I needed a puzzle for today, so last night I perused the map to see what I could find. I had looked at this one many moons ago, I recognised the picture. I read it again and it seemed definitely doable (said Sean Connery). It definitely appeared to be an Excel related solve, with some cunning formula to show the way. I didnt feel like writing code, so it was a process of putting zeros and ones into a grid of 10,000 cells. Together with the row and column headers, colour coded of course, the most amazing grid of numbers and pattern appeared. A masterpiece if I dont say so myself. Running some visual evaluation, it appears that there might have been a mathematical formula that could have solved this, due to the nice little arrangement of ones that remained on line 100.
On the way back home from the AL in lockleys, I stopped by GZ. There is a monster of a goliath of a bad-ass building being built on the corner, and as such the gas, water and electricity is right in the middle of being upgraded to some heavy duty version of the item that was here before. A pic was sent to the CO and it was confirmed the location was right, and that the cache has been committed to the utility gods. A sad end to a great puzzle solve.
Thanks for the challenge and the lessons CoC. Looks like my Saturday night is going to be filled with the solve of another, for spaces on the day grid still beckons for this young and keen cacher.

I used to be quite numerically-minded, but this took a little thinking-through to discover what I needed.
And then we made our way to Adelaide forgiving me a chance of finding this afternoon.
iPhone suggested the GZ was a little way off, but the revised hint soon put me to rights and in no time I was signing the log.

We arrived at the fun and thematically appropriate GZ after a pleasant brunch around the corner. Cool math puzzle! SL TFTC and Happy Easter!
This is one of the puzzles we managed to solve a while ago but unfortunately GZ is in a place we do not often visit. This changed today as duty brought us nearby and we had some spare minutes to hunt for this cache. And we needed those minutes, and more, and also the helpful hints in the logs because this was not an easy find for us at all The title of the cache, on the other hand, is right on the money TNLNSL TFTC
Found this one on a walk while a tow bar was being fitted to the geomobile.

Took me longer than it should have to locate at GZ. I hadn’t seen a container quite like that one before and it was luck that I approached from various angles and spotted it! TFTC
Finally was able to turn this blue face into a yellow tonight, TFTC! loved the puzzle
Dropped by for another look and found it exactly where it should be. I should have looked better and paid more attention to the updates and I would have found it first time.
TFTC *Cache_or_Check* and for keeping this one going. This filled a gap in my hidden date grid.

I’d put this aside while maintenance was performed and went back to it today, but the maintenance meant a different location than the cache sized hole I found previously and fluffymaxi and I weren’t able to find it today either. We will return another time.
Cache #2232. Fourth find today. First mystery cache found today.
This Saturday, I had some appointments to attend. One of them was in North Plympton, and I found this cache was it was not far away.
The puzzle has been solved by J long time ago. Then the final coordinates were saved in our to-do list for ages, until today.
Parked near final location, and started searching. Cannot find the cache. Then read the previous log. OK, here's the cache. Nice cache container! I never saw this kind of cache container before. Signed the log sheet, before put it back.
Thanks for the mystery cache, *Cache_or_Check*.

Would of been great to find the original hide due to all the favourite points, cache was easily found.

Heading out to pick up a few caches this afternoon, including avenging a few previous dnf’s. All caches were found in good condition, why can’t the all be found so easily?

I have had this one solved for a while now so I was happy to be in the area after work and make a quick find. TFTC
It took a bit longer than anticipated, but there is now a replacement cache. Look for a bison tube style hide low on the metal post.
Had an email come through saying it was good to go again, so I snuck out of work and made a quick find. Thanks for getting it going again.
I checked out this cache due to the recent DNFs and myself as last finder.
From my memory, it was a small bison tube, and it had been placed in a little hole next to the water pipe. I also looked around the various ditches anyway just in case, and nope couldn't find anything, so I suspect it is indeed missing unfortunately.

I enjoyed the puzzle headed out to the solved coordinates. There were a few structures here which made me believe I was in the right place, but no cache was found.
Have visited a few times now and had a really good search where others have said it was. It's either deeper than I dug, which I shouldn't have to do, or it's gone.
Solved this puzzle nine months ago, and really enjoyed this puzzle actually. Once you get the hang of the methodology, the solution presents itself. Spent about half hour solving this one.
Was late to the event tonight, so riding back to home, I thought I would detour past this location. Knew I was at the right place where it was appropriately themed. Was looking around the place for a bit, and ended up finding the cache in a place that was more hidden than just camouflaged and themed. Sounds like the cache has gone through an evolution over the years, but enjoyed the puzzle and theme, so FP from me, cheers.

