So glad to get a break in the weather to find fid this one!Following the description given by the cache owner to get to GZ was an absolute ground breaker as we made our way to the cache.Without it, I'm sure the journey in and finding the well hidden ammo box would have taken us so much longer. Thanks for the cache and the adventure Rock-hopperFP given
The walk in was a little treacherous, but that's probably because we chose the wrong route in. Never knew this spot existed. Thanks for bringing me to this spot.

TFTC Aaron found this one while I was off exploring the indigenous cave. I remember this cave as a child with paintings all over the roof.. now it’s nearly all gone but fenced off for safety..
A day to myself with the geo toddler at daycare means I can get out & make finds like this. Great little walk to get the steps up for the day. TFTC
Sorry, but I'm disabling all my caches while this COVID 19 lockdown is in place. Hopefully we'll all be able to be out and about before too long.
An amazing spot to come across - off track, unmarked, with gorgeous little waterfalls and a resident Boobook owl! Cool! And a slightly perilous path across the rock face over the water. TFTC
It was still very hot at 3 pm but I headed out for a spot of caching anyway. Within an hour I had consumed all the water I'd brought with me, and I was soaked with sweat. So hot!
On the way to GZ I saw a water dragon. No snakes though. At GZ it took me 10 minutes of checking more prominent spots before locking onto the cache.

After two DNFs as we walked along Ben's Walk, this was a surprisingly quick find. We followed a faint trail alongside the creek, after leaving the main track. The etrex was accurate leading to a quick find. TFTC
Was not expecting to see what we saw here, an interesting surprise for both Mr Hancock and myself. Cache took a little while to find, but was found none the less.
We parked pretty close and walked down to this one. An interesting location! TFTC

It isn't there I've practically looked everywhere but couldn't find it not worth it
Another nice day down in the Nowra area. Focusing on the southern side of the bridge, I found a dozen along the Shoalhaven River and Nowra Creek. It was nice to catch up with Bonfire7 while I was down. Overall, a great day out - Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their caches.
Very enjoyable trek. Brought back many childhood memories of exploring Bomaderry creek, identical terrain, near our house growing up. Not surprisingly there is an easy trail from the left side of the scout hall leading directly to the creek near GZ. Many thanks. A favourite tick for the fun today.
after finding out about geocaching (yesterday) from mistysoho i thought it would be a great thing to do with the kids so i signed up and began plotting some nice easy local ones to do with the kids, saw this one was less than 500m from home and possibly not one i should take both boys to without more adults i decided on a mid week adventure with geodog.
after finding the caged art i started searching around (using phone gps and was assuming a 10-20m margin of error) looked in all the spots i thought one might find an ammo case. gave up searching after not locating it and finding evidence of a very recent small fire under the overhang.
after reading the hint i realised the gps was more accurate than i realised. a couple of minutes after getting to the gps coords and a couple of mins searching i found it literally a step away from the coords.
everything was safe and dry, took nothing, left nothing signed the log and headed home.
an excellent one for a first go.
and as previously stated the yellow markers are now blue

As is usual for us, we continue to do things the hard way. This time it wasn't so much the bush bashing that Nav commits us to, but his dreadful handwriting, which made the co-ordinates hard to decipher. Realising that we were going in the wrong direction when there was no path, no rocks to hop across the creek and no "feeling" that we were on the right track, we sent him off to recon using other numbers.
Hallelujah a "cooee" had us scrambling after him and who'da thought ... a fenced cave! Not long after Princess Akubra had the cache in hand much to our relief. SL, left toy soldier and took geocaching waypoint warrior badge. TFTC Rock-hopper.

Our second attept. Forst we approached from below with geomugggles geokids and geobabies and had to turn back. Today we approached from above with geodog only and found it much easier.
Great little find with the 4 boys under 13, however a little testing with only one adult when the ground is slippery. Took nothing however left a travel BUG RATD1C.
great little spot. thanks. gps got me relatively close, then had to rely on the description and the hint
Nice trail down! GPS was everywhere and after a lot and I mean a lot of rock hopping we found it.
TFTC got to love an ammo can!

Quite a collection of trails to get there but a pleasant surprise which I realise can't be advertised.
The iPhone did not like the location and the exact location was unable to be found. The area lived up to its name with a red belly black snake resting on the track
been here a couple of times with our bushwalking group .A great walk. Looked under one overhang and disturbed a wombat asleep. SL TN TF TC
We parked up by the street, even though we realised that the geo-4WD could have taken us a bit further. Down towards the expected location, and after having hopped some rocks the hide was spotted. No snakes spotted though.
After a bit of a walk and then a bit of a bush bash over we came to the varying GZ. Luckily the GPSrs weren't being too mean and let us in on the GZ fairly quickly. Hagar the Viking then immediately made the find, and we were glad to find a nice ammo tin, thanks Rock-hopper, found at 3:32pm.
Found with paulyman while visiting family in Nowra. The yellow poles are gone at the trail head, but the hydrants are now painted blue. Bit of scrambling over the rocks and we soon had the cache in hand. TFTC.
You certainly lived up to your name placing this one! I'm surprised it's been so long between finds though, as I didn't have much trouble locating it. Left a TB to encourage others. I've really enjoyed the walks and scrambles around Nowra today, trying to clear my last few unfound ones around here. TFTC!
We looked for this before in fading light and the old Etrex. Back again today with the new Etrex 30. What a difference, it had me standing on top of it. Sadly no travelbug in here.

