normally, in such an out-of-the-way position, we might anticipate an ammo canor, at the least, a tub of tupperware with a notepad insidehere, however, the treasure hider has adopted a more minimalist mindsetthe smallest of containers holding the smallest of logswe applaud the audacitythe downside is that this treasure may have attracted more visitors than expectedthe scrap of a log sheet is now awash with signaturesnew visitors have had to turn the guestbook into a multi-level car park: if you cant find a spot, just go abovebutdo not despairfor that is the way of the universein time, all old logs will be rewritten oversomeone will always come along and step in your footstepshistory's memory is only so long
As mad 4wders, the track to get this one was well worth the effort to get and erned a favorite on our weekend exploring the Grampians tftc
Bit of an adventure getting here but we made it and found cache with a little help from the hint
Great views
Great views
An almost drive bye, great fun in the wet. Easy find in the end. Great drive with hidden scenery.
After some high terrain stuff this morning, the rain kicked in so we decided to go for a drive instead. Noticed these 4wd trail caches and enjoyed the drive to them. TFTC!

Gained a bit more 4WD experience getting to this one, but once at the top it was an easy 40m walk and quick find. The log was pretty full and will need replacing soon (depending on how popular this cache is!). TFTC.
Wow. Lesson to read the terrain before starting off . Not having a 4wd we parked in carpark area and started to walk. Well climb. Wow. Cars drive up and down this ???? I was on hands and knees coming up in parts and think I will possibly end up on my behind going back down. Thank god I found it or I would have been very SAD. I did laugh when I saw the actual cache . Fav point from me for the sheer effort. My effort that is !!! Tftc. What a great adventure. Remind my legs I said that tomorrow.
Following some pretty tame tracks today on the Icon 4WD trail (doing the eastern leg), but then came across this turn-off with the gate open (from the southern end). Well, it wasn't far to the blacktop, so we decided a deviation was in order, particularly with the inviting incline - so up we went .
This was the best track we'd come across in the last 3 days and finally the 4WD could do its stuff [^].
After 'hidy ho rocky o' we continued driving north to this one, stopping on the ridge to take in the views.
A quicker find this time. TNLNSL (could use a new log scroll).
Thanks again DAZNAE. You made our day .

On our way for an overnight stay in Halls Gap, we thought we would break the trip up with a few geocaches on the way. We parked the car about 400 metres from the cache today. Not knowing the terrain, I decided to walk the rest of the way. The track certainly got the heart pumping.
Even though it was only 26 degrees, the combination of no breeze and heavy exertion made it feel like 36 !! Once at the top, it was a short search and the prize was soon found. At least it is downhill back to the car.... TFTC DAZNAE

Visiting the Grampians with family and friends for a few days over New Year's, and today, the family and I headed out of town a little to find out of the way caches. With a high T rating, I was keen to get out here for a bit of fun, but was a little hesitant with taking the car up the track. I parked at the bottom, and while the rest of the family stayed with the car, I quickly ran up the track to GZ. The view was indeed very nice, and once at GZ, it didn't take long to spot the cache. Enjoyed the run back down to the bottom. Great to get out for a run today.

We were having a week away in the Grampians with DazzPete and Coruze, and this was day one so we decided to kick things off with the closest ones to our camping park, with a good bit of 4wding to boot.
We rocked up to the track expecting the gate to be shut but we're surprised to see it very opened....well, more like smashed open by the looks of it.... so we chucked it into low and off we went. The climb up was fun and without incident, and soon enough we were parked next to GZ, where we all piled out and made the very short stroll to the container where we signed our lives away in the very full logbook.
Thanks DAZNAE for the cool cache with views.

In the time BC we have driven straight past this cache without ever knowing it was there. Since discovering caching it has been on our bucket list to come back to and discover; unfortunately the elements have conspired to ensure the track remained closed. Today we decided we would drive as close as we could and walk the remainder; fortunately we arrived to find the gate open (destroyed really) so we were able to drive far closer than we had expected.
The search for the cache didn't take too long and we were soon signing our name.

Found in the company of skullracing and dazpete while off on a little pre chrissy hunt.
Sorry the late (and crap) log, I need a good smack. Thanks for the fun

While we did not have the correct vehicle a look on the map suggested we had the legs. The ground was a bit wet and the gate smashed open with signs of recent traffic. Up we went slow and steady before branching out. A bit overcast for a good view plus the bush seems to have grown up. A bit of a hunt and Top View was soon found and signed. TFTC.
It was off to Hidy Ho Rocky O. Some more up but not was bad. We got to the parking area and headed bush. Some careful looking and the tiny hide was at last found. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.

Great place for a find! We walked up the 4WD track - pretty steep climb! The cache needs some more paper.
I got a call from Jack83 asking what am I doing on Good Friday, my reply was family stuff, what about you Jacko, his reply was going on an awesome adventure, I soon forgot about those family plans and joined him.
Our last cache for the day as the sun was setting, another one where Jacko's beast made short work of the track, we would love to see more caches put along this track, it was very enjoyable..
Thanks DAZNAE for the fun adventure and cache.

Had my eye on these for a long time. Now I have the 4WD it was a rough and tumble hill climb to make our way to the views and little cache. T5 as intended - awesome!
While hiking and caching around the Grampians for a couple of days I stopped at several points of interest. While I couldn't engage low range in my car to get to this cache, I did have eco-mode so I was soon at GZ. The cache was found easily using the hint.
Unfortunately eco-mode doesn't have aircon so it was quite hot work on a 30degree day .
Thanks, DAZNAE.

