Continuing along here this afternoon, had to jump a fence or two along the way but soon found my way to the final here, nice quick find, TFTC
Give this one a miss until beginning of October (2024) or until sheep have been moved on.Nosy sheep in paddock, didn't realise that there were sheep with lambs on the other side of the electric fence. Given them a wide berth. With reshamfiriri.
Found with kakariki. Very friendly and curious sheep. Best to avoid this one till lambing over. TFTC
Heading to Waimate for lunch - with feet firmly on the ground instead of in the air!Not so far to walk to this one and starting to rain so won't be long and the overgrown grass will be very wet. Quick find here TFTC Bitsprayer
Aromatic indeed! Loved the container! Found with campmotherandken & HRH54 a favourite from us. TFTC
We were having a bit of trouble with the Compass, and did a bit of bush bashing and then realised when it behaved it's self,we had stepped over it.Duh...TFTH
We had this cache on our radar the last time we were in Waimate, but didn't find the way in. Today, we had a WP on our GPSrs that we thought we'd check out and it lead us to a gate. There was a large flock of sheep and lambs in the paddock, which StreetWalkerNZ was a little cautious about, but we couldn't find any notices prohibiting entry, so in we went.
The sheep were not happy about us and made a bit of a racket, but left a way clear for us to get to GZ. Love the replacement container - nice one Busy paws.
Good to turn this into a smile. TFTC.

#21721. The field was full of ewes and lambs. I was a bit wary of going in, but Troodles forged ahead and we made it across the field without incident (other than a decent amount of baaaaa'ing). Troodles quickly found the nicely themed replacement container. TFTC.
10/10 Great container!! Moved it out of the deep deep overgrown underbrush & put it in a more practical spot.
This was a quick find once we found the entrance. Cache was badly damaged and logbook very wet. Busypaws replaced the container with a themed container.
Once we found the way in to this un named reserve area, the cache was a quick find, however, as Lytteltonwitch has explained, the cache was totally munted. I had a variety of staid, usual and unusual cache containers in the cachemobile , this one is just SO appropriate it is in place with photo to the CO. Hope it brings a smile to the dial. I'll give it the 1st fav. TFTC
I actually like the walkways round these types of ponds - they almost resemble a lake with the various birdlife floating on them. At first I tried to access this from the building but found the correct access further along. Sorry hadn't read the previous log so didn't come prepared to replace the wet log. TFTC # 13,943
Quick find but cache lid badly broken and log too sodden to sign. Photo attached.
I have been here before but could never find an obvious way but today i was determined to find the little bugger and that I did fyi there was a Paddy wagon parked at the house across the road i suspect I was being watched tftc Mr BITSPRAYER
Multiple angry sounding little dogs across the road alerted everyone we had arrived, stealth mode was lacking today lol. Log is soaking and unsignable (pic attached). Still a nice walk on a lovely crisp sunny winter's day. TFTC
Um... thanks for... um... bringing... me here... thanks... dodged the sheep poo across the paddock... and log was just poos... too sloppy to sign.
Wow! It's March already & I was the first to find this cache this year. Left some lovely swaps. Didn't even know this paddock was here. It even has a picnic table!
Came here on a morning bike ride to find some of the caches on this side of Waimate. Definitely rather aromatic today! Vast numbers of ducs appeared to have made the place their home during the shooting season, a cloud of them took off as I arrived. The cache was a quick find - signed log, TFTC
"Unsere Kleine" ist für ein Jahr in diesem schönen Land. Daher steht unser Name jetzt auch in einer Dose aus Neuseeland. Danke sagen Katrin und Michael aus Germany
a nice easy one, Jr spotted it quickly. Didn't know these plantings were even here, thanks for the history lesson
Today a new cacher accompanied me today to learn the ways of locating caches. We had a ball having a walk around Knottingley Park. There was no formed walkway to the GZ but there were 2 gateways to go through.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
TFTC Found while taking a group girls from Waitaki Girls High School on a great day geocaching as part of their activities week.
After a few dnf's, we decided to give up on the park and take the side walkway. The track was quite muddy, but interestingly progressively less aromatic as we got to gz! I think the park end was the worst. Still - not sure who would bring a picnic to enjoy here... TFTC!!

After failing at raging we jumped the fence for a quick find here. Lots of ducks around hiding from the hunters. Tftc
A couple of dogs across the road yapped at us then as we got closer to GZ, a flock of birds flew squarking overhead - all in all a very noisy (and slightly smelly) cache. Found with Aoraki Sheep and Woody104
Of course the co-ords had to lead us to the furthest point away from the gate - nice to make a quick find. Found with debsnz and Woody104
found with axllal today, nice day out caching in the wimo area, cheers for this one.
A straightforward find with the only hazard being the copious quantities of sheep poo that seemed to want to attach to our shoes. This was the last cache we found on our morning in Knottingley Park and I'm going to be claiming it towards my Ramblers Reward.
Last find on the dog walk before heading home. Great way to spend a couple of hours. Thanks
TFTC. It was not the aroma that I was expecting at this cache - I was smelling a lot of sheep ****, but that was ok.
Found while flobberworm! and purdiepurdie are down south on a caching break.

Not too much of a stench today! TFTC!

Found during 'The Gangsters' trip to New Zealand, being Big Matt, The Rats, steeba and myself.
Plenty of sheep about today and thankfully the nearby facility didn't give too much of an odour today.
Thanks Bitsprayer for the cache.

I thought I was back at work nearing this cache. We use these settling ponds back home.
Thanks

NZ12. This was a fun walk through the pine forest and then onto the planted area. There was a sheep on the wrong side of the fence, getting a bit desperate, but there was no gate. The cache was not too hard and it was a nice place to explore. Thanks.

Not the best of area in the park but enjoyed the walk around for a few caches. TFTC
Easy find but felt a tad exposed. Not sure if I was the reason for the barking dog but there was a fair amount of noise coming from the house across the way. TFTC
Ahh, the end of the walk. Awesome moon tonight, didn't need the torches to find this one. TNLN Thanks
A quick find on a big caching day from Christchurch with Kiwi Moose. A nice nighttime stroll with a full moon to guide us. Thanks for the hide.
Easy find. Guessed it a few metres away, and could see the cache from 5ms. TFTC TNLN SL
We held our noses and ran like hell, found in the dark after another long caching dayTFTC

Long grass arghhhh, damn hay-fever, at least I couldn't smell the roses. I startled two paradise ducks and their chick on the way back to the car and it was cool to see how the parents created a diversion to distract me away from where they had left their baby, so cool. Thanks.

Another one for the nuvi, since the etrex only uses 6 numbers there are a few round here that have the same first 6 numbers, so the nuvi's king today. TFTC
Either the wind was blowing the right way or my nose was blocked - it wasn't very aromatic at all. I did pause to wonder about how aromatic all the ducks resting on the pond were! I don't think I'd be game to eat wild duck.
