Sad to say that qld rail have been fixing the bridge & have sealed up the hidey hole that this one was/is in. It may still be in there but unfortunately this can no longer be accessed without vandalism (not advised). Sorry.
Nice little find with some fresh eyes this time (couldnt find last time but only had 5mins to look )
Not too hard if you read the clues.

I was staying up at Maleny for the weekend as a result of attending a wedding on my wife's side of the family. As part of the arrangements, I negotiated compensation, for having to suffer through the various events, in the form of a day of caching. The wife and daughter would travel up with her sister and I was free to roam the countryside on the way to Maleny, gathering caches at my leisure.
I suffered some self inflicted kerfuffle getting to the car parking spot that I wanted, but I evetually arrived safe and sound to witness the Spirit of Queensland train thunder over the top of GZ as I made my way from the car. A short search of the area soon had the cache to hand. TFTC

After finding a couple of caches in the Glasshouse Mountains, Coolumroo and I headed to Landsborough however decided that we should stop here to have a little look.
The old road looked like a good spot to park so the vehicle was parked here and we walked to GZ.
At GZ, after a short search the cache was located.
The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache returned exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.
Find #419.

Out with CDAH55 today. After getting a couple of caches just back up the road we decided to make a stop here and have a look for this one.
Lucky for us this one was a quick find. With a little bit of rain around today we had no trouble with any Muggles about. and after signing the log things were put back in place just the way we found it.

Out and about in my local area this morning picking up a few bits and pieces I needed for the garden. Decided to try for a few caches on the way home. Nice cache but pretty scary when a train rumbles overhead whilst your signing the log. Thanks for bringing me here.
This day in history
Thomas Mitchell departs Orange, New South Wales, in search of a great river flowing to the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Major Thomas Mitchell was born in Craigend, Scotland, in 1792. He came to Australia after serving in the Army during the Napoleonic Wars, and took up the position of Surveyor-General of New South Wales. He undertook four separate expeditions into the NSW interior.
Mitchell departed on his fourth and final expedition on 16 December 1845, in search of a great river that he believed must flow from southern Queensland to the Gulf of Carpentaria. He left from Orange in central New South Wales, and headed into what is now western Queensland. Mitchell discovered and named the Balonne, Culgoa, Barcoo and Belyando rivers, which mostly flowed south-west into the Darling. Although this area was not as rich as the land he had found in Victoria on his third expedition, it would prove to be excellent grazing country in the future.

Friday. Both Slow Punctures were headed up for a relaxing night away from everything at Montville. Well, not everything! Caches to be picked up if they fall in our path...
We would have loved to have been able to drive under here, but still, we enjoyed the drive down the abandoned access road to get near GZ. Read the cache notes carefully and Kerry soon had the cache in hand, signed and replaced. Whilst we were there we were lucky enough to have two trains go past: IMU 106 (southbound) and SMUs 183/173 (northbound), which was a bonus.
This was the 4th of 10 caches found on this trip.
Thanks [Blue]jasenjanine[/Blue], for showing us this place.

Driving past along the back road today and took the opportunity to collect this one on the way past.. nice little hide but no trains for us.
#837 - I have lost count of the number of 'play' days IolantheK and I have spent together now, but they're always a lot of fun and are more profitable than when I go out on my own.
Indeed, good timing on our part, we heard the railway rumble! Nice container and nice hide. Not too hard if you're of average height.

Headed north to return an outfit to a friend. Whilst I was on my way up I noticed a delay in traffic heading home so decided to grab a few caches. This was one of them.
A good spot for a cache and maybe i was delaying the find with hopes of having a train rumble past. No luck in that regard but a nice cache to find. So many logs which is fantastic to see! Tftc. Recovered and returned on a dreay Monday.

We had been out for the day for a paddle in the kayak and were heading past this way on our way home so we thought we would stop in for a quick find - it was a shame the speed bumps had be put in the way as we decided we should also head up to Skippy Park for the cache there too. We found Railway Rumble quite easily and added our name to the log. All was good with the cache - thank you for having placed it jasenjanine.
Up here with KT to celebrate her ten year Diaversary and also why not pick up a souvenir for our efforts. TFTC and the adventure. Another on map on our road trip.

A quick escape from Brisbane for the weekend had us camping at Landsborough - and of course we nabbed some caches on the way home. TFTC!
Today we arrived into Beerwah, camping at the showgrounds.
After lunch we travelled up towards Melany, such a wnderful drive every corner we turned there was just amazing views. Just a perfect day out.
The train was approaching as we arrived at GZ. We spotted a likely hide.

