Travelling with iluvtrekking up the coast of WA to NT and down through the Centre to SA and back home over the Nullabor. After spending a couple of nights in Coober Pedy, we headed twds Woomera picking hides along the route and arrived at RD last night. After a morning trip to Andamooka, we grabbed a few outlying caches around RD. Thanks Namida
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along the way. We have the day to explore Roxby Downs and Andamooka. Thanks for being our guide today Namida.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Namida for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Staying at my son's in Roxby, decided to do some caching, and ended up here with Loopy1972 and grandson in tow. TFTC.
Drove in the night before after a fairly long day driving from east of Wilpena Pound via Porta Gutta , another Vehicle had camped not to far from GZ so I kept driving further around the other side , were I ended up staying , such a great place to pull up for the night and just chill
Waking up early I went for a walk before sun up followed some rather large tracks that had come past camp over night maybe a camel
Cache was found as I drove back out to head to Coward Springs
Thanx for the Adventure Stay Dirty ️

Out and about with Purrfect Di and Jack...
Another great drive in from the long boring highway. 40 plus degrees today...
Fun sandy track, and rewarded at the lake by a spectacular oasis display of water and hundreds of birds appreciating the recent rains!
A great place we would never see if it wasn't for the cache.
Thank you Namida for putting this one out here and sharing this amazing oasis
Fav for the whole experience.

Just love this place. Oh to see it with water. The light was right for a few shots of the trax and flowers in the sand. Just a few drops of water in the bath today.
Thanks to Namida and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
Taking an rdo from work at Olympic dam, with access to a vehicle. Shot out here for an early morning sunrise hike and a cache.
Container and logbook is in good condition..

There wasn’t any water in the lake today. An enjoyable drive through the dunes with a short walk at the end. It was fun to try and guess the animal of the tracks left in the sand. I even think I saw the few rain drops yesterday had left their mark as well. Great spot. TFTC
Left my car at the gate and hoofed I’m on my way back to Woomera. Thanks for bringing me here!
Found while we toured a circuit of the Flinders Ranges, Marree, Roxby Downs, Woomera and Port Augusta for the week, mostly touring the backroads and visiting many scenic and interesting locations. Thanks for the cache Namida!
We've been wanting to drive the Strzelecki Track for a long time so a window of opportunity came up and we were out the gate!! We travelled up the Birdsville Track and down from Innamincka. Had a great time caching and admiring many views of the outback. The only casualty was the windscreen which had a close encounter with a rock on day 3. Got told in Birdsville that it wasn't bad enough to freight another up. Luckily it made it all the way home with the help of duct tape. We found some great views and historical places thanks to geocaching.

Our journey towards Quorn for the SA June Long Weekend continues.
Staying in Woomera to explore the region, today we visited Roxby Downs and Andamooka. An eventful day for us with Mr F losing a fight with a dead tree and also losing our GPSr (subsequently found by some nice caravanning folk)

Another weekend trip that was schemed up with Dr Owl when I found out I was living in Pt Augusta for a short while. The aim of the weekend was to find caches in two LGA areas we'd never previously visited/geocached and to play tourist. This was new territory for Dr Owl and ages since I'd visited parts of it. Needless to say the goals and much more were achieved along side serious laughs and serious discussions. This was an absolutely awesome weekend. We oohed and aahed at the scenery, meet some wonderful friendly people and interesting characters and enjoyed some unique experiences along the way.
We spotted plenty of rabbits on the way to and from and the walk to the cache was interesting. The notices about boating and navigation rules had us laughing when we saw the bone dry lake. It must be spectacular here when the lake is full.
Thanks for the cache Namida.

