Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
We were on a bike ride of Port Lincoln, starting on the Investigators Trail near the servo. We can see why the road was moved.. vehicle drivers aren't keen about being on a road that's being eroded away down to the waters edge but walkers and cyclists take a different view. What a great track! Found the cache and continued on. TFTC wheres_wolly_sharon.
Leaving Port Lincoln today and heading to Whyalla to hit some of the trails. Enjoying my time over on this side.
Out doing my two favourite things with geodog Tonka. Driving and caching Coordinate Accuracy: perfect Cache Condition: goodTook: nothingLeft: nothingTFTC
With easy road access, I didn’t have to far to walk to claim this smiley. Although it took a lot of feigning phone calls and looking busy while many juggle walkers made their way past. Eventually I was able to make the find without being observed. TFTC!
Maintenance run today. Log book and plastic bag replaced.
Happy caching and safe travels!

3rd cache for the day and easy to find after looking at the hint. No creepy crawlies today thankfully.

Fifth find of the day, thought I knew pretty quickly where this one was and I was right. Thank you ️
With rain coming later today we decided to range north of PL with iluvtrekking to grab some caches. Quick find here with safe pull off from highway nearby. Thanks wheres wolly
Another cache found with richlink.
We found various places along the highway to park and walk and climb to GZ. TFTC.
Thank you so much to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained caches for the enjoyment of all.

We had a really fun day caching around Port Lincoln with ilook4geo. Some roads gave the most beautiful views of the very green scenery, the yellow of the canola and water views as well.
This cache was one of the ones we found and all was replaced as it had been found once both names had been added to the log. Thank you to wheres wolly for placing this cache for us to find today.

Staying in Port Lincoln for a while so went out caching with goingplaces2. Enjoyed the country road driving and picking up some caches along the way. Cache was retrieved, log was signed, all was replaced. Job done! TFTC.
That took longer than it should have. Very apt container colour. Thank you for the placement of this cache wheres wolly find number 7380 at 19 February 2021 3:43 pm
Day 10 of our Eyre Peninsula caravan odyssey with the geo-pup, around Port Lincoln

Found as I was leaving Port Lincoln on my homeward leg of the round EP caching tour. Thanks wheres wolly.
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
After having a successful day yesterday, we awoke with motivation and optimism for the day that was ahead of us. However after having our first geocache find, a rock had hit the vehicle's oil sump, leaving the car inoperable and requiring the car to be towed to a mechanic in Port Lincoln. The morning was then spent addressing the vehicle's repair plan, and then trying to salvage the remainder of our weekend's plans. We walked around the centre of Port Lincoln, before finding a hire vehicle for us, and then the afternoon was spent driving around the area. It was interesting seeing Port Lincoln's marinas and also caught glimpse of the shark cages. We ended up drowning our sorrows in the evening (whilst celebrating gridge98's birthday) at the craft brewery, which was probably a highlight of the day.
Our first cache find for the day, and I actually had a bit of trouble locating this one. I tried looking where the hint suggested, and couldn't find anything, so ended up looking around the area. I found a full dinosaur in a nearby rock, and thought that that had something to do with the cache, but just a convenient red herring. I returned to where I had first looked, and lo and behold, the cache appeared. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

This took a bit of finding but thanks to the hint it was found then a few mins to get the log book out.
Well what a day it was, a day filled with more downs than ups and but overall a few caches were found in and around port Lincoln. Davidwazza and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula for a weekend away to clean up as much as we could and collect a few new LGAs for Davidwazza. This morning 2nd cache in we ended up cracking the oil sump in the car and having to sort out what to do and how to fix the issue. Lucky a mechanic was at hand and a prolonged trip was soon scheduled and a hire car was in hand. I guess things happen when you use a car for things that it’s not made to do.
Other than that a great day out.
Thanks for the cache

Found on a morning walk in port lincoln while on our lap of Aust. Cache and log in good condition. Thanks for the cache
We were able to find a safe parking spot quite close to GZ. From there it was a short walk to GZ where accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks wheres wolly for the cache.
Found at 11:14 AM GAFF3.
This was a bit of a stuff up as we started looking in the wrong rock and then declared that the cache had disappeared and we were going to help out the CO by replacing it. However just as we were going to do all of that, c-pprass checks another rock and voila! [:o)]

Today my car was booked in for a service in town, so I tried a couple of local caches before my batteries ran flat. Once I had the car back, I headed out of town. This was very close to my previous find, and was nice and quick.
My thanks to wheres wolly for the cache.

