Visited the site again 16/04/2023. The works around GZ are still ongoing and extensive and look like they will not be done for the end of April (as previously indicated).
Visited the site again this morning and spoke to a groundsperson who stated that the works were supposed to be finished by now however the extensive rains have delayed completion. He did suggest that the works may be complete around End of April. For info on the works, see: https://haveyoursay.cbcity.nsw.gov.au/WileyParkDevelopmentofaMasterplan
It looks like even if we do get to reestablish the cache (I'll have to build a new one to suit once we scope out the new installations) it may be that the cache gets disabled again when the 'upper pond' works occur (pending funding according to council).

UPDATE/OWNER CHECK 19Dec2022 - Council are doing extensive upgrades to the park. As such, the cache itself is gone and the area where it was inaccessible. We will keep an eye on it and the council works with a view to reestablish the original cache once works are finished.
I think the current construction in this park has made this cache impossible to find. Not 100%sure but I think so. Thanks for the nice walk around the park anyways
Great way to explore the park. I wondered what happened to the velodrome! I made my way to GZ and spent ages looking pondering on the hint when something caught my eye. Having to wait ages for people to leave I investigated and thought this is it, just not sure how to retrieve. Confirmed with CO and gave it another go between walkers. Signed and replaced. TFTC
I have driven past this cache nearly everyday for almost a year now and I couldn’t stare at it any longer. I had no trouble getting the required info at waypoints 1 and 2 how ever it was the final cache that gave me the most trouble. I searched and searched for ages, I even had my hand on it at one point without even realising. Luckily I was able to make the find before losing my patience. The hint made sense once I made the find, I can’t believe it didn’t click in my head earlier on. Thank you for the cache!
Team_McKay I found your cache Duck for Cover on 14/10/20, 12:15 pm. This is my find 2762 and find # 3 today. Finally can get a smiley. Tried this a few years back unsuccessfully. Thought I give it one more go. Did the calculations, pretty sure I calculated GZ correctly and as before got stuck with the hint. Searched all around, reread logs, looked at photos, couldn’t figure it out. Until I stepped back and looked at the big picture I spotted something that matched the hint and sure enough that was it. Very well constructed camouflage. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Today I took a nice walk in this park.
Many ducks and birds I could look at.
I visited the individual stages and noted down all necessary numbers.
Thank you

As the McCartney song goes, "I swung all over that long tall bank in the main street." Or GZ in this case. I even saw what I was looking for, but just could not put my hand on it.
#1824 First of four finds on a Sunday around the inner west with Rieka. Great little multi and enjoyed walking around the park. Had to be careful with the calculations but got the prize in the end. Unfortunately there was very little water at GZ but we did spot a few ducks. TFTC
1st find on a beautiful Sunday with Aussiewolves. Sorted the clues, CIH. Beautiful park, ponds were pretty dry unfortunately, but ample bird life. TFTC
Started with a 5 km run along Cooks river and mounted my bike for a total of almost 30 km to find lots of caches along the river/canal/stormdrain. Al were find quite quick and easy. A few more quick stops on the way home

