Found with gwd.aussie while on a caching weekend down to Wonthaggi to attend gonefishen07 annual Pre New Year events. Rained overnight and in the morning (in contrast to yesterdays heat) so once it started to clear we headed out. An enjoyable walk to the gz for a quick find by gwd.aussie.
Thanks know-mads

First ever find! Have to venture off the path to find it and make sure to bring your own pen. Never even knew about this reserve so great fun thanks for hiding it!
Suscoe decided to spend a second day visiting the caches of the Inverloch area.
It was significantly different temperature wise today, about 20 degrees cooler in fact.
Clouds accompanied the day, but it kept dry until quite late in the afternoon.
We continued to enjoy finding these caches, a delightful range of hides, containers and locations.
We decided to venture to Wonthaggi for a few caches this afternoon.
A nice walk into this parkland area.
Thanks to the know-mads for another nice hide and a good spot.

Tftc ran into friends along the way that's why I love caching gave them a muggle card to introduce them to caching
Geochild is a keen walker so he navigated to GZ and GeoDad found the cache. Thanks. Silkyie

A nice quick grab on my day of rounding up D/T ratings for my matrix. This one was close to one I needed, so I figured I'd grab it on my way. YouCanDoIt2 tagged along despite having found this one already. She told me this one took her ages, but I had it in seconds. She thinks it has been changed or its hiding place significantly altered. Not sure if that is of interest to the CO, but thought I'd let you know, in case that was not intentional. It is well hidden from muggles, but easy enough for a cacher. There was no pencil inside, but I had my pen anyway. A lovely little park area, thank you for putting a cache here!
Out helping frmen1 get closer to 1000 so we can go interstate again. TB visit.
May have seen one of these containers once or twice before!!
Nice little walk to GZ. Took the wrong path initially, but some bush banishing by some, and a reverse path by others had us there with the cache in hand.

Out with team SkiPair and we made the pleasant walk to this one however it was a bit of a "round and round the melaleuca bush" before Mr Ski discovered a cross country track and we made a find. TNLNSL thanks know-mads for this cache in a pleasant little forest.
Doing some home renovations and had to make a supplies dash to that big hardware chain. Thought I'd tick off a couple more gcs while in town. Warm day, and wary of snakes. Didn't encounter any, and found cache without too much hassle. Nice walk. Tftc.

Last time I looked for this, it seemed impossible. However I just never got to the correct spot. This time I knew where it was, as I was approaching. It just made perfect sense and was found easily.
I tried this today. Did not know this area was there. The GPS had me all over the place. Looked on both sides of the track but could not find it and got bitten by a bull ant which made me give up after about 15 minutes. Will try again another day.
26/09/2014 2.45pm - 3rd for the day - with geogran1937. Left dgfb33 crossword puzzling in the car park. [first found with dgfb33 12/10/2013 before I had joined up]
set off towards GZ with a black cloud overhead. The battery on the GPS went flat before I had gone 50 metres and then it began to rain. I think someone was trying to tell me something. By the time I changed the batteries in the GPS the rain was a bit heavier, but I decided to go on anyway and when I got onto the paths, the undergrowth was so thick that I didn't notice the rain at all. The GPS was jumping all over the place it couldn't make up it's mind even what side of the track I should be searching on, so I ended up following my instincts, which weren't to good today, so it took me quite a while to find this one. I must have walked around and past it a dozen times and I was about to give up when I finally found it and wondered why it had taken me so long.
Nice little stroll through all the tracks to this one with SUlly1 while down this way for the events.

Found @ 4.02pm with Bogonghazy whilst on a Mission to find a Supermarket and got sidetracked caching instead. Thanks to know_mads for this hide.
dgfb - 3.00 pm (2). (with 1 spotter [ceebee2013])
Glad it was dryer weather as footwear would have been a bit muddy after this walk! Would have need rubber boots (a few weeks back in some spots to get to this one (joked about maybe needing waders ?) . Must have been tired ... seemed to take ages to get to this one but only a flash (well a flash and a half) to get back to Golden Whistler Walk sign. Nice walk but think the walkers are getting a bit tired

Found with Thing no1, Thing no2, Gonefishen07 and Zobo04 on a school holidays caching run to clean up a few strays and give Thing no1 some driving experience. Very wet here had to leave geokids along the track like breadcrumbs so they did not get their feet too wet. TFTC SL
Glad I wore the gumboots. Parking a bit boggy too. Cache in good condition. TFTC
This morning we decided to focus on caches in the immediate vicinity of Wonthaggi and visiting them gave us a far better appreciation of the area. It took us a few minutes to find a way to access the area in which this acche was located but having done that, we enjoyed the short walk to GZ. Something different to the rest in the area attracted our attention and the cache was found. The cache and it's contents were in good condition. TFTC know-mads and for giving us a reason to visit this part of Wonthaggi.
With the long weekend, Channel Challenge, Vintage Bikes and Markets on the Island, and the Kilcunda Lobster Festival all on today it was not going to very cache-finding-friendly, so it was a good time to visit the microvial-cache-capital: Wonthaggi. It turned into a most-of-the-day effort getting to each of the caches in and around town (and then a few more on the way home), but it was a good day out.
The walk through the bush, under the shade of the trees crowding the path, was cool and very enjoyable. Upon reaching GZ the GPS indicated it was off the path a bit, so I followed and was soon able to spot the cache in it's hiding spot. The cache was easy to spot since it was uncovered, so I applied some camouflage before leaving.
Left a TB that is trying to get back home (about 30km up the road).

