We are certain that we were searching in the correct location as there was a bundle of sticks between two trees.Sorry wbfoto (adopted by Throsbyonchurch) 4 August 2024
We searched all around after making a special detour to pick it up. Disappointing but we gave it a good go in the freezing cold. We actually think that it may be missing so it's worth that the CO has a look next time he passes.

**Today:**
Myself and sebass19 decided to head out to the "Hilltops" LGA to find some Sausages, Turtles, Frogs and a sleuth of other caches! We did a maintenance run for DSD's caches whilst we were at it too, tying up a few loose ends and making sure they were in good nick!
Ended up with 50 finds for the day, rare to get that many for a 'local' day out, although we did rack up a fair distance from home
**This Cache:**
Coords had us a little off, but the hint was a godsend to find this little container!

Picked this one upon the way home from a few nights at Wyangala. After searchig at gz for a while, I stepped back and went for somewhere that matched the hint - according to my gps 12m from gz. Nice to pick up a smiley. TFTC.
Initial bearings had me looking in the wrong location, but after moving away and reviewing the area I headed to the spot I suspected on arrival and soon had CIH. No signs of the pitch in the long grass today. TFTC.

What a spot for cricket. 6 and out if in the creek. Plenty if "scrubby" outfielders.
What better way to spend a cold & wet public holiday than to go caching with fitzy_1965.
Headed out to fill in a few gaps on the back roads.
Quick find here today.....glad to finally get this one off my watchlist.

Todays solo geo mission was boorawa, hovells creek, reids flat and up to whyangalla dam. A handful of caches, a few dnfs, plenty of roadkill and a near run in with a monster goanna. What a great day and enjoyed such scenic drives around too.
Cache 2519 on 6/5/17
SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to Cowra today. We planned to get to Grenfell and Young as well, but caching took longer than we thought - the GPS was also slow to point the right direction, maybe because of the clouds. Around 35 finds and 8 DNFs for the day (a few too many DNFs sadly). Thanks to SpecimenX for a fun day and a few exciting memories to keep! We signed with Penn (pen) or Teller (stamp) depending if the log was big enough.
12th cache for the day, as we hit the dirt roads on our way to Cowra. Quick find while the rain was coming down. No cricket pitch in evidence! Also glad to get 12 months of unlove on this one. TFTC.

After a bit of a geo hiatus, it was great to get out of the Can and set off for a geomission to Cowra with AngelG27. We had a great day collecting the caches as we went. A bit of a downer was the high number of DNF's due to missing containers, but the highlight of the day was seeing a Wedge-tailed eagle flying just over our car-awesome sight!
Onto the cache...
Quick park and grab on our journey. Log a little damp.

Found this cache quickly and easily pretty much where it was described. Thankfully it was not too close to the dead goat. We soon had the log signed and then everything was put back in its proper place. Thank you wbfoto for placing this cache so people can find it while travelling and enjoying some quiet country back roads.
Another one on the trail. Another film canister which has leaked and made the log soggy. Luckily I had a felt tipped pen that writes on anything. Signed and replaced.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Didn't see the pitch, and took a little while to find the cache as the coordinates were a bit out (for me anyway).
Eventually found. Thanks

This particular ground gave no signs that it ever was from the roadside.
So I settled for the history and a quick cache find [^]

Caching seems to be the answer! LOL ...
Quick find but unfortunately another wet log.
I'm not sure these containers hold up well in the wet.

After being couped up at home for over a week due to an ugly illness, cabin fever was setting in and I needed out for the day.
I decided to hit the country roads and head north for a while before coming back south. I had a very enjoyable day out along the dirt roads exploring the country side. Lots of nice areas and caches to make things even better
Thanks wbfoto for placing these caches, lovely area especially on a day like today.

Love how geocaching takes us to places we'd never dream of going to. Great photo ops around this area. Thanks
My mum and I found this cache while on my birthday caching trip around Cowra! We decided to go on a scenic caching route on the way back to Canberra - it included Frogmore.
After a short drive along the dirt track from Frogmore, we arrived at this cache. It was quite a hot day! We would have never known of the cricket pitch if it wasn't for this cache. It's interesting to see how nature takes over. After reading previous logs, we finally found the cache.
Our thanks to wbfoto!

