This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Point Lowly and Whyalla to scuba dive with the cuttlefish, who annually migrate there over the winter months to breed. The cuttlefish were plentiful, with the largest groups that I had seen from several prior visits there. Whyalla was a good little city, but unfortunately due to COVID-19, a number of steelworks and mine tours had been cancelled in the current times.
Similar to the previous day, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I started our day this morning with a final cuttlefish dive at Stony Point. The sun was out, and we had great visibility to see those chameleons of the sea. We then had one final drive around Point Lowly, before driving along the coastal road towards the Point Lowly intersection turn-off, and then onwards into Whyalla. We had a late lunch along the Whyalla's beach/coast, before exploring a few of Whyalla's attractions: Mount Laura Homestead Museum, and Hummock Hill Lookout.
I noted that although this cache had been archived, there was probably still a good chance of this cache still available to be found. Subsequently, after diving at Stony Point nearby, we headed along the coastal road past this cache and made a quick stop at this location. It was a quick jog into the growth, where the cache was found rather exposed. The cache container had become quite brittle, and just starting to fall apart, but logbook was still ok / in good shape. It is a shame that this cache got archived when it appeared to be still in good condition. Logbook signed, and cache/container placed back. Thanks Kev the Rev for the cache placement.

Sadly, failing health and the inability to access some of my caches has forced me to abandon some of them. Although disabled they will remain in place for those who already have them in their GPS units for at least the forseeable future. To claim any disabled caches go to the owners profile page, click on the caches and all caches (active and disabled) will be shown. simply claim the find as you normally would.
Found by Mary & David, in company with pprass (signed as m & p), at 1215. Our last day in the Whyalla area, and we cached around Point Lowly. We were nearly going to put our arms down there, but we found the cache before that happened. Our thanks to Kev the Rev.
Found at 12:13 PM GAFF5 in the company of maccamob. We signed the log book as "M & P".
We saw many rabbit holes and we were wondering if the cache was going to be taken home by a rabbit
Thanks Kev the Rev.

Day Seven of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747. Today we played around Point Lowly and Whyalla, grabbing a handful of caches on the way..
No rabbits seen today - a few kanga bouncers, lots of birds, but....
Nice view of the houses and the coastline though.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7661. Robmc and I headed to Point Lowly to have a look at the lighthouse and to collect caches on the way there and on the way back. Like the name of this series on Cuttlefish Drive. Rob explained why the series is Sepia Apama. We also collected a few interspersed with this series.
Didn't see any rabbits or any rabbit holes but we soon found a cache.
Thanks Kev the Rev

We are on our way to the Mega event at Stanthorpe but having left Adelaide we could not resist this diversion to pick up some of the caches around Whyalla. The temperature being in the high thirties we decided to do some of the coastal caches as well as some of the pipeline caches. Nicely done - we enjoyed finding this cache Thanks to Kev the Rev for placing this cache.
Catching up on some very late logs.
We headed out to Port Bonython for a day of sightseeing and of course caching on our last full day in the Whyalla area.
We have been really enjoying the views of this coast line especially the vastly different colors in the water today.
Again we were fortunate as we located the cache in the first place we looked and now have our name in the log.
Many thanks to Kev the Rev for placing this cache.

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia after having attended Oz Mega.
What an amazing day we had today. Last day travelling with iluvtrekking and the weather was fantastic. The boys headed out on their own in the morning and grabbed about 10 caches before cooming back and collecting us girls.
Then it was off to Port Bonython and Point Lowly. What a fabulous area, Im sure we would never have headed out here if not for Geocaching so thankyou so much for sharing this area with us.
Having just seen a snake at the last cache hunt, it was out with the walking sticks to find this cache.

Out and about with Felixll for the last time on this trip, tomorrow we start our long trip home.
But, as all good caches know, there is always time to gather in a few more smilies. So, we headed off to Port Bonython and we are so glad we did. It is such a beautiful spot, the views are breathtaking and we had a fantastic day.
Thanks Kev the Rev or your cache.

With a few bush walks and a lots of drive by's, a pleasant day was had.
Cache was an easy find, and in good condition.
Thanks for placing this cache, Kev the Rev, for us and others to find.

We came to Whyalla to attend the event "Another Meet n Greet" with Earthlight, we stayed the night and got through some caches while we were here we managed around 140 caches while we here, the drive around the coast here was really nice, i have been here before fishing but not in these parts, it was great to travel this road and see the many beauties this part of the coast holds, we saw a couple of Kangaroos and a baby brown snake, we shall return one day to finish of the other part. TFTC and to all that contributed to placing the caches here.
The suns shining, the sea is flat calm, the sea breeze is cool and the view wow Another TFTC
Haven't seen any rabbits around here but I dare say they are around. Cache was found without any problems thanks.
Poor CP had to find most caches along Cuttlefish Drive by himself as Aussie Mary insisted on taking photographs. TFTC.
A great drive - we spotted the odd cache, fisher persons, dolphins, a couple of eagles and plenty of mini 4x4 challenges. A classic drive I have not done in many years.
Thanks to Kev the Rev and clear skies from TeamAstro.

South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
This is the beginning of the journey home, we really only had half a day caching before the driving began to take over. We drove from Whyalla to Peterborough doing what caches we could as we went. Everyone has done a great job of placing a great variety of caches and we had a great day.
Thanks.

An interesting drive along the coastal dirt road. An unexpected area we didn't really know much about. Thanks for bringing us out here. Great views over the water and back towards Whyalla.
Grabbed with Albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

Travelling from Port Augusta to Whyalla picked this up on the way.
When I opened this cache I said Grahame Cookie must have been here as he always leaves a correct site marker in caches he's been to & there was his name. A local from my home region of Port Macquarie
Thanks Kev The Rev

2155(CWT) GAFF1 (Late logging - 24/1/12) While on a 2 week road trip to Western NSW from Taree, NSW I grabbed a few caches while doing some 6,000 kms and now well into SA territory!

This find was part of a two day geocaching adventure to Whyalla and other interesting places. We found a total of 100 caches and this cache was part of our fantastic two days. We climbed sand hills, fought cactus bushes, climbed cliffs, searched hundreds of salt bushes, phoned some friends and met some new ones. Thanks for contributing to our fun! TFTC
Having a trip to Whyalla with Trail06 on our annual post Xmas run.
We started early Tursday and got back late on Friday.
We found the Whyalla caches very testing and we had a lot of dnf's. Not sure if it was the cache vandal or us.
Thanks to all who placed caches.

A nice day caching with the clan, doing caches between Whyalla and Point Lowely, picnic lunch and playing around as you do on the coast. Worried for a bit that it was in the rabbit hole but then a read the hint and it was easily found. TFTC
We were on a pilgrimage to Port Lincoln caching along the way.
Day 2 and it was time to do the Port Bonython caches - might have been some cache creep on this one. TFTC.

I had been intending to check on my cache “Woofa”, so a new placement nearby provided the incentive. I walked across from Woofa and made this find harder than it should have been by approaching from the wrong side of the trees at first. Once I realised this and walked around the other side, I saw the geotrail left by the placer leading to GZ! Great views.
Thanks Kev the Rev.