Team_McKay I didn’t find your cache Duck for Cover on 9/2/19, 11:54 am. Lovely park, did the calculations, pretty sure from previous logs and photos I was in the right place but after a long search came up empty handed.
We can't for the life of us work out how this could remain unfound for six months. We were the first ones in 2018. This is a very good multi-cache. We picked the park for a picnic lunch between geocaching in Riverwood and Costco. And it had a cache. Had our lunch overlooking the park. Made our way to GZ and selected the correct plaque. Did our calcs and headed to WP2. There we made a silly mistake of not reading the instructions properly. So it took us a little while to work out the bridge thing. However that led us to visit the entire park which is very nice and very well used by picnicking, cricketing and partying families. Once we saw the error in our ways we were able to correctly calculate GZ. We had an inkling about what we might find there. But that isn't what we saw. At least not at first. Mr Gaztek almost fell into the creek when he spotted it. Whoa, that was totally unnecessary. Very clever hide and construction and a favourite from us - for the container and the nice park and the fun approach. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
After messing the calcs for this one a couple of weeks ago I invited geodaughter to assist me this morning. After arriving at the first wp it was soon evident where I had made my previous mistake - wrong plaque. After readjusting the numbers we headed off to count the bridges and it wasn't too long before we had a reasonable looking GZ. At GZ we searched for about 15mins before I spied something that looked out of place and it was soon CIH. What excellent camo and definitely a fav point from me for this fun cache. TFTC.
The hint was spot on! Great cache from start to finish. Worth an FP. TFTC Team_McKay
I was out this afternoon with Brewmaker and EverestHigh around the Strathfield area looking for some caches. We first stopped off here on the way back to find this cache. On a previous attempt I had only gotten as far as the car park, when a telephone call interrupted and made me leave this cache for another time. So back today.
We headed towards gz and I spotted the cache straight away, thanks to a bit of nearby help. I had to take care retrieving the log, but managed it ok. After signing I let EverestHigh return it to its hiding spot. A very clever and crafty cache in a nice park. Didn't see many ducks today but there were lots of White Ibis and even a rabbit! Then it was back in the car and home. TFTC

Found this morning while out with the geokiddies at the park.
This is our second attempt at this one. The last attempt gave me a WP2 in someone's backyard so we gave up. Today more thorough reading of plaques resulted in a more plausible WP2. So off we walked/scootered to count bridges and soon a likely GZ was revealed. Approaching this area I immediately spotted something a little out of place but the phone was nudging me elsewhere. After some fruitless searching I went back to what I spotted sure enough the very sneaky hide was found! First time I've found one like this! Well done on the camo. After making the find we enjoyed the rest of the morning playing and duck

Great little multi in a nice parkland. Worked out all WPs and wasnt too long before we had CIH. Have given this have fav due yo the camo. Well done.
My 900th find. Somehow managed to stuff up the wp1 coords checked, nope that can't be right. Did calculations again and not sure how we stuffed them up the first time. Nice walk down to wp2 did calcs and made it to the gz. Soon spotted the hide and extracted very carefully. Fave point from me for the camo and making it an enjoyable cache for my 900th
Got all the details I needed, but it was waaaaaaaaay too busy to do the final part of the game. Next time!
My first attempt at a multi resulting in a DNF. I was sure I followed instructions was at GZ but couldn't find the cache. Geomum and I looked for ages. I was hoping one of us would have the eureka moment but no
I was sure I worked out the hint but just no finding it
Will have to have another attempt next time I am down from Brisbane visiting my mum.

Tftc. Very steamy today, but a pleasant walk through the park collecting info. Mrs jaybeem spotted the hide immediately.
Having just completed a multi at Campsie, I thought I'd give this a go on the way home. I have driven past this park hundreds of times over the years but never stopped to look. What a nice surprise, despite the gloomy weather. Lots of walking tracks which the locals were using. And birds galore to greet me as I entered the park.
Made my way to WP1 and got the necessary numbers to lead me to WP2. Did the bridge count, but upon entering the coords, I was putting myself in someone's backyard a fair way away. A quick check of the description, I did my count again and now had the right number!
Over to GZ, I checked a few potential places all the time been courted by a feathered cache guardian. Then I spotted something that matched the hint and it was CIH. Well after I remembered I had my geotweezers. Oh how I dislike these logs! But duty calls and eventually I had it unraveled, signed and rolled up to replace. Just as I was about to replace it in its camo, a muggle decided to check out a sick looking duck in the water! Fortunately she moved on quickly and I stealthily returned it and said farewell to my new feathered friend.
A lovely park in suburbia, with plenty of space for the locals to use as recreation. And a neat little multi to show me around the park. TFTC.

