Time to go if it's not there?
Time to go if it's not there?
Had some free time so after the recent dnf's i decided to see if it was still there/could be found. It may still be there but I spent quite a long time looking.
Hunted around the big knob with no success. Spoke to fellow cacher who lives closeby to the cache at a family gathering later that night and he advised the cache was tricky and small. Maybe I will seek further assistance next time in Sydney.
Doh! Lots of hiding places. In sure I've been over it but no chocolates today. I'll be back
Plenty of critters around, but no cache at the GZ I could find (there are plenty of hide spots to check).
Well this cache was definitely an explosive hunt! We made the short trek through the scrub after the rain & noted the pterodactyl mozzies. Got to gz & we watched our OC do a bit of a rock scramble. Down below geokid 7 noticed a leech on geokid 5. It was enormous, biggest one I've ever seen. Where are we, Jurrasic World?! Lots of squealing & we bailed leaving geo dad to look on his own. Upon his return to the car we did a quick check of the geokids & found a couple more on geokids 5 shoe & on geodad's leg. We finally get in the geomobile & geokid 7 says, what's this blood.... Out we get again & take off everyone's shoes & socks & yep!!! More of them, varying sizes, none as big as the first one though. More screaming & squealing, I'm sure the neighbours thought someone was being murdered. We even found a leech in the geomobile?!! At least geodad found the cache! Could say we (he) disarmed this one. Thanks for the cool cache & a hunt that none of will ever forget! Cheers Stealthiest xo
Managed not to find it! While being distracted by spiders and thunder in the distance, I managed not to find it.
HAPPY 13th Henry!!!
Went today to find this cache with geomum, geosis, and Alex the ninja, high climb and finally THE CACHE!!. <3 the container alot and though that the hide was excellent. WATCH OUT FOR SIDERS - those damn things creep me out.

Looking at the maps I figured parking in Valley View Crescent would provide the quickest walk to GZ. Then as my compass pointed towards the rocks I had second thoughts. Oh, I've been climbing trees, waterfalls, cliffs and walls for other caches recently, so what's another rock climb? Except it's starting to get dark! Once I found a step up, I carefully moved along the ledge and soon I spotted where the micro in the bush might be hidden. And there it was. First of this cache kind I've seen so making it a favourite. Lucky I remembered to bring tweezers, and log was completed. A nice view from up here. Now how do I get down again? TFTC. But who puts a micro in the bush? Stealthiest obviously! Great work. #144.
Found after an early morning job in Yarrawarrah. I must have come in the hardest way to GZ (apart from climbing the cliff) as I bush bashed over the top and then hopped along the ledge. Plenty of places to look but this was my lucky day and I had the CIH in about a minute and a half. The cleared area below GZ looked quite inviting but I wasn't sure if it was private property or not so back over the top I went. Dipped a TB through for mileage. Many thanks Stealthiest
A nice find just before giving up. 4 from 4 today and some lovely bush walking and climbing too!
Find #1598 - 1 for today. Found on 12/04/2015 9:27 am
Coords are spot on. Found the track on the top and followed it to GZ where it was a quick find, even though there are a lot of hiding spots. Thanks. TNSLLN

Look up "wicked" in the dictionary and you might find "Copper Bomb" as the definition.
Seriously - a micro, in this terrain!?
After 15 minutes looking at an infinity of possibilities, looked up the hint. Well, that halved the possibilities - like infinity/2 = infinity.
Then I realised I might have been taking the title too literally - it's not copper coloured.
Another 10 minutes and finally!!!
Glad this one's out of the way.

Wow this was a harder one but the 14 year old eventually located it. We didn't even know this reserve existed in our suburb.

Running short of time before work after coming out this way for another cache. 10 minutes of rustling around and it looks like i would be defeated by the dreaded micro in the bush. Once last look before i give up and voila CIH. TFTC
searching for a good twenty minutes! climbing and sliding! as soon as I saw the loose rock I knew it was there GGFT
Found with Wollaston. Not sure why you would hide a micro in the middle of the bush.
Found with McCharles on a pre Cruise Cache day out. Even had to resort to the old GPSr for assistance. TFTC
Not too hard but a bit like a needle in a haystack. Note: do not wear slippery shoes on a wet night :/
Have often wondered what was to be found with the name copper bomb......now we know!

