Day 2 of our trip and this one was another quick find by us before adding our names and then replacing as found and then moving on to the next on the shortlist. This was a mainland trip from Tassie to do a couple of things, we wanted to grab a few LGAs and also the big item was to finish of the DT grid of 1Toolman.We landed late on Wednesday night and after a good night at the Melbourne Novotel Toolman picked up and drove us North for four days of caching before he brought us back on Sunday night, we had a great time with lots of caching and lots of laughs.Found on 25/10/2024 at 18:44:00 thanks to baby&Mrs gopher for placing this cache for me to find. Out and about smashing LGAS FOR SSRAT while Him and GOOSE are in Australia.Lots of hidden treasures on 'railway line stops' Quick find in amongst a 600km day.TFTC
In our haste we missed the historical plaque and sign but we didn't miss the cache! It was a quick find for us.Thanks baby&Mrs gopherOur four day boys trip was an 1800km dash from Melbourne Airport into southern parts of NSW, caching in 19 different LGAs. After an overnight near Melbourne airport, the toolman picked us up and we were off. Overnight stops were in Deniliquin, Ariah Park and Albury with a small selection of caches in each LGA unless there some more exciting ones to make us hang around a bit longer. The toolman finally filled his D/T grid. Lots of laughs, lots of insults, a good number of caches, but not enough sleep! Thanks to all the COs that made the trip a fun adventure. Our middle geokid and I are heading away for a few nights camping. Tonight, we plan to camp at Lake Cargelligo before heading up to Lightning Ridge and then meeting up with the Father in Law at Carinda. A warm day on the road, but after all the rain yesterday, lots of wildlife was spotted. Turtles (we saved one from the middle of the road) snakes and lots of different types of lizards. Quick park and grab here.TFTC!
A couple of quick caches while out doing a jobCache found dry and in good condition.Signed and replaced. Many thanks for placing this cache, baby&Mrs gopher, for us and others to find.

Now to get away!Day 3: It is time to leave our waterside camp in Griffith today and head to Young, exploring and caching along the way. This one wasnt quite in the rest stop where we first thought but the coords were spot on and a quick find at GZ once a Uturn was undertaken. Thanks baby&Mrs gopher for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! #21198. Day 6 of our escape into NSW. The weather has become so nice we are going to extend the trip by an extra day. Today was just a gentle touring day from Barellan to Temora gathering up some finds along the way. We did have the customary DNF though.
Sure is a long name for so little left of the town. A nice quick find and sign before we continued on our way.
Thanks baby&Mrs gopher

Day six of setting off north with BettyBoo3747 and geodoggies.
The weather in Beechworth has been far too damp and cold for caching!
Today we started in Barellen and drove to Temora.
Another lovely blue sky and sunny day.
Our first of the morning, good to start with a quick find.
Expecting another rest stop and nearly drove right past this cache!
Certainly not much left of the town.
Thanks, Robmc.

#16775 - 3:42:00 PM; After a couple of nights in Mildura on the way home from South Australia after collecting the geomobile with Sol de lune, today we head for home. Collected a few caches along the way, adding a county or two as we went. A damp log here and there was no surprise, gven recent weather events, which also see the Sturt Highway closed at Gillenbah. Luckily we had planned to detour via Griffith and Leeton, so the road closure didn't present a problem. The mozzies though were a different proposition and made things a bit unpleasant at times! All caches found in good order, unless otherwise indicated, and replaced as found after we added our names to the log. Nice quick find and sign here as we dodged more mozzies! TFTC baby&Mrs gopher
Heading home after picking up a car in Adelaide with LuckyL10n and took a detour through Griffith and Leeton to cross off another county or two, before the final section into Canberra.
Very quiet around at the time of our visit so it was quick find and sign before moving on.
Many thanks guys for the reason to stop and another little smiley face. Hope all is good in your neck of the woods. Cache certainly is all good.

TFTC baby&Mrs gopher. Today was a travel day from West Eyalong to Griffith. Our rig is around 14metres long so not always convenient to pull over on the side of the road. WE stopped where we could to make some finds. All in good order. Stopping a few days at Lake Wyangan before crossing into Victoria.

Found on the way home from a long and great day caching with my newly inducted geo-bae, DatFaz! He did amazing for being new to it, and I loved sharing this part of my life with him! And I only hacked his logs once, I promise!
Such a clever find, definitely one of my favourites for the day. TFTC!

Didn't notice the coordinates in the description, it would be a really nice idea to add them as a "Parking Waypoint" instead as that pops up on my map when I go to navigate!
Not a problem though, as I ended up just parking a few metres away from it on the side of the road instead as I almost zoomed past it and quickly stopped!
Massive thanks for placing this cache in such a rural spot to break up the trip.

A family outback camping trip. The goal was Lake Mungo but as we got informed about road closures while on the way we had to change plans and made it only to Cocoparra NP. WE loved the country side and wildflowers, Budgies, Emus and lots of other Birds we saw. A great trip with a number of caches along the way (collecting a few counties) and I for one certainly am keen for more.
This is unfortunately already on our way back a few quick stops when ever we had to check on the trailer or rest stops.
Quick find, nice cache, all in good order.
Thank you baby&Mrs gopher for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Todays trip was from Bathurst - West Wyalong for a coupke of days to attend a funeral, no caching done here as we had found them all on a previous trip.

Heading south for the St. Arnaud event next month after leaving the QOGM in Blackall. Day 52 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 3 caches for the day and 1592 for the trip. TFTC
I was visiting a recently set up banding site at Ungarie for the weekend, and fortunately had Friday off so decided to take a very circuitous route and camp near Rankins Springs to pick up a few caches. The aim was to get 5 cache types in 8 LGAs to beat my record for the latter, and to add some numbers to my total. In the end I got 38 caches with 2 DNFs (only one logged), 7 local government areas (still beat my best) and 2 bonus FTF as well (1 of the DNFs would have been a 3rd - and could have got 2 mores if I had decided to go for a walk). So was pretty happy with that and I would like to thank all the COs for their placement and maintenance.
The reception around here was a bit dodgy and so I didn't have the full info when I parked for this one. In the end it was pretty obvious where the cache would so ended up a nice park and grab. The mallee around Moombooldool must have been spectacular before they cleared most of it - only roadside remnants left.

There was very light traffic when we arrived at this location. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks baby&Mrs gopher for the cache.

After doing the morning activates I had on, I found myself with most of the early afternoon off before I started work at 5pm. I decided on seeing if I could get the FTF on the new cache out at Barellan. I originally asked another team if they could with me but something came up. This lead to me asking swimmagurl if she wanted to come for a trip out. So we headed off and by the end of the day we had made four finds, which included a FTF, swimmagurl’s 100th find and lots of fun & laughs. TB visit on all caches. We would like to thank all CO’s of the caches we found and for the fun we had along the way today.
This was our second out of four finds for the day. When we arrived at GZ there was nothing around. After looking at passed logs, we discovered that it was meant to be some distance away from GZ. After widening our search, swimmagurl made the find about 20m away from GZ. You may want to update the coordinates for this one. TFTC and the difficult and long find.

Johnomawbs noticed there was an unfound cache at Barellan so he asked me if I would like to go with him to find this cache and other caches along the way. I also found out that I made my 100th find today on the last cache we found.
We pulled up and walked to GZ and noticed that nothing was near, after widening our search, I found it first about 20m away from GZ. TFTC! PS. Nice hiding spot.
