Well that was a long trek but really enjoyable. Thanks Purplepeopleeater for a fun cache. Found with Stephw_01 and the geodog!
Ticked off ?
I’ve been meaning to find these for the longest time. I love night caches. But I’ve never found the time to get it. I always get reminded during Summer, but think I should find it during winter as it’ll be darker earlier and less chance of snakes.
All that aside, I finally decided to go find one of these night caches, accompanied by DBJ. Decided to just hunt one today, to save the other ones for another day.
Parked at GZ, and it was already really dark. I was the only one with a real torch, the others were pretty dodgy, so it made it difficult for everyone to traverse the unstable rocky path.
Loved the journey, these trails make perfect nigh cache hides as there are lots of side paths, and they never end. We enjoyed where we were taken. At the points we had to guess a direction, we got lucky every time, and there was only one point where we doubted where we were heading, but eventually saw the reflector a bit further along.
At GZ, we signed the log, and left some SWAG.
On the way home, we noticed the Showground Markets were on, and decided to drop by.

Out night caching with Its_Dozzie in this lovely bit of bushland. We followed the tacks, only occasionally stopping to check we were on the right trail a couple of times. We got there in the end and found the final prize. Lucky ID had the spidey-stick with him as there were a few beauties spread across the track.
A nice way to end the evening clearing out the night caches and a few others along the way. We were pretty tired by the end and despite some kids in the distance trying to spook us with there "scary" calls we weren't put off. I must come back here in the day time to appreciate the bush. Have a FP. TFTC

After finding Bidgigal night cache #3, Team Canary headed off to the mountains and Brewmaker and I continued to find the next one.
By now it was dark and we occassionally had to dodge a big spider web.
After zig-zagging our way through the bush we found the three markers and had cache in hand!

Replaced missing reflectors and checked other firetacks.
All good to go!!

The cache container is still in place but a lot of the reflectors have gone.
I plan to reinstate all the reflectors and re-enable the cache this week.

**long log alert. Tldr: great fun to do in the middle of the night with friends. Would have been too chicken if I was solo.**
Have had my eyes on PPE’s night Bidjigal night caches for a year now, and after seeing the recent finds from 4Rods & RooMar, I thought ‘what the heck, there’s no better time’.
Initially I had planned on doing this just prior to sunset so that it wouldn’t be pitch black (I’m not very brave in solo bush bashing scenarios), but one of my buddies who I drag along to cache with me was keen to come along, so we thought we’d have a crack at both caches closer to midnight.
We commenced our journey at 10.45pm. Thank heavens I had a buddy with me, plenty of large spiders (mostly garden orbs, still terrifying) had settled in their webs for the night.
In regards to the reflectors, they were always comforting to see. There wasn’t as many as we would have liked for reassurance purposes, but hey, we got there in the end! There was what felt like a very long stretch without any reflectors, which did have us a little worried, but just as we thought we might have missed something and got ready to turn around, we spotted another one - phew!
When we saw the 2 vertical reflectors, we took a moment to figure out how best to begin the search - we expected the 3 ‘triangle’ arranged reflectors to be missing, so we knew that would be no help. Geosense suggested that we could ignore searching one side of the path based on the circumstances of the cache, so we committed to doing a search on the other side. As we slowly walked up praying that we wouldn’t run in to any spiders, we spotted something that looked like a good landmark to search. We carefully headed over to it, searched around it, and bingo - there it was.
Was great to see the 10 year old log, and great to find this night cache - fears were conquered tonight. We took some photos of the log, made our way back to the path, and headed back to commence the second night cache (we weren’t as successful with cache 2). On the way back, we took a different path so we'd be closer to the second cache start point, and we thought we saw 2 reflectors - which turned out to be a possums eyes!
Thanks so much to PPE for the amount of effort it would have taken him setting this cache up, fantastic to see it still standing 10 years on.

