found on a trip to whyalla. the fake rock is still there and was still loaded in to my gps. log sheet is full but i suppose that doesn't matter if it's archived.
After a short walk, this one was a quick and easy find.
Thanks for the cache Dinko1974.
Found on 15 Oct 2017 at 8:27 am on a caching adventure with Froghoppin, MoneyDork and RedIguana. Find #5282.

After lunch we decided to go for a stroll and knowing there was a cache nearby decided to look for it. We managed to sign and return before the elderly couple made it up the hill. Lovely place and worthy of a cache. Thanks.
I had two TBs to drop and seeing there was a small cache nearby decided to try and find it. We only had the iPad with us but it did the job. The cache was too small for the TBs but the location made up for it. TFTC
Hooray a Port Augusta cache that we actually found!
A beautiful location!
Apologies for the generic log, we have a few months on the road ahead of us so data and time are precious, better we log now than try and remember in three months time and fluff it up! We will try to add a little custom sentence or two here for those special caches. So what are we upto? TeamThommo are off on their annual 'Big Trip' this year it's a 'Great Northern Adventure'.
This year have a couple of months to travel; we started at our home in South Gippsland and moving North through Vic & North West through South Australia, stopping at lots of little curious spots along the way with our first major stop Coober Pedy. We then plan to spend time at Uluru, Alice Springs, Lake Argyle, Broome and beyond.
Geo mum is the main cacher in the family and needs to pick and choose which caches are done otherwise the rest of the team will get 'sick of caching'. We particularly like Earth Caches and letterboxes.
Thank you for supplying us with a cache to do along the way.

Decided to go for a small walk to get this one, despite. the weather, Cache was quickly located once GZ was reached. TFTC
Found it with TICE [Hiltsu, J&T, kapeka & laalaa]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!
Greetings from Finland!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Port Augusta to Coober Pedy and we visited at Woomera on the way. Interesting little town. In the morning we found some caches from Port Augusta and more caches logged on the way. next night we spent in the underground motel.

On our way to the Mega in Alice Springs with the caravan in tow and now stopped in Port Augusta. Having ditched the van we headed out to grab some local caches and this was one found. A great view across the water. TFTC
Mr Morris headed off on a bucket list trip to speedweek in Lake Gairdner. He didn't quite make it, 2 flat tyres near Barmera meant a couple of days layover at Lake Bonney. A busted frame on the camper trailer meant another 2 days layover in Port Augusta. Those disasters then affected the fridges so they called it quits and headed home again. The trip is now known as the Master of Disaster tour.
Thank goodness for caching to keep him occupied while he waited - a big thank you to all the hiders.

#1267 Seventh of forty finds on Day 13 of my South Australian geocaching road trip. Nice easy find after a short search. TFTC
While on an amazing 7000km roadtrip to the NT with Pacgirl we did a lot of sightseeing, and a little bit of caching along the way as well . The aim was simply to drive north towards the Red Centre, do a couple of laps around Uluru (one by car, and one on foot), and then head back south to Victoria.
Day 13 had us continuing our journey southwards towards home via Mildura.
This was a great stop to take in the cliff views, and we had the whole place to ourselves on a bright sunny morning.
Thanks, Dinko1974.

Great view and as we were out looking for this one saw a car driving down the walking path. I'm not sure how they made it back as the car wasn't a 4wd at all.
It was great fun and really loved the mosquitos that came to visit.

Caching with earthlight and The X Trailers we decided to clean up a few around Port Augusta, we had a great day and the weather was very pleasant for us, managed around 38 finds and 4 DNFs, mother nature thought it was a good moment to drop some rain on us TFTC
After a great days caching yesterday with 3LG and The X-Trailers,today we are hoping to locate as many caches in the area as possible before we head to Pt Augusta city tomorrow.
A great day weather wise with rain falling as we get out of car.

