### **OWNER ACTION NEEDED?** ###
Perhaps it's time for the cache owner to make a visit to this cache as it would appear to be in need of owner intervention. I am temporarily disabling it so as to stop it showing up on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Geocache maintenance is a cache owner responsibility and includes regular visits to the cache to ensure it is in proper working order. Your prompt attention to any log that indicates things could be amiss will be greatly appreciated by all geocachers, have a read here: [Cache Maintenance Guidelines.](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance)

**Please respond to this situation within 28 days - so as to prevent the cache from being archived.** Sad

Very nice grab and go
Super hidden log bool wet.

15-Jan-17
Found with Martin from Team Justice and another friend while walking the Tanglefoot trail - slight detour according to Martin. Truly a wonderful area which we wouldn't have come to had your cache not been here! Contents and log very wet as has been recorded in previous logs. TFTC

Another day, another cache, now 128 consecutive days with a find. This one was part of a lovely walk early in the morning with a couple of friends. We came up from Monda Carpark end and had to detour to find this one. We should have read the cache details more clearly before we started the look. We found it once we did this very easily. Yes, the log is wet.

Thanks for the cache.

Found by Team Justice #1439.

Might need a fix up as there was a layer of water on the bottom of the box, and the original of book was soggy.

Quick easy find, someone put in a new log which was good. Love this spot, my partner and I got married in the state forest and took some photos here at the boardwalk along the way. Tftc.

Cache is extremely water logged. Tried to seal it as best as we could. Virtually impossible to write log, next person if they read this, please bring a bit of paper to put in as log instead, we unfortunately did not hav any. Thanks for the cache and bring us to this area Smile

11-Apr-16
Unfortunately, the logbook is a soggy mess and could do with some TLC.

11-Apr-16
Found, cool hiding spot. Had been to Wirrawilla countless times in the past, so I was good to get a cache there. It is such a cool place, if you're reading this, do yourself a favour and check out Wirrawilla, it's amazing.

10-Apr-16
Hmmm, 'Geodes'. There's a name from the past. Big Grin

With the start of today's walk just around the corner, the decision was whether to stop for a quick look or not. Well, we all know the answer don't we? Wink

Once at GZ, the stash was quickly in hand at 10:00 and I was on my way after emptying about a tablespoon of water out of the container and somehow getting may name on the piece of soap that used to be called a logbook. Surprised Definitely some TLC needed here.

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks Geodes

10-Apr-16
Did the Wirrawilla loop at he start of today's bushwalk. After we had finished we stopped off here and found the cache before heading into Healesville for the post-walk BBQ. The cache log is really wet and needs replacing.

A lovely day to go out walking in the hills. I picked this area as its not too far from home. Nice tracks and years since i have hiked around here. Thanks for all the caches around. Most were in good condition. Some flooded though i drained all the water and tried to dry the log books out. They all look like they will be fine. Cheers

Out today on another sunny perfect day with icefoxy, this time exploring a region not yet visited. Always peaceful and fun exploring the back roads and old logging tracks in a car with terrible ground clearance.

This was the first found today and a quick find too. Nice spot. Cool

Out this morning at silly o'clock with poptoppete doing a little hiking and light 4x4 driving. What a wonderful spot to escape, the views were fantastic, love looking down on clouds in the valleys, could just see the city at times and a few Roos/wallabies scampering around. Thanks for the adventure. Tftc Geodes

Last cache for the weekend. Doing a reci for our 4WD club future trip. Logs was totally wet. Almost poked my eye out with a stick that was in the wrong spot. Did not do the walk as we needed to get back and pick up our kids, who we will bring up here soon. TFTC

23-May-15
Certainly your photos are beautiful and gave us an idea of what we would have experienced had we done the walk... but, alas, more caches were calling so we had to move on. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.

23-May-15
In the area catching up with family so took the opportunity to grab a few caches. It was a beautiful sunny day, so enjoyed making the find. Log book was wet & needs replacing. TFTC Geodes.

