Logs
We are on another short (three day) caching holiday in North Western Sydney, staying for two nights in a park cabin at the Ingenia Holidays Avina BIG4 Holiday Park at Vineyard. Planning on exploring the suburbs of Lalor Park, Kings Park, Marayong, Glenwood, The Ponds, Rouse Hill, Scheyville, Agnes Banks, Yarramundi, Hawkesbury Heights, and Castlereagh. Hoping to collect some more previously solved Mystery/Puzzle caches, complete some more Adventure Labs and SideTracked caches, and accumulate some more "units of fuel" for the "Cosmic Quest" souvenir challenge with a view to scoring the 100 point Ultra fuel souvenir. Our final day will have us going via Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside, for some more caching and a visit to the Nurragingy Miniature Railway, before taking the M7 & M2 Motorways back to home. Photos will be uploaded to logs on our return to home base.Today (day 3) we started the day with a ladder climb cache at Rouse Hill and then headed over to Nurragingy Reserve at Doonside for a visit to the Nurragingy Miniature Railway, followed by a nearby five stage Adventure Lab and associated AL Bonus cache, then a circuit walk around the northern end of Nurragingy Reserve between Richmond Road and the M7 Motorway. Ended our day with a previously solved Mystery/Puzzle cache and a Traditional cache in Melrose Park at Quakers Hill, before hopping onto the M7 Motorway and heading homeward. This was the 15th of 20 finds for the day (day 3), and 51st of 56 finds for the holiday. This one was next, on our circuit walk (clockwise) around the northern end of Nurragingy Reserve, and it was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. When we first arrived we feared the worst, but thankfully it didn't inflict any pain, and we were soon smiling TFTC dkmacca.Find #7034
After work, lets run some innings over here in Western Sydney Parklands. A quick find here, thanks for the hint. Now inching my way towards a big milestone next week. TFTC dkmacca
Find #: 3,586Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Grey autumn morningCache condition: GoodI had an unsuccessful search for this a few years ago, so was keen to avenge that DNF. This time I had no problems finding the container (once I got to GZ - the path being completely under water), so not sure why I struggled last time? Anyway, TNLNSL TFTC
Nice quick find. I'm assuming this isn't what the cache originally looked like back in the day. TFTC
Took us a little while before we started searching the correct spot. But, we found it in the end. It's funny how we always find the cache in the last place we look...
TFTC!!
TFTC!!
Stopped my bike right in front of it. Hadn't even started looking when the cache caught my eye. TFTC!
I was on my way home from a jog and decided to search for this cache. I was a bit distracted by looking for the "permanent container", but even when I realised I was looking for something more temporary was unable to find it. Thanks anyway.
I'm currently living outside this LGA and can't maintain these Caches while in lockdown. I will enable once I can get back into the area for maintenance.
Cheers

This was a hard one but we persevered and made the find. Thanks for placing a temporary cache, hope to be back one day for the original. TFTC!
Have set up a temporary cache , till I get a chance to fix up the old one.

I was getting really hungry, so only spent a short while searching but knew this would take ages. I gave up.
The sun was actually setting as I arrived, but that still left more then one side? Knowing what I was looking for, still no luck
OCW EverestHigh and Zelda the geodog to grab a few Ancient and Modern Wonders of the World.

Finally found this hide after our third try we didn’t bring pen to sign the log. This is number 50 for us
I need to assess any damage to this cache due to the recent flooding.

Took a little while to find the cache but we got there in the end. We were disappointed to find that the top of the bison tube was missing and the log had also gone missing. We put in a temporary log and replaced the hide. It will need replacing.
TFTC dkmacca. The 4Rods.

top has been forced open by one of last people now just falls off. put back but so it can be seen. needs fixing before to long
Not a needle in a hay stack but a rock in a stack of rocks. Not sure we would have found this without the help of the photos so thanks.
Sadly another DNF here although I feel that with more time we may have gotten there in the end as we knew what we were looking for. We'll be back!
Geobiking day around Western Sydney Parklands. Thanks dkmacca for this amazing series. 18 founds and 4 DNF.