I was hoping for something special for my 300th find, and with this cache I got it. It took me back to my childhood and the fun and serenity of night hikes. It’s a beautiful walk with plenty of opportunistic spiders making webs across the trail, a couple unlucky enough that I had to break a strand or two of their new webs to get past. A spotted a couple of rock wallabies in the bush jumping away as I came down the trail too. Definitely a favourite and I’m looking forward to going for no2. TFTC
This was the second of two night caches targeted to kick off our ascent to Aconcagua. We found the the first reflector easily enough. The others were a mixed bag. At a couple of intersecting trails, we had to make choices. Trusted our senses and most times we got it right. Other than a possum, croaking frogs in the creek and spiders weaving their webs across the trail, and a muggle couple photographing frogs close to GZ we had no other nocturnal encounters worth noting. At GZ we found the vertical tacks easily enough, however just could not spot the 3 Triangular tacks. In the end we trusted our geocaching senses and made the find. This was so much more rewarding than our earlier unsuccessful attempt to find Bidjigal NC#2. Returning back to the start, we did have one hiccup - we missed a turning, but the unfamiliarity of the path had us backtracking very quickly, and almost no time was lost.
Thanks PPE. Have a FP - This fascinating night cache deserves a favourite point.

Started this one in the car park with teamMerlin after yesterday it was decided that these 2 night caches would be an attempt tonight, provided the weather played its part. So we spotted the first reflector, that was easy. So at the first choice we saw the next reflector. At a few intersections didn't spot the next reflector tried a direction and soon came across another great right way then spotted the two reflectors couldn't see the three. So we took a punt on where would be the place to hide a cache and soon had it in hand
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache Purplepeopleater

On a cache run with phlphotos today and decided to collect some more multi-caches that we need for a challenge cache. With fading light we drove over to this park and parked near the mens shed. Lights in hand we soon picked up on the night beacons and started following the trail. Made our way to the two flectors and then couldn't see the last clue, so made a guess and thankfully also made the find. With the cache in hand, we signed the log before replacing it as found. Both the log and cache container are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Purplepeopleater.
The following TBs came through for the mileage : Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football, Daltus-Dachzeltbus39

OCW the Bebes tonight for this one just as the light was fading. We spotted the trail and followed it for a fair while. We lost it for some time and doubled back to the last marker. After a short walk again we spotted the double markers that we had missed first time around. A quick search in an obvious spot and we had CIH. Tftc
PelDroedGwin and I arrived at the posted coords just as the light was fading and headed down the path.
We were soon on the trail and picking up the racks nicely. At each junction we split to see who would spot the market on their path.
After a nice wander and a few water crossings we realised it had been a while since we’d seen any, we backtracked to the last sighted tack but before we reached it I spotted the double.
I’d read previous logs suggesting that the triple was no longer in place so we used geo sense to uncover the hide.
A fun nighttime walk

Found with u_c and gm10. After we took all the correct left straight or right to get to the 2 virtical reflectors but scanning the area for about 10 mins just couldnt locate the triangle of reflectors so we used our geo sence and like the other multi i found the cache in the first location i looked. The owner needs to do maintenance on both these multis at the final location. Also saw a possum going up a tree on way back to car i got a pic and what i think is a cat about 3 quarters the way to the cache and in some location on the way back.

It was far too hot to go out caching during the day so set my sights on this as my daily cache. Managed to convince my brother and young nephew to accompany me on this warm evening.
We parked (outside the gates) just after 8:30 and spotted the first reflector soon after. Followed the path down into the bush where we soon had to focus as much on avoiding spiders in their webs as we did on locating the well spaced tacks. There was a point where we didn't spot any tacks for quite some time and then hit a decision point. I ventured a little along each option without spotting anything, so thinking we had missed a turn, we backtracked to the last tack. Searched around there for a little while before heading back towards the junction. This time we did spot another tack along the way and at the junction, guessed correctly. Turns out that there was another tack but I just hadn't gone far enough. From there, we had no trouble getting to the double tack.
Followed the instructions spotting a single tack not too far away, but as we got closer, we spotted another on the ground. Looks like the tree is shedding some bark at the moment. We couldn't find the third tack, but the bark on the ground perfectly matched a missing pieced next to the one on the tree, so we were pretty sure we were at GZ. Sure enough we spotted the container and sent young nephew in for the retrieve. SL and left the tack we found on the ground inside as well.
Decided to take an alternate route back to the car which seemed like an easier path and certainly less spiders. All up, it took us about 1.5 hours and we enjoyed the adventure.