[red]My humble apologies for the late log...[/red]

After living away from home for 6 months, I have managed to find all my caching associated paperwork / notes & photo's so I can (finally) log all my finds... Found this cache after House Sitting near Trawool en-route to Yarra Glen ... Cool

My sincerest thanks to all the cache owners for their hides & all the effort gone into them & I'm sorry for the generic log... I have seen many beautiful area's that I would not of seen or experience if not for your hides...
Thanks for bringing me here and for the cache... Big Grin

In the area and headed into the forest for this one. Drove right into the carpark and did the walk following the GPSr until the walk stopped - and I still had 70m to go. I then realised that the cache was back at the turnoff to the carpark and not on the walk! Oh well - what a great walk - this is a beautiful place and the well constructed walkway really shows off the forest here, well worth the trip to get here. After the walk went back to the car a drove back to GZ where the cache was found quickly - and it was almost full of water and the log is unsignable. left a piece of paper but this one really needs an ammo timor at least a new container. Thanks anyway to geodes for putting one here and highlighting this great walk.

This one took longer than it should have as the GPS had us jumping around but a great spot for a cache. TFTC SL.

20-Oct-13
Found it! Another quick drive by find at the end of the Walkabouter's walk along the Tanglefoot loop track. It's always easier when it is not raining and warm to find a cache. TFTC SL Smile

14-Oct-13
As per my "Found It" log, the cache is damaged and collects water.

14-Oct-13
I had been out to find the "Mount Despair" Letterbox cache and I was now making my way back to "civilisation" at Toolangi. I had bypassed this and another couple of caches along Syliva Creek Road as I went in and this was the last that I stopped for on the way out.

It was cold and raining so I just went for the cache and left the walk for another day. I had no trouble finding the cache but the cache itself is in trouble. The lid has the corner broken off and water is getting in. I tipped the water out of the cache...and out of the Zip Lock bag the log book is in. The log book is quite wet but currently still signable with a pencil.

Thanks Geodes for the cache...and sorry I couldn't do more to help it out.

We did the whole Myrtle Gully loop with our geodogs. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for getting us to this stunning area.

07-Sep-13
Found this on a fun-drive around Toolangi. A couple drove up next to me and started the walk so I decided to be a lazy pig and leave that for another day.

Thanks and cheers

Long time since we were here last and it has changed a lot - some good (a car park) and some bad (more logging). Still a very nice spot.

Just a note to let you know we revisited the cache today and found it to contain some water.
We emptied it out and rehid it, but you need to keep an eye on it for any further water ingress.

28-Jan-13
A lovely walk to break up the long drive from Yea to Healsville (or roughly that direction, caches were more important to us today!) The cache was in good condition, although the rain forest path unfortunately was closed at one stage of the path (we're assuming for maintenance) so the walk felt much shorter than we expected, TFTC Geodes

22-Nov-12
Found with Pprass on out tour around the area, we arrived at GZ to find the forestry workers having morning tea, Pprass was having a nice conversation with the CO so I went into stelth mode and logged the cache, sure is a great area to visit. Thanks Geodes for the cache.

22-Nov-12
Found at 10:27 AM GAFF5 in the company of Rebel Acts. As we approached GZ a "coven" of park ranger people were sitting right next to GZ having their morning tea - must be hard work driving around the forest Razz. At that time the phone rang and it was the CO returning our call. He demanded that we go on an enormous long walk and take notice of the magnificent vegetation in this part of the forest. While I was discussing these demands, Rebel Acts sneaked behind the big tree and logged the cache and just as that process was completed, the ranger people got up and started to leave.
This area and the part along the board walk is very special indeed.
Thanks Geodes

27-Mar-12
A beautiful walk that I would encourage anyone visiting the area to do! I know some of my extended family come up this way, but it's usually just to fang around on trail bikes, not usually to explore the quieter spots. I;m more the bushwalky type, while fits well with geocaching! Cache in great condition still, contents clean. TNLN TFTC

26-Feb-12
A quick find @ 09:55 - it really is a bit hard to miss with all the hints!! I was looking forward to doing the walk this morning but, after spending the night listening to trees and branches falling everywhere, it wasn't worth the risk in the wind that was still howling through the area. It is, however, on my list to do next time I'm back in the area.

