On our travels we stopped to do this cache, so up up up we went perhaps midway is not the best time to attempt it but we made it all the same and was rewarded with that view, wow, and of course a nice big cache, thanks for taking the time to place it
We are always on a hunt for some treasure exchanges, so the little ones have fun too. Thanks
A quick find after a tough climb. So glad it was here as a reward. Fabulous views. Thank you .
OCW PelDroedGwin We stayed overnight at the roadhouse and had admired the escarpment from there, this morning we got up early to admire it from other angles.Really enjoyed the walk and the views. Tftc
I Sure Did!

On the way to timber Creek from Katherine today and couldn't resist a T5! So I finally convinced my wife to come with me up the escarpment. At GZ I immediately found the cache. Thanks for bringing us to beautiful views! Fav point awarded!
We started early to avoid the heat. Some great views and rock structures. Saw a rock wallaby on our way back down.
Made a nice quick find. Cache is in good condition.

We are travelling from SA doing a half lap of Oz around NT and WA.
We stayed at Victoria River Roadhouse as their was wet weather and our destination of the Gibb River Road was closed.
This morning we took our rain jackets and climbed the Escarpment walk.
What a fantastic view, even on a wet, drizzly day it was worth it.
Cache was found in good dry condition, signed and replaced.

Oh goodie. A 5 star terrain traditional and an Earthcache. Love a challenge. I tried to get to this one before sunset. Fail. There was still some light so off I went.
I made it to the top fairly quickly but knew it was getting dark when I needed my phone torch to find and sign the physical cache log.
Some quick photos and I was off.
Didn't get too far before I realised that I wasn't on the return track. Too many people had walked around up the top so there was no defined path.
It was now very dark and I was still at the top. I enjoyed the panic for a bit as I took many wrong routes that ended at cliff edges.
I stopped and thought "what would a cacher do". I loaded my app and there was my inward track. I had only turned it on near the top but that would be enough to get me started.
I was about 50m from the walk track. A quick find and I was on the descent. Lots of cool, interesting noises in the mountains after dark. Some very close. I quickly ran out of geo track but could now carefully follow the path out. Phone torch doesn't have much range so it took a lot longer than going up.
Another great caching adventure.

Well, that was a long trek up, but what a wonderful view! We think the best view was about 3/4 of the way up, but it was worth getting to the top to get a smiley on this one. The hint is good, and once the GPS settled the coords were spot on. A great cache tin with lots of trinkets inside. Cache and log all in good condition. Thanks for bringing us to this wonderful spot! TFTC
Have to record a DNF. With less than 300mtrs to go my legs turned to jelly and I could hear a cardiac person saying this is not a good idea. Congratulations to those that make it to GZ. There would be great views over this special part of our country. Thanks for bringing us here. Maybe a helicopter for me next time...
Traveling with my family between Darwin and Broome in July.
A thoroughly enjoyable drive today through this stunning national park area Judbarra. Deep river crossings, wide valleys, cut off mountain tops with deep red cliffs, fallen down boulders. Just amazing. Could spend weeks looking around here! After a lunch stop at the nearby road house we stopped here while I made a dash up the hill to find the cache. The rating had me in on first read and I wanted to see if it was possible. About half an hour up on well formed paths. Looking good. At the gz I assumed I needed to make the climb onto one of the nearby outcrops, but no. Just nearby in a crevice.
Views up here are stunning. A step up from the roads below. So awesome looking along the valleys and the nearby cliff tops. Spent a while photoing before finding the cache.
Cache was in tiptop condition. Dry inside with loads of swaps. I left a second log book just in case as per C/O request. Left a few personalized tags and a travel bug. Not sure when the next finder will come, but all cachers driving by will miss out big time.
It took me another 20 minutes to walk back so all in all a 1 hour return trip. Big smiles!
This was my favorite cache for the 3 week trip across the top end. Well above the other 20 finds! A favorite point and a thanks keeping it going under challenging circumstances. If Garry choose this spot, I'd say well done!