Day one (officially) of what would turn out to be Owl and Sushilord's best caching trip ever. Not just for the caches (although this one was one of the favourites), the views (for which this one gets a favourite point), the lack of DNFs (see the found log), the laughter, the new phone game Owl introduced the Fish to (sorry Fish!), the fact that neither of them had explored this part of the world before, the LGA challenge cache that is now met and the interesting people they met along the way... or perhaps it was! Owl drove the owlmobile as close as she dared, then a short walk got them to the cache. The lake is currently dry, but it was an interesting sight, all the same.
As expected we drove past the gate , so hacked a u-ee and over the dunes we went .
The lake was dry today, but we remember when the locals were making trips to Adelaide to buy boats to float out here .
TNLNSL.
A great spot most people wouldn't even considering visiting - if not for a cache .
Thanks Namida.

What a great spot!
After completing my unfound caches around Woomera, I headed off on my own to cache around Roxby Downs, Olympic Dam and Andamooka.
I arrived at Lake Mary and found the cache not long before the sun set. It looked like a great place to camp, so I ended up rolling out the swag there overnight. It was lovely to see the full moon rise over the dry lakebed in the evening, then the sun rise over the lake in the morning.
The elements had affected the cache and the container was beginning to break down, the zip-lock bag was turning to powder and the logbook was damp from the rain the night before. I replaced the container and the plastic bag; the logbook should be OK for a bit longer now. However, the new, temporary container is a little flimsy and will need to be replaced with something a bit more permanent in time.
Thanks Namida for the cache. A favourite point from me.

28.04.18 tftc no water sports today as per photo, very dry and soft sand, needed the 4WD in one section, the cache is very brittle and I didn’t have anything in the car to replace it, so if the next person out here could bring something that would be great
As we made our way through the outback finding caches and having a great time
we found a range of caches some day with Team Cracker, Felix II and firesafe on the way home.
Thanks to Namida for placing the cache for us to find.

Found it on 10/06/2017 on our visit to avoid the cold rain in the home state.
Catching up on unlogged caches that we have done. Apologies for the late entry found around 24/6/2015. The last time we were here the lake was full of water and black swans that honked all night. We had a lovely sunrise to add to the atmosphere. This time we had rain for most of the night which mad for an interesting time. We were with muggle friends who are slowly trying to understand this weird asstime. We replaced the container and covered it well with natural camo to help keep the sun off the new container. Left some trinkets too.

Heading from Woomera toward William Creek or Coward Springs we were picking up a cache here and there, this being one of them. Lake Mary was quite dry today but we've experienced salt lakes before and weren't going to test the waters so to speak The track in was quite good albeit a little corrugated but the last descent toward the camp area was quite soft and boggy - note to self in a fully laden GoGoPrado. We took a nice stroll along the shoreline to GZ and found the cache all dry although the log book looked to have been damp at some stage - no problem adding our signature today though. Thanks for bringing us out to Lake Mary Namida - saw some kangaroos and lots of animal tracks which suggests this area is popular for many. Cheers [^]
Nice easy drive to this one today with not too much walking. There definitely won't be any water activities today! Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
Doubt that I will be taking a swim today. Nice easy find. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
Toured the Woomera - Roxby Downs area today and found a cache or two. This was one of them. TFTC

Tip: Don't drive too close to it unless you have awesome sand driving skills.
Took L'il Pony. Left Golf ball.
The cache has been maintained by someone and is now is a dark green omega 3 bottle. It's well hidden so you have to look hard.

From the locals "The Kokatha Pastoral Corporation has now commenced Pastoral operation on the Roxby Downs, Purple Downs and Andamooka Stations. This Pastoral Operation will include both Sheep and Cattle. To ensure the safety of both our staff and livestock access to these three properties is now prohibited. All previous approvals are now cancelled. This includes motorbike riding and recreational activities. Access to Lake Mary is also temporarily suspended. Trespassers will be reported to the Roxby Police. The Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation are currently identifying areas that can be utilized for recreation. Enquires can be directed to adminkokatha.com.au"
This cache was here when we last visited Roxby Downs three years ago but we did not attempt it. We decided to give it a go this time. Knew the campervan wasn't going to make it so unloaded the road/trail bike and headed off on that. Took a cut lunch which we had at the camp area before detouring off on a side track to grab this cache. Despite the recent rain in the area the lake was still dry. Thanks.
After stopping to photograph some local desert peas we ventured here and we're not disappointed.
A beautiful location for a cache! SL TFTC and bringing us here, loved it!