Been meaning to come here for ages and finally found the cache today! Beautiful day, awesome company and cute ducks!TFTC
Streak day 43 of trying to complete my calendar - Today I'm off to see my grandma on my mum's side. It will likely be the last time I see her before my overseas adventure. I decided to take her geocaching so that she could get a feeling for one of my favourite hobbies. I thought a multi might be nicer than a quick park and grab. As a bonus it was a nice day for a walk in the sun and this cache ticked off another date hidden that I needed. I have passed this park many times but never stop to have a look at it. So after collecting my grandma we parked in one corner before heading into the park. We admired the ducks on our way to the first information point. Once there I was a little confused as there seemed to be two possible answers, however only one gave a second waypoint within the park. We walked back to the water feature as directed then started counting bridges. We made it to the bottom where we admired all the massive fish before sitting down to calculate the GZ. A short while later we were hunting for the final cache. I spotted something a little suspicious then realised it fitted the hint perfectly. Going in for a closer look I was pleased to find a rather clever cache. My first of this type. We signed the log then checked to make sure the coast was clear before carefully putting the cache back where it belonged. Feeling satisfied we headed towards my car so that we could grab some thai for lunch. Yumm. TFTC. This one earned a favourite point from me.
Found it. Very excited but of course I didnt have a pen with me to sign the log. TFTC
I've been past plenty of times but never had time to stop, and we even have a customer over the road but I haven't had to do a service call there for years. Had a fun time walking around the park, once at GZ it took a little while to spot but shouldn't have. Another don't drop the cache moment but all signed succesfully. Thanks Team McKay and Steptoe.
Fun cache taking us all over a park i have driven by a lot but never been too. And fingernails will get the log out... nice one! Tftc

**With a free day, I thought I would hit up this multi. Loved the Ducks at WP2, and had fun periscoping them. I was met by Ziggiau and walked to GZ, she actually gave me a bum steer, as a previous finder, the cache has since been changed. However after referring to the hint, I had the CIH. Ziggiau had her trusty tweezers for me to get the log.**

No shortage of ducks today in this great park.
Located the very clever container but was unable to extract the log from the lid - next finder might want to bring along some tweezers - appeared to be fine, just very tight. If the CO wishes, I can email a photo as proof of find.
A very pleasant multi on this beautiful day.

Had attempted this some years ago on last visit to Sydney but final stage had been muggled. Better luck today, in company of cache owner who stood watching.
Out and about early on Christmas morning and thought what a better way to start Christmas!! Completed the puzzle easily enough and headed to GZ..... Searched and searched and stuck hands in places that we probably shouldn't have! Widened the search, ducked and dropped, still nothing. We were about to give up when we thought we would have one last look from the other side and bingo it was spotted!! Had to be on the right angle. Very clever hide thanks for a great cache on a great morning!!
I returned to scene of my failure previously when the cache was offline. It took a hint to get me look in the right spot for a find I just managed to keep dry on a very wet day!?!

14/10/15. 11:35 AM. Cache #3106. Streak day #479.
1st of 2 today - Wiley Park & Campsie.
A past finder had recently confirmed to me that I had been looking in more or less the right place last month, so I was keen to make amends for my DNF and turn this into a find. After parking and walking over, I saw muggles picnicking right near where I thought GZ was, but luckily on double checking, I saw that my target was a similar but different item, about 50m away from the muggles, so I'd be able to search after all.
I got down into a higher terrain area for the sake of getting a better angle on some other spots; at first this didn't work, but just as I was about to get out of my hiding spot, I found the cache. However, I then had trouble getting it out. Walked back to the car for a tool and tried that, but in the end I realised that just unscrewing the lid was all I needed to do. I took the log back to the car to sign and photograph and then returned to replace the cache as found.
I'd say the coords that I found the cache at were .004 decimals south of what I had calculated. Back to the car and then off to find a new multi in Campsie, "Straight Lines". Need to get some duck poo off my hands, too. TFTC.

TFTC,
At long last I can claim a found for this cache. What a saga made worse by my blinkered vision.
It's possible it was there every time I have looked and that I just wasn't up to the task. Very clever and a favorite even though I have seen this type of cache before.
Visited a group of trackables.