Found on a caching expedition with Zues Hera and kids whilst camping in the area. We set out for this cache with the intention of getting as close as we can by 4wd, depending on the track condition, parking up then walking in from there with the family. We made it to 320m from the cache before we decided we weren't equipped with all the right recovery gear to continue further on up the hill. A good fun 4wd nonetheless.
After parking up we continued on foot, a scramble for the little ones (see photo) and some good exercise for all of us. A good walk with a short bush bash and we had the cache in hand thanks to one of the eagle eyed younger ones. Well worth the effort. Thanks for the cache.

Crowfam44 did well getting as far as we did in his flash new 4WD. I parked at a turn-around point then jogged up the track to see if it was possible to return from further up. Met a triton coming through from Redman Tk who said probably not. Saw a couple of walkers too & then later a mountain biker. Busy times on this hot day. Perversely enjoyed the walk up & the kids were amazing kicking on with little complaint. Off track & nervously keeping a eye out for snakes. Found easily enough with lots of eyes looking. Fun afternoon out, thanks.

The weather was great so I decided on a 460Km round trip road trip to find nearest unfound extreme caches for the "Let’s get EXTREME!" souvenir (why do they have to be so far away?) This was first cab off the rank and I was feeling a little breathless by the time I reached the cache, I need to get off the couch more often
Perfect coordinates made for a quick find and my souvenir claimed and another D/T box filled for Project 162, my first one for a long while, possibly all year.

Out exploring the area with the Gunks and B-U-Z-Z family today letting the caches direct the way to the sights. Should have double figures by the end of the day. Thanks for taking us to these wonderful places. Tftc
Geohubby and I are staying in Halls Gap for a few weeks from SA.
A cold, drizzly day dawned so we thought we might give this T5 cache a go. Low cloud doesn't matter too much when the cache is not at a scenic lookout however the natural bush was still very picturesque in the drizzle.
The 4x4 track is currently unavailable because of the seasonal closure but we were able to walk to the cache with a bit of huffing and puffing
This would certainly be a fun drive when the track is open
Many thanks for the hide DAZNAE [^][^]

Once in a while you decide to do something really stoopid in the name of geocaching, and this would have to have to go on that list. When the other members of the Bushrangers Womens Walking Club started hatching the plan to make the approx. 6 hour round trip on a work night I loved the concept, and had to be in. They picked me up in Melton and I ate a tray dinner in the car. The kilometers flew and next thing we knew we were heading up a pretty crap looking 4WD track. As our 4WD is pretty much still brand spanking new, I wasn't keen on doing anything which might scratch its duco (or undercarriage). So we walked up from fairly far down the trail. Once we had found this cache, and realised that there was another one not much further along the trail, we split up and drjim7 got to go back and get the car, and try it out on the kind of roads for which it had been designed. I stayed with the walking party. Crazy night, but these are the kind of things of which memories are made. TFTC.
[font=Verdana]Yet on another clear autumn night, the Bushrangers Women's Walking Club (BWWC – Josie, Esther, Jim, Justin and Phil) are out on another mammoth night-time caching run. This time the route took us east of Melbourne. One could describe it as a run through the eastern outer suburbs from Ballarat to Halls Gap, and the final part of the night (or should I say just before daybreak) in central Melbourne. We have all cached these areas before, but with new caches being published all the time, and multi’s yet to be found, the night yielded a swag of about 2 caches. Many of the multi’s have not been worked out using Google and streetview in the planning phase before the night (We didn't find any since we weren't looking for them). The night was going so well, we were well ahead of time, so we stopped for a cold cheeseburger at a local Ararat pub(?!). There is nothing like helping out the local economy! The highlight of the night was hidy ho rocky o (GC2KDRF). This cache I almost previously attempted immediately after doing a drive to Uluru, but I was so tired I was unable to get to the cache. On this night we had great success frightening Josie, and driving the people mover up the rocky track. A nice little stroll to grab this one. Thanks.

[red]Blitzkrieg - not![/red]
[green]When this one was re-enabled I was very keen to seek it out. Bags of inattention and to top it off, my final DT combo to complete the matrix!
The concept of the six hour flash up and grab was thrown by a number of factors, including an extension to the agenda to pick up GC2KRDF, and a late night became an early morning. Oh well that was fun.[/green]

I did not find this cache. I had very good GZ but no cache sighted. Plenty of places for a big container in this area so a bit disappointed to be hunting a micro. Track up wasn't too bad but I wish I had the dirt bike with me. Scrub looks like it has grown quite a bit since last found. Maybe a check up is needed. Thanks for the challenge.
I tried this one again on my walk back to the car.
It's a lot more overgrown since I was here last.
At GZ the hint only makes it confusing

This was nasty, the climb up was rough but the worst bit was searching for a micro in all that bushland. We thought about the clue and looked at an upper elevation amongst other things. We just didn't want to make that journey back to the car without a smiley but after about an hour of looking we had to admit defeat. Thats for the challenge and the top view DAZAE
FTF Drove our 2WD 3 ton bus to a point where we could park. Bit cool so layered up then walked, trudged, slipped 500m uphill and found this cache pretty quickly. A couple of less layers by the time we got there. Top views, hehehe. TFTC
Thought it would be a good idea to go out for a run along some bush tracks and find this today.
After initially running along a lower track for awhile i realized i wasn't going to get any closer to the cache unless i was to attempt going straight up.
I headed back to the car and decided to attack it from a different direction which got me a lot closer to GZ by car.
I expected a hide from DAZNAE to tricky and it didn't disappoint. Spent about 15 mins at GZ with good accuracy with no luck but it was getting late so I'll attempt again soon.
