Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are now based in Robe, exploring the wild coastline and beautiful countryside. TFTC. ?? LNCU
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Robe for a few days to grab some find. Drizzly winters day as we range from Robe to outlying areas. Thanks for the hide. LNCU??
A lovely old ruin and well worth an explore.Nice hide here. Many thanks. Found this morning with Featherdown
With feathertop today Penola bound on day 6 of our SA adventure. Finding heaps of great caches on this trip.Cheers
Another cache steeped in history, and a brilliant place to stop and discover a cache, while a farmer was feeding out in the adjacent paddock - it is dry and bare here for sheep at the moment. They were super keen on that tractor full of hay! Another straight forward find, the cache was located quickly and easily. All good at GZ. Log signed, ninja left to guard things, and replaced as found. Thanks for bringing us here, cabbos!
Travelling today to the geoart of Millicent. Plenty here today. Just a couple before we get started.Caching with and signing as 6 for QLD. RoddyC hatzofff imbunda snickersallan grannysmith1947 and echocage1.TFTCache cabbos
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 6 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future.
TFTC smile 18726 out and about on a lovely day having a great time finding a few caches heading to Mt Gambier for a few days on our way to Canberra today signing as 6 for Qld Hatzofff Snickersallan RoddyC Imbunda , what a great team we made and lots of laughter and fun Thank you cabbos for placing this cache for our enjoyment
A February Mega brought us to Adelaide. Our group is traveling together and signing logs as 5 for QLD.Today we journey from Adelaide to Mount Gambier. We came and browsed, as instructed.Log signed and cache replaced as found on 12 March 2024. TFTC, cabbos.
off on a jaunt to the south east and enjoying its beautiful scenery and experiencestoday the weather is cool and overcast so we decided to focus on driving and views from the car. maybe a winery / eatery or two?of course if i can get my muggle partner to stop for a cache i happily take the bonus!tftc cabbosand bringing me to this specific spot

This was a fun little find. I have driven past these ruins for years, so it was great to have an explore. Thanks for the cache.
My 1st cache for 2022. Awesome ruins that I have driven past for over 40 years. Thanks for bringing me here.
Post geoventure caching with Sebastbat, Jack, and Froghoppin, along the journey home.
Found a bunch of caches, including this one A nice piece of history here.
Thanks for putting this cache out on the SE SA geomap cabbos

All the Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck!
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

This one was a good one. The whole family was searching excitedly when mum found it.
Dad may or may not have got the sad’s on because he didn’t find it.

TFTF! Took us forever to find this one. Had actually given up and was walking back to the car when I saw it out of the corner of my eye. Thanks for making us stop at this awesome location!
After awhile of not geocaching, this one probably took longer than it probably should have!! Thanks for the hide, beautiful spot too!!
Our Easter Beachport holiday is over so we made the trek home to Ballarat. I managed to convince the family to stop for one or two caches. Easy find here in great location. Thanks for the cache.
Love old ruins, have photographed this one in the past! Just thought I'd grab a cache or two while working in the neighbourhood!

This weekend, I headed to the Limestone Coast / south-east for cave diving, but also to find a few geocaches when time allowed. It was only a quick weekend travelling to Mt Gambier via Bordertown on Friday, and returning Sunday via Millicent and Kingston. I was able to fit in a visit south to Port MacDonnell on Saturday, and a few other small detours around Mt Gambier.
Today, I returned back towards Adelaide, detouring through Glencoe, Mount Burr, Millicent, Furner, Kingston, but then back tracking towards Keith due to a grass fire cutting off the Coorong Road.
I remember seeing this multi-cache on my may for some time, and was intrigued to see the inn here. I actually thought the old building ruins were really interesting and cool. I actually spent ages here trying to find this cache without any hint. Initially, I was fixated on staying behind the fence on the outside of the property, and also trying to find a cache type that the CO seems to like to hide. I then realised that I was able to go in, and follow the coordinates. When I was just about to give up, I spotted the sneakily hidden container (and the size was correct). The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks cabbos for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A hint would definitely have been helpful, or otherwise perhaps the difficulty rating should be increased?

I had come down to Millicent for the long weekend and today it was organised to come caching with gridge98 and it turned into a big day with 74 caches found. [^] We started in Millicent headed towards Rendelsham, Southend and Beachport where we grabbed some lunch before making our way to Furner. Had a fun day finding lots of different caches with a few high terrain ones which is always a bonus for me.
We had to wait for the muggles to leave but we had already sussed out the hide so it was a quick find after they left.
Thanks for the cache cabbos.