Found today, have visited here before with no luck, today it was a better day. I needed to cross another day off my calendar so went out early to miss the mugglers, only a couple of walkers. Great hide, thanks to Team McKay.
Awesome afternoon exploring the park. New to the area and hadn't been here before! Very high muggle activity due to school holidays meant that it was slow going and much stealth and opportunity grabbing was needed! All that to then discover we forgot pen to sign. Good find with AndThenThereWas3 . tftc
20/09/15. 8:49 AM.
3 finds and 2 DNFs this morning - Wiley Park, Kogarah, Blakehurst & Connells Point.
Glad to see this one is back and active again - if I can find this one, Canterbury council would be another one that I would have cleared all out. Off to the first WP where I saw the multiple plaques, only one of which had dates that give letters for WP2 coords that seemed likely.
Then a bit of a misunderstanding about the counting of bridges, although even without these, the final calculation meant that there were only 4 possible values for "i" and only 2 of these lead to a GZ that is in the park. I tried the most likely and only then did I see it matched the most ideal bridge count.
But try as i might at this final location, I saw nothing and didn't quite get the hint. I finally gave up and headed off to "Look Look Look!!!".

Well I had done all the hard work for this one on an earlier visit but the cache had gone missing. Today sans GPSr I was back and searched way harder than I needed to . Saw something, dimissed it, walked to another spot... then read the hint and back to the something I saw- the cache! Retrieved the log and glad to have now got this one off the list. TFTC! [:X]
Cache is back in play. Apologies for the delay - sometimes life gets in the way of caching....
A new container now deployed. Hopefully this lasts a little longer. Hope to improve the hide in the near future.
Yet another DNF visit to this cache.
My downloads don't tell me when a cache is disabled.
Returning from NSW Geocaching AGM and asked Nana nel if she was interested. She agreed and we again started at the start. Walked the whole thing and got to the same GZ I had been to years ago.
Same result and it was time to read the logs. Disapointing.
I wil put this on my watch list and hope it is all good when next I try.

Cache Update.... Cache went missing. Owner (me/us) have been out of the state on school holidays and then busy back at work however a new cache container (that is hopefully unmuggleable) is in construction. Hope to place and bring the cache back into play within the next two weeks. Apologies all for the delay....

After too long looking, I checked online and saw it was disabled after my Pocket Query was downloaded!?!
I shall return.

Saw recent DNF. Midnight cache check identified that cache is not in place (not sure whether muggled or just not correctly re-placed). Will investigate further in daylight on the weekend. Watch this space.
Managed to get the right plaque and enjoyed a nice walk. Calculated GZ, had a look without success and then off to alternate finish. Now I'm home I know my first GZ was correct- I just needed to look harder! I'll be back!
Out on a Friday night jaunt with snoopy and contactpete, this was the third find for the night. It helps if you have the correct plaque to start with, we walked up to a group of teenagers hanging around WP1, we ignored them and they ignored us. Grabbed the numbers and walked away to do the calculations. This can't be right?? Looked back towards WP1 and could see there was a second plaque, so pete and I went back to check it out, turns out there are 3 plaques and 2 possibilities. Used the new set of numbers and decided the second plaque was the correct one. Headed off the WP2 and again made a calculation error as we did not interpret the instructions as intended. Again we did not think GZ was correct but it couldn't be anything else, so we resolved to the idea to check out our calculated GZ, it wasn't until we were walking back to the car via the path over the water feature that we realised we hadn't finished the task at WP2. Got a new number and this time GZ made much better sense. Now the dilemma - it was 11:45pm, if we found this cache quickly we would have to find another cache for our midnight find, so we decided not to risk finding it before midnight and went back to the car to move it closer to GZ. By now it was 12:05am and safe to make a quick find. Problem was it wasn't a quick find lol. During the search the heavens opened up and it poured, I dived back in the car, (glad we had moved it closer) and snoopy and pete stayed under the trees for cover and kept searching. I couldn't believe it was taking us so long to find this cache so I started trawling the cache page for more clues, ah found one and the rain had stopped. By the time I got back to the search party, they also had looked for clues and were searching in the correct spot. Pete spotted it from the other side and snoopy retrieved it as we were doing it in the dark and couldn't see the cache close up so he instructions on where to move her hand. Brave woman with all the cockroaches running around the area. Finally we had CIH. SL #1794 on streak day #961 TFTC
This time I located one, in the pouring rain with Snoopy and Ris768.
Thank you for the cache

