My objective for today was simple, to find my geocache find number 6666. However, I had a number of other side tasks too. To collect more clues for the 'Nice Day for a Cache' and the '13th Cache'. To find more caches to help with challenges I am working on. Specifically, oldies, multicaches, a DT of 2.5/2.5, and of course an Event and CITO on this month and on the 25th. A good day out with no DNFs, 4 Lab locations, and 26 geocache finds. This one has been on my list for too long. I'm glad that it hasn't rained for a while because this path was very muddy already. The sound of the water was refreshing while strolling to GZ. once I started looking at the right fallen tree, it didn't take too long to find. Thanks for the cache, A Homburg.Hunter
I needed to clear my head after a full-on week, so I headed for the bush. It was so enjoyable to walk and cache in the Dandenongs today. A pleasant walk to GZ, where someone has been very busy with a large chainsaw. I picked my way through the blocks, and inspected a few likely spots before finding the cache very nicely tucked away indeed. TFTC, the walk, and for bringing me to a spot I've never been before ahomburg
This is such a beautiful walk with a fern filled forest. We easily followed the geo trail in, but with god a bit jumpy ended up bushbashing around a bit. We were at the point of giving up when we reassessed the most obvious potential site and hey presto there it was! Found by mugglemate!
And we saw a lyrebird between this one and the last! Log was dry and made a swap! Thankyou!!

Well…you could technically say I walked approximately 20km to get to this cache…and that would actually be true. Stopped by this one during completing the Oxfam Trailwalker 100km event today, and this was a great little stop to make in a beautiful part of the forest.

Hot one today so steady stroll to collect a few caches. Great hiding spot and as always a chance for a rest before starting a climb! TFTC
Dammit-kids win again! Oldies are down 2-1. Thanks Richie for a brilliant cache. Very very cool. X
Good geocache. Lovely stand of ferns. The co-ordinates on the app are good and the hint is helpful if you need it.
After a previous DNF, I was very happy to see the cache had been replaced and was able to grab it before it started pouring with rain.
This time wasn’t so difficult with the new container in place - I needed a break from my mba studies and on a glance of the map, this cache was the destination with a Belgrave coffee to collect on the way back. The distinctive puffing billy sounds as a background noise enhanced the experience. tftc
Thankful that this wasn't much of a hill. A little slippery with all the seepage from the hill but with perfect coords, the cache was quickly found. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
An after-work caching expedition with Geoturtle37.
Wasn’t too much of a hill - thank goodness. Found location with bang on coordinates. Signed the nice fresh clean logbook and noted the clue. Another one of the series ticked off the list. Looks like I only have 4 plus the final to go.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, ahomburg

Trekked out to the back of Belgrave for this one on the hopes that aid succeed where others had not.
Sadly, I couldn't find this one, and the location indicated by the clue was empty and barren.

Fair bit of rain in the last day, so everything was quite soggy. As somebody else said, there are lots of potential hidey holes. Found it after a short search. The log was very wet even inside its plastic bag, but after finding a space to sign, I managed to make my mark without tearing the paper.

*Cache find # 12528.*
For some reason this one has been sitting there not found by me so today I made the effort to head to this one some that I can finally make the find.
I was heading along the main trail wondering where the best place would be to start heading bush when I came across a nice little trail that took me straight to GZ, shortly after the cache was found.

Nope. Checked lots of spots, did lots of scrambling and for very wet feet, but no luck today.
A strange find...
Immediately after logging a DNF, I was navigating my way back to the track having spent a lot of scrambling around in difficult conditions looking for this in places that matched the map and the hint but not the coordinates. I was a bit confused as a certain major feature on the did not seem to be where it was shown. This also meant the cache was not where the map was indicating and was getting closer, rather than further away.
It seems that while I was having a hard time searching where it looked to my eyes like the cache should be and assuming the GPS was playing up among the trees, I could have been having a much easier time and just following the GPS.
Armed with this new perspective I soon found something that matched the hint and searched with confidence. It still took a little while and required looking where I was expecting to, but I found it. A little damp, but serviceable.
Phew! TFTC

It certainly was a nice day for a cache, and a lovely area for a walk. We could see straight away from the track where we needed to go, and it was just of matter of time before the cache was uncovered, snug as a bug, in its hidey hole. The container was wet, but logbook fine (even remembered to collect the clue).
Thanks ahomburg for a chance to stretch the legs and bringing us to this area.

Couldn't find this one after a good day of caching. It doesn't seem to be here. However I did find the described canister at another spot within another cache location?
Found on a beautiful crisp day with the sun dancing off the tree ferns and the smell of hours old milk wafting from the baby attached to my front.

Well I didn’t expect to find this one given a few DNFs.
A good 10 minutes and it was time to start searching in a bit more unlikely spots. After a bit of gardening and to my very surprise the cache was found.
Clue obtained.
All in good condition here.

