Well, many geocacher don't like this location.
**Hence I will archive it definitely**.
----------
A local geocacher who helps me looking after my caches will retrieve the container, when passing next time there.
Sorry for the bad location.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... After five months of grief, it's time for another serious attack on our current caching license. We're heading east to target seven high difficulty caches, and anything else that catches our attention...
We were lucky enough to get a signal so we could save this one to an offline file. Sadly, the cache is in such a precarious position, with vehicles passing at speed. Rather than both of us crossing the road, Gap carefully traversed and signed us both in. We are unsure why a cache needs to be located so close to this bend in the road... TFTC.

Squirrel Nutcase and myself are on a road trip to the Gisborne area chasing caches with a higher D rating for our licence challenge. We visited area 3 months ago and hopefully we will have better success this time and collect anything else on the way. Day 1 was to get there first and day 2 back to Rotorua via Wairoa Napier way.
1.50pm - Cache placement on a fairly tight sweeping corner. Hint was a good help, just had to watch for the fast moving traffic. SLTFTC

No problem finding the cache but the traffic here is quite fast and you need to listen for oncoming vehicles carefully. TFTC
I picked up the twin a few minutes ago and so I had to stop here, too. But it's really a dangerous place because even in the curve vehicles move quite fast. But I took care and was successfull.
Thanks a lot for the cache.

Find #2571. Found during a 1000+km return one day drive from Wellington on a very successful space mission. One of only three finds on this trip. Not the best place in the world to have to stop - the road was very busy with Mahia traffic. SL TFTC
Thanks for the cache. I found it on 27/02/16 at 1:06 PM. I agree with people complaining about the physical location of this cache. It's in a downright dangerous place and the CO should consider moving it to a much safer place further round the corner. Its proximity to its twin is less important than the safety of the geocaching community.
Another find on the great north summer roadtrip with the Banians- a week of travel from Wellington to Auckland via Napier, Wairoa, that secluded road between Wairoa and Rotorua, and almost the Coromandel peninsula
Found cache 1 a couple of years back when we were last here and skipped this due to the so-so site. Site still so-so, but it was getting dark so less cars were on the road. TFTC

We didn't get this one when we were through over two years ago, due to parking. Got it this time but the parking and access were still...marginal... Interesting info about the lagoon, not sure why the cache needs to be in such a dangerous location. SL.
A bit scary walking around the busy road. A quick find once at GZ. Thanks for the cache
Please see log of nearby cache for the full story.
This one was spotted by my wife from the other side of the road, while I was
still trying to locate it.
Thanks.

Didn't spot anywhere to park on the way through so left it for the return journey.
The GPS pointed us to what seemed like an obvious place, that fitted the clue, but after looking for a while we widened the search area & found it on the other side of the road. Needed to be wary of traffic here. TFTC nzkeko

Cool spot. just down the road from my mums. my sister found as her first geocache. tftc
Quick grab on our way from Gisborne to Wairoa today. We parked the car behind the bend and so could reach the cache safely.
thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today, even by rainfall, on our way from Nuhaka to Wairoa
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

Logged together with Tarkal on our vacation trip to New Zeeland. Between looking at the great views and experience the typical NZ "things" we will mange to find some caches . This was one of them. The cache was quick to find on good description. But the way to and from the cache was edging the nerves a bit.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Good view over the lagoon, stopped on our way to Gisborne before the cache - a very short walk. TFTC
nice quick find. always nice to have one that keeps you going. found on our trip to napier
On our way to Napier after a few days geocaching around Gisborne. Wasn't where we expected it to be but a find is a find. Not too much traffic and we could hear it coming so didn't risk our lives.
Thanks nzkeko, another smilie on the road to Napier.

Got this one first.Nice to see another great example of the unsung conservation work that occurs in this country.
Waited at the car at Whakaki Lagoon cache with the children and sent Mr HeMaLuDy to find this cache as road was busy today. A quick find. Good hint.
A pretty hazardous place but the mounting of the box is very ingenious. Thank you for the cache.
The log is full, needs maintenance.

Taking a long route to Wellington, via the East Cape after a mountain bike orienteering carnival that finished in Rotorua. A quick find for the 24th and last cache of the day. TFTC.

Stopped here, and appreciated the good cache listing write up. Thanks for that.
A little disappointed with the actual placement..... "safety" is the key word here. Normally we avoid such placements, but did not realise it's location until after we stopped.
Found it's twin, which did not give any information like this one.

Yikes, bit of a scary place to be stopping and crossing but cache found quickly thanks
ROS grabbed the cache while MAR prepared some lunch then back on the road to beat the holiday traffic TFTC.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Most Christmas holidays involve a road trip of some description and this year is no exception. Today we were travelling from Gisborne to Napier, picking up a few caches along the way. A quick find here, TFTC!

I decided to walk from where I parked up for the 'twin' and very glad I did as the viw of the lake on a beautifl sunny day was quite spectacular. TFTC
#4868. Attempted this one only today, leaving the other twin for later. This one was more of a "drive past" than "drive by". Found a suitable place to stop about 100 metres to the west of GZ and crossed the road from there. Quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Found it with Mr Chillipips on day 10 of challenge. Thought of its owner fondly as we found and signed and send aroha... Sorry for late logging- catching up on saved log notes

Great view of the lagoon from the GZ. Need to watch the traffic when crossing the road.

Our opinion is that not every cache needs a twin, especially when it is in such a dangerous place (cars and stones) with nothing more to see than from the twin's site... Or close to it.
Nonetheless, thanks.

Nice to find its Twin, great views of the Whakaki Lagoon and the coastal wetlands from here, TFTC.

Thought I had better clear this one, while doing maintenance on the twin TFTC
Dropped in a pathtag.

Well that was an interesting cache location. I certainly had to watch the traffic on this corner of the road! TFTC
Quick find. On my way back from Nuhaka, a town until only a few months ago Id never heard of let alone been to! Now mapped to open street map. Thanks ftc
A quick easy find once we reached the location, but we weren’t too impressed with having to walk along such a busy road. TFTC

Driving north in company with Pprass, we passed through vast grazing and agricultural areas, never ceasing to be in awe of the rugged beauty of the coastal scenery. It is great to see local councils and organisations getting behind restoration projects.
NOTE TO CO: Whilst acknowledging all your safety messages, we do wonder if the provision of some co-ordinates for the park spot might enhance the safety aspect substantially?
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt nzkeko.

Found at 12:18 PM GAFF5 in the company of Phetlern. We had to park 150 metres up the road and walk back and sorry, but we crossed on the bend - does that mean we are bad, mad or it just isn't really that dangerous
Good to see so much work being done on the wetlands.
Thanks nzkeko