Another favourite for the day. We spotted the cage on our way down & figured it wouldn't be there if there wasn't something worth looking at it behind it. So we made our way over it first, took a few photos, then worked our way down further to search for the cache.
Lots of spaces to look, but the hint narrowed down the area & bikerbuddy eventually spotted the hide.
Thanks for showing us this spot

We spotted the cage that protects the aboriginal art, so we looked at that first and took some pictures. Then we started to look for the cache, although the GPS wasn't so great once we'd been so close to that cliff. So I checked the clue, which was excellent, and I soon found the cache. An excellent location. A favourite from me. Thanks
This was an interesting spot and after examining the wall and cage the kids were amazed by the drawings.
Moving down the hill we soon had the ammo tin in hand.
Thanks

Bushbashed in from "and then there were five" for this one..several attempts to access gz through steep terrain and wandering co-ords made a grand challenge...a fave point from me!...TFTC Rock-Hopper!
What a great area to walk in. Followed the arrow from the river crossing and was soon at some nice little water falls. Off up the hill to the cliff and saw the caged off area and what was behind it.
On to the cache and it took some time but eventually found it.
Thanks for showing me this great area.

I had walked down this way for another cache some time ago, so had some idea what I was up for. There were plenty of rocks to check and patience was needed, but it all worked out in the end. Thanks.

This was the 3rd time this cache was marked in my diary. But the last 2 times it started to rain before I got there and given the terrain rating I decided it wasn't worth risking doing an ankle on slippery rocks.
After my experiences at Thompson's Climb I decided to follow Rock-Hopper's waypoints exactly. Turned out to be a much shorter & easier walk that I was expecting. At GZ I could still hear the Nowra Town Band playing at the Scout Hall near where I had parked.
A very pretty spot with the water below & the art work above, which I hadn't seen before & didn't even know about.
Thanks for taking me off the beaten track Rock-hopper. A very enjoyable walk & cache. TNLN SL

Made a beeline for the cache from the firetrail nearby and found myself on the top of a cliff...After a bit of a search found a way down and got to the rock art, interesting. Found the cache eventually, GPS lock not the best, hint helped, thanks.
The GPSr was bouncing around all over the place. We set up a mini camp and began searching. Eventually we discovered the ammo can about 3 feet away from where our little camp was. Very frustrating, but still fun.

Thanx Rock-hopper for showing us another part of our own backyard that we didn't know was here.

Great find with Mrs WEEO the GEO Boss and the progeny. How could we have known this was here so close to the ancestral home. Good one and a great walk
I went down the track from the Scout Hall parking area to Ben's Walk and then walked upstream along the creek which wasn't to difficult although it did involve some rock scrambling. The cache was found relatively quickly leaving us time to inspect the rock art site. I then worked my way to the top of the gully to find the yellow post trail markers mentioned in the notes and then it was an easy walk back to the car. Took geocoin. Also a thanks to Rock-hopper for the cache near this site which I did not know about.
A great morning walk with the cache-kid and geoPa down Ben's walk. We were going for the nearby cache but decided it was too hard from the bottom, so cam to this really gret one instead.
The creek was up from the recent rain and made the multi-level waterfall look really cool. Found the cache easy (coords were spot on - thanks Rock-Hopper), and the cache-kid was happy to see an ammo box . Not too much inside, so we dropped off a bunch of my cool new caching badges, some stickers, and some other little trinkets, along with the 3 Sisters Geocoin.
GeoPa loved the wall and we all even saw a serpent! All the years we lived in Nowra didn't know this was here (although I did come down here in primary school many, many years ago), thanks heaps for showing us and for such a great cache Rock-Hopper, looks like this will go on Pa's tour of Nowra for the pommy rellies when they come out. Such a great cache, deserves the favorite too.
PS. No sign of Mighty Wee Cacheapiller GC in the cache.

Arrived too late for an early morning gym session so a great excuse to have a walk and look for an unfound treasure. Definitely more than one treasure in the area and a little too early for the wriggly surprises
Thanks for an introduction to another great spot Rock hopper.