It was like a stand off here, we thought some people were geocachers till JJ52 asked them but they were muggles
JJ52 found the cache and it’s all good
Today JJ52 and I set out from Millicent together to find all the caches around south end and beachport, we thought it would take all day but we were done by lunch time so we headed over to kangaroo inn to find all the caches in the area before attending my event back in town. Almost 80 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Headed out with Sylken today for a full on FREEZING day out and about! The plan was to collect more smilies before the wet weekend but we also collected some sad faces too today.
Not all caches were as they first seemed.
Thanks for bringing us to this great historic location. Fave point from us.

Back down to Mount Gambier with Mogni. She wanted to do mainteneance on some of her caches. We took the inland road down there and stopped at every cache i hadn't found and cleaned up some of the newly published caches for her. We even got a unexpected joint ftf on the way.
Reset with new log book. A lovely day out with hevwalker and my grandies; the kids were so excited to go caching and had some great ideas where caches could be found and placed when we were finding places for new caches for the GeoVenture2020 at Easter in Millicent along the way between finds. TFTC.
Found It!
A nice spot with lots of history. Finding the cache took a bit longer than it should have, partly because I kept getting distracted reading the info signs!

The seas were not conducive to fishing, so we needed something to do. A country caching trip from Southend to Millicent (for petrol), Kangaroo Inn, Robe (for lunch) and then back to Southend via Beachport was planned targeting a couple of caches for Fizzy Grids and some Jasmer grid gaps also. We finished with 5 finds, 1 DNF, lots of kms and some great photos.
Great historic site and we had fun exploring the ruins. Unfortunately we couldn’t find the cache and so are logging a DNF. We sent a message to the CO with a couple of photos that confirmed we were looking in the right spot, but the cache has been muggled.
Still a great spot for a visit.

We actually stopped off to just look at the ruins before checking to see if there was a cache here. Interesting bit of history. TFTC
Enjoyed looking at the old ruins, then we spotted the cache. Interesting history. TFTH

Our last day in SA for this trip, we followed a course set by Suscoe, to catch up with as many jointly unfound caches as possible, before retreating back east across the border tomorrow.
After an extensive search and double checking all the possibilities, we contacted the CO and exchanged directions, then photos which confirmed the cache had gone. Very generously the CO suggested we put a temporary container in place until they can replace the cache.
Thank you very much cabbos.
Thanks 'cabbos' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Suscoe and Phetlern headed out early today to the crunch of frost everywhere we looked.
A sunny day followed and we enjoyed the wandering around the north west of Millicent.
Some controlled burns further to the north east later in the morning provided a brown cloud streaming to the west and occasionally dropping ash on us as we crossed the farmlands.
This was our last day of caching in this area before heading homewards.
Thanks to the cabbos for this hide, we arrived and did quite a few laps checking out this and that.
We contacted the CO after sometime and found out the the cache had gone missing in action.
So with permission we have left a replacement container and temporary log. Thanks for that!!
What a delightful old Inn.

We found a poison dart frog and we’re leaving an AFL footy card. Love the ruins!
Found early afternoon with the geo-crew as we began our long journey home from the Limestone Coast. First find of the year as well so another 399 to go to get to my annual target. Many thanks cabbos
Nice bit of history. Also good to see that whole classes have been out geocaching. Tftc
Owl loves a bit of history. She and Mrs Rat spread out to try and find the cache, but it was the Rat's beady eyes that made the find.
Day Two of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I headed towards Robe from Hamilton.
Got up late-ish and slowly made our way across to SA, caching as we found them on our trail.
What great ruins! A pile of very small rooms made up this building. We spent some time nipping in and out of them.
Quite a checkered history to the usage of the building too.
Good to see it still standing after so long.
Thanks, Robmc.

#11561. Day 2 of our holiday and today Robmc and I head from Hamilton, over the border and on to Robe for a few days. Naturally we stopped to find a few caches along the way.
I do love South Australian ruins (I would prefer they weren't ruins of course)! Love the stone work. At least this historic site is still here and accessible. Found the cache whilst Rob was wandering. Thanks for highlighting this old inn.

A bit trickier than our other finds so far, but good fun. The ruins are more interesting than we expected too! TFTC
Out for the day with hevwalker & CPwanderer.
An interesting building with some great historic points.
We spent longer than usual checking over the buidling.
Thanks for the cache & for the history lesson Carbbos
