A nice day outside led to an early finish from work, and I needed to get back down south on an errand. It was just timely that a few new caches had been published, including a multi in Onkaparinga River National Park. So that was a target with gridge98, followed by a few caches north of McClaren Vale. A pleasant evening on a nice winter day (just sad that it happened to be on a work day), and in time before the sky's rain forecasted for later in the week.
One of the last that I needed to find in the vicinity, and didn't take long to find in a usual hiding place. gridge98 had already found this one, so he waited behind in the car. Container and contents in good shape, thanks bregor.

On the way to a cycling race this morning I decided to do a bit of caching to kill some time. Quick find TFTC
You know it's a Girls' Caching Day Out when you are already on plan C before leaving the Rathole. This could have been a quick drive through the vineyards to get to, but Owl did the right thing and took the long way around. Then the girls looked like dumb tourists to put off the farm workers and a quick find had them on their way again.
I met up with Froghopping for the first of probably many treks into the Onkaparinga River National Park on the search for those elusive smileys. It was decided we would start in the southeast corner and work our way around clockwise and see how far and wide we could get in a six or seven hours. Turns out we did about 20 kms of hiking and went up 120 floors of elevation in doing it. [B)] We got about a dozen in the park and a few just outside. Gonna take a few more trips. [:o)]
Then it was time to head off to a puzzled puzzler meeting. But of course we had a bit of time to make a few stops on the way. Despite my company already having done this I just couldn't drive past it! A quick find and sign in the obvious spot.
**Thanks bregor for this cache. **

Another very late night at work. I looked for an easy to find drive by cache which I could pick up with minimum of fuss by torchlight. TFTC.
A fabulous view. Had to de-web and de-spider the hole before reaching in to grab this one.

After trekking through a winery on roads the GPSr believed existed and which turned out to be inaccessible,
I finally found myself on the right road.
Number twenty eight was a significant number for a young Matty.
Bit of a walk through the long grass, but cache was found safely.
No nasty guardians today!

Down this way today to do some cache maintenance so we grabbed some caches while we were here, a nice quick find for us today. TFTC
My family in Melbourne gave us a voucher for D'Arries Verandah Restaurant many months ago, so today was the day that we redeemed it.
This was one of a handful of caches we found whilst there.
I had a good poke around with a stick before picking it up.

Mr Tardis was out for a quick caching run around McLaren Vale today. I parked nearby and took a few more than 28 steps to get to GZ. I hope I burned more than 28 calories on my caching run today.
I found the cache in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache bregor.

Muggle partner had to put in his mother's new stove, so I got to cache down south
I needed some more of my current favourite red wine from the winery that the Hope Farm geocache is situated at and so grabbed my eldest grand daughter, Destiny, before heading over there.
On the way back we found several caches and apparently Destiny now wants to go and find more...pity her parents
By day's end, I had 10 smileys
Fancy finding twentyeight on the 28th!
Unplanned and unexpected but fun nonetheless.
A quick find not too far from my red wine supplier

TFTC. Worked on the vines a few years ago when they were just planted. Nostalgic road.
Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia.
Currently camped with our Caravan at Kuitpo. We left our Cat safely tucked up in the caravan and set off.
Today we needed to head to McLaren Vale to see a computer expert [xx(] After that meeting it was time to explore.
Lucky for us the day turned out to be the best weather of the week! Managed to grab 33 smilies today. What a magnificent day.
Presumably this cache is named after the 'parrots' ? Grabbed the cache quickly between passing cars. Lots of activity in the nearby vineyard.

Drive past here every day ... sneaky one without the geo kids on the way to work. TFTC
Found while staying in McLaren Vale for a couple of weeks. Hoping to find some caches while in the area and this is our first. Lovely views of the vineyards

Slight detour for a nice drive by. Still amazes me how many grape vines we have in this area. TFTC
Tis a very. Big view and ooh so peaceful birds whistling, sun shining and a few baby magpies calling out. Signed the log then stood and admired the view for a while. Good one Bregor and thanks for bringing us to this spot.
Funny thing a about McLaren Vale... Even if after living in the area for years, I find that there are still little back roads & scenic gems like this to discover! Thanks heaps for bringing me here, and I do love a really quick & easy grab cache.