I haven't done a night cache in a while and just came to the conclusion that the middle of the year is probably the best period to do them - it's dark earlier...
OK, so I have two night caches close together not too far from home that I haven't done, and one has no logs since January. After my last unloved find I found I was 4 days short of 50 years unloved - that'd be right.
Right, so this one it is.
Parked on the street - in case the gate was closed (do they lock them?) - about 30 minutes after sunset.
Made my way to the published coordinates and quickly spotted the first tack. After a few I came to a spot I could see two tack that seemed to be indicating different directions. Checked the one I thought least likely and decided it wasn't that way. So went the more likely way and soon spotted another tack. All good here.
In the semi dark I could hear Kookaburras and later frogs as I closed in on GZ.
The tacks were nicely spaced except for one section where I started wondering if I had missed a turnoff. Just before I decided to go back I spotted the next one. Maybe I missed one or maybe one's gone AWOL (or maybe the CO is messing with our minds...)
I'd come in well equipped for piercing the darkness - 4500 lumens between my headlamp and torch.
Then about two thirds of the way to GZ I realised the headlamp was noticeably dimmer. So glad I'd just replaced the batteries in the Geotorch.
In the end, I spotted the double tacks and then the triple. Made my way to GZ for a nice quick find.
Opened to find the cache in good condition - log is getting quite full, though - and as I completed signing duties saw there was a find in May not electronically logged. Just my luck.
Then replaced and, checking the map, made my way back to *The Hademobile* via an "easier" route.
Top experience. Have a favourite. I'll need to come back and do *#2* sooner rather than later.

Ever since the unexplained disappearance of some experienced bushwalkers in the Bidjigal Forest, there have been rumours of the Bidjigal Witch – a relative of the Blair Witch – who preys upon unsuspecting victims in these foul woods.
We were feeling brave and opted to venture out in search of the truth this dreadful eve. Close to winter, the watery light of day soon turned to inky black night. The thin crescent of a moon didn’t provide much light, and we were glad to have our powerful MagLights for the quest. We were also loaded with garlic … not so much as a deterrent against witches (which it isn’t; it’s good for keeping vampires at bay, though), but mainly because I love it in my cooking and use it quite liberally in everything except dessert.
The sharp beams of our flashlights picked out reflective markers on trees as we entered the dark and foreboding forest. A chill from the many pockets of mist enveloped us. We thought we heard whispering around us, following us, but every time we stopped to listen, the sounds stopped too. The more the track dropped towards a hidden river far below, the colder it got and we felt many a shiver. We were seeking some clues, perhaps even a lair, and pressed on in a tight formation, watching out for each other as well as for anything unusual or suspicious.
There, in the haze of the illuminated rising mist some reflective eyes. This could be what we were looking for. What had we found? Was this Pandora’s Box? Should be open it and satisfy our curiosity, yet risk the fate of all humankind? With a trembling hand I reached for the catch and lifted the lid. We froze in terror: the Bidjigal Witch or some other demon!!! A bloodcurdling shriek filled the air …
… ahhh, here comes the nurse with that syringe to dull the pain in my mind … darkness … dreamless sleep …
[finally logged the find, more than five years after that fateful night]

I had by now already found x 3 different Types of caches for the Thursday, but 'what the heck', why not get another Multi. They more than 'few and far between' near home. (Only x 2 within 80 km, and one of those is Disabled at the moment.)
So I didn't go back to the car, but headed over to the start of this one. Saw some other reflective material, but noticed a proper Night reflector, and headed off down the track. Not too many spider webs, which was good. Grabbed a stick to clear a path. Not surprised that I see any muggles, but did see some distance house lights at one stage. Here, there, and around, until I found the 'final' spot. GREAT
Found @ 2345, GAFF1. Cache dry and intact - though I didn't notice either of the Trackables listed.
Left: a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen, a pair of 'disposable scissors', and ruler.
Will add a bookmark, this time for the Challenging Cache elective #4. This being #387, of x 400 required.
(I already have more than enough 'Night Caches' for #6)
Through for mileage: 12-12-12 Multi Event - Auckland, New Zealand; 15 Years of Geocaching 2000-2015 Geocoin; 2014 Geocaching NSW geocoin; 3.1415 Pi & Ice Cream Slice; 3Brothers-NSW; Auckland NZ '13; Bridge2Bridge Travel Ingot; Cache Critters - Baa, Neigh, & Oink Geocoins; CII-35Z; CITO - Upper Swan, and Beyond; Discover Me & Animals: GCookie; Flash Mob XII GCookie Geocoin; G Cookie Earth Cache 10 Year Celebration Coin; Geo-NSW 2015 Waymarks coin; GCookie FIZZY coin; GeoNSW 2016 Geocoin; Hello Cocky TB; IconicBridges2012; Kengu; NZ Mega 13; NZ Mega 2013 Spare Key; NZ Mega Auckland 2013 Signature Trackable; Oz Mega 2014 GCookie; Qld Mega 2015 GCookie coin; Spindoc Bob & Friends Coin; Suzie@2431; and Transaustralia.

