Thought we found a pretty magnificent fig tree but were having a hard time finding the cache. And then we found The magnificent tree and oh boy ??
Staying in the valley with Phoenix2507, I decided to bring him here to this lovely spot.As it turns out just one day short of two years that I previously found it.Thanks again.
I had planned to head up to this cache last Christmas holidays but ran out of time, so made a point of getting there today. Caches like this are one of the things I love most about caching. Going to places you would never have discovered otherwise therefore a Favourite from me. What a magnificent spot not requiring a substantial hike. Passed a large patch of stinging trees which thankfully were far enough out of reach and was finally greeted by two immense strangler figs that seemed to reach the sky. Thanks for an enjoyable hike and cache placement.
What a nice old fig tree. It looks like some maintenance work has been done on the track no problem finding our way to the cache. Tftc
Sorry, but I'm disabling all my caches while this COVID 19 lockdown is in place. Hopefully we'll all be able to be out and about before too long.
Found with nissan 65 and nicolebr76gal. Beautiful walk and great forest. Thanku for bringing us here. Fav point
Found with cullum68 and nicolebr76gal thanks for the cache nice quick find once at gz and i year to lost years
Found with cullum68 and Nissan65 to complete the mystery of the museum. TFTC
Spent the morning picking off a few caches. I parked at the parking coordinates and set off for the 800m walk. I was too eager to start with and I ran out of puff at the halfway mark. Fortunately for me there was a seat at the top of the rise and I took a breather before heading on. The ground levelled out and I was at the magnificent tree in no time. The cache was easily located, TNLN SL, before replacing and heading back to the car. 20 minutes in, 16 minutes out - of course I preferred the downhill!
Thanks for the visit Rock-Hopper. Great little secluded walk.

Enjoyed the walk and the rain forest. Finding the cache was good too. TFTC Rock-hopper.
A hot summer day might not have been the best time to trudge up the hill to find this one, but it was certainly worth the effort. A beautiful rainforest gully, and the 2 giant fig trees are spectacular.
I had big plans for today to head out towards Berry and find the 15 forgotten years cache as i had qualified for this challenge just yesterday,On my way i noticed this cache was back on.....Yes Bonus!!

Cache replaced, slightly relocated. Here's a bonus for "Unloved" cache finders!
Sorry about the delay with this one - Waiting to be injury free and for cooler weather to make the climb...
Ahhh... I see now that the maintenance has already been noted. I was working of a PQ that was a couple of days old as I am only passing through the area but this one was on the to-do list. I was meeting up with a friend in Berry for coffee and figured I had plenty of time to make it up and back. It took a little while to find the right car park but soon I was on the trail and heading up and up. At the midway (ish) point it opened up and I lot the trail for a bit but took the most obvious direction and sure enough was shortly rewarded with a trail again going where I had suspected. Nearly there and a quick check of the GPS indicated I only had 30min left to find the cache, get down and make the rendezvous so I picked up the pace and was totally sopping wet with sweat by the time I got there. Made the unusual find (i.e. no container but all the contents. Sorry I didn't have anything much I could donate to keep this one going (should have rechecked the logs online before heading off!!) Anyway - a tops spot and certainly gets a fav from me even without an ammo can. I had a TB I needed to drop off in a beautiful bushwalking spot but without protection decided against it. I will visit it in and out at least. Thanks for the cache!
Bugga, ammo tin has been stolen. I'll replace it in a slightly less conspicuous spot asap.
Found the cache quickly enough...well what was left of it. Some champ has taken the ammo box container and left the cache contents i assume where the cache was :/
Great spot though TFTC

I was in the area today and had the opportunity to make a stop to find this cache.
Do I have enough daylight to head up here? Sure I do. Found the parking spot without any drama, and headed straight up. After ten minutes I found myself following the arrow to GZ, well ten minutes is pretty good I thought, this will be under half hour and I will be back at the car.
Wrong.
At my GZ I did a lap of the Fig Tree. Mmm, no cache, that is suprising. Did a second lap. Still no cache. Damn. Torch out, a very thorough third lap. Still nothing. This makes no sense, how could this be muggled? I will do a fourth, very slow lap, check every nook and cranny, and then leave. Sigh. 20 minutes of searching and nadda... It took me twice as long to search as it did to get here! So I turn my head for home and see another Fig Tree. How could I be so stupid! Head over to there, make an immediate find, sign the log, and head back to the car.
45 minute round trip, could easily have been 25 minutes if I wasn't a moron. Well done on finding this track, I will come back in summer for a swim and bring my Scouts I think! Favourite point awarded.
Cheers

Well worth the effort to get here, I have lived in Berry all of my life and never knew that this place existed. Magical
Found this one with a few friends while we were in the Kangaroo Valley area for the weekend. The GPS was a bit jumpy at the start which did not make the beginning of the track easy to find but after a careful inspection, there it was. We enjoyed the walk, attracted a few leaches but they did not find our skin, the nettles were prevalent but we managed to avoid them. no swaps, TYFTC
This cache has been on our to do list for a while now but we have been waiting until a) it was more than 6 months since it had been found & b) ideal weather.
With the forecast of showers clearing in the afternoon we set off. We had read the logs and were prepared for a steep climb, leeches, nettles and an awesome walk & scenery.
We were not disappointed with the walk & scenery - it WAS awesome ! The climb was not as steep as we had expected and once we passed the seat it seemed to flatten out. We did collect a few leeches along the way but our bag of salt soon took care of them. There were very few nettles on the track.
The round trip took us 1 hour & 20 mins and it was a great way to spend the afternoon. SL TFTC Rock-hopper (don't know how you find these spots, but so glad you do). Fav point !