Zoomed straight past the gate for this one, before we realised that was the way in! An interesting sandy track at times. Luckily the only car we encountered was on the way out at a wider section.
We parked about 150m from the gz and had a nice little stroll to the cache, observing all the animal tracks in the sand as we went.
This a great spot to camp, even without the lake being filled.
The repairs on cache are doing their job. We didn't have a suitable replacement on board sorry.

This was our ( Mrs one-eyed ) and my last cache in the Roxby Downs district so off went went to this location.
After re- reading the Description and looking at our Garmin Montana, I drove a little further down the road.
After finding the gate, and a 4WD track stopped and a short walk found the cache.
The container is still there and in good condition.

Found by Team GeoCoopers.
A quick find after a bit of a 4WD in. The plastic lid of the cache container crumbled in my hands having been exposed to the elements. Container done up best I could with the electrical tape that I had on me.
*** Next visitor to please take a replacement container ***
Thanks Namida.

I was lucky to find the turnoff to this one, as it’s not real obvious and not marked on the map I was using. Nice bit of road into Lake Mary, and I decided to lock in the hubs just to be safe.
Although it’s as dry as a chip now, it’s not hard to see that it would be a nice spot with some water around. Found the cache after a few minutes search. TNLN. Cheers.

After getting bogged and then un-bogged, we had a go at finding the cache without any luck. We'll try again when our busted GPS is fixed. The app on the phone is just not accurate enough. Pretty spot though.
After completing our 2nd trip around Australia, we are now heading towards Alice Springs.
Left the caravan at Pimba road house, and headed for Roxby Downs and beyond.
It took us a while to find the track to GZ, and we walked the last 50m.
The cache was found quickly, and we added extra camo to protect it from the sun.
T: pathtag, L: horse. Many thanks for the hunt today, Namida.

I was headed up to Port Augusta for a kayak event but somehow afterwards I forgot to stop driving.
1,700kms later and after 83 smileys including 1 FTF were locus cache'd, 1 event attended and sadly 7 DNFs and a dead roo, I arrived back home with both the camera and the phone full of pictures of this amazing country in which we live .
This was fun to get into and a very pretty spot once I had!
I stopped short of the cache as I was on my own and didn't want to get bogged with the sun going down.
Lovely area and interesting to see bird, roo and snake trails in the sand while walking to the cache so I trod very carefully since I only had sandals on!
Would love to see this filled but it sure was purty anyways! [^]

Enjoyed a nice walk to GZ after driving down the windy track, lake was dry today but plenty of wildflowers TFTC

Great view of the lake container is broken but we put all contents in a bag as we didn't have a spare container. Tftc
As previous finders have said, this needs a new container rather badly, even though it's only been out for 15 months. In fact, there's no lid left & the box is in bits but logbook & swaps are still there & in OK condition. Elements are pretty harsh out here. Sorry - always a bugger when you don't have a spare container handy.
The cache, since replaced by that great cacher Freddo, literally crumbled in our hands no matter how gently we held it. The lake was a salt bed. Saw plenty of signs of life but they were all taking shelter elsewhere. Thanks Namida
funny after 11 months of no finders and cache container fell apart just from the UV

Another 1st to find today - having a lucky run.
Access track in good nick, did not need to go into 4x4 at all.
Great to see Lake Mary back to her near best and looking great. Pity the bloody campers and locals cant take home their rubbish and broken bottles.
Cache in good nick, dropped in a Silver Shark bottle opener and picked out the TB - "No Kangaroos in Austria", will move on down south.
Thanks Namida, I hope this cache stays healthy here for a long long time.
A must for all who like a pleasant surprise, taking in a fresh water lake out bush.
