We parked up at this nice picnic spot to start a walk along the trail. We didnt bring the bikes but decided on a short walk to warm up and to find a few caches. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for an enjoyable cache.
Took a few minutes to find. Will bring the bikes down at a later date to do the series
#6459.After a quick visit to Wangaratta, I had a bit of spare time to attempt a couple of caches on the way home. This was the first one. Quick and easy. TFTC!
#726 3:00PMFriend wanted to stop to watch the train go past and I wanted to grab this geocache. Thanks for placing this cache BettyBoo3747
Out on the bike today with our middle geokid. I've been eyeing off this trail for ages now but just haven't had the opportunity. Today was the day, planned to try get half done starting from Bowser station, this will depend on how the little man's legs go. First for the day, parked up at around 11am. Walked over to this one and soon spotted it, as well as a huge huntsman. TFTC!
Hello BettyBoo3747 thank you for the cacheAn afternoon walk to see how many I could find before my legs give out. This one took some time for me to locate.I found this cache during our Newcastle 2024 trip to see the grandchildren.Found on Saturday, 04 May 2024 at 1404**TFTC**
Called past to have a look at this one today. Moved it slightly from where BootnBee had popped it after they retrieved it from the roof. All good here.
Obviously someone as thrown this one way up high! Thankfully we had the tools to retrieve it and re-hide. Have notified BettyBoo3747 and she will fix it up tomorrow.First stop on our venture along part of the rail trail in a bid to start completing a few more caches around the North East. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for hiding and maintaining this series.
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. Wet logbook so we photo it
This has all the hallmarks of a classic Alfetola DNF, but I managed to use the window without muggles to systematically and ahh there it is! TFTC, these rail trails are gorgeous - must bring my bike next trip.
Mapped it out at Wangaratta 149m. Great to reach bike trail for last few kms to Wang cycling from Corowa today after leaving Bathurst 10 days zig zagging south return ing from cycle touring around Taiwan.
Robmc and I parked at Bowser station and enjoyed a sunny spring day to do some maintenance. A short ride checking 11 caches and fixing up as required.First cache checked and removed old log and left new one and rehid better.
Took several searchers to track it down and we needed a small hand to retrieve. TFTC.
Heading home from Albury after a caching in Canberra with friends. This was my first cache of the day. I was originally planning a major diversion via Tatong, Mansfield, Bonnie Doon, and Alexandra chasing Adlabs, but decided to head home directly. So to try to make up numbers, I headed to this series. Found all except the next one and a DNF.
My thanks for the cache, tattboy1 and BettyBoo3747.

For some reason I was looking for something so much smaller, I pulled over for a bite to eat while on my way to a First Aid course, I had a feeling that there was a cache in this area so while eating I started looking, then i caught sight of something that wasn’t supposed to be there.

A quick easy park and grab on the outside of Wangaratta at what was an amazing little historic train station thank you very much for the fact of the adoptions and keeping this old hide alive
Stamped as JAMS - JJ52, alllister w, mogni, sir_spectre. All of these teams are from South Australia and after some major planning we managed to find approx 700 caches while being away for a week. Also qualifiied for a variety of challenges, found LGA's and had lots of laughs. Found while attending the Victorian Mega in Rutherglen.
Thanks
Thanks
The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]
We are now caching around Wangaratta finding caches to meet the A-Z challenge along with a few others.
It was a lovely day today and great walking on this trail. I had read all about it from tourist information at our accommodation.
Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747.

The JAMS crew go mega - JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre. having had a huge weekend in Rutherglen it was time to head for home, it only took 5 days.
Thanks
Thanks
We took a hike down the bike track, 9.5 km's or so. At the start of the trail the butterfly's were so thick i thought i was going to choke on one. I did enjoy the fact that the co used a number of different container from bison tubes, to cliplock containers, to fruit containers plus the style of hiding was different for the trail.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

This was my last of this little series.
Boy did I work hard for it.
In the end it was an easy find.
But I looked round and round and nearly gave up!

Road trip to Rutherglen Mega event just cruising around picking up random caches found quickly signed and replaced...TFTC
There have actually been quite a few times that I have been looking around on google maps when I’ve seen a place called Bowser and wondered what could possibly be the deal with such a small rural suburb. Seeing as the place has kinda perplexed me for some time I knew I’d have to make a quick stop here when I saw there were some caches placed.
Even though it’s late, I pulled up to GZ and used my high beams to search for the cache, which didn’t take too long at all. Got it signed and replaced as found.
Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry.