Found with morry9. After coming past the Stony Range Botanic Gardens yesterday evening, only to find the gates locked (despite the council’s website saying the garden was open until 8 PM), we returned in the morning to try for the First To Find again at the newly published ‘Stony Range Earthcache’. Morry9 and I met bella at waggy at the published co-ordinates (this time the gate was already unlocked and open), and we worked through the Earth Cache activity. Bella at waggy emailed our answers off to the Cache Owner and it was not long before we received a reply confirming we were the joint First To Find. Before leaving the gardens, morry9 and I also found the nearby ‘Stony Range’ Traditional Cache.
On the way back, we went via Chatswood to finish off the ‘Upstanding Citizens of Chatswood’ Multi Cache. We had collected the answers on a previous visit and I had worked out the final co-ordinates at home. We noticed the area around one of the waypoints has had a serious face lift since we were here last but we checked and the clue is still available for subsequent finders of the cache.
Not long after returning, I noticed another new cache had recently been published over at Rhodes, ‘Become a Rhodes Scholar Part 3’. I called morry9 and he did a 180 and came back over to meet me. We drove over to Rhodes together to check out the new cache in the Become a Rhodes Scholar series. Unfortunately there was a constant flow of foot traffic at Ground Zero, with no clear break in sight, so we decided we would come back later that night. As we were heading back to the car, another new cache had popped up. It was morry9’s new Multi Cache over in Lane Cove, ‘Come potter around Pottery Green’, he said he was happy to come for the ride while I went for it, so we headed over. Kid Ron Satan met us over at Pottery Green and we made the joint First To Find together, while morry9 watched on in anticipation.
Later that evening we headed over to Eric Mobbs Reserve and Bidgigal Reserve to attempt the caches hidden in the bushland there, including a new Multi Cache. We were joint First To Find ‘Bidgigal Night Cache #2’, and also found ‘Under Stone’, ‘Hayden's Hide’ and ‘Bidjigal Night Cache’; but had to log a Did Not Find at the ‘Excelsior’ Mystery Cache.
We were hoping by now the Bennelong Bridge over at Rhodes was much quieter and picked up Jase90 on the way. To our surprise the bridge was still quite busy but we managed to make the find during a momentary break. To our delight we were also the joint First To Find at the ‘Become a Rhodes Scholar Part 3’! According to the Cache Owner, this makes us “full legend!” haha A great cache to top off an unsuspectingly long, but successful day out caching.
Thanks For The Caches to the respective Cache Owners!

Found with JordsAu
So this morning I went to Dee Why with JordsAu and met Bella at Waggy for a FTF earth cache in
Dee Why after we found it and submited the answers, JordsAu and myself we did another one near by. We then headed back home and just as I got home Jordan called me back for another FTF in Rhodes so we headed off to find and got to GZ, we realised there was too many muggles around so we left and my new cache popped up so we drove to Lane Cove and Jordsau and KRS did my new cache for FTF. Later we had lunch and then headed to Baulkham Hills for more caches, we did Under Stone, Bidgigal Night Cache2 , and aslo got FTF and attempted Excelsior, but that was a DNF . nice area and cool caches around . Thanks for the cache! Now back to Rhodes for a 4th FTF

Well! This cache was a test of all things about the dark side of caching. The CO had asked if I could do a test run after he had done some maintenance on this cache due to lots of DNF's. It was also a chance to test out my new Led Lenser head torch. So after parking the Geobeast at the nearby oval, I stepped into the darkside and soon found the way with the bright stars pointing me in the right direction. Down, down and yet further down into the darkness I went. With lots of noises and a bit of movement in the bushes, was enough to send anyone doing this cache on their own, out of there, but I did promise the CO I'd check this cache and I knew I had to just keep going deeper into the darkness. I soon arrived at one of the tale signs and knew I must be getting close and I had to take a backward step to find that 3 star constellation. Ahh! there you are, finally arrived at GZ and soon had Cache in hand. Took a couple of TB's and decided to walk back a different way from where I had come. Thanks PPE for a fun night time adventurer, Fav point from me.