Went to WP1 and did the maths. Found WP2 and did the required counting. Entered co-ordinates into GPS and found GZ. Found cache on ground! Signed a very wet log and placed cache where I thought it belongs. A very enjoyable quick multi. Tftc.
At last!! Atleast 3 attempts in 3 years. Our Sydney visits timed badly with the cache missing or disabled. Tried for it last night but too many muggles. A few about this morning as well but gaps occurred to allow for a duck, grab, sign and reduck. Sweet to finally tick this off. Thanks for maintaining Team McKay.
#1129 (1 of 9 today)
Decided to travel south today for caches in an area I haven't mined much. By the end of the day I had 9 founds, including a First to Find, and a few DNFs to keep me honest.
* * * END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION * * *
On the way to the "not quite deep south", decided to try to avenge my previous DNF here.
Parked near my previously calculated GZ, to be greeted by a couple sitting on folding chairs looking towards GZ. Luckily they packed up as I got out of the Hademobile, and there was no one else anywhere near my search area.
So, how long did I take this time? About 2 minutes into the search I spotted it in a logical spot I could have sworn I checked last time.
Well, at least my original calculations were corredt!
Completed signing duties and continued south...

#2713- I have been past this park many times, but always in a hurry, I never had a reason to stop, until today. An interesting little park- I had no idea it had a kids theatre or a lovely duck pond.
At WP 1 there are actually three plaques, two of which have dates, so we tried both lots, but it turned out not to be the one we had expected. With a set of co- ords sorted, we headed for WP2- toyed with a few ideas before determine our GZ and wandered off to our likely spot. bikerbuddy found it pretty quickly on the likely feature a few metres from our calculation. Thanks for bringing us here.

I thought it would be good to stop for a multi on our way to Cronulla. The WaywardWoman said she had previously wanted to stop at this park, so this cache seemed perfect. At WP1 it was a case of which plaque. A bit of experimenting soon gave us the right one and then we were off to WP2. I suspected that we hadn't walked the correct way to WP2, so I sent NickoHeap back to check bridges. I redid my calculation, and now I seemed to have a better set of coordinates. But we ended up in the middle of a garden with no likely prospects, so I had to consider my interpretation of the CO's instructions. It turns out that the number of bridges I needed to cross didn't quite match the number of bridges I needed to count for my calculations. With that sorted out, we went to another location and found the cache easily. Thanks
Wiley Park was the destination for our family bike riding morning out, our first multicache and the first time we tried to cache without using the Intro app. There were a few hicoughs in the technical department but the logic behind the WPs was easy enough to follow. Great use of the whole park and it was perfect by bike (although walking is easy too as it's not a massive park). Found with aubeasty, dingoman007 and MrSmash
Took a while to sort out our tech, but a rewarding find nonetheless perfect by bike!
BEWARE! At this time of year there are magpies around, as I got sooped by one while searching. Good thing I was wearing my bike helmet at the time! TFTC
Hmmm.
I'd noticed that this hasn't had a log since May - after a steady stream of logs...
Not a good sign.
Went through the waypoints without too much trouble, and despite the large number of muggles here, thanks to school holidays, GZ was relatively quiet, allowing a somewhat thorough search.
But nothing turned up.
Checked the hint - that limits the options, and still nothing.
Perhaps it's gone - again.

Did first half of this ones last year but muggles at the GZ prevented us from searching in final location. Today it was much quieter and was able to find it.