Had a holiday from caching following a bout of the flu, then a drastic diet - high protein which was worse than the flu & currently assisting with major maintenance on our 100 year old house. A lovely day so walked from the showground. The picture was embedded in my mind & certainly assisted in the find. Left a piece of camelina. Thanks for showing me this piece of Koori history.
Followed a previously taken route to get to this one.
I probably went the long way but a nice find and a quicker walk back

YEY! That picture really helped! I didnt even need to take the gps with me!! =) I had actually looked there, but not that side! That'll teach me not to look EVERYwhere!
Annnddd I saw the snake! =) Great little spot, I bet it'd be better when the weather is cooler! Thanks for the cahce!!

I'll have to draw a picture or take my laptop with me! I drew a picture of the photo for the cache on Pigeon House but that did me no good. Shall have another go. Thanks.
An Australia Day maintenance run, esp after all the DNF's - but this cache is still here My GPS said +- 8 mtrs at GZ (sorry, another overcast day and lots of trees) I've added a photo taken from GZ to help get your bearings.
2nd chance for my 100th find, after failing the one close by.. and again no luck.
Found the yellow markers with out the co-ords then headed in! I took note of what others have said and the hints of course, but under all the ledges i could find within GZ area, i had no luck! I was so sure I had the right spot! And there was some clothes nearby too O.o
Also, with previous DNF's I wonder if it's missing? I will come by again after i know its there again!
Thanks anyways!!

I checked out the parking area but decided to walk from the Showground. Found the serpent & noticed some hands but despite using both set of co-ords couldn't find the cache. Spent quite a deal of time & checked any & all ledges I could find & some I couldn't. I always have trouble around rocks & under structures now it appears. Thanks for showing me this piece of Koori history.
This cache epitomises why I hate and love this game. I didn't come the recommended way. From the rock crossing (near 'And then there was five') I crossed on to the showground side of the river and turned south. It's possible to follow the creek, though there are a few sketchy bits where theres a small drop down to the creek and a fairly narrow ledge. Once that sketchy bit was cleared the creek opens up a bit into a really pretty small waterfall. You can rock hop for a few more metres before the bush closes in. There's some semblance of a track and before long the fenced off bit of the cage was visible, so I made a bee line for that. At that moment I was feeling pretty good about geocaching, because it takes me to places I never would of gone to otherwise, or even known about. It felt pretty cool to have bush bashed to a place not too many people know about and have it all to myself.
It all went downhill from there though. I spent a good 45 minutes at GZ with no luck. I tried the coordinates in the other log but without any better luck. The unit kept sending me 10 metres in one direction, and as soon as I got close it would just send me back in a different direction. I did find a TB, which made me think I was close, but no luck.
I made my way from the GZ to the yellow poles and trekked out that way.
Thanks for taking me here, Rock-hopper, even if it did nearly frustrate me to tears. Maybe I'll come back one day and have another look. Probably not though

It is such a tricky area around here, there are several caches wich had me searching for quit a while around Ben's walk and now here the GPS was playing with me again. But I was lucky this time and found it in the second spot I looked. Did some swapping and left still wondering why the cliffs are fenced, or should there be something behind the fence??

Have been down here a number of times over the years, the last chasing a goat which used to hang out here but occasionally bailed up walkers on Ben's Walk - we didn't get him Went and checked out the artwork, then off to search for the cache. Wandered around a bit chasing the arrow, but no luck. Checked the clue, no luck. Then I plugged in TheHunterGatherers coordinates and bingo, took me straight to the cache! On the way out I checked out a few of the tracks I used to frequent back when the original Lucy (a 1962 SWB Land Rover) was my daily driver, but most are either closed on purpose or blocked by fallen trees and/or overgrown. There was a creek crossing under the powerlines which used to be lots of fun! Thanks for the cache and the excuse to visit here again Rock-hopper.

Usually I ignore additional waypoints (sometimes to my peril), but this time I decided to use the additional points and follow the instructions to the letter. I'm glad I did. I would have approached from a much harder direction. After a short search I decided to defer to the hint. Lucky I did. I don't think I'd have found it otherwise. The cliffs around here really play havoc with the gizmo. I don't doubt the coords given, but for the record mine were S34 52.963 E150 35.458 (plus or minus 8 meters according to the gizmo.)
Checked when I got home from work and this cache still had not been claimed. So after dropping half the team off to do the weekly shop drove over and parked at the 2wd recommended place.
Walked along the track that took me to the creek and realized I was even further from the cache so bush bashed back to the top clod cover tree cover cliffs = confusion.
Wandered around until I found the yellow posts and started all over again, short walk to the edge where I could see the creek and started to climb down a vague track.
Found the fence mmm interesting and only 5m to GZ.
I am SO glad there was a hint with the poor reception I would never have found it without it.
In the end it was well hidden but an easy find
