Today B737 & I made a return trip to Wagga Wagga as we notice the RGGT trail had been maintained. I was behind the wheel this time with B737 as navigator. Jetfusalage stayed at home manning the playstation. We'd missed about 9 of the series last time & were keen to complete it. Today it was quite a bit warmer than our last trip & it was interesting to see how the scene had changed. This time it was much drier and we had our first experience of grass seeds in the socks for the summer. We really like Wagga Wagga. It's clearly a prosperous country centre with heaps of caches. But it's quite hard to plan a route around an unfamiliar town. We had a knack of seeking all the most difficult or missing caches and spending way too much time looking for them. We'll just have to come back I guess.
We were wondering how we missed this one last time, but given its proximity to the final RGGT, I think we were otherwise distracted. I scaled the gate and did the leg work for this one.
Thanks for the cache watchdog05.

Back for another day flight from Canberra, this time with StrangeTrousers as pilot, to pick up the rest of the magnificent RGGT trail which were missing on our last run. Drove right past this one last time without even realising it was there. On arrival, I was worried it was private land but a review of the cache description suggested it was OK to scale the gate. Unfortunately the heat had really gotten to me about an hour before and the mere sight of the gate was enough to make my stomach turn so StrangeTrousers went in for the kill here. Beautiful countryside around here. Love all the old houses in Wagga, it's a lovely town. TFTC watchdog05
I wasn't quite dressed for gate climbing, but I managed anyway. Now the GPS arrow was pointing directly at a herd of cows and calves (had already checked for Bulls). OK spotting the likely hidey hole it was a cautious walk around the cattle. Then an inquisitive calf headed over towards me and watched closely as I carried out cache duties. By then they had enough of me and moved off. TNLN thanks.
Tftc nice easy is wat we r after atm. Enjoying my stay in wagga because of fellow geocachers. Thank oo
We decided to head north for a days caching out on the trail with Kiara001, The Lost Wanderers and 3inOne (with the GeoPrincess riding shotgun). And what a great day it was with kiddies and adult kiddies having a great time running around and swapping cars.
We found this little gem after finishing the power trail nearby and was on our way to the final of that series at a nearby undisclosed location.
Thanks watchdog05 for the nicely hidden cache.

The most difficult part of this cache was getting over that locked gate. Enjoyed the short walk in this lovely area and a quick find before having to struggled back past that gate again TFTC watchdog05
Another find, my fifth for the day, caching with an old friend, ADV, from New Zealand.
Interesting place, a stile would be handy my days for climbing fences are nearly over.

Found by Mary & David at 0950. Over the gate and a lovely short walk, and there was the cache. Nice to see a patch of preserved vegetation. Views were pretty good too. Our thanks to watchdog05.
After a nice little stroll the cache was located with a wholl full of some sort of flies. Thanks watchdog05 FTC.
Having arrived in Wagga on Monday afternoon plans were made to find a few caches in the cool of the evening. The main event being planned for Tuesday where we hit the trail to do the series Riverina series. Great fun and we thank watchdog05 for placing this cache.
Found while on a great Caching expedition to Wagga Wagga with the WEEO, first time I have been exhausted by caching! (sorry for the late log). TFTC
Just had a great Caching experience with the Newberys caching the RGGT trail with the Newberys. We ejoyed it so much we just kept going to do these local caches. TFTC TNLN.
I'm doing a GeoCaching tourist trip - The GeoSchnauzers and I are off to Wagga Wagga and surrounds, just under 200 kms from home. It's Monday morning, and we're off in good time. Once out of Canberra, the first cache I haven't found is past Yass. I've booked into a cheap motel which will accept the dogs, I'm kitted up with dog gear, geocaching gear, computer gear, for geocaching, and even gear for me to wear.
Tuesday. It' s a beautiful day, sunny, and promising to be hot for spring, as was yesterday. Today, the GeoSchnauzers and I are doing the RGGT Power Trail. I'm not sure how this will go, as I'm by myself in the car, and this is nearly four times as many caches as I have previously done in a day (22 caches). As it turned out, I did 84 today - 79 of 80 RGGT caches (1 DNF), the RGGT Finale puzzle cache, and fours others on the way back to the motel.
Apologies for the generic logs. I have recorded something that struck me about most of the caches, but I did it on paper, as I don't like logging via an Android - typing is too time consuming. As a result, I may have got some of the cache comments against the wrong cache, but you'll get the idea.
It turned out also that I did the Power trail in about 6.5 hours, less than five minutes per cache. Not bad, considering the driving, searching, logging and dog walking I did. - Here we go:
No 22 of 84 today. The geoSchnauzers and I walked up to this one, slowly, as I'm tired, doubtless from sitting in the car most of the day, and we found this one easily, in its nice hide. Thanks for this one!!