Thanks again to Geodes for bringing me here and for the cache. TNLN

Once again, Mrs Riddell found the cache without the GPSr!
I said it was "here somewhere" and she walks up to the hide and says "Here" and pulls the cache out of its hide.
A wonderful place.

Sam Carter and I searched for a while for this one. We checked the obvious spot, moved further afield, before finally consulting the encrypted clue. After a more thorough search, the well covered cache was found. Afterwards, we enjoyed the rainforest walk - truly worth the short time required, and such a magnificent area. Thanks for showing us this great spot, and for the cache. It will get one of my favourite points.

04-Nov-11
When searching for the cache, definitely read the cache description, and then be prepared to go deeper than you think. The amount of humus and detritus was amazing. Having found the cache we followed Geodes' advice and did the walk. It's beautiful. The patterns of light and dark in the afternoon spring sun were wonderful (although I'm sure the photos I took won't do them justice). Thanks Geodes, it's a great spot. Muzza's only criticism is that I wasn't tall enough to knock down the above-175cm spiderwebs! My travelling coin passes through in tribute.

21-Sep-11
The road is now open. Locals have managed to raise the funds to have the issue heard in court, so an injunction against logging in the contentious coupes applies until the case is heard. Thankfully due to the Toolangi' residents actions only a small area of the proposed coupes was felled.

23-Jul-11
Sylvia Creek Rd is blocked just beyond the walk by police and they are breath testing all drivers and searching vehicles trying to head up. This will be in place until the end of August except on weekends.

Logging of a very contentious multi aged forest including old growth and also endangered species have been found in the area is happening and their is much local community opposition to it.

Still recommend this cache but not on weekdays and it is worth it on weekends so you can see the forests we are loosing. Less then 2000 hectares of pre 1939 Mountain Ash forests exists. The tallest plant in the world.

07-Apr-11
I have done this walk at least twice in the past and can fully support Geode's comments - it is well worth doing.

That having been said I didn't do it this time as time was getting on a bit!

11-Mar-11
FOUND IT.... And that is being shouted.
Yep can understand why I didn't find it. As a part of Mountain Ash ecology at the start of summer they shed about 7/8th of their bark to encouraged a higher intensity fire if it is dry however it also helps remove fire because it traps the moisture and breaks down to soil pretty quickly. This a ploy by the ash species to ensure no fire or fire hot enough to kill the adults and allow a new stand to germinate while providing homes to an amazing array of animals..
Cache is about knee height and under quite a lot of bark.

Thanks Bob. TNLN.

06-Mar-11
Checking on this cache was one of a number of reasons for me to be in the area today.

I can confirm that the cache is still there, right where I placed it - although, I must admit that there seems to be a lot more fallen bark and leaves on top of it than there was a couple of months back. You'll need to stick your hand into the mass of fallen bark at the centre of that group of 5 tree trunks and you should feel it pretty quickly. Approach from the Quarry Track side. I never wanted this to be a hard cache to find - it's all about the location, not the cache, so I'll put up a picture showing the exact spot to look.

I hope the cache description helps to locate GZ, as I wasn't too confident about the original co-ordinates - so I took the opportunity to try again today as the weather conditions were more favourable - let me know if these seem more accurate.

PS If you can't find it, just post a dnf - a 'Needs Maintenance' log is for when you find a cache that's been damaged in some way.

24-Feb-11
Went back with very specific details from geodes and no find. Went back with 2 forest researches and dug down to about a foot in depth around the 5 trunked tree right on the intersection. The only thing I can think of is that when geodes tells me it is behind the tree it is more then a couple of foot from base of tree, but I know I searched all areas last time. so still believe it has been muggled after one find.

02-Jan-11
Believe missing as per note, If it is reserected it would be good if you could consider the needs maintenance note for Tanglefoot. Also as I work in the area, I know a lot of cars get vandalised in this carpark. It is really quite a heart breaking spot, when you briefly see what this forest should look like, then you have to deal with the politics and all the other relevant issues and the undiverse matchsticks that are left.

01-Jan-11
Believe it has already been stolen, looked in the area for about an hour including moving my hands through all the bark and dirt in the 5 trunk tree at the start of the management track. There was an obvious spot in the tree at head height facing the carpark where a hollow had been made in the bark, where I believe the cache would have been.