This one has been sitting on my radar for a while but Ive never gotten round to it, so decided to take 4 yo geokid to feed the ducks, play at the park and hopefully knock this one off my to do list while we were there... geokid was so excited clutching his breadbag and singing we're going to feed the ducks... we jumped out of the car only to see a sign saying do not feed the birds ! Sad face from geokid and a mothers guilt led us to crouch behind the rock formation out of sight of the ranger and feed the geese a few slices of bread...naughty naughty.
Completed the stages easily but took me a while to find cache, once found and signed however i had trouble placing back in original position - have emailed CO for advice.
Thanks for bringing us to this great park today, not at all what i expected and i suspect this will be our "NEW" fav place to hang out in the weekends. Fav point from me and geo kid

After a quicker-than-expected drive to Centro Roselands (for volunteer xmas gift wrapping), I decided to stop and give this cache a try. It was lovely weather, and I quickly gathered the information I needed from WP1. At WP2 I saw lots of ducks, morhens, ibis and and even some ducklings! ^_^ After collecting the second set of info, I made my way to GZ where I waited patiently for a gap in the muggle traffic to grab this one (seen from the other side of the feature). Thanks for a pleasant multi ...I don't do these often, but these are the sort I like! (only a few sections, quite close together).
Found wp1 and wp2 a coupe of days ago, but ran out of time
Came back today and had cin before long.

Had some unfinished business on this multi. Quick find this time as last time I had to rush off. Is a nice park, great one for the kids. SL TFTC
3rd? 4th time lucky for me???? Came as the sun had mostly already set so as to avoid any school holiday crowd which meant I needed to use my phone for light. Almost dropped it to its death but saved it with my foot! I remember I came here and did all the waypoints way back in July or something and I really enjoyed discovering this park. The final find frustrated me a lot but this time it all came together for me TFTC! And have a favourite from me... This park deserves more visitors!
Was driving the long way to work for this multi which I made hard for myself.
Arrived at WP1 and there are two sets of dates and after punching both, common sense gives you the correct coords.
Left for WP2 and while walking re-read description where I back peddled to WP1 to go the low road. Counted bridges and unsure of how many but again just counted ones I walked past. Too much time spent already with being late for work. Did put in a look at GZ having had a fair bit of work performed on by park/ council workers recently. Always tomorrow.

Finally, third time lucky. It really is a case of cache blindness. I arrived expecting the park to be a muggle frenzy zone but alas, a wedding near Wpt 2 ensured all muggles were there ,either in attendance or as spectators. How good is that? I felt I had intimate knowledge of GZ ,having searched this spot so many times. At first I found nothing, then something caught the corner of my eye. What?....... the cache out there in plain sight, I certainly had tunnel vision previously. However, I found the cache to be be much more than 30cm from the listed coords in fact, my coords put me exactly opposite, no wonder tunnel vision did not work. Anyhow, I was pleased to have found this third time round and sat myself down in the glorious sunshine to sign the log. Another calendar day marked off.
After doing the growing work, and having a lovely walk. Resorted to previous logs for a clue, and cache was soon in hand. Thanks
What a beautiful sunny day to get out and do this multi in this lovey park. Once we had gathered all the information and worked out the maths it was logical where it had to be. It took several attempts ducking for cover to final locate. A nice time had by the jkcourtz team, thanks.
After wp2 I wasn't sure how many bridges I was supposed to count, as I had wpt2 downhill of a bridge. I would suggest fellow caches go for the maximum number of bridges, I tried two sets of coords for GZ, and the maximum number got me there in the end. Thanks TM, I don't often hunt multis.
I used to come down here to watch the racing at the velodrome in the late 70s, early 80s.

there was a muggle family picnic today, thankfully not near GZ. the hiding spot was very relaxing i only wished i had a book to read. thanks very much for showing me this place.
Cache check completed last night (9:10pm), 23/07/2013. Cache is confirmed as being in place and therefore in play. Good luck all...
A cache check was done on Saturday lunch time and the cache was still in play. We will attempt to check again in the next 24 hours and report accordingly.
Really nice day for a stroll and I enjoyed discovering what this park actually holds! Unfortunately though... No cache found!