Nice easy park and grab once we solved the puzzle! A great cache location and no muggles in sight!
I had solved this some time back, but never viewed where the final was located (happy just to solve them). I took a little while to twig to the trick of the puzzle, but after that it didn't take too long to solve. The final coordinates had me looking in the resprouted tree stump for a while, until I looked at the cache name again.
I had looked at this puzzle 'on and off' for a number of years as it was close to my route to and from work, but I could never work out how to do it except with lots and lots of paper and time! (I'm not too good with spreadsheets. )
Then I happened to be talking to a previous finder after finding another couple of puzzles on the weekend and I was given a small piece of info which really helped.
So back home and sat down at the computer and not too long afterwards I found what I needed and very soon I had some coordinates which made sense. [^]
Tonight after work I made a small detour and my spot on coordinates took me to a place where one of the hints says the cache is not...but there it was.
Thanks for a great puzzle and cache CoC it never ceases to amaze me what I can learn from the internet.

I work nearby and as we were having computer issues this morning I looked for a nearby cache to solve and find and this one looked interesting. Worked out how to solve this one and got an answer surprisingly quickly. Checked where my answer was sending me and knew exactly where that was and was confident I had the right coordinates. Next a short walk a quick search and yey another find.
Thanks for the cache. I enjoyed solving the puzzle

Found on a fun afternoon and evening caching (with dinner and a show in between) with Wal & Ol. Solved by Wal and his very clever PAF. Last one for the night - nobody around to bother us after midnight, TFTC!
Well that was fun! Mostly for my secret weapon... we'll just call him Igor! "We" solved it a few weeks ago, found on the way home from dinner and show with Pony1966. I love learning stuff like that - fave point. TFTC
on off on off repeat many times while drinking coffee or something stronger. Found where the hint said it wasn't going to be under about 7 cm of dirt. Surprisingly the log was dry. I was going to drop a game piece tb in the cache since it is listed as small but on finding the cache it was a bison tube, so off to the next cache to drop tb.

On, off, on, off, on, off, on, off, on, on... hold on. Doh!
It's been a while since I tackled one of the Roach's puzzles.
This one took a little while but not too bad, though it really did show up my math knowledge.
Still a fun exercise and a great way of visualising this type of puzzle.
I'm a little sad I didn't get to find the original hide but at least I made the find quickly at GZ exactly where the hint said it wouldn't be?!?

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
When I opened this one up originally I thought want a great puzzle. put it away while I thought of ways to process the answer. Read logs and got some ideas. Quickly opened it up again and started processing by one method but soon recognized something which led to a faster method and after one false start with some miscalculation had coordinates that looked plausible. Plotted and had a look on street view and instantly knew I was in the correct spot.
Next day drove to GZ and Grrrr, couldn't find anything. Read logs, and last entry was a DNF. Grrr. At subsequent events spoke with last finders who confirmed I was in the right area and looking in the right places. So recently, I was talking with COC who indicated that the cache was now back in place, I knew I just had to get there and make this find. So on the way to work this morning made the HUGE detour, parked nearby and quickly located the cache, extracted the log, signed it and replaced.
Favourite for this one. Loved the puzzle. As someone who loves numbers this one particularly fascinated me.

Argh!! A second MIA cache for the day.
Checked every where a possible cache could be found.
Contact the CO to check if the cache was there.
Answer that the cache was MIA.
We kindly offered to replace the cache.
Found a suitable container and log.
Signed the log replaced the cache to it's hiding place.

Owl and Rat were on a secret mission to gain a special souvenir. Things did not go according to plan. It was a day of missing caches, inquisitive muggles, wherigos that wouldn't go, coordinates that wouldn't coordinate and terrain ratings that didn't take into account the height challenged. When the target cache was proved to be missing, this was Rat's backup plan. Also missing. Fortunately the kind CO allowed them to replace it. (There may have been tears and wailings and gnashing of teeth to persuade him!) Of course, now Owl has to calculate the cost of utilities. Does this take into account wind turbines, the projected effects of el Nina and rotten eggs?
Such a disappointing DNF and what a saga I made it. I accidently corrected the coordinate with the wrong thirty something for the east whole minutes so searched the wrong location for 20 minutes! Then I redid the puzzle and discovered my error. Then I cycled about 2km to the actual GZ. It was 38 degrees and I was so relieved to reach the real GZ. I noticed the hole next to the pump but read that the cache had been moved. The only place that looked possible for a small was the silver box next to the green electrical thing but after digging all the sand out of it, there still didn't seem to be a cache. I searched everywhere that I could imagine even a micro could be hidden but eventually the heat got the better of me and I had to call it quits. I hate travelling so far to DNF a mystery cache so I'll definitely be watching the listing to see if someone drops some hints that might help me locate this cache on my next visit to Adelaide. Great puzzle by the way.
Another very elegant puzzle from * Cache_or_Check*.
I am not sure whether is was finding the requisite 100 people or installing all the lightglobes which really took the most time for this one.
Regardless of that the light came and went as people trooped in and out and it eventually shone squarely on the numbers that I needed.
At GZ today surprisingly there was a serious muggle issue but eventually there was a gap enabling me to find the cache which was actually completely buried albeit in the place that I thought it was most likely to be.

Dropped geowife at airport, geokids wanted to go on a hunt. Took them to a nearby playground and found this one.
Used a spreadsheet to pick the pattern with the puzzle. Enjoyed this one.
The size of the spiderweb at GZ meant only one thing. Used a stick as cache retrieval device. Spider living happily, no harm to him or me.

Had to do an airport run this afternoon so decided to pick up a couple solved Unknown caches in the area.
I solved this puzzle with a quick and dirty Python program. Very elegant puzzle so for that reason I would like to add a fav point.
The search would have been shorter if not for all of the spider webs - but we eventually got it.
Found with Poptart394 and RyeRye467.
Thanks for the cache.

This one has been on the solved puzzle list for a month or so, so it was time to get ticked off. Found the obvious three services spot and the container could be seen. Retrieving it however was a more arduous task. A trip back to the geo-mobile to retrieve a magnetic stick proved fruitless. A wooden stick suitably flattened in to a giant pair of tweezers did the job. TFTC.
Woohoo another solved puzzle off the list. Found on a mini night caching run with AnyMules. Retrieving the cache took a bit of ingenuity on AnyMules behalf. I supplied the electric light while he used other natural equipment to delve into the cache's hidey spot. I wasn't about to go near it due to lots of webs. TFTC

Collecting the finds on previous solved. Glad I have friends!
This one had me scratching around in the shadows a bit,
and then ducking oiff while security combed the streets and buildings nearby!
But persistence paid off as I found a little black bison with familiar names
in a log, under on of the small structures lying on the ground.
Signed and popped in nearby hole under a rock. So it's not as exposed.

We had managed to solve this puzzle some time agao in preparation for our visit in May/June 2013. The mathematics underpinning the puzzle were familiar to us and gave an interesting sequence. However we could not find the cache at the time, learning later that it was missing. Today we returned and we were able to make a quick find in a location we had searched thoroughly last year. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for an interesting puzzle *Cache_or_Check* and thanks for the cache.
3rd times the charm, and so much easier to find when there is a cache to be found. Funny how that works out.
The current container size is a micro, so look closer then I did, before PaF. I'm sure I checked there before. lol.
Fav for the journeys to get it.

As promised, this cache has been replaced with owner permission. I had visited this cache before while out on a night time run, but hadn't solved the puzzle at that point so didn't claim a find. Finally after many months, I wrote a small program that solved this one in no time, and tonight while out with locus and 3LG the cache container was replaced and the log signed.

TFTC *Cache_or_Check*!
I found and signed this one back in January when on a caching run with locus, a racoon and a squirrel. However I didn't claim a find then as I had not solved the puzzle. Last week finally tackled it with a simple program to perform all the manipulations and it produced coordinates that I knew were right. Arrived tonight to make a legit find and sign only to discover the cache cover destroyed and the container nowhere to be found.
Thanks *Cache or Check* for a fantastic cache and puzzle!
I did this one backwards. Last night, Locus and Walrus were nice enough to take us to GZ, so we made a quick find at a bit after 3am. This morning I got up and nutted out the puzzle and got a solution that matched.
A definite favourite, thanks!!

Solved this one a while ago, but didn't have an excuse to be this side of town. Was sent on an errand to a rather large home hardware spot reasonably nearby (the "Stinky Shop" as Missmoo calls it!), and decided to pop past this one. Two problems. Forgot GPS-r and didn't have a working writing implement. Managed to pick around the end of an old broken pencil enough to reveal the lead, but still had to find the cache. Did it BFE style - indeed a cheeky little hide. Log a little damp, but good considering the winter we've had. Cheers for the puzzle and cache *CoC*!!

The rest was easy. I dont even know how the app worked! lol

Puzzle cracked with a spreadsheet, although there are probably more elegant ways of solving this (Euler would have no trouble I’m sure). Came down to GZ on the last weekend, expecting a simple task but saw an empty place and conceded that it has been damaged/lost and reported such to the CO. He responds with the info that I had in fact found the *old* hide, and that a new one had been made close to the old one. Neat-oh, I thought – that should be easy now.
Well, in the dead of night, easy was the last term I had assigned for this one. Mal is looking and looking and looking – further and further away for the old spot. Darn it all, it’s not here. But eventually random paths move through every point in the plane, and finally I intersected with the hide. Whale oil beef hooked! That is soooo hidden. Probably in a drier season, this would be no problem, but at the moment it’s completely obscured.
Glad to get this one nailed. Thanks for the cache, *Cache_or_Check*

New camo is in place and the old cache container has been relocated to less than a meter from its old location. Make sure you access the cache via the lid!
Well, this is proving to be a bit trickier than expected as I can't even remove the broken camo properly and replace it. Fear not, as plan B has already been hatched.
In the mean time bring some blue tack when retrieving the cache and if all else fails I'll be excepting a cache photograph as well.
To be continued....

The main 'camo' has indeed disappeared (been demolished), but cache container is still in position. After a visit to the hardware shop, I will re-instate the cache to its former glory.
I walked past GZ last week. The "Grill" is gone. (mower I think) May be worth a check.
Walked over here while my Husband sat waiting for my sons Autism SA session to finish over on Marion Rd. Figured while we were waiting I could clean out this immediate area.
The pictures have bamboozled me on and off for some time til I had a chat to a frog and got the clue I needed, Splash buzz and off I go.
Very apt gz location!
The "lid" is gone!
The cache is see-able but NOT at all retrievable so I cleared off a portion of grass cuttings and planted my pawprint sticker on the lid within the hole. I have a pic if you would like some proof but I won't be posting it here.

Had fun solving this one while travelling to Melbourne by train, in the area today for a quick find but difficult extraction, great puzzle TFTC
Took a while to make a spreadsheet then understand what I was looking at. Worked it out after sleeping on it. Good hide!
Gotcha!
A nice number puzzle! My favorite kind!
Had the opportunity to swing through the Western burbs today and pick up a few that have been sitting on my solved list for a while.
Thanks!

Got to GZ and saw the obvious thing out of place but couldnt open it. Made a phone call to confirm what I was looking at. Grabbed a tool and managed to gain access then used the other end to get the cache out (this was the easy bit). Both logs were mush so replaced them with a new log in a film canister inside the cache container - hopefully that will keep it dry. TFTC.

A fun mathematical puzzle of a type Mr Tardis hasn't done before. I wrote a quick Excel macro to do the hard work.
The GZ certainly lives up to the cache name, when you see it in street view you know you've solved the puzzle correctly.
Mr Tardis works for a utility, and had the cloak of invisibility on (AKA high vis vest) so no-one took any notice of him at GZ.
I needed a tool to access the cache, it was quite difficult to get in there. I also needed a tool to encourage the cache to come out as Mr Tardis's fingers were too fat.
The original logbook is pulp, and the newer log sheet is a little damp, but still useable.
Signed the log. Thanks for the puzzle *Cache_or_Check_or_Bankcard*

some people obviously have lots of spare time on thier hands which is great for us geochaches tftc
Clever cache found with mogni, brisal5 and AussieM&M!! AussieMark and I had a time extracting the cache from its hidey hole!!!
This was very clever and I liked the hide at the end. Didn't really need a hint for this. Took some work to retrieve but all that was required was a tool all caches carry and some patience. TFTC.
Out for a team assault on mystery caches with Mogni, CPwanderer and Aussie M&M. The cars got seperated on the way here. What part of no though road doesn't the GPS understand! Nice camo. Geo tools required for people with fat fingers like me. Thanks cache or check
Mark and CP retrieved this, then complained as the caching tools were all in my car. Oops!
Great hide

What better thing to do mid week but go out geocaching especially on a beautiful day like today. This was one of the caches we targetted and were able to find. This was a really clever one and we enjoyed doing the cache.
Thanks to *Cache_or_Check*.