Thanks for the easy find. Nearly got mugged by a friend who happened to drive by and wanted to walk with me. Needed to be polite and yak on till she turned back.
Thanks for bringing us out here to this beautiful spot. A long train pulled up over the water and then slowly made its way into Port Augusta. TFTC
Visited the Arid Gardens this morning, planning on four of the hides therein. What a beautiful place. Did the Green walk, through the various regions, up pas the sand dunes, before heading back for coffee.
After our coffee, we heading out to the cliffs for the view. After speaking with some local muggles, we managed to dive upon this one. Thanks Dinko1974

Enjoyed the walk along the cliff, Flinders travels make for interesting reading. Tftc
Found by Mary & David at 1530. Left Whyalla this morning and cached our way north to Port Augusta for the night. Another wonderful place to , with views to match. Wonder what Flinders would think of the place today? A quick find once the muggles left. Our thanks to Dinko1974.
A beautiful afternoon spent doing Port Augusta's west side caches with a round trip of Yorkey's Crossing. Nice stroll TFTC

Found this cache easily enough however I sustained a geo-wound retrieving the cache and had difficulty stopping the flow of blood! Only a minor wound however it caused me some grief - I could not real with the cache contents and had to hand over to my better half to complete the task. A clean-up at the nearby drinking tap and a quick patch up saw things on the improve. I was able to enjoy the spectacular views of and from the cliffs. TNLNSL Thanks Dinko1974
Great little place , I have been traveling to port Augusta for years with work and without caching I would have never seen this
On my Round Aussie Trip, travelling with IolantheK, who flew into Perth, from Brisbane, to travel the Nullabor with me, we found your cache..TFTC.
A great spot to detour to
The colours on a hot and sunny day are amazing.
The red of the cliffs, the blue of the waters, the purple of the distant mountains and the green of the scrub all bathed under an azure sky, make for some beautiful views
[orange]The Genesee and Wyoming ore train rolling through the view was the tasty filling in the scenic layer cake. [/orange]

Mrs Sandalwood Cottage relaxed in the Geomobile while Mr Sandalwood Cottage went in search of this cache. Only problem was he took the damn keys with him so by the time he got back he got a HOT & NASTY reception from Mrs Sandalwood Cottage, worse still it took him ages as there were muggles near the cache and he had to wait them out, Grrrrrrrrrrr......
Weekend road trip to catch up with "red"... such an awesome day to be out and about. Great views of the Flinders from here!! TFTC!!
Passed through Port Augusta 2 years ago and grabbed a few caches including some in this park.
This one was a quick find but there were quite a few muggles near GZ so we had to wait for the all clear to deal with it. Thanks.

A quick find on a day trip to Port Augusta to get our GeoPlaydoh some modifications. A great view today over spencer gulf. Have seen these banks recently from a boat at an event. The log is soaked from the recent rains, so much it was impossible to sign. TFTC
Heading up to Coober Pedy on a wet miserable day while on holidays from Victoria caching all the way.

What a wonderful view from this cache. I took heaps of photos to upload for the family back in WA - we will have to go back out there while we are in Port Augusta as the hills were cloudy today and I would love a photo of them in clear view.
Thanks for bringing us to this place.

WanderingAus wandered by on day 96 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, finally heading south after 9 weeks in Darwin, 3 days in Katherine, 3 days in Tennant Creek, and as happens only about every fourth year we spent some time in Alice Springs.
After a week in The Alice we made our way south, and then stopped for a couple of days in Coober Pedy.
After a night at Pimba and a flying visit to Woomera to replace my cache GC1YV45 WanAus 132 - Woomera Bofors, and meet froghoppin, we continued on to Port Augusta where we booked in for three nights to get the washing done and take yet another rest break - we're not as young as we once were.
I was roaming around the Botanic Gardens deploying some Munzees, and I was about to turn back when I remembered Tomtom telling me there was a cache somewhere. I took out the gpsr, woke it up from 'Suspend', and got a 'low battery' alert. After shutting it down, replacing the batteries, and firing it up again, I had to wait about two minutes to get a satellite lock.
A short walk and and I made an extremely quick and easy GAFF 0 find of a familiar shape.
My Groundspeak find No 2,949, TNLNSL.
*Overall Experience: 2*.

Nat a bad view at all! As the cache below promised. This hide was pretty cunning too so made it doubly worth the short climb in the desert winter "heat". OK - we're from Tassie!
Stunning view this morning with a clear blue sky, water like glass and a mist around the base of the Flinders. TFTC
a lovely trip deb and i came for a look around and grab a few caches loved the weather and even found a bit of mud