Found during a twenty four hour caching trip with Steeba. We had headed into the Riverina, aiming to complete the Riverina Geocaching Geotriad Tribute Power Trail in Wagga Wagga (I have found one cache of the Triad, Geocaching HQ) and the Endangered Species Power Trail in Bookham, whilst also collecting the odd cache or two along the way. This was one of many cache finds across a 24 hour period; I hope that you will forgive the generic log. We signed many cache logs over the course of a travels as "H & S."
We took about 2.5 hours for the Riverina Geocaching Geotriad Power Trail on Friday night, and 3.5 hours for the Endangered Species Power Trail on Saturday morning. Pretty good times we thought. We immensely enjoyed our trip, and thank all of the cache hiders for their efforts.
A quick find after finishing the Power Trail.
Cheers

Easy enough cache, seems to be a reserve but gated, there are a couple like this around Wagga. The bovine occupants are very friendly! Took nothing, left a few toy beans.
This cache is behind a locked gate in a paddock full of cattle. Hence I didn't venture into the paddock as it seems like it may be private land.
Found on our Wagga Wagga trip. On the way to the final puzzle for the RGGT PT, we decided to quickly run up the hill to get this one. Jumped over the gate and walked straight up to GZ for a quick find. Nice view of the lush green grass. TNLNSL. TFTC watchdog5!
Just about back home after a 6 day trip to SA with McPhan. This was the final cache of over 800, and a relief to finally have all the logging done!
I'll take this opportunity to thank my travelling companion, McPhan, for his passenger skills, companionship, humour, intelligence, and outstanding finding skills. He did nearly all of the work, whilst I lazed in the warm dry car and did most of the driving.
We gotta do this again sometime....

[center]8619. [green] Whew. This is the last log of the Winglen/McPhan South Australia Odyssey 4.0. Overall we found over 800 caches in the 7 days we have been away and traveled well over 1700km.
This was a nice change of pace what with having to keep the inquisitive cattle at bay. An easy find and then a stroll to the car and on to home.
I'll take this opportunity to thank my traveling companion, winglen, for his driving skills, companionship, humour, intelligence, mopping up skills (when I miss the cache) and generally being very easy to get on with for the entire trip - can't be always easy with me being . . . well me.
So next Odyssey to where?

An interesting reserve this is, had we not known we would have assumed this was a normal paddock. Didn't spot the cache immediately because of my sunnies. Then had it out once I took them off.
[:(!] Left Albury to go Griffith to stay with a son and his family for awhile and went via Wagga to do the RGGT Series and a few extra ones on the side and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

After a great year at work I finally plan some leave at Christmas time to catch up with friends and family, and of course plan a few geocaching trips further afield than my ususal stomping grounds. Blacklegend had mentioned that he was heading south to Tocumwal for Christmas and was going to cache a bit in the area in the coming days. So after discussing his plans I was able to get my chores done at home in record time and then head north to meet up with him and 4 of his kids to tackle the Riverina Geocaching's Geotriad Tribute Series and a few extras along the way. It was a really long day for me but well worth the finds. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. I had a great time. A bit of a walk to this one!
I was down in Tocumwal, visiting our Daughter Jess, and her new Daughter, Sienna, also being my Grand Daughter for Christmas and New Year. I could not resist some caching while down. Actually, I should say I could not resist a whole heap of caching. This day was Christmas Eve. The wife and older daughters were out doing some last minute preperations for Christmas Day, so what better way for me to spend it than caching.
I was provided with a lucky opportunity to catch up with Trailrunning who I had organized a meet up with for the day. We completed the Riverina Geocaching's GeoTriad Tribute series and a few other caches. A fantastic day with some good find numbers. We didn't set any time records with the 4 kids we had, but in all, around 4 hours or just under saw the caching completed. Thanks for a great series.
Logs will be generic, but if a special comment is needed, I will put it in.

A plan was struck with Boot65 to head down the highway from Canberra to collect the RGGT Trail as well as some extra's if we had the time. We had an extra seat in the car, so Rapidlywild joined in the trek. As we had finished the trail it was time to collect a few more around before heading to get some lunch. Over the fence, Boot65 did it with easy and grace, FFLL no 2 not so much. Kept the occupants in the car amused, TFTC
2795. Grabbed this one after the trail with FurfacesLL. Why do some people make negotiating a gate so hard. A nice walk and the treasure was discovered. TFTC.
Found at 12:16 PM GAFF1. Just picking up a few caches after finishing the RGGT series. The cache description needs to be altered as the gate is now closed and it is a tricky jump over the fence for anyone no longer as agile as us .
The flies kept on following us - this new batch are more persistent than the previous lot - didn't even breath through the nose while signing the log book [xx(].

Found on our mini Wagga invasion from Canberra with Mtrax, Albida33 and Noikmeister! The weather forecast was doubtful, with showers predicted on Sunday, but we had 2 wonderful days, with barely a cloud in the sky, let alone any rain!
We spent 2 days here, also enjoyed a nice dinner with fellow cachers in the evening, had a sleepless night in the local hotel, with roudy types making noise in the corridors until the wee hours of the morning, and cought up with another fellow cacher for lunch on day 2.
Found around 130 caches all up - can’t complain about that! Thanks again WD5.
