Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip with a campervan between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground in the capital Canberra. We scheduled for 1 full day here to be able to see and experience the city. It was a cold day but the many interesting Geocaches we found during the day made up for it. We saw many interesting buildings and enjoyed walking through several parks and along the river. This was a quick find. And indeed, we are still dry.TFTC!

After arriving yesterday, today was the first day in Canberra for Docla and me. Our son, who has been here before, was a good guide for us. With a total of 10 caches, it was a very successful day for me. We found it quickly. Thank you for this cache and greetings from Germany.

After we finally discounted something else that had us fixed for a while we finally found it.There was a bit of a break in the cold spell today and the sun was out much earlier and things warmed up, even though the temperature only got to 13 degrees. We had been keen to ride our bikes round Lake Burley Griffin so today was the day. We only made it to the Farmer's Market on our first attempt then had to return to the van with our purchases! With that done it was back out to firstly catch the tram into town and then the ride round the lake. On our way round we picked up a variety of caches, trads, multis, puzzles and quite a number of Virtuals. Some were straightforward while others challenging.Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery was welcome. We made it home just as the sun was settingThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache wing6rider.**SKI Pair****

Out caching to recover from my recent wisdom tooth removal operation. I spent the majority of the week doing nothing at home while it rained outside, and even though the cats really enjoyed my company, I had a severe case of cabin fever. Today I made my way down the highway to Canberra, finishing off some ALs where I could and starting some more. I always accidentally seem to start more than I finish. This was a cool spot, and luckily I had it to myself today and the restaurant was closed. Thanks for placing this cache here TFTCGeneric stats and facts for the day:Public toilets: loads of them, in fact almost a set at every rest area!Steps taken: 10629Weirdos encountered: not necessarily that weird but a dude metal detecting near the reconciliation walkWeather: very chilly, extremely chilly when the sun went down Snack situation: maccas coffee and department of pizza for dinner

En route to dinner in Kingston and Baristayan still needed to find a cache for the day! So we returned to the scene of a previous fail, to tackle this one which looks to have recently been enabled once again.Forgot the torch didnt we and dodged a likely contender which threw us off the scent before the very clever hide was located. Thanks! Mission accomplished, lets go smash some

Very nice cache! We really enjoyed a bit of night caching in the cold its 13 degrees and its not even winter yetFor those baffled by the cache, all I can say is: look at the DT. Its pretty accurate so dont overthink this one. Its very clever but doable.Log was quite full so we left a spare to help this cache get some extra life span Thank you!

Spent ages at Queen's Quay before having to walk away, and then another 40 minutes trying this one. Looked in all the wrong places multiple times. Tried walking away from GZ to look from a distance, tried feeling around some surfaces, tried taking photos from low angles and examining them for anything out of place. Nothing. I eventually decided I had no choice but to move on and leave both of these unfound - when I saw the tiniest hint in a old log. It didn't help at all with the location, but suggested a technique which in turn suggested a detail of the cache I didn't previously have. Okay, maybe just one more look. And so I doubled back to GZ, and this time I saw it almost immediately on arrival Nice to know the GPS co-ords had me in the right area all along, at least!

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Our time in Canberra is drawing to a close. today we headed in on the light rail with the geobikes to try and complete the bridges loop around Lake Burley Griffin. Wow awesome weather , chilly at the start but hot in the afternoon. Markets on so lots of muggles to add to the DT rating. Fantastic day, Mr F jumped on a boat to the Captain Cook Fountain. Plenty of memories and photos' from today.Oh wow, Mr Felix sat within 3mtrs of this cache whilst we waited for our lunch! We had not looked for a cache here until after lunch. We heard about a Mega in Canberra a year ago. Having never been to the big capital, we booked our accommodation and the planning began.Which caches shall we do? Wow they really love their mystery caches in ACT! Ok, we need to get our thinking caps on and solve some of these puzzles pronto. We have made the trek from Adelaide to be here and appreciate the efforts of all those involved to make the Capital Geobash happen. We have hired bikes to ride around the lake today.

Massive caching days continue. My online logs do not match with days found simply because I cant keep up with online logging sorry. My alliance of 5 all from WA are three young fit boys and two less young ladies who try to keep them honest. We have been up trees and ladders way more than I like and, like all geocachers who insist on wearing shorts in hot weather, our legs are ripped to shreds from hiking. Logging WAC since the three boys usually cache with a fourth called the Cockburn Crew based on their LGA. Having an almost totally cleared map locally, its difficult to explain the excitement of having a map that has caches literally everywhere. Ive cached in Canberra once with my partner and also at the Queanbayen mega but theres still so many to find. Long days and during the few hours allocated to sleep Im so sore I barely sleep anyway. Thanks so much for your contribution to making the days so exhausting and enjoyable. Much appreciated!

Logged as M989. Looked and looked. Regrouped Tilda241 went to get a beer, read everything again. Rejoined the search with another group of cachers & a better idea of what we looking for and found it almost instantly this time. Visiting Canberra for Capital GeoBash & today I am caching with Tweety2, Tilda241 & Mabelsa

Attempt number 1 we failed, even made the muggles move from the drinking spot! Walked away almost defeated. Cue a fresh set of geocachers and the search was on again. This time we walked away with a smiley.

During our weeks trip with Bare Foot Guru, Infoferret and Trinity to the Canberra Mega we logged as a combination of "BFG, CF, BIC, BITC" depending on who we were caching with at the time. The trip took us on a flight to Melbourne first, then a drive to Canberra, followed by a drive to Sydney before flying out again. Where possible I will add commentary to each find about the cache. Thanks for all the caches, hides and effort put into hiding and maintaining them.Quick and easy find.

As part of the tour group, we walked a ton of miles and signed all the caches as LT2. If there was any levitation happening during the finding of this cache, I did not see it. LOLThank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today was day 3 of my time in Canberra for the GeoBash Mega from the U.S. and getting to spend time with my friends. Hooray! It was another day that started with an awesome tour around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was warm and the cachers were friendly. We were led by tankengine, one of the cachers who had a hand in the gadget caches at the mega, has awesome mysteries and other caches in the area. He kept us moving the entire time and we were able to get all the caches on our list. Then I attended the mega which was a lot of fun. There were so many people! The gadget caches were amazing, the adventure labs were fun, and the evening get together for trivia was a blast. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.

TFTC wing6rider your cache Levitation? that we found today. We are in Canberra for the fun and games of the Mega. Another day in the National Capital. A pleasant Saturday morning to be caching around the Parliamentary Triangle with MeAndDe. Our aim today was mainly virtuals but we stopped and found other caches as we passed close by. This one had us stumped a bit and with so many muggles about we were going to give it a miss. The girls decided to utile the nearby facilities and I used the time to search a bit. Bingo!!! Great hide in a busy location.Find Count: 19422

In Canberra to attend the Capital Geo Bash mega event. I attended the Queanbeyan Mega event a couple of years ago which is when I did a lot of the touristy things. This trip was more focused on Geocaches. There has been an abundance of new high quality caches published since my last visit so more than enough to keep me busy. I was up early and set off in the dark. Thankfully nobody around at this time of the morning so I could search in peace. Found without too many problems. Thank you wing6rider & Crystal Warrior, for placing Levitation? for the geocaching community.# # SmileSmile #14328 SmileSmile # #

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers wing6rider! Big GrinJoin us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 2 days in Canberra, we visited Black Mountain, the surrounding parks and the parliament while following the caches and labs. We made some great discoveries and great experiences. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots
