Day tripping Wow nice day out with my bestie country driving thought do some TFTC
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 5 - Morgan area day. I have been looking at the caches around Morgan each time I was to the south on the Stuart Highway. I decided this trip would be a good time to spend a day and do what caches I could in the area. I wanted a ferry ride, so I went over the Morgan ferry for two caches the other side of the river and back via the Cadell ferry. Great to see them both in action. Next were caches to the West of town. A few singles, my favorite of the day was the Eba Siding. I was able to do all the Tour Down under caches and then head to the remaining Tour de France caches before heading back to camp for a late lunch. It did not take at all as long as I feared it would.I ventured onto some of the back roads today and was rewarded with white dust everywhere and plenty of caches. I happen to have done the Towitta cache in the past and will do the cemetery one soon. An interesting story. Thanks for the cache Nibs46412.7 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2010 Compass Rose Corvo A#190**Albida**

Another 3 Stooges road trip with Cheezel and WayneAPN, tackling the TDF series and a few more close by. A great day out with lots of laughs, carbs consumed and general tomfoolery. Cache found and log stamped.
It's been a while since our last get together to spend a day caching with Weredunn4 and Cheezel1961. With all the stuff occurring in each of our daily lives and work etc, the stars seem to align today for an outing out together, targeting the TDF series. Plus a few in easy range, hey were are out this way, may as well do them. Plus the usual target of interesting, unique D/T grids as well as high T caches. Thanks for this one, an easy find.TFTC SL

Decided to do a day trip to Morgan, Mt Mary and Bower area for a day’s caching which included the Tour Down Under series. Manage to get 55 for the day which is a personal best. Had a fantastic day looking around. All caches were in good condition unless mentioned otherwise. TFTC
I saw the documentary quite a few years back. Never new what happened after. TFTC Nibs and Auzee

Had read the intriguing but tragic story behind the placing of this and the other two in the trilogy which caused them all to be put on the must do when in the area list. Had started the day in the Pooginook Conservation Park and after finishing there was heading for the nearby TdU series but knowing this, and another in the trilogy, were close they became the first priority. Parked nearby and soon after was getting my stamp in the log.
Many thanks to Nibs for this cache with such an interesting back story.

Found at 15:46. I haven't been to the first cache in this series, I'm not really sure why as I've read the listing numerous times in the past. This one was a quick find, in a typically well-constructed Nibs and Auzee container.
This was a small diversion on my way home from working at Gluepot woth Shonky, Freddo and I-dax for a few days.

After a long break between geocaches, we decided today was the day to find one. I remember reading about the Towitta tradegy years ago but had no idea the family ended up at Mt Mary. TFTC
A bit of a detour off the main drag, but easily spotted at GZ. Took TB.
Thanks for the cache Nibs.

#6362 - 15:55; Day 4 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune. We are now headed from Barmera to Burra via Overland Corner, Waikerie, Blanchetown and Morgan plus a few other smaller towns. After starting the day by collecting a few caches along the shores of Lake Bonney, we had cached our way through Waikerie, Blanchetown and Morgan before picking up a few newer caches in the TdF series before heading out along this side road to the Thiele Highway and picking up this cache along the way. On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n. We headed through Hay, Mildura, Loxton, Burra before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed.

Family drive today to get a local series. Loved this cache, the story with it was awesome, great for the kids to be a wee scared in the dark.
We had a wonderful time, with a picnic lunch on the side of the road, finishing with a picnic dinner by the river.
We saw a fox, kangaroos, kookaburras, a wombat, sheep, lizards, rabbits and a bull which was right near a cache eeekkkk.
Ran into a wee issue with a tree that had fallen across the road blocking it completely, so please be cautious anyone driving this road, especially at night.
Something fantastic about watching a 10 year old, a 16 year old and a 40 year old jump from the car and race for the cache, putting child lock on, pushing, shoving and being total idiots, but only 2 sore ankles by the younger ones.
It was a great day out Thankyou

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Passing through for work and needed to stop for a phone call and noticed that this was nearby. Drove over and parked nearby. Quick find and sign log and replace. Gratias pro cache.
While doing the TdF series we decided to pick up a few while in the area and this was one of them.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Such tragic stories we hear with the history of our country towns. who will ever know the truth. Very little justice was carried out in that many were presumed guilty before any questions were asked. Great history and thanks for this trilogy. After SASR and I had hit the nearby TDF series and our satnav set to get us home we found ourselves driving not far from this one so could not resist a stop. TFTC
After doing caches in and around Eudunda and the TDF series.
We set our route for home.

Hmmm do we or don't we go to this one.
Yeah let's do it and make it our last for the day.

Our GPS took us from the last cache, My Sister's Keeper, to this one via an 8km dirt road!! Guess this way was marginally shorter than the bitumen way! It was interesting though to travel again through saltbush country after kilometres of lush green paddocks and yellow canola fields.
Once at GZ a quick find was made of another good solid container. Thanks.

After a good meal and sleep at the Commercial Hotel we visited Maa's bakery for breakfast. Fortified we set off with no intention of getting anywhere near the 122 finds of yesterday!!

Suscoe headed out for a day's caching in the company of Phetlern.
It was a warm day, just perfect for caching.
We enjoyed our time searching in a variety of locations.
We did the TdF trail as well as those on the return to Morgan.
With 4 pairs of eyes we found most of the caches quickly and then kept moving.
Thanks to Nibs for placing this cache here, we enjoyed this one.

After completing the Tour de France, with Team Suscoe, this is one of the caches we needed to find as part of post race warm down before returning to the caravan park. What an incredibly sad tale of lonliness and loss.
Thanks to Nibs for the hunt.

Thank you Nibs for another installment in the Towitta Tragedy
I started the series a few months ago and while I haven't found the first cache, I do know where it is hidden after a visit to the Sedan Cemetery.
Here I took time to have a look at the ruins and find the second cache
The third installment is not far away now and was where I was headed next.

[Black]Today we headed out to the TdF series with FelixII, quite happy to see that the rain had stopped and the sun was shinning albeit weakly.
We drove up the highway from Mallala to Morgan and drove back down the stock route picking up the odd additional cache along the way. The road was good order, though a bit slippery in isolated patches, and the rain stayed away. I must say I'm glad we didn't have to ride the route on the bikes.
Most caches were in good order and mostly dry inside even though some where in puddles of water.
Thanks for your cache Nibs, we had fun.[/Black]

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February and attending Oz Mega. Now we are leisurely checking out the rest of the State.
Having met up with iluvtrekking a few days ago and surviving the pouring rain of the last few days it was very nice to head out with them today with only the odd drizzle about. The sun even managed to poke its head out a couple of times. Think the temp only got to 14degrees though
A fabulous day touring the countryside. We also managed to complete the TDF series. A very successful day with only 1 DNF. Took heaps of photo's so a big thankyou for this cache.

When we came upon this cache we didn't realise it was part of a trilogy. We did manage to grab My Sister's Keeper further along the road. We didn't however see 'The Towitta Tragedy' cache along the route we took today....maybe another time.

A hot last day of the year but with Mogni in town we thought we would end the year with a power trail. TDF was the order of the day. Already had 10 finds under the belt just getting there. Had no DNF's for the TDF and a late lunch at Morgan. All that was left was the trip back home.
I was assured I might even get a close encounter with a camel here.....but alas only CP is the camel..and snake...and spider king! A quick find and sign only Thanks Nibs

We were in Morgan for a geo-adventure and started our day with a few quickies on our way to a nearby challenge.
It is always nice to read the story and to spend a few minutes to look at the location and think about what it might have been like here, all those years ago.
Thanks for the story.
