught a few in the group a 'special' trick about ants!!
Thanks C62.... another great cache!

Found it on a glorious Sunday while attending the 2016 GeoTrek. We joined the family 4Rods to find this one. Nice to meet you. TFTC
FootyFanatics and I were participating in the 2016 Geotrek. Decided given its was the same CO (we love your work) it needed to be found. Thanks Calypso62.
Took a little while to locate Wp1 but got there in the end, nice one! Headed to GZ & SMS located the cache quickly. TFTC Calypspo62!

Found this one while on the GeoTrek. A few others were there as well which was nice to see. After a combined effort of searching for WP1, then made our way to the GZ. Lucky didn't have to go near the ants as there were others already signing the log. Nice spot. Thanks Calypso62!