A tough walk. All up, up, up. Well worth the effort Thanks Geo caching. We will remenber this walk and the view for a long time.
Out for a days caching with steeba and we chose to concentrate our efforts in the Kiama region.
This a cache that I've been meaning to get to for some time now. Today steeb and I trekked up the hill, first for a rest at the seat and then onto GZ where we soon had the cache in hand.
We both wondered where the track continued onto.
Thanks

Found on a run with The Rats mainly tackling the Kiama suburbs series by Wilbert67.
This might have been close to the biggest walk we did today but as The Rats said "It had to be done" i.e. another one off the list. The track is sadly a bit neglected but goes to a great spot (and further?). Stopping to look at the figtrees after The Rats pointed them out was quite amazing. TFTC!

My legs are burning, but what a stunning spot and amazing tree. Path was in good condition the whole way up, with markers making it obvious where to go. Was grateful for the bench to sit and admire the view and get my puff back, then walked further on to GZ for a quick find. Only saw one tiny leech the whole time, some mozzies but nothing major. TFTC!

Another great location brought to our attention by geocaching! The tree cover near GZ (temperate rainforest) was such that my GPSr was a little bit lost. Trying to get a clear location was difficult and the satellite signal strength was all over the shop. This sent me around in circles for a bit. Eventually a rethink and the hint led me to the true GZ with my GPSr still saying it was 44m away!
Thank you very much Rock-hopper for a great location for a cache.

What a beautiful place to visit, the fig trees are massive, the the track there are back were quite slippery, the geo hubbie on his rear end having a slide on an occasion . Took GC as its been here for quite some time. Definatly give this one a fab point, thanks Rock-hopper for showing this beautiful location.
Just beautiful. Think elbow pads and helmet may be necessary. Like when I tried to in-line skate...Very slipery but really loved the location and magnificant trees. SLTN..TFTC
A cache at the pinnacle of what it’s all about, absolutely fabulous and highly recommended. So much better than finding a matchbox under a bus stop seat.
We began the trek not really knowing what expect but soon arrived at a serenic location well worthy of the journey.
Many thanks Rock-hopper for sharing this special place with us.

Another great cache in the Berry - Kangaroo Valley district. Set off with a bit of trepidation given the description but the track is well sign posted and clear now. Though the warnings about nettles and slippery mud are well heeded. Found the traditional cache cammo box exactly where advertised. Enjoyed the walk up, the view to the coast, the lyre birds song and even a glimpse of its tail. Impressed by the size of the resident wombats burrow. A ture caching experience. Thanks Heaps
Thankfully the landcare volunteers have done a little work on the track, but it is still overgrown and the nettles are still there.
A sturdy pair of jeans managed to keep the leeches off bare skin.
A magical place, worth the walk. Lost satellite reception at GZ, so thanks for the hint, .
T - 3 travel bugs
L - 1 travel bug and a pink egg with a toy inside.
SL, TFTC.

Enough stinging nettle to let your skin know it's alive. Enough of a hill to let your heart know its alive. Enough humidity to give the sweat glands a thorough work out. And enough beauty to make it all worthwhile.
Once near GZ the cache was an easy find. After cache duties it was time for some photos. I could have stayed here for hours, clicking away - but time was limited so after half an hour and lots of photos I headed down.
This is definitely one of the best caches I've done in quite a while. Well done rock-hopper on finding this track. I can't imagine how overgrown it must have been when you found it. Even with a few of us venturing up over the last few weeks, its still a battle in places. I'd love to know more about the track. When was it built? Why? If it was build in 2008 as the seat suggests, why is it so overgrown? Where do you get to if you continue on passed the cache? So many questions......
Thanks Rock-hopper for a truly memorable experience.

As a hot Australia day was predicted I decided to leave early. started the track (wich I found easily) a bit before 7 am and worked my way up. The walk turned out to be everything the cache owner promised!!
This is why I started caching in the first place, finding tracks and places I wouldn't have gotten to otherwise. At the found of the cache I was once surprised again (as I didn't check before leaving home) to have a FTF!!!
Thanks for the great experience, Wilbert67

As Wilbert said a HOT Australia Day was predicted so I got away as soon as I saw the listing which was 2 hours after Wilbert found it. I had looked for this walk quite a while ago & had checked with council but they didn't have any info. My topo showed a walk but unfortunately the trackhead was, at the time, hidden behind thick weeds so I missed out. A steep section initially then easy going. Unbeknown to me I picked up two hitch-hikers who I photographed for prosperity. Salt then betadine.
I left a piece of milky blue howlite & signed the logbook. On the return I met two fellow cachers taking advantage of the cooler weather.
Thanks Rock-hopper for finding this enjoyable walk & sharing it with us.

Before we left home it looked like a nice day for a walk even with3* terrain.
Once we traversed the first section of nettles and stated the ascent of the hill the humidity almost stopped us it was tough going. The odd leach (4 total) gave us reason to stop and rest.
What an amazing interesting place, I would love to know the history and where the road / track leads to and why it was built.
The rest seat says it was put in by a group in 2008. I don’t think there has been anybody there since as the leeches were starving!
TFTC R/Hopper once again and excellent location you have shown us.