Liked the container on this cache and noticed lots of little wrens in the surrounding trees. TFTC
This one was looking like a needle in a hay stack but, with accurate coords and some clues from previous finders, it was soon found. TFTC Stealthiest
The Top track is the best or you will have a little rock climb up to the cache
took me about 20mins to find it.

Better starting on Top track, otherwise it's a nice little rock climb... Nice copper bomb
Heading up to the T20 cricket with The Rats we stopped by Engadine to grab a few caches. I liked the idea of exploring all these rock holes. Dad spotted the find while I was looking in another spot.
Thanks
Thanks
Heading up to the T20 cricket bash with the mini rats we swung past Engadine to grab a couple of caches. This was our last cache in this area.
So many potential places that the mini rats and I had to divide n conquer. Eventually we found the hiding spot.
The name of this conjures up so many memories of my childhood. They were days of blowing things up.

Found after my first day back at work.
I must have had a good day as I found it in the first place I looked.

That was a tough one. Very well hidden. Took two searches. Needed the geomum for that one.
I found it very hard

Very well hidden and took a while to find but we were happy to find it. A bit of climbing involved.
1654. Up from Canberra for the day and after dropping two employees off for a training course, decided to do some caching. Made the short stroll and a quick find followed with nice views and some rock hopping. TFTC.
Found it. A nice neat little one in a good location. Some very interesting rock formations in the area.
Happy Australia day to all. TFTC Stealthiest.

Found with geokid Ned. Log was trashed so I've replaced it. If the CO wants the old log, contact me. On the way out ran into another geocacher, head down GPS on! Nice meeting you! TFTC stealthiest.
I love caching during the holidays you get to meet other cachers whie out on the trail..
I was just about to climb up to GZ when as I looked up there was someone up there
Pon71y & his Geoson were on their way down, so I had a chat to the for a while then we both parted ways.
Nice meeting you two and Thanks Stealthiest for the Cache

Found it! Could here thuds of a wallaby, too busy looking for the cache to go looking for the wallaby.
There are millions of hiding spots for the micros, smalls, regulars and even large......
Dont know why you like the micro caches in such large areas where you could almost hide anything..
Anyway, the cache was located, the log is trashed.
Thanks

Looked and looked but no success. Lots and lots of hiding spots but hint didn't help narrow it down. Nice location. Cheers.

While staying at Engadine, I needed a streak find today, so drove here and parked close to GZ. Although....then it was an uphill battle to get to GZ I made it and started searching. The GPSr had me at a different terrain rating than posted, so I just widened my search. After a good 10min and with the sun almost set, I checked in one more place and found the little copper bomb...hehehe...clever! The paper is all crumpled, but I managed to extract it and signed on a blank area. CO will need to replace log soon. Thanx for a little toughy, Gets a FAV from me.TFTC.

TFTC, Visited with a group of trackables finding Caches close to home and learning about the local area.
Quite a steep climb but worth it. A lovely little peaceful spot. Take a spider web stick. Clever hide TFTC
Love this one. A beautiful location. Enjoyed the walk (through a few spider webs) and the climb.
The cache is a bit wet.

Reperio at 0845.
Was originally going to park as close as I could and go through the bush, but soon realised the going would be pretty tough, so headed around to the end of the street. Glad I did as the walk to GZ was very nice, and once I got a little closer and could see where I was headed, expected to have a lengthy search to find the cache. As it was though, the coords were spot on, and the cache was found in the second spot I looked. This is a great spot for a cache.

TNLN, SL, clever hide, had us guessing due to GPS jumping around a bit and a cryptic previous log, persevered and found it in the end.
Did a couple of caches around here already in the past, but I hadn't been up this street? Started at the bottom and ended up on top only to heqad back down again. Very tricky to put a micro like this in this area! One out of place stone gave it away in the end.