Found after a search round and round. Hopped back in the car - whoops no GPS. I had managed to leave it on the table when I replaced the cache and left it there in my rush to get on with the next cache. These stations are really neat. TFTC # 18,970
Found on our Rutherglen Mega trip, all logs signed as SPINZ (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Isis58 and Nanzie from NZ). Sorry about the cut and paste logs. TFTC

This is my first trip outside New Zealand caching and enjoyed getting this cache with Team SPINZ tftc
Exploring rural Victoria as part of the SPINZ team: Sidewaze, paddle chick, Isis58 and Nanzie from New Zealand. I’m really enjoying the landscape and seeing what goes on in this neck of the woods. All the different eucalypts, the pepper trees and other interesting plants. The colourful birds, some quite noisy and some very noisy. The many vistas - - beautiful in sunlight and shade. I loved visiting each and every cache and really appreciate the effort required to hide and maintain them. Thanks to the cache owners. Greetings from Aotearoa / New Zealand, happy caching and if you have yet to visit us across the ditch to see what we have to offer, do make sure you enter such a visit on your “to do” list.
Found 12:27 4/3/2023 while taking a break on my way south. Thank you BettyBoo3747 for the cache and bringing me to this location.
Nice and easy drive by on this wet Sunday morning. Funny enough I already signed the log a couple weeks ago on my way from Rutherglen for work, but I forgot to log it here….so here I am finally logging it. Will get around to nailing this trail one day and picking up all the treasures. TFTC BettyBoo3747
Had a nights accommodation booked in Wangaratta as my geohusband had a jet fighter plane flight booked. When the flight was cancelled due to the weather forecast we still made the trip up and hit the rail trail for some caching. This was our first find for the day. TFTC
Easy drive by and walk to others. Great sign for riding in area. Needed this sign at Wangaratta yesterday! Tftc

Some years ago, we had the opportunity to ride the rail Trail from Bright to Wangaratta.
I remember noticing a few geocaches along the Trail, however, riding with the family of all ages we stopped for none.
We are back again, this time for the Wangaratta mega, and while we don’t have our bikes with us, we were very happy to have the opportunity to walk along part of the Trail and collect a few that have been placed here.
We have ridden many rail trails over the last years, and without a doubt this is our favourite.
Thanks BettyBoo3747. It’s great for us to finally collect a few on this great Trail.

Day Four: a bit of everything.
I made a stop here on my way back to Wangaratta for a last couple of caches. A quick find despite a number of possibilities. A goods train went through on the main line while I was here.
Thanks for the cache and series BettyBoo3747.

Last day of our caching trip before having to head home for work tomorrow.
Tankengine, Youban and I have enjoyed our time in Wangaratta and surrounding areas finding caches, attending all the events, playing with the gadget caches and catching up with friends.
It was a spectacular time and we commend the committee and volunteers for all their hard work setting up and running the Mega Event.
This cache: Found quickly as I could see the cache when I walked up to it. But not really noticeable to muggles. Tftc!!!

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and can now cache and explore. Today we headed out early to beat the heat but also we were on a timeframe! A quick find here. TFTC

Out on a sunny winter morning riding the Trail for a Pre-Mega maintenance run. A 20km return trip checking 20 caches and providing maintenance as required. Left some Wangaratta Mega Event cards along the way.
This one was nicely hidden where it should be, but I popped the log into a new plastic bag for easier retrieval.

It took quite a bit of looking and a look back through previous logs before Mr Ski finally said "there it is!" Thankfully she had Mr Ski there to retrieve it for her
Today we loaded up the bikes on the back of the car and traveled a bit further from the caravan park in the pursuit of the elusive yellow smilie! We had identified the rail tray as a great place to start, and with the magnificent weather Wangaratta is putting on for us we were looking forward to the ride. Needless to say we weren't let down. Lovely scenery, interesting spots to stop for a look around, and lots of smilies for us to log. All in all a great ride- 5 km out and back to the car, a bag load of smilies including a multi or two and only one DNF (until we got back to town that is!). Tomorrow we head back home, but would like to say thanks to Wangaratta CO's for the fun they have provided us. Very much appreciated. We will be back, hopefully before the mega for a few days.