I spent the afternoon replacing all the reflectors for this cache. Good to go now!

The bush setting was going to make for a really interesting adventure, but all we ended up doing was taking a walk in the dark with no indication of where we should be going. A shame as this could have been a great experience.
Tonight our little group made an attempt at a number of night caches seeing as there aren't many in Sydney, we thought we could get three done in one evening. This one was second on the list but it wasn't as successful as the others. At the top of the path we found the first tack but then that was it. We committed a good 600m of walking down towards the creek without another tack, and even at the intersections where we hoped to find some guidance, none appeared. On the trip back up we again tried to test some of the side paths but still nothing. Certainly worth a check by the CO (or ask Paul The Hippy what his secret is).
I followed along with the group into the darkness of the bush and although the others kept going in the hope of finding "something", there was a whole lotta nothing and I had the heeby jeebies when no markers could be found.
"Come with me", she said, "and we'll go some night caches!". What she didn't tell me was that these were on the other side of the George river and, to make things worse, the M4 motorway. It was in the Hills district!
We found the first one easily but the others were MIA. We walked all the way to the bottom of the creek but none there. We walked into the forest to the left but nothing there. Hopefully more luck for any next ones....

Didn't have luck tonight. Found the first marker at WP but couldn't locate the second one from there. Went down a few of the trails in anticipation of finding something but didn't. Will return and have another go soon.
Got as far as the bridge then lost the trail - tried across the bridge and down the hill to the creek but couldn't find any further markers. Little ones got a bit tired and I don't think I have ever seen so many spiders in my life !!! Even had to jump over a funnel web blocking the path back up the hill.
30/06/15. 8:22 PM. Cache #2639. Streak day #373.
PPE had texted me this morning, inviting me to join him on his maintenance walk tonight, and beta test any of the new reflectors he'd put down along the way. Seeing as b@w had been with me at Sunday night's DNF, I teed them up to come too. When I arrived at the published coordinates, PPE and b@w were already there, and ready, so off we went.
We retraced our steps, with some interim reflectors being added along the way. At the end, it was clear that the vertical and horizontal pairs had gone, so these too got replaced, but the cache was found, just that little bit further than we had explored 2 nights ago. Signed log and did a TB swap. Back to the cars, and b@w agreed to join me for one more night cache, the newy in Northmead ("Too Nocturnal").
Thanks for the CO personal service, PPE and the company b@w. Fave point. TFTC.

A call from KRS said he was meeting PPE tonight for a maintenance run tonight on this one given our findings two nights ago so naturally we said we were keen to make a find and see how close we got the other night. To night the gates to the car park were open as sports training was in full swing but we decided to park outside having seen them locked the other night. Meeting at around 8 we set off with a new tack added within torch reach of the start. We followed a now familiar track checking tacks along the way and adding a couple of extras in places just for good measure and one or two faint or damaged ones replaced. One was a little hard to reach as the tree had grown a bit and even PPE had to really stretch without falling into the creek. We passed what we found was the last tack a couple of nights ago only to then for the CO to find another tack we missed the other night at a key junction and on a closer look it was probably hidden by a leaf so some "gardening" was done. A small bit of night life was spotted apart from the rabbits up near the oval. We headed in a direction we took the other night but we could not find the any of the final tacks. PPE then indicated GZ should be close which was an area we searched the other night but it appears we where just a couple of meters short as a fallen tree had been the boundary to our search area. This time the find was made. New tacks on the path and GZ were added plus some more gardening. We completed the signing duties and re hid after discovering the various travel bugs. A slightly different route out was taken. TFTC and thanks for letting us tag along for a speedy repair. A fav pt from us.