Took quite a lot of searching to locate the good little cache. Nice area. SL TFTC
You had me running all over this hill passed it about 5 times TFTCSL hope to catch up soon
I was out on a cache run cleaning up some long overdue local caches. This one turned up surprisingly quickly. Even though it's a dreaded micro, at least it was innovative. Thanks Stealthiest.

Great cache, found it quite quickly. We used some charcoal from nearby burnt trees to write in it as we'd forgotten our pen! Great location!
Thanks to the The Arkaroo for this wonderful cache at lunchtime. Struggled with locating it while the Arkaroo tried a little bouldering around. Should have paid attention to the title. Anyway found it in the end and took "The Doctors TARDIS wheel" to find it a new home.
Back here after just one day! geo_lovers, kuy and I had lunch together in Engadine, the weather was excellent, smelling spring, and a little bouldering exercise would be great. Unfortunatedly, my jeans were a bit tight, so could not really stretch. We all had good fun to come to this lovely place. Thanks again, for showing us the place, The Arkaroo.
Desperately looking for a cache during my lunch time in Engadine, to drop off TB The Doctors TARDIS wheel, who must stay in Australia - and I am heading overseas shortly. Wow, what a nice bush island here! Grass trees, rocks - just beautiful. I parked my car at the opposite site, knowing there was probably a closer place but I wanted to have that little bush bash and exercise getting over the cliffs. At GZ, I found the place quickly, soon having all the spider webs in my face. Signal jumped, so I went searching in a bigger radius, until I decided, if I was going to hide it - then it'll be there! And there it was. Haha, can you imagine? Forgot my pen! Sorry mate - took a photo and marked an "A" with earth colors. All a bit small for a TB, but the place looks so safe and dry to me that I placed it just in front of the micro.
Well done, thanks for bringing me out here, mate! I remembered when it was published and I was going to head off when it was FTF already!

Fiiiiiinalyy!! GPS was still a long way off but found it anyways after our fourth attempt
This was one that I walked away being glad that I found and would have frustrated me if I hadn't/ A micro? So many places it could be! Is it up, down, around?
After a short search I had the cache in hand thank goodness and it was a pleasant trip into this nice little piece of bushland. TFTC!

I had an up and down walk to this one, found it with ease,(it was about a metre from where I put the GPSr down), and then I found I had left the pen in the car, grrr, so I used a piece of burnt bark to sign the log. Could the next finder who is more together than me, go over my log with a real pen?, thanks. And thanks to Stealthiest, a great little cache.
Luckily for Mr Us, this was an easy find, as Mr H from The Hancock Clan was with me & I had just watched him walk around in circles looking for the nearby Timber Chimney. I didn't want to look as silly as that!

TFTC - I could see it from some distance so I tucked it further around the corner of the same hidey hole. Should make it a little trickier.
Found with geo-amba on a quick drive around the area.
What a strange rating, a micro in the bush with a million options and only a 2 rating,
and the terrain at only 1.5, when you obviously don't find it that easy when you get there, is just weird.
No matter which way you approach it, it is not a 1.5 in any rating method.
Needs updating for future finders, especially visitors from outside the area.
I ventured up down and all around as the Oregon was wandering due to the area.
Found it eventually after I checked with a local about the correctness of the rating &
realised it was rated a bit low for its true terrain and difficulty.
And there should be a warning about danger in this type of area, especially for kids.
TNLNSL TFTC,

we finished work on time for a change and so we walked from near the station to this one quite a nice stroll, actually passed the easiest entry point but soon turned around and found our way in, a lovely spot and so peaceful, found the cache and entered inot the log, was almost put off by the electronic item nearby, but all good and a nice cache placement, tyftc
A very stealthy hide indeed. Made my approach from the wrong spot so a bit of scrambling was required. Thoroughly enjoyed the search so thanks Stealthiest for your cache.