Solved with the group and was quite pleased to see a nice cache at the end
Found on a day out with he masters of caching
Had a great day and a lot of fun

I had looked at the puzzle for this cache and thought 'I have no idea' however I later looked again and thought 'maybe I can!'.
An Excel document and 1 to 100 and then a few hours to sit and count 1, 2, 3, 4, to 100 about, oh....100 times
Finally I had some numbers and used Google maps to look at where I thought GZ was and figured I had this solved.
However when I sought confirmation it seemed that I was wrong: well, for one digit anyway.
When I looked at the new coords (wrong digit corrected) on Google maps there was a choice of gas, water or electricity
So after impatiently waiting ALL day until our return from down south, about 9.15pm saw me doing the locus cache thing: with success I might add
SL (the wet log and the drier piece of paper). TFTC *Cache_or_Check*

Enjoyed the puzzle - did a spreadsheet to solve. TFTC

WOOOHOOO! I got it, with some much need help from my math wizard mate, we had to solved finally after ripping myhair out!
great puzzle, great hide, great cache.
took me awhile to get the blasted thing out, resulted to the cord on gps, worked a treat
cheers C.O.C

I have been looking at this puzzle ever since I started caching. I even tried solving it with pen and paper but that did not work.
I looked at it again this afternoon and googled again. This time I found an answerer and I was able to extract the location.
The log is wet but I was able to get my name into it.
I left a micro calling card.

After 29 finds I decided to have a go at my first puzzle cache for #30.
The puzzle looked fairly straight forward, and with 10 minutes of coding in Java I had a simple algorithm to solve the problem. There was no way I was going to do this one manually .
Thankfully my solution was correct and took me to the right coordinates. I was able to find the cache easily, and luckily I read the logs below and brought along a multitool which made cache retrieval a lot easier.
The log books are still damp, but signable. Very clever hide.

Thank god for computers, they can solve puzzle caches when you really don't feel like maths...
Logbook was saturated and very difficult to write in - I left a bit of a mark...

Finally, my name is recorded in the log book for this cache. It was a case of third time lucky. On the first visit I tried to move the unmovable. For the second visit my thumbs proved to be too fat. Today I had the right tool for the job. GZ is a well choosen, and very appropriate location.
Solving the puzzle was also a bit of hit and miss with one simple mistake throwing all my calculations out and getting me close but not close enough.
A nightmare of a cache, you bet. Gotta run to pay a bill: water, gas or electricity?
Day 835 of nonstop caching.
Thanks for a lot of frustrations *Cache or Check*.

Not having read the previous logs until we came home we did not realise that we needed a special tool. Amazing what you can do with what rubbish you find laying around. We are fortunate as we live in a motorhome, we generate our own power (solar panels), we have a water filter so are able to gather water from natural places, Oh we do buy our gas. SL TFTC and the fun. Adelaide caching has been great see everyone in about twelve months.
What a great hide. A little tricky to get out. Geocaching has taught us to use all sorts of things as tools. Thanks Cache or Check
After a few 'ons' ond 'offs' it appeared there was a developing pattern. A bit like at home actually.... 'on' goes a light switch, featherwaite turns it 'off', 'on' goes the shower, featherwaite turns it 'off', 'on' goes the stove, featherwaite turns it 'off'. And so 'on' and 'on' it goes. Are you still left wondering who pays the utility bills at the featherwaite household??? Thanks for the cache *Cache or Check*!
I know where all the water has gone; it has somehow ended up on the inside of this cache. Nevermind, one soggy logbook and cache note is a subtle reminder that water is such a precious commodity and yet it falls from the sky in copious amounts and we do nothing to harvest it (apart from all the sensible people who have installed rainwater tanks).
Don't even get me started on gas and electricity [:(!] [:(!]. As for the puzzle, started the routine very briefly before the 'obvious' kicked in.
A new logbook and bag has been added to the cache. The old one is still there (and may dry out). Nice work CoC.

Find 1449 on a day planned to find many of the solved but unfound caches.
Problem Solvered last year and the cache found BFE Style Without The GPS.
The cache was retrieved using the geocaching tool kit.
Completed the mandatory Certificate of Compliance in a tradesman manner and headed to the next service call.
Thanks to *Cache_or_Check* for the challenge.

I solved this one the day it came out but only got around to visiting the cache today. Had a lot of trouble extracting the cache, and then only to find that the logbook and contents were soaked. Great puzzle. TFTC
This one took me too long as I overthought it and made things much harder than I needed to in excel. Nevertheless I had plenty of time up my sleeve to make sure I had the solution before this trip.
This cache was 5th in a run of 11 puzzles found in a row this afternoon.
It was also the most novel hide and required a bit of thought before the logbook was signed.
Log a bit damp.
Thaks Cache or checkfor a great hide and puzzle.