Today we would take our time to walk up this cliff to enjoy the views and this cache. It took us less than 30 minutes to reach the end of the path and the view is very nice from here.
The cache was easy to find, so that’s a nice bonus. Maybe a 3 star difficulty and a 5 star terrain rating is both a bit too high, but I’m not complaining. Favourite point for the views!

On my way back home after spending 5 weeks exploring this part of our wonderful country.
What made me decide to tackle this walk in 37 degree heat I’m not sure, but the view from the top was special.
Views of the town on one side and also views of the river winding its way through on the other.
A fav goes out to you for bringing me up here.
All good at GZ cache and log in great condition.
Thanks bubblensqueak TFTC.

My husband and I started caching in 2006. Placing quiet a few caches over the years. Unfortunately Garry's life was cut short in an accident Dec 2016. As we moved around a little with his work our caches are well spread out and I currently don't have the time to get to all of them to replace logbooks. I am asking if you are planning on visiting any of our caches if you wouldn't mind taking along a spare notebook and replace if necessary. Already I have had to archive a few but would love to keep the remaining ones going for years to come. I would be most grateful to anyone for helping out.
Well we came and we got it!
We arrived at the camp ground just in time for lunch, and as we had promised ourselves to do the escarpment walk after driving past it twice before, we reckoned this was the day. Then we had second thoughts. As Victorians we are still not adjusted to the heat in the NT. So we decided that we would get up early the next day and start our climb before the sun starts heating up.
We arrived just after sunrise to see the sky still coloured with pinks and orange and set off. What a walk. The scenery is stunning, every direction you look in. We took our time, and really loved seeing the colours emerge as the sun rose in the sky. Views across to the river and the road as it traveled across to WA, beautifully coloured escarpments and all softened by the light morning mist.
Certainly a cache to remember.
The cache itself is in great condition, just a bit tight to get the lid off as it obvioudly has been opened for many months. All clean and dry inside, so we signed, resealed and rehid it before building one more cairn nearby.

We set out from our camp at Victoria River Roadhouse early today as we continue our meandering across northern Australia from one side to the other after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter. I am so glad we set off before the sun was over the eastern escarpment as I soon was quite hot climbing up through the National Park. It was a great walk with fantastic views at the top.
The cache was a quick find and I soon stamped the log and replaced. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to find thus enjoying this wonderful scenery. TNLN. Deserves a fave.

This is the easiest T5 ever I guess. Imho, not harder then T3. Up in 15 minutes and down in 10 (in all honesty: it was running tempo).
And 30 minutes close to the top to enjoy sunset.
MAGNIFICENT!!! 10 favo's for this, if possible!!

Come and get me. Doesn't matter that you did this Walken June 2014! It's a different season and experience! You will enjoy it. And yes, we did! Tftc
Stopped for a walk on our way West. What a fabulous view, well worth the effort. TFTC
We stopped for the night at the roadhouse & all evening this cache was nagging at us calling "come and get me". Well, we did want to boost our miserably meagre T5 find count (sitting at a measly two!) and most T5's are way beyond the capabilities of two retirees, though we can proudly claim to have peak bagged & multi-day walked a bit in our past. So this morning, whilst it was still cool enough (starting with jumpers on!) we attacked with gusto, and what a wonderful walk it was. Bits of it reminded us of Hanging Rock, then of Silent Street in the Grampians, then of King's Canyon. Plus the views, up, down & on top. This walk has it all - & a cache as a bonus. Thanks very much for giving us the impetus bubblensqueak, and for that elusive T5. Fav point natch.
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends efore flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
By the time we set off on the Escarpment Walk to seek out this cache we should have been pulling in at a campsite closer to Timber Creek, but then how could we pass up on the opportunity to find a 3/5 cache, never mind one that took us on such a great hike at sunset! We sat and enjoyed the view while signing the log book and at the same time checked out the questions for the nearby Earthcache. Thanks so much for the cache and please have a favourite point!