Quick and easy find. The log was difficult to remove and replace as it was so tightly packed. Thanks jasenjanine.

Quick and easy find. TFTC. Upon arriving at the GZ i immediately noticed the loose section and after a closer look, came up with the cache. Signed the log and returned it to its hide.

Took me a while to find this, my scope wasn't wide enough, at least the bridge sheltered me from the drizzling rain. Thanks!
Train rolled at speed just overhead as I reached for the cache. Holy Moly! Heart rate sure went up! Found at 2.20 pm on 15th Jan 2015. TFTC.
Tftc. Picked this up after visiting Australia Zoo. Also had a good timing; freight train rumbled by when working with the cache.
Found at 1050.
A quick walk to GZ from Steve Irwin Way, and I soon spotted the cache.
Interesting container
I added a new log sheet as the old one was chockas.

Placed my faith in hoping I could turn around at the end of the disused road and drove as far as I could for a short stroll to GZ. Easy find spotting the signs of camo.
Was really excited to see this one, unfortunately no trains at the time we were there. Quick find.
Wanted to drop off Ron loved Trains to hang out, but he wouldn't fit in the cache, will find him another one close to trains.

Found by Team Ladava on our Maleny micro break while visiting the relatives in Caloundra.
Well, perhaps I should say it was already in the hands of another team.
It was great to meet HDSpringer from North Queensland midway between our homes as we are from Victoria.
A quick chat and signing ceremony and we were off back to Maleny for dinner.

Found it today after deciding I would try to find it, however I did not have a pen so I am going back tomorrow to write in it. The log book hadn't been dated since 2010 which I found strange. Going to try and fit a bracelet in the tiny cache! It seemed like a pretty cool place to put it, wasn't too hard.
After pies and cheesecake for lunch, we thought we'd better do some more walking to work it off. Started with this one just down the road - Rockhampton tilt train at the station unloading so none rumbling past while we were there. Probably just as well.
Hadn't read any logs yet so was not expecting it to be hard. If we had, we might have overthought it too much and taken longer.
Found closest location to gz and reached to a spot that looked like it could be hiding something. And there it was! Less than a minute to find - Yay, us! Like placing the last piece into a jigsaw.
Interesting combination of plumbing fittings.

Travelled to Landsborough to spend a few days, sightseeing and caching.
After our initial search, we realized this was not going to be a mint tin at the base of a tree.
So back to the description, to read it (properly, this time). Then search, take 2.
This time we had some idea of where to look, and the well hidden cache was finally located.
A fun cache, well worth a favourite point from us.
Many thanks for placing this cache, jasenjanine, for us and others to find.

With just two more caching days before we head back to home we picked this lovely area and managed to find the cache. Yesterday we also visited the cache but it resulted in a read some more logs this morning and this time we were able to spot what we needed . Oh yes we had the rumble - more than once . Fav poing alloc. Thanks to jasenjanine.

Wow, what a well done cache.
I parked just up on the Steve's Way as I was heading out to Beerwah for a quick cache run.
As I approached GZ I was looking around and was hoping for a rumble but heard one go past only 10 minutes prior so I knew I was out of luck. So, I started doing what I was there for.
After a quick look around I found what I was looking for. I have to say that this cache is fun as the hide is just awesome. So awesome in fact, I am going to add to the whooping 20 Fav' Points already awarded.
Great cache 'jasenjanine'. The cache is in good order though the logs could do with a tidy.

This cache was recommended to us by a local geo-legend so it was a must for our quick Easter visit. Funnily enough, the cache was in the first place we looked but as we didn't test that spot thoroughly, it would be another ten minutes before actually laying hands on the container. Thanks for a cool hide and a well constructed cache!
Easy find with OzGuff on March 29.

Heading down to my Crikey! cache to perform maintenance and stopped to find a few along the way. We were a little worried that this one would baffle us, especially with the last finder having taken five visits. But we had literally just arrived at GZ when Paradise Found points over there and says, "How about there?" Brilliant hide though! Fave point definitely. TFTC! [B]808
I have been to this site five times and I have not been able to find it. I looked everywhere and went back over the area and around the area and could not find it. People had found it days before and after I had searched so I knew it was there. Today I went to look again and told myself that I was using fresh eyes.... Then I found it!!!! Got it within two minutes. Not sure why I hadn't seen it before. I guess my interpretation of the hints had me not looking in the right spot. Soooooo glad I finally found it. Very good hiding spot
We have a brand new GPS so we headed out today to test it out. We had to aprk on the other side of the road and a bit of a distance away, but when we got closer to GZ we found that we could have driven much closer - oh well. Once at GZ we searched for a short while before locating the hide. TNLNSL TFTC
A quick find on this one today after a no show a couple of days ago. Nice cache, good hide. Tftc
We had a bit of a hunt around and then Mr. Herbz spotted something tidily tucked away. Good hide TFTC.