Combined DNF/NM log.
After finding "Marvel Superhero #2" nearby, my plan was to find this one and then if time allowed, head over to Northmead for dkmacca's new night cache "Too Nocturnal". I had a short walk towards the starting coordinates, keeping an eye out for the security car I had seen from MSH2. Got to the start and no sign of any reflectors, but there was only one way to go, so followed the path and it didn't take too long to find my first reflector. Following the rest was as expected - fairly far apart sometimes but there was always one just when I needed it. I saved waypoints on a regular basis so that I wouldn't get lost.
Got to some water and had a choice of 2 paths. Chose the wrong one at first, so after backtracking and then trying the other way, back in the game. Followed alongside the creek and got to another junction, this time of three paths. Tried one with a bridge, no reflectors. Crossed back and tried another way, same thing. Now I heard voices and saw lights. Oooh, this was odd. Hopefully to avoid scaring them I called out hello and then walked away from them up the third way. Still no reflectors, so I have to head back to the people. I ask if they're following reflectors, yes, are they caching, yes, and then I see the familiar faces of bella@waggy, senior and daughter. Fancy meeting them here!
We joined forces and tried across again with no luck. Back to the last reflector I'd saved, and called the CO. He confirmed which path we needed to take, and where we should find reflectors. We tried this way again with the CO still on the phone, but still nothing - we were very close to where we should have seen the vertical and horizontal pairs. Even with a description and location for GZ we came up with no new reflectors and no cache. I think I met b@w around 8.30, so our final search was almost half an hour.
We walked back via platypus track - a different way than we'd taken - and b@w was also able to find Marvel Superhero 2. Time to head home, and as I'd taken much longer than I'd expected, Too Nocturnal will have to wait for another night, as will this one.

As per KRS's log. What are the chance of running into each other at night
We found a couple of reflectors on the ground a short way into the trip so put them back on the nearest tree but no luck finding reflectors near GZ

I managed to overshoot GZ not once but twice. I think I must have missed a lot of the tacks as they seemed very far apart. At one point I got to within 120m of Lip Lapper and knew it couldn't be that far along. Kept returning to the last know tack but just couldn't find the vertical pair. Eventually I just used a bit of common sense and spotted a likely location for GZ. Closer inspection turned up the horizontal pair and then the cache.

I have wanted to do this one for ages but, having only two, apparently much less demanding, night caches under my belt, I wondered if this one might be too challenging. Anyway, as I had the opportunity this evening to bring a companion for support I decided to attempt it.
We set off at dusk and may have missed the first marker but picked up others as we continued down the path. A few times we thought we may have strayed off the trail but then we’d spot another reflector and realise we were still on track.
We overshot GZ but, when we returned, noticed a name tag on the ground, probably left by the scout group a couple of nights ago. This was a giveaway, in fact we spotted the horizontal tacks before the vertical ones. The cache was discovered soon after.
I dropped a GC.
Thanks for the adventure PPE, you obviously went to a lot of trouble setting this up. It gets my final favourite point.

Enjoyed doing this night time one. The walk back was a bit of climb but still lots of fun. Done with geo family of 9
Set out a dark to meet up with family to do this night cache. What a great walk.have done a couple of these night ones but a few with us had not. They all enjoyed it. Would have to be the best reflecter one I have done. We did leave a few markers for ourself To be sure we were on the right tracks to get out again.well done.
Had no problems finding way in and out. Reflectors well spaced. No sign of spiders.
Found it! Great fun with some Australian friends, took Czech Koala but couldn't sign log because we forgot to bring a pen!
Did this one a couple weeks ago but forgot to log it. Definitely was one of my favourite caches
Nice hike in the dark only one backtrack required have a FP for the effort tftc
Our favourite night cache! A great walk in. The tacks were well spaced. I used a head lamp for the first time and was surprised how effective it was. TFTC.
best night cache we've done! Nice long walk in, with lots of creature noises around... had a little trouble at some points finding the tacks but nothing major. TFTC!
My second visit into PPE territory in the week. Came out with GeoSon to get this, and another nearby night cache. (Well I had also planned to get Butterfly Effect #4, but it was getting too late once this one was ticked off).
I reckon this could also be called the Bidjigal Cache of the 1000 spiders, as all along the track there were many enormous orb spiders. GeoSon made sure he walked in my shadow the whole way. Got a very close look at a possum.
There was only one spot where we had a choice where we couldn't immedtialy see a reflector, but the rest of it was easy and enjoyable to follow.