Our second DAY IN Pt Lincoln and it was time to focus on caching in Lincoln itself and potential surrounds. It was a cold and grey day interspersed with rain, which was a bit of a downer when compared to the sunshine of the last few days. Despite this we were able to still able to make a good day of it, finding over 50 caches, though it was also a day of quality as well with some higher terrain caches as well. It was an enjoyable day as we were able to tick off some earmarked caches before we finally finished up at around seven.

Exploring the country side around Port Lincoln as part of our 4 day visit to the city. Lots of interesting roads to travel, views to see and caches to find. Thanks to the COs who have placed them for our enjoyment.
Once again we are touring Australia and caching as we go!
Nice to see they are putting the old road to good use.
Thanks for placing a cache here wheres wolly!
Cheers from Canada!

We wouldn't have known this place existed without this cache. Thank you. Beware the cliff about 30m from the cache. TFTC
CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!
We found the cache without any muggles seeing us

Found by torchlight!!!
This was one of the caches found on a three day odyssey on the Eyre Peninsula! Myself, GoodLook and locuscache had never cached south of the Cowell/Cleve area so we had high hopes of some great caching. We worked our way down through Port Neil and Tumby Bay and grabbed those along the highway plus a few a little further afield.
Our time in and around Port Lincoln was frustrating. Lots very small micros, lots of very rusty tins and more dnfs than ive ever had in a day before this. We were very fortunate that local cacher , Roming Wendy joined as. Her expert knowledge of the town certainly helped. A medical issue had us stay a third day. This worked out very well as we could do some relaxed caching on our way home.
A special thanks to Roming wendy for her help and to those who hid caches in the area … particularly the Geo-Ambos, Wheres Wolly and Viper321. Special thanks also to my “mildly obsessive” caching buddies on this trip …………………………… amazing fun!!

Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache, with the aim of the weekend to cache in and around Port Lincoln - fresh territory for us all. We certainly had a great time, however with a DNF rate of about 40% [:(!], it was tough going! We did however thoroughly enjoy the beautiful locations and scenery.
After joking all day on the Sunday we should spend another night in Pt Lincoln, circumstances presented that meant we needed to extend our time away! We took it slowly on the way home which enabled us to once again visit some terrific places
Thanks for the cache

Staying in Tumby Bay for a few days we set off finding the caches around here cleaning up a lot of unfounds from previous trips, a quick find and no snakes spotted. TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1340. Stayed at Cowell last night. Today, we cached our way to Port Lincoln, where we'll spend a couple of days. Great big rocks here, rather than stones. The sea is so grey today. Our thanks to wheres wolly.
I found this with mummy and daddy and my sister while we were having a holiday in Port lincoln
We are over from Adelaide on a holiday. We all brought our bikes and went for a ride to collect a number of caches. This was the first one for the day. After Geo Daughters (1pinkexplorer and 1funyhoney) couldn't find it so I had a look. Found it and logged the find. Thanks for the cache
A short stroll from the geomobile and I was at GZ
And like others before me, had a bit of trubble counting to three
Surely numbers two and three are only half a rock each !! [:o]
So after a thorough search of what I figured out later was number four, I did a recount and found the cache in the next place I looked

Ha ha!! Would have been a quicker find if I could count to 3!! After poking around for several minutes Mr Beetle joined the search and found it straight away. Nearly got sprung by a muggle here. Thanks
Easy find thanks wheres wolly

Picked while walking along the trail. Nice hide. Followed up by looking at the rock pools on the beach below.
Miss GG and myself were on Mini camping Holiday in Port Lincoln and we decided to break up our drive around the area and grab some caches on the way.
We hand picked all the caches this time on our way over and the caches that we did in Port Lincoln as its quite over whelming arriving at a new location with so many caches.. at the end of the day we use caching to make the drive to a location more interesting and not to do every single cache in the town.. as that will be no holiday at all. Gotta leave some for the next trip right?
Please forgive us for a generic log, as we are logging days after doing these caches, We enjoy the challenge of every cache and we try to put custom comments on the ones we remember.
Today we spent a little more time around the city, visiting the wild life park and a bit of walking around the coast
Thanks for the cache WheresWolly
Until next time - First thing you know I'll be back in Bow River again

Today was Darknstormy and my second full day in Port Lincoln so we decided to make our way south for a look around Whalers way and the town in the arvo
The day was looking to be great, weather was beautiful and some great sights were in store for us today
I apologize for the Generic logs but as we are logging afterwards all that was done becomes forgotten..
This was such a beautiful walk not far from the caravan park
Thanks for the cache wheres wolly
I also apologize for the floods of emails you are about to get