Found at 2:13 PM GAFF2. After 2 approaches to find the best way in, we found the correct route and the cache was just 145 metres away. It was quite hot walking along the path, but then when you walk down the covered path it cooled down considerably.
The GPSr was indicating to search on the path, but then a wider search had to be made.
Thanks know-mads

Before heading east in preparation for 2013, we couldn’t resist the temptation to put a few more smilie faces on our Gippsland map.
Once we found a suitable parking spot we really enjoyed walking thru' this bushland area, of course finding a second cache was really a bonus. Satellites today had our GZ 6m south east of where we located the cache.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt know-mads.

While down at Cape attending the event for the morning, we decided to took advantage of this lovely area to seek out some caches. With Micaparamedic on board we were of for the search. This was one for us as Mica had been here before. I did the walk while the men were left to sort out our next moves (I thought). Having located the cache in quick smart time it was finding my way back that bought me undone. Trust me those fences are electrified.
Thanks for the cache know-mads

We found this cache today at 5:25pm as the 74th of 80 on our Wonthaggi Rail Ride Day.Really enjoyed the ambiance of this spot in the late afternoon. One of my favourite spots of the day. Thanks from D, HA & A B-A.
A bit boggy here today but rain will do that. Saw a familiar sight and that turned out to be the hide. TFTC.
One of 39 caches for the day and 12 night time finds after the dinner / event. Its fair to say that my average find stats dropped in the 3 hours that followed the event, however they were all quality hides and I had a blast working though each challenge.. The walk in was enjoyable, and somehow I picked the most efficient route, however I opted for the other way to get back to the car, the longer route saw me within 40m of where I'd started, however I didn't want to retrace my steps and so had a bush bash to avoid the sensible route... Thanks Know Mads for a great hide.. Find # 2673
The track was a bit soggy today but enjoyed the walk in the swamp. SL Thanks for the cache know-mads. On our way to Gonefishen07 & Hearse068's mid year dinner event tonight.
I've had fun hunting for and finding this cache, It never ceases to amaze me how the CO in the first instance comes up with the idea for placing a cache at this location. After signing the log and then replacing the cache, another find becons me. Thanks know-mads for the cache.
We crossed the rickety stile, and made our way through the peaceful bush, and quickly made the cache find. Nice spot, thanks fr bringing us here.
Hot in the scrub today but luckily a quick find.No pencil so will take one when it cools down a little
Thanks heaps for this cache. It guided us to some nice walking tracks very close to the grandparents place we visit.
One last cache before going home and with the light fading a bit I entered a dark forest! Another micro in the bush with no hints but this one was different - eminently findable, thanks know-mads. A nice walk there and back too.
Found by Mary & David at 1215. A lovely peaceful area. Hope that UBD, mentioned in previous logs, have got it wrong and the area is safe from the developers. We parked at the end of Webb Drive, and were intrigued to see a collection of at least 6 old Kombi Vans there. Another one drove in as we were about to leave, so we assume the rest are there as a source of spare parts. Our thanks again to know-mads.
After a bit of a swamy walk we came to the site of GZ. Whilst looking for the cache Wal stood on a snake. Oh no open your eyes it was only a large Blue Tongue Lizard. Cache found, log signed and replaced. TFTC
Wal thought he'd found the cache but the Blue Tongue Lizard wasn't very co operative when he tried to extract the log! TFTC and the adventure. Be careful as cache has spitfire caterpillar guardians.

Today definitely wasn't a cacher friendly day weather wise as it had been raining all night, everywhere was wet and soggy, and it continued to rain all day today as well. Needless to say I was rather drenched by the end of the days caching and was glad to have some dry clothes in the car for the trip home.
The track leading to GZ was really wet and soggy under foot, but had a nice walk all the same to GZ. Found the cache pretty quickly and signed the log. Thanks for the hide.

This cache was the 16th of a personal best 31 searches (for 29 finds) on a grand day out caching with Robmc
we enjoyed the walk to GZ, although it was damp enough underfoot for 'roo prints to have been left, it wasn't as swampy today as it must've been for earlier cachers
Robmc made the find while I was still crashing my way through the bush
thanks know-mads, I never would've know this spot was here if not for your cache - I hope it'll be safe for some time to come, it's sad to think that if UBD is right they might eventually pave this paradise

We weren't sure what we would see when we arrived, as the UBD map showed proposed roads here. They were not built yet, so it was a nice walk through the paperbarks.
Thanks, Robmc.
Thanks, Robmc.
Wow, how did you find this place... we need to get out more obviously! Neat cache, a few wet socks but otherwise come out unscathed! TFTC Know Mads.