Out caching with snoopy and Casper and it was getting close to midnight. We found the last 2 caches too quickly, so to make sure the next one was going to be found in the new day we decided to do a longer one. A long one it was, took us at least 1 hour to do the round trip. Geodog #2 had an absolute ball, geodog #1 didn't have the stamina so she sat on my backpack under my arm. The journey was made more difficult as every leaf reflected back the raindrops to us and geodog #2's eyes also reflected. SL #1106 on streak day #499 TFTC

It’s been just a little too hot for me over the last couple of week to go caching, That and the Geo Dawg still recovering from her Knee operation, She’s undergoing Physio at the moment, She reckons she’ll right to go in a couple of weeks. She can’t wait. So I decided to travel down to Sydney this evening after dark to try to find some caches in the Dural and Castle Hill area’s . Don't you just love night caching. This one especially the little dots were spaced out just enough to keep you on your toes and the terrain just rough enough to keep you concentrating on the ground ahead whilst trying to spot the dancing dots. We need more night caches like this one. Will have to award a favourite for this one. Great Cache. TFTC
All fire tacks were checked, adjusted and or replaced. Cleaned out cache - why do some people use the container for rubbish like train tickets, tab betting slips???
This one was a great cache Thought we got lost more than once but it was a great feeling when we found it! At the end it is now missing the second vertical reflector and the second horizontal reflector, so it needs maintenance.
Some of the points seem to be no longer in place, especially at the crucial final bits.
Had a successful evening jaunt with LewDogs - but we walked A LOT FURTHER than we needed to, because the clues didn't seem to match with reality. We eventually guessed that either our torches just weren't bright enough to see all the points or that some of them are no longer in place. The latter ended up being the case, because we eventually found the cache after much sleuthing from the last point we'd seen. It was still enjoyable to see the clever end idea of the hunt - but some points certainly need replacing. TFTC!
Trying this one as a Venturers activity was poorly subscibed wirh only two vents interested. After meeting we headed down down down following the faded signs , luckily the spiders had finished for the seasin as we encountered none.
We found we walked past the end of the trail so had to double back and start looking. After a short search spotted another marker and the find was done shortly after.
Nice walk and adventure TFTC

Found with Morley 196 whilst having a geocaching night at venturer scouts. Only 3 of us but this one was great and my 1st night cache. Very well set up. Took the wrong turn beforecthe last way point but found it in the end. SLLNTN. TFTC PPE
Took a few friends to this one for their first night cache because I remembered it being a good fun. The reflectors aren't as bright but that's understandable from the weather conditions. The newbies went further then needed into the track, luckily we then read the previous comment about the missing double tack! Eventually found cache and ended the night on a win!
This cache was a lot of fun. Our best night cache to date!
We did end up going much further than required but eventually we figured it out.
We saw a ladder at GZ, how random!

Lots of fun! We went the wrong way a couple of times and went way past the last tack, but we backtracked and the last tack pointed us in the right direction.
No double tacks (vertical or horizontal), but found GZ none the less! Thanks for the adventure.
We signed the back of the log.

What a lovely little cache. Enjoyed the walk through the park at night. Plenty of frogs and bugs, but no wildlife
This one is well worth a favorite - especially because it was my number 50. Left a bouncy ball.
By the way - the two horizontal reflectors appear to have become one horizontal reflector.

Found this one fairly easily tonight.
Reflectors were easy to find (Although one of us has better eyes than the other apparently), and there were plenty of them.
Oodles of spider webs, ended up just giving in and walking straight through the lot of them. The good thing was that it was too dark to find out what spiders were crawling on us.
Started raining the moment we found the cache, so signed quickly and ran back.
Good exercise on this one, thanks for the cache!

I'm figuring that by strong torch you didn't mean the flashlight ap on my smart phone!? Because that's what I used
I started off last night...was in the area at dusk (to find another cache) so had a hankering to just go and have a look at the start of this cache....of course once I had seen one reflector, I could not resist finding the next, and then the next.....None were particularly bright but the phone seemed to manage. I was well into the bush when I lost the trail. Came to a junction and walked left and right and couldn't find the next reflector....at this point my battery on my phone was fading and the phone entered power save mode....so no flashlight - I was plunged into darkness....and blimey is it dark in there. I managed to get the thing on again by turning off the power save function, but at that point decided that staying would be foolish with the lack of remaining battery - so legged it back to the car. Tonight, I returned with a full charge on the phone and a spare windup torch - neither still particularly strong, but just about up to the job. Hiked back swiftly to where I had left off and then made an educated guess at the junction - hiked on for some way with no reflector and then finally spotted one! From there it was a short walk to GZ (so had nearly made it the night before). What a great adventure....although if I had read the logs and seen the photos before going, I probably would not have gone (Not a big fan of spiders!!). TFTC x