Easiest T5 cache I've ever had the pleasure of finding. It was a race against time to reach it before the full heat of the sun got me. Thanks for the amazing views!

Spectacular walk along the escarpment. Stunning views down to the valley below. Well worth the effort of going up there, and the cache was an added bonus. Well, we have earned another virtual on our roadtrip for finding a cache with a 5T rating. Good timing and a really great walk as well. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
A lovely walk up the escarpment to some brilliant views at the top. We tackled this mid morning on our holidays and it was a great time of the day to take the walk. dropped TB. TFTC
3pm and 34℃, off I go! Excellent cache, well worth the effort! Great views, interesting geology, surprised so infrequent the visits. Up and back in 45 mins, thanks.
This cache spurred our ambition and we broke camp at the Victoria Crossing before sunrise.
We started so early that the T5-heat had had no time to build up yet.
Thanks for the Cache, without it we'd have surly missed the escarpment hike. T&M

Well that sounded like a dare to me
And so at the early hour of 7:30am with the coolness of the morning surrounding me I set off from the carpark
Well it was cool at the bottom of the hill, but I soon got a dramatic demonstration of a well known meteorological fact.
That cold air gathers in the lowest parts of the terrain overnight
No sooner had I started climbing than the air temperature rocketed up a goodly 5 to 8 degrees [:o]
The sun baked rocks were radiating heat that they had absorbed yesterday, to add to the warmth !!
The stroll was an easy one
And very scenic.
In fact, it kept getting more scenic the further I strolled
Finally I could stroll no more and set off to find me a cache.
Well hidden, but easy to find [^]
So I got you !!

We have not had an internet service since leaving Kununurra so these are being logged a little late.

Found as part of our 5 week trip from Adelaide to Lawn Hill and then onto the Territory.
Apologies for the late logs but Vodafone doesn't cover much of that part of the world.
We found 109 and had 10 dnfs, some more than once.
I love a 5 terrain cache that I can safely walk to.
We enjoyed the walk up the hill, even if we did it in the middle of the day. Top views. Love this part of the world.

After passing it on the way west I came and got on the way back. Glad it wasn't any later as the day was quite hot and I was glad of the litre of water that I took. Worth it though for the views alone.
#1715 A bit later then planned, but we arrived here and walked all the way up - and quickly down again to find some shade. The 5* probably rates the weather conditions…hot/hot/hot/hot/hot. Good for our T/D matrix! T4T$
Now this is what geocaching is all about! What a fantastic place for a cache, an inspiration for those less likely to take the hike to actually do it! We really enjoyed the easy walk/climb up the well marked track - including taking photos it took us 25 minutes to reach the cache and we weren't rushing, took us longer getting down as we stopped to admire the view some more and chatted to several of the walkers.
The view from the top is spectacular and well worth the effort, the cache is 10 / 10 - a swag of goodies which you would think were hidden only yesterday.
Outstanding bubblensqueak - definately a favorite point from us!

Sorry for the delay in logging this - found while on a trip to NT from SA to visit Racing Stripes (and then heading over to WA). We got up nice and early so that we could get this one before the heat really kicked in for the day. We arrived at around 7am at the start of the trail and steadily made our way toward GZ. No problems in reaching this one, nor with finding it. On discussion, we think this cache should be 3 star terrain, or maybe 3.5 stars... but we have Zytheran in South Australia and his caches make everyones seem easy by comparison! TFTC
Someone forgot to take water on this hunt and at 2pm it was bloody HOT..! Needless to say it was a quick up get the cache, take a couple of photos and back down for a drink and a cool off.!

Found at 10.40am GAFF1. We had to explore just one of these escarpments as we were driving past to really feel like we were getting the feel of this country.
A walk up to the top took just 30 minutes and we took a few photos of the view down below including he Victoria Crossing section. We loved the size of the container and were so much relieved instead of having to look for a pimple in a mole hill when we are way out here.
Thanks bubblensqueak.

What a climb but the vista was well worth the hike. Took the bat key ring and left the car.