We are really enjoying this beautiful countryside. So nice and peaceful! I am glad there is such a thing as geocaching otherwise we would have missed this all. Just wondering why there is / was a cricket pitch here in the middle of nowhere though! Cache was easily found, log a bit damp but still writeable. BTW this was our find 1800! TFTC wbfoto.
Quick find on a day out with the Stormcatchers. It was like Pitt Street with all the traffic. I guess there is no cricket played on the distance pitch anymore . TFTC
Out driving around with MNJontour ,Mrs M dropped off the geocrew and did the turn around here in the 4wd..road suddenly got very busy. Coords seemed a little out on this one but the hint helped narrow it down. Some moisture in the cache. TFTf
I found this cache today after a two day deer hunting trip, no deer, so I bagged a cache instead, it was a while ago I found the last wbfobo cache, so I'm happy to do another one.
The cache is a bit wet so the C.O might want to check it soon.
Thanks again.............

Found the cache but not an oval and cricket pitch as we were expecting. Thanks wbfoto.

We had an adventurous drive here. An huge Echidna decided it was time to take a break in the middle of the road. "STOP" I yelled to Spock1967. " I wanna take a pic." Out of the car I jumped and proceeded to follow the prickly fellow, iPad in hand, to take the money shot. Well, I don't know if it was that good but I think it posed for me. I saw that he (or she) got off the road and into safe cover before we drove off to find the old SCG.
What a nice area to be on a Sunday afternoon. Found the cache with little problem. Thoroughly enjoyed the drive, although, where's the pitch?

Didn't spy any cricket(s) from here, although lots of huntsmen spiders in the area.
EEEEK! I saw no sign of a cricket pitch but I saw a rock that looked rather 'cachey' and went to lift it to be rewarded, not with a cache, but with a LOT of spiders. Now those who know me realised I am NOT good with spiders and even though I know huntsmans are not dangerous when you come across several of them at once then the BatGirl-spider-dance get's enabled (eeeek-squeal-jump-twirl-chasse-chasse-aarrgghghg). Apparently a collective of spiders is called a 'clutter' or a 'cluster' ....I just call it WAY TOO MANY!
Oh yes...and we found the cache too.

Pulled up near GZ and then gizzmo decided it would shut down but with the clue in hand was able to walk straight to cache and sign log. Thanks for the hide. Cheers . PS the willy wagtails were going ballistic when I went near GZ. Thought they were going to attack me and I was scared. LOL.
third dnf for the day. the rains have really multiplied the ground growth, obliterating any clue. there are definitely better options here with a bit of thought.
Got to the intersection and I felt this is like that spot on Supernatural ... well thats another story, Sheep didn't seem to enjoy my company and wandered off when I approached GZ, It took a bit of search but found it , I should have trusted my first instinct.
next the problem when stopping at intersections that Tomtom gets mighty confused and it took me 3 attempts to get the right road to move out on , as you may know tomtom will use any road as long as you don't mind driving an extra 10-20 kms to turn around doh but I was on to that trick.

So not a cricketer. The flat round expanse revealed not a lot to me however assured by Winglen and McPhan there is a pitch out there, I think..

I like these old gems that are almost lost. This reminds me of a cache near Katherine, NT which marked an old neglected pitch near the highway. Thanks wbfoto.
4374. [font=Century Gothic][green]This reminded me of a the Meerlieu ground in Victoria, although that was turf. The home team had to chase the sheep off the ground before play could commence. It too wasn't too level. Zsazsa7 made the find while Mrs Winglen collected seeds.

A nice quick find, almost a drive by. We couldn't see the cricket pitch because of the long grass, we weren't about to go looking for it either as the grass seeds from earlier caches are slowly working there way through our socks. We would love to know more about what cricket teams played here and how long ago, it seems like such an out of the way place now but perhaps it wasn't years ago. Thanks for the cache wbfoto
Ok was a quick find on our to the East to stop over night at the caves. As the grass is all very long hard to see anything but grass for miles. Good to see the counrty looking so good.

There is a concrete pitch in there somewhere grass may be a bit long. We will upgrade containers along this series as they appear to be a popular run..
Cricket ground???? Well that could leave the cache anywhere!! Thankfully easy find No. 9 for our Boorowa run. It would be good to see some of these micros upgraded to lager containers.
