Someone wanted this more than anyone else, it is no longer in the park.

Hmmm... With previous logs mentioning it is a trick, but good hide, we were hoping to find it. Sadly we searched all over, but sadly couldn't find it Sad

Thanks MGROCKS

2nd cache for the arvo. Didn't even use the gps to find this one, located the park, there were a few muggles around so we headed to the hut to check out the area. While at the hut I looked around and said to Mrs DM "That seems to be a strange place for that". Making sure no one else was watching, she bent down and Bingo, cache was in hand. First one of these I've seen in the wild. TFTC SL

Arrived at GZ with Ms Wig... hmmm, perhaps Anzac Day isn't the best day to do this one!!

We searched high and low, and then something seemed odd.

A subtle extraction, and confirmed it was the cache.

Good sneaky hide MGROCKS!!

MrMeccano and I went looking for this one while Azrosah and Rosegums kept watch.

Now our timing was not great as it was ANZAC Day, and the ceremony was about to get under way a short distance away. MrMeccano spotted the cache in short time as we had seen a few of these hides now. As there were a lot of muggles conregating to pay tribute to the fallen, we sat down and were able to do the business of signing the log, with no one the wiser (especailly with camera bag well positioned)

We had a look at the little hut, and some of the interesting artwork of local scenes. Well worth a look.

Before my Canungra cache chase could begin, there was the small matter of visiting another artist's abode located just around the corner.
The Pie Shop Razz
With a finely crafted chunky steak pie in me paw the caching could begin Smile

The pie was delicious, the artwork was very interesting and the cache tickled Razz
A very neat hide and once I had shaken the ants out I had the logbook signed in no time Big Grin

Whilst heading out west, we stopped in on this one. I cut a few laps of the area before spotting something a tadly suspect. Sure enough the cache was soon in hand. It is in good condition. I had a bo peep in said hut as well - interesting area. TFTC MGROCKS Smile

I arrived at the GZ and there was a muggle sitting in his car staring at one of the possible search areas.

I pretended to show an interest in the wagon and the surrounding area for a while but he just hung around. He left eventually but that didn't help either. I saw something and though "no it couldn't be" and decided that this cache needed a dose of caffeine to sort it out.

After a proper coffee across the road and a bit more of a search, I decided to check the earlier item.......and success.

Nice one MGROCKS. Thanks for the cache. This is the first one of these cache containers I have seen in QLD. (The scary bit is that I have found one before in VIC but it still had me puzzled for a bit today)

I grabbed a penguin and left one of those pesky cache dwelling frogs.

Took us 30 minutes to find it. Tricky hide but actually with keeping your eyes open you can find it quickly.

I seem to recall having a DNF in this park sometime a while ago. Nevermind, wandered to GZ and soon found myself rather interested in the photos and history instead. A bit of a walk around and spotted the cache. Had to wait for some parked muggles to continue on before retrieving and replacing. Unique sort of a hide here, TFTC.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi !!! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin Out geocaching today on Australia Day. What a great time we had too. [^] [^] [^] This was our 6th and last cache for the day as we were all due to join others for a late Australia Day picnic. Bristracker had been here before and searched for some time and was a bit apprehensive wondering if we had enough time to do this one. I think she was hoping that with Aussie Bob along we'd find it a bit more quickly, hopefully. We arrived at the GZ and Aussie Bob hopped straight into the little cubby for a look at the great artwork. I headed for what looked like a likely spot when Bristracker started hee, hee, heeing gleefully behind me. Big Grin She'd found it already. It's amazing how a quick find after a previous long search can cheer you up. [^] Nevertheless, we are starting to think we should offer that PPTrekerz kid more money and have him join us. He sounds like a very worthwhile addition to a caching team. Surprised Thanks for this cache MGROCKS and Moocow. Nice hide, nice location, great artwork. We were pleased to come here for a cache and to find so much more to see.
TNLNSL.

Maybe it was the fact I'd spent so long last time, or that I had Aussie Liahona along for backup and support, or just the news that the PPTrekerz nipper had got it so smartly, but whatever it was I jumped out of the car and onto the cache. I was certainly hee hee heeing as Mrs Aussie said. Great relief to find it so quickly. Was delighted to show my friends the lovely paintings reproduced inside the Artist Shed. I would love a copy of "Cressbrook" the property on the Darling Downs where my grandparents worked before WW1. Thanks for a great cache in a great spot MGROCKS and Moocow07.

Really clever, neat find.

I was sooo looking forward to finding this one and spent a long time at and around the artist's shed but did not turn up a cache. Found half of Brisbane's motor bike riders stopping in or passing through the town on this lovely fine day after all the deluging we've had. I bought a pie and wandered around the town looking at lots of stuff, bought some books at the second hand bookshop, and found several Geocaching Australia locationless cache finds. Spent far too long here really but it was a very pleasant interlude on a pleasant caching day. Came home to look up a certain word in the dictionary to see what I was missing.
PS I knew this painter's work but not that he'd lived around here. He even painted "Cressbrook" the property where my grandparents worked before WW1 so I got a shot of that picture. I love history and I love painting and I love the Gold Coast hinterland so this cache has it all. Gets my top mark.
