Logs
Time to close this one down. We don't live out that way anymore, so collected the remains today on a passing trip.

TFTF, needs urgent attention. The log is saturated & turned to pulp. Unable to sign so added a photo to prove we were here.

There had been some rain before we got to this one and the ground was a bit muddy.
Found the GC but it was damp and worn.
I left the area 6 inches taller with the mud on my shoes.

Missed to stop, thought the part would be more than a shrub. Turned around and walked in to log the cache

The paper was getting ripped and it was hard to get out of the container. There was a little bit of water in it to but it was still lots of fun.
Day 5 of my 2015 cache holiday and found 29 for the day with some walking involved but only drove 345 K's today. Did not plan on going into Rockhampton at all but I started looking at what I had inn my caching plan for today and just knew I would not make Biloela so started looking for motel accommodation but with a choice of Mt Morgan or Rocky due to the distance to each Rocky won out.
#23 of 29 not in any particular order and definitely not in order found.
Parked safe off the road and after a short walk soon had the container. The grass is a little long in places. TFTC B6undyrumandcoke.

TFTC!! Originally came from the east, and couldn't stop anywhere. Noticed an area to park about 400m west of the cache, right off the highway. Walked around the fence and through the bush to the cache. Added some walking, but a lot safer.
In through the long grass past the spiders by the sign into relatively open country of the park where the grass was practically non-existent, thankfully. It didnt take log to spot a likely hide. Found at 4.25 pm on 30th May 2015. TFTC.
We have been staying in Sapphire for a few days and decided to head east towards Blackwater to try to log some of the caches along the highway and in Blackwater itself. We had already grabbed those that we could find as far as Emerald.
We decided to tackle those on the left hand side of the road on the way in and then vice versa on the way back to Sapphire
This was our first find for the day. We grabbed our hiking sticks to give us something to beat the grass with in the hope of moving along any undesirables before we stepped on them
We have been surprised at all the long grass along the roadsides since we crossed into Queensland and wonder if it is left to feed cattle travelling along stock routes?? Plenty of nice fat cattle everywhere we go at the moment but see many being trucked around the place so not sure if stock routes are used at all anymore other than for special 'event' type droves.
In our home state of SA nearly all roadside verges are slashed continuously to help in the event of a bushfire.
Anyway, after only about five metres of long grass we were soon into the Conservation park with very little undergrowth and the cache was very soon found
Many thanks for the hide Bundyrumandcoke[^]

Spent the night at Theresa dam with about fifty other vans. We are now heading East and homebound picking up a few smilies along the way.
Thanks Bundyrumandcoke
Thanks Bundyrumandcoke
After visiting Emerald, we are now travelling east towards the coast, for warmer weather.
This was almost a drive by cache, which was found in good condition.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Bundyrumandcoke, for us and others to find.

Heading from Clermont to Rocky today, stopping to look for caches along the way.
Such an intersting variety, in some great locations.

Found with Drillerboy86. This is a closed in shoe cache. The spiny acacia got me, ouch. Good walk to the cache if you park on the BMA easement entrance. Nice easy cache.
Found with Envirogirl86. Was fairly easy once we worked out where we were going. Tftc
Found it easily with KristineFalla, charlieashton2 and crfrob on a trip to Blackwater Int. Coal Centre. KristineFalla and I are "down under" for three weeks, so we had to do some caching every now and then. TFTC! Greetings from Norway!
After reading the last log in regards to difficulty parking I just thought stuff it and drove the work truck right up to the fence. Parking problem solved!!
After that it was a quick find after a short stroll in a surprising remnant of local bush.

An easy find once I worked out the correct procedure for parking the geomobile
My first attempt ended up with the geomobile tilited at about 40 degrees [:o]
Which was comforting in a way, because I now know that the geomobile is capable of doing that without ending up on it's side
Careful where you park people [^]
Once I had cimbed out of the geomobile it was an easy stroll to GZ and a snake free find [^]

After avoiding the bees at another Blackwater cache, a bloody wasp got me in the middle of the back! Never would have guessed there was a conservation park here. TFTC!
Another stop on way back to Emerald today.
Short walk to GZ & search began.
Where are you - you should be there but no show.
Moved to change view perspective to no avail.
About to give up when I glanced down & realised I was almost standing on container lying out in the open
Log soon signed ad container restored to it's rightful spot (I hope based on previous logs)

Thanks again to Bundyrumandcoke for the cache

Found with rje1. Driven cars and trains past here a million times and didn't know this was here.
TFTC.
Found. Quite difficult to retreive but with a bit of poking around and sticking arms in places that I really didnt want to stick my arm in we manged to get it.
Didnt put back in exact place we found it as unsure if it was meant to be there, but still at exactly the same coordinates.

I don’t consider this to be a DNF, as the Cache location was already occupied with a Possum and I was not going to disturb it. It did give me a fright of note, Looking into the location I had this very slow moving pair of eyes look back at me! I Jumped back and had to look again to make sure it was not some tricky cache container but it moved again and that was enough for me...
If I am in the area again I will try again!

9416 kms travelled in 21 days, one awesome eclipse observed near Mt Carbine in Northern Queensland and 712 cache finds, including a small handle of FTF's.
This was a trip I'd been planning for over 12 months with the main reason being to observe the solar eclipse on the morning of the 14th of November. I had decided to drive to Palm Cove and back, where my penthouse accommodation was located, while the rest of the family flew up and back. I love the drive and the unknown adventures that lay ahead; and I even think the last time I did one this big may have been for the previous eclipse in Australia which occurred over SA.
Apart from the great experiences, awesome scenery, and the characters met, the other reason to drive was to also do some serious caching, with the plan to stop at some power trails along the way including the Fruit Run and A.S. series near Stanthorpe on the way up and the Mid North Coast Wander series, just out of Port Macquarie, on the way back.
I had five days to travel each way with ten days in between spent in Palm Cove holidaying with my family. My route up took me from Melbourne to Tocumwal and up to Glenn Innes, through Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the coast road to Cairns while my route back was a bit more erratic. Heading from Cairns to Townsville then via Charters Towers to Rockhampton. From here it was through the amazing mining region to Roma then across to Dalby down through Stanthorpe (again) to Armidale, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Tocumwal and then home - phew.
Today I traveled near and far. After spending the night in Comet I traversed the Capricorn Highway across to Rockhampton and up to Yepoon and then headed south on the Burnett Highway through Mt Morgan and onto the Leichhardt Hwy to Banana, continually traveling south before diverting to Roma where I spent the night.
I parked along the side of the road and trekked my way into GZ. The sign was a little worse for wear at the entrance to the way in but I enjoyed the walk in. A little tricky to retrieve the cache and I had to use some bush tools but got there in the end. Thanks for the hide.

Found the spot ok.
While signing the log I smelt the sweet smell of honey.
Had a look and just up above in the tree was a Bee hive.
I wasn't sure if they were bush bee's or those nasty surburban ones that sting so I left them alone.
Sined the log and thought time to get out just in case.

The hide is now occupied by an agressive swarm of flying "insects". Fortunately once they perceive no immediate threat they return to the nest. Managed to sign the log and return it without a bite. TFTC.
easy find, one I negotiated the long grass,I am getting quite a phobia about snakes. tftc
Tricky little hide very clever, luckily the GPS was on the ball today and went Straight to it. TFTC
Found it No. 3836 ... nice hide, u always come up with something different ... TNLN ... TFTC Bundy
#FTF# No.6 find on a days cache dash out west and one of the reasons for making the trip. Bundy came along on the ride to this one for entertainment. His not mine. TFTC