Geocache No: 671
Time: 16:07
Condition: Good
Experience:
This was weird. We had DNF’s on this years ago because we attempted it last after heaps of caches and it was crazy dark.
This time, it was still light.
We knew, thanks to photos, what we were looking for but, not where.
In our search, we found the old log, full as but sitting on and in the rock wall. We took it with us as a souvenir.
In the end, we found it with the cache poking out so we replaced it hidden.
Thanks for the cache and the hard work you put into it.

Found at 15:44hrs after about a 30 minute search. Jeez! Glad I found the little stinker!!!! TFTC
Our sixth find on our family geocache day today!
This was super sneaky. We had our suspicions of what we were looking for. It turned out to be correct but it still took a lot of searching to find.

This is the third cache I’ve found with this type of camo and boy, they don’t get any easier! I love this type of hide. Great effort. GZed was mimicking me “is it here? No. What about here? Nope. Where is it???” I couldn’t help but laugh my way through making for an extremely long find. As for your question: I use my iPhone and the Cachly app to geocache. I wouldn’t use anything else either. TFTC!

Time is ticking by and I still need 40+ finds before earning the last of the Hidden Creature souvenirs. Was originally planning to do the Richmond Rd trail but spotted this one and figured it would be a great day for a bike ride.
With 5 from 5 caches already found this morning I was starting to feel like I was in the groove. As I approached this one, I spotted someone walking towards GZ with a smile and a welcoming "hello". As I soon found out, it was the CO. After a quick chat, it was time to make a find on this one under the watchful eye of the CO. I had already read the hint, which narrowed down the search area considerably and then I had two hide types in mind (based on previous experience on similar caches). With a bit of systematic searching, I spotted a likely contender and was happy to get my name in the log. Very nice to meet you dkmacca and I appreciate you going out of your way to come and say hello.

Haha. Finally got it. And replaced. TFTC
(But i didnt find it quick enough to not get caught in the down pour walking back to my car in the Richmond Rd carpark.. home for a hot shower and back for the last 2 (or 3 ... but I reckon that last one in the grass might be a job for MrS) later in the week.)

After spending about 10 minutes sitting on a wall trying to get some more hints from previous logs, finally gave up and started the painstaking search only to realise I've been sitting on top of it the whole time... Great camo TFTC
A really lovely description. There is something fun about finding hidden treasures. I think I've decided that geoacaching is a bit like an Easter Egg hunt for grown ups Very appropriate too as today is Easter Sunday and dinner with the family is on the cards (should have been lunch but caching got in the way). Anyway... As geodad always says. If it wasn't for the cache we wouldn't have come here and it's true. This was a great walk in lovely warm weather. Thanks for the cache dkmacca! P.S. geodad made the find here. Phew!
Despite the predicted heat today, we made our way out to Western Sydney Parklands for a day of geocaching. Wow, this is it what we were originally looking for! Really well- conceived and clevelry- constructed camo. A favourite from us and a nice one for our milestone 3,300th geocache. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Following help and encouragement from the CO I'm back at the Western Sydney Parklands to try and reverse some of the dnf's I had when last here a couple of weeks ago. This was the first failure last time but not today. Easy when you know where to look. Off to see if my luck holds out with Speedy Lycra. TFTC and your help macca.

An afternoon walk through Western Sydney Parkland; home of quite a few caches.
How I hate these kind of caches, as the possible hiding spots are plentiful. After a while checking the side indicated by the hint it was thankfully cache in hand!

Finally a cooler day and an opportunity to do some caching. I decided it was time to head west from the east to tackle the dkmacca caches in Western Sydney Parklands as I have been told his caches were very clever and unique. I managed to tackle sixteen caches and found seven. Unfortunately the ones I found were bisons and nanos so I am yet to see any of his unique caches.
After parking in Quakers Hill Parkway opposite the entrance to the Parklands I started hunting. Here the phone indicated I should be searching the gabions and with the hint I gave the side the sun sets on a good working over but came up empty handed after a 20 mins search. Time to move on. TFTC.

Was here yesterday with no luck and ran of time, today tried again. I resorted to looking at past photos of finders to get the GZ. Looking and looking, bingo there you are. Clever little cameo.