Out for a walk with DebW64 on a beautiful Saturday morning, we were really impressed with the great tracks on the circuit, and all the friendly smiles from fellow walkers.
Thanks for another reason to see a new part of Vic Adrian

Found this many years ago but never got the clue did I !! So tonight out I came and possibly looked in all the same wrong trees as last time. But at least now I have the clue.
Thanks to ahomburg for the placement and fun.

As I had the day off work today, I decided to find some caches I have been meaning to do for quite a while.
This one is not a regular, it's a small which took a while to find because my GPS was directing me to other places and I was searching for a larger container!

Nice walk just before sunset with various birds chattering away. Rain had been forecast, but hadn’t eventuated. Nice quick find. TFTC
Found with the geofriend on a winter stroll. Lots of lyrebirds out today. TNLN and didn't sign as we came unprepared without a pen. TFTC!
Nice day for a Cache? Yes, its always a nice day for a cache! Nice day for a walk? Probably not! It was pouring all day today and the track was an absolute bogheap - but it was lovely and green and the birds were chirping! At GZ I searched for quite a while, with GPS being unrealiable, but finally found it thanks to the hint. TFTC!
This really was a nice day for a cache and with the added bonus of seeing a lyrebird scratching around, (who was not bothered by us snooping around) it turned into a great day. Thanks ahomburg
A really Nice walk along the trail from the designated parking spot .As we detoured off the trail to reach GZ we were fortunate enough to spot a Lyrebird . Eventually got to the cache and had the log signed . Thanks ahomburg.
Today was one of those cooler mid-Summer days that are not to be wasted with staying at home.
The family decided that Hiking from Grants Picnic Ground down and around the big loop was the aim today so we headed off in search of some caches.
A nice cool little spot in the middle of Summer.
Cheers ahomburg, thanks for showing us this spot.

Just found it as our second geocaching ever and very happy. Stunning walk with loads of wildlife around on the walk.
Nice walk. A bit eery at GZ. Happy the resident wombat didn’t come out to greet me either. TFTC.
This was the first cache of the day, on my mission to complete this series. I enjoyed my walk in this lovely area, which I never would've discovered if it wasn't for Geocaching. The coords were spot on and like paultheball before me, I spotted a lyrebird on my way out.
Thanks ahomburg!
Thanks ahomburg!
Not many muggles around today - a benefit of a quiet NYE! Found easily, though needed the hint because of the tree cover. Cache is in good condition. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache!
What a cute hidey spot! Hope some cheeky animal won't think it nuisance and kick it out and make a burrow in the place
Lovely area and we have been walking here for quite a long time before looking for caches. Great find! TFTC!

This was our first try at geocaching. We had a lovely 8km hike. it took us a while to figure out where it was. But wasnt too hard too get too, although the kiddo ended up falling over and now has some battle scars ..lucky i brang bandaids! But it was fun and yay we found it!
#3/8 of my Shermbrook forest day walk. This one was difficult as I first went to a wrong location by a very bushy way Then geotracks took me right. I spotted some lovely parrots near the cache, they letted me to come 2 m close! There is a big holey at the cache, but it was flooded after the recent rains, so no one lives in. Thanks for a very nice cache.
Great spot for a winter's walk! Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache
Top location here Ahomburg. There were a few other walkers about, and why wouldn't you on a 20 degree Autumn Sunday?
I ventured in towards GZ and heard a bit of scratching. Aha! Lyrebird! So I headed back out to grab the camera. Tricky to capture in low light but I did manage to grab one almost-in-focus pic.
It's pretty amazing to think I spent a lot of my formative years in Warburton, walking various tracks (pre-geocaching), but never saw a Lyrebird. One cold morning along the Acheron pass I saw one swoop across the road but that was it. Then when I start geocaching I see them quite regularly around the Dandenong ranges!
Oh yeah, cache was found in good condition. I had to use the hint because I didn't fancy spending 20 minutes searching around here (and disrupting the native inhabitant). Thanks Ahomburg for the nice little walk and great location.

Not quite a park & grab, but not too far off it.
Was just a little way down the hill, and inspired by the reactivation of the Lake cache, so this was an obvious side-trip to make.
Arrived at the parking area to find a chain fence in my path, however upon further examination that's just meant to keep the cars out. So on I traipsed, past the wobbly bridge to the T intersection.
In stark contrast to normal finding technique, actually stayed on the path til the right point, a minimum of bush bashing and used the hint appropriately, choosing the right object first-time.
Was startled by a wallaby hopping past at speed, but returned to the hunting task, changing angle and approach just a little and being rewarded with the cool find.
Zero scratches, no blood shed, no wasted time, and even remembered to grab the number to help with the final of the series. TFTC AHomburg.

Good team effort with debleenich, found after a fair bit more bush bashing than necessary.
Managed a straight forward find this afternoon while out grabbing a few caches in the area. I made my way into the gz after initially walking through some long undergrowth but the area cleared a fair bit and once I began searching was pleasantly surprised to located the cache in the second place I looked. Thanks ahomburg for the hide and for showing me this area.