GeoLady grabbed this one - and the Railway did Rumble as she was grabbing it, giving her a start! Love the railway themed ones. TFTC.

I, too was part of this mob forming a now famous Pprime MEG outing. Number 8 today I was told. Crew 153 and I skipped the last cache as we'd both found it and headed to this next on the list. We parked just off the main drag and legged it in. With everyone a cache behind, we figured we'd make a start. We looked all about where the GPSr indicated and I hadn't read the cache description and went for a bit of a scramble up. Lucky I was watching as there was, very cliche, a train coming in the distance. We stood near the bridge as it screamed past. That ribcage rattling rumble and grinding certainly holds one's attention. Railway rumble indeed!
The rest of the crowd turned up - Fangsoki, Pprime, Sweet_bee, La Kedi, /dev/gc0c, dahumbug, Dosshell, Parko's, AngelasansDave, SwellerFungus, Lady Sim and KJTJMJ - did I mention it was a crowd? We mentioned we'd already found it as everyone else did the hard yards. However nobody noticed our names weren't already in the logbook. Tehehe.
I do love these type of spots, being a fan of trains and all. And nicely hidden, a fun cache to do. TFTC jasenjanine

Pretty tricky hide, lucky I was with an experienced group.

So, what is MEG? Amongst a few 2013 GEOGoals I've set myself, one I have dubbed Mission Empty Glass (MEG for short). This involves tackling all caches across an area I've defined loosely as 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Every multi, every mystery, every micro, every mountain and everything in between. This, the eighth group outing, was focussed around Mount Tibrowoocum and Mount Cooee, and north to the Landsborough township. After the traditional pre-start coffee - Fangsoki, Sweet_Bee, Dosshell, La Kedi, /dev/gc0c, Dahumbug, Angie minus Dave, Crew153, Captain Terror, Swellerfungus, Lady Sim and KJTJMJx2 completed the mob attack on the day.
Mobbed by the MEG mob as we drove past. Took a little bit of hunting, but with a couple of previous finders in the group we weren't left to struggle too long. . A train rumbled by before I arrived, apparently scaring the bejeebus out of the Captain. .That would have been worth the admission alone, sad I missed it really. But someone of the Captain's ilk is what you need for this one, so glad he, and Swellerfungus were along today.
Thanks for placing this cache, jasenjanine. Mobbed in good condition.

After taking a quite armchair style approach to GZ we saw a Thomas scrambling a wall only to scamper down moments after our arrival. One of the MEG8 group had the cache in hand which was quickly signed and replaced in its hidey spot. a nice quick little smiley if your in the area....though I can see how it could be difficult given the right circumstances..cheers to jasenjanine for this one..:_)
Auteur completely overthinking this one it, we checked the Terrain rating and realised we should set our standards lower. A very clever little hide once we finally found it. I wouldn't like to be here when the train is rumbling past...the foundations seem to be falling apart!
Found with the MEG#8 event crew as our 7th find for the day.
Got to GZ and had a bit of a look around and it wasn't looking good for a few minutes there!
Then someone has the smart idea to look 'there' and you could hear the face palms from most of the crew.
Wow. That's a pretty good hide, that one! Just the best little spot behind there!

I was tagging along with the MEG#8 group and they had all stopped at Crikey but as Captain Terror and I had already found it we headed straight to this one.
We hadn't found it by the time the others arrived but we stood back and told them that we had found it and replaced it and they would have to find it themselves.
It took a while but finally someone looked in the correct spot. No one noticed that our names weren't already in the log book but now we are in there as the group log.

Too cleverly hidden for a 'preppie' cacher, in company with Angus88. TFTC. 64deg50min
For a cache where people have said second or third try, there are not too many DNFs logged so here is one now. DNF. Angus the great GeoWestie in company with 64deg50min assisted by grey nomad Carer Lis Brown en route Shepparton to Bundaberg.
Been here a couple if times in the past and had us stumped but this time we nailed it. Great spot tftc
I'm sure I've been here before, oh yes I have but there were railway muggles nearby at the time. Take 2 and after over thinking the issue eventually the cache was disclosed.