Whoa! What an awesome night cache!! The GPS took us to the further gate of the the two possibles and from there we legged it to the suggested starting point. Getting under way we soon realised we were going down down down and down, I had not realised there was such a low lying valley here.
There was a party of 7, most of us had torches but we still found a few trips and near miss slips, no harm done!
I was surprised when we arrived at GZ so soon actually, going by the description I had though we were in for a hell of a slog, still it was great to see a decent size container and whats really rare it had a coin inside which we pulled and will move along.
Quite enjoyable, and plenty of tacks along the way - you really should not have any problem locating GZ.
Our only hassel was on the way back we followed the creek just a little too far but we soon realised we had gone the wrong way when we had to duck under a branch we had not seen before...
A great experience and we felt better for having done the brief but strenuous walk back up again.
Thanks for bringing us here. This one earns a favourite point
The longest part of the whole thing was the description I'd say but still worth the read for the historic value. Thanks again!!

Found with mat41174 at 9:15pm last night.
We certainly enjoyed the trek in on this one and took our time checking out the scenery by torchlight as we went. In fact we were so distracted by the scenery and conversation that we actually walked right past the 2 vertical fire tacks... and not just by a small amount but by about 500m! We were glad that we did though as we saw more of the creek and also encountered what may have been a funnel web spider? (see pic below)
Eventually we remembered that we were meant be looking for fire tacks, so turned around and headed back from where we thought we came. Sure enough we soon found the 2 vertical tacks and headed to GZ for a quick find. Another large spider was guarding the cache (see pic below) but he did not trouble us as we signed the log. I also dropped off a "Chase Your Dreams" geocoin.

A great cache, although a lot longer than we expected. Perhaps we really should read the notes?!?
The kids got a bit scared by one massive crash in the bush. But after checking with the owner that we were close, we continued for an easy find and a shortcut out.

An absolutely AWESOME NC!!
We decided to hit this little beauty after completing a near-by cache (GC1AEZP)
As soon as we arrived on site we were welcomed by an awesome display of lighting and thunder, followed by the heavens opening up. We had no choice but to wait it out. However after a 15min wait we finally decided to pack it in as the rain was only getting heavier - bitterly disappointed we were.
Just as we drove off the geo-gf cried out "Babe it's easing" and on that note I made a quick U bolt back to the start coords where we soon picked up on the first of the RF's - then out of no where the rain was upon us once more. Thankfully this time only light showers.
With the rain on our backs and the fantastic display of flaura/fauna & the rugged terrain, made this NC well worth the effort.
RF's were well placed and easy to follow. The night was un-usually humid and the only sounds to be heard was the croaking of frogs and the creek running fast & furious. We absolutely enjoyed the challenge the terrain dished out, from it's low - medium level paths.
Definitely will recommend and will fav.
Many thx to Purplepeopleater for a TOP NC

TFTC. Saw a good few webs and spiders along the way all handled with some waving of a stick in front of us...
Out on a night run with Team Sunderland....should have been a nice easy stroll down the path but of-course we headed straight into the bush & over-thought the whole situation...quickly found the tacks again & soon had CIH....T4TC
Well thanks PPE for this brilliant night cache....for starters we found the 1st tack and for some silly reason started to walk directly into the bush than thought to ourselves there's no track here ( totally over thought the situation )back on the real track soon found the next tack then all the way to the cache, nice hide took geo coin, cheers.
Chook, the two little Vanpires and I ventured out for the evening for some night time caching. Battled lots of spiders and webs, got lost a few times but got there in the end. Chook got the honors. TFTC
11:20 pm. It's dark, it's eery, unseen things crash through the undergrowth, I'm covered in spiderwebs. I was made for this. Awesome Fun. Took GC. SL. TFTC

Cache check.
All markers in place, cache all good.
A few spiders across the path and a bit muddy under foot.
Dropped off Nightcache Geocoin.
Enjoy!!!!
