This morning Granny and I had a plan to continue with seeking out caches with the off-road attribute for our monthly challenge. It turned out to be a fun day and with lots of various caches in lots of places. We got in a few extras while we were passing as well and even found a couple of ftfs along the way. We got to have a morning tea/ breakfast at an event and met some great cachers. There is some really pretty countryside around this area. We signed the logs and replaced the caches as we found them. Thanks for the caches and the hides. If you are seeing this please check out, GCARTY0, see what is planned for October 2025. There is an importance in placing will attends to events. Thanks for supporting geocaching in Australia. ITS A PARTY EVENT!

We had the opportunity to spend some time exploring the region and were lucky to have perfect winter weather for it. We visited some wonderful sites, enjoyed some spectacular views and discovered some interesting history along the way. After heading up to the top of the road, we understood why all the residents bins were here instead. A nice speedy find. Thanks Princess1005
After a Admiring the view from up repeater Station Road we made our way back here only needing to push aside some foliage to reveal the cache . TFTC
Princess1005 I found your cache Gunalda Pass on 22/4/2024, 2:50PM. This is my find 6589 and find # 14 today. Found after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Hi there Princess1005, we found your cache Gunalda Pass today. Were camping at Gootchie Creek for a few days with a caravanning group from RV Homebase, and have taken the opportunity to duck out and find a few caches while we are here. The container needed a small spot of maintenance, so we replaced the container and the logbook, returning the cache to its form glory. Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache near where our GPS said we should be looking. Cache Condition: Good. Regards Ian & Penny (Found and logged using Cachly).
We turned off the main road and headed off to get this smile..Wow, what a great view from up here today Pulled some of the vine back and Bingo we we soon singned
Away for a holiday trip and some team caching and family catchup. TFTC SL
Tftc sweet-sour, nice easy one even tho the vines have to be cleared to get to the spot.
Road trip from Maryborough southbound today, picking off roadside caches to break up the drive, a great view up here, had to wrangle to vines to get to this cache.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Sweet-Sour

Day 2 of my Fraser Coast and Sunshine Coast trip with my son. It’s our New Year traditions. First three we camp at Kilkivan, this time we stayed in Maryborough to spread our boundaries.
Today’s catching was around Gympie and Widgee.
We cache from Maryborough to Widgee for the event. Then we cache back to Maryborough.
We had lots of fun today. With early start and late finish.
My haul today was 30 finds, the breakdown is 21 traditional, 3 mystery, event and adventure lab with 5 waypoints. Plus 5 FTF.
One of the mystery was a challenge cache I signed about 18 months ago. That was painful to do.

Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
The hint 'magnetic' no longer applies but MAY still lead you to the spot.
Really good views from uo here & a very pleasant morning weathwise.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

One of my daughters who lives in Hervey Bay was getting an award today at school, so I made the trip from Beaudesert to Hervey Bay and back again in a day. Thankfully there's still a couple of caches between there that I hadn't gotten yet to break the long drive up.
895 kilometres in one day is a lot of driving! This was cache 31 of 33
It's not often you get an unloved cache as a T1 D1. Mustn't be much geocaching traffic up this way. I had been here once before but the cache was missing so was very happy to tick this one off the list and get some unloved credits for the unloved challenge.
All in good condition and some cracking views (only to be outdone by the next one)
Thanks for the cache **sweet - sour**

No joy. Searched high and low, moved all scrub from around the guard and checked the white roadside pole. May have missed it or it could be MIA..
While staying in Gympie for a few days with my Geodog Scruffy, we had to get out and find some caches in the area.

Found without problems. Many thanks Sweet-Sour for placing a cache here for us to find. The cache was sitting exposed a couple of meters from we suspect it is supposed to be. We moved it to a better spot 2m away.

With a meeting in Gympie today, I left home early so I could drive a bit further North to grab a couple of caches before the brain draining began. I was tilted with coffee and hungry to make some finds.
I remember the first time I drove to Rockhampton and this section of the highway was still active. I think I got stuck behind a truck or caravan and said to myself what a busted bit of road. Today I was back to relive that old nightmare.
As I started up the hill, I saw a big sign that said "Road Ends" and wondered how far I would get before having to do an impossible 3-point turn in the middle of nowhere. Whoever put that sign up is clearly an idiot, because that is something I would do. The road doesn't end, it's just a cruddy old road, starting to become overgrown. If you could smoke lantana then this place would be an awesome spot to hang out.
A great spot for a cache and a great view. tftc

I am sure I have been up this hill before. I am certain I have been up this hill before. I have a picture of an eagle taken from near here.
Still quite a few cars using the old road. A nice quick find here. The ants are making this one home though.

Travelling with my Geoson "BadAssLongCoat" this morning and after finding a fairly terrain difficult cache we found this one very easily. As my son said, it was just laying on the ground so we both spotted it at the same time. After signing the log he put the cache back where we thought it should have been and moved onto the next one.

Today is Mr FelixII's birthday and a plan was hatched to have lunch at the Theebine Hotel. But of course what's a birthday without a cache or 2.
A day of walking in wet grass and slippery tracks after the overnight rain, exploring a new area to us. Just what we love about Geocaching.
A short stop and your cache was found, log signed and we were on our way.
Picked up the TB to keep moving along.

I drive fairly regularly between Brisbane and Bundaberg, but almost every time I drive it with no time to spare for a casual, or more involved "stop on the side of the road". Accordingly, these caches on the Gunalda Pass have taunted me for a long long time.
Today though I was on my own, and had a little time to spare. Knowing that, my plan was to hit the road. Next stop was here. Took in the pretty good views - and noted a stack of caravans on the highway that might be in my near future. Oh well, a few more stops up here first so may not be an issue.
Thanks for placing this cache, sweet - sour. Found in good condition.

Got the ole travel itch again this morning. So set off early to discover and find some caches heading North through Gymoie, Biggenden. Gayndah and Einsvold hopefully with some success. But due to a problem with the Geo Truck (Loss of brake lights) Required a quick detour to my local repair shop soon had the problem rectified ans was on my way again Nice cache but unfortunatly the log is saturated
Thanks for the great cache and adventure Sweet-Sour

after the struggle of WARRIOR 5 this was an easy find. The road is open all the way through.
We stumbled into this cache without even knowing about it as we were enjoying the view and trying to figure out the best way to "Bruce the bat". Unfortunately we found the cache was totally destroyed and pieces of the cache were lying around everywhere. The box was smashed, the logbook unreadable and just one small trade item (the one with googly eyes) seemed to be still intact. To avoid geo-trash we took the remnants of the cache with us. Hopefully the owner will put a new box here, you really get a nice view from this spot!
Update: we took a photo of the box, but my Android doesn't want me to upload it. I will do so as soon as I can access another computer.

Randomly found it, what a great view from here, awesome! Unfortunately it's destroyed. Hopefully there will a new cachebox follow, it is really a great view.
Found at 10.40 hrs. Headed off on a day of geocaching around the Gunalda Area. I have seen many caches popup at different times and it looks like a nice area to explore. With smoko and lunch packed we were off. This was our seventh for the day.

we found it, purplecazza and I, it was a bit smelly the GZ as there was a bag of decaying bones in the area, so the GC had been moved a couple of mtrs up from the original area, pretty much still in the same place but just not right on top of the stench. great views, logged and left items.TFTC.

It was great to show the Geofamily the old 'goat track' that was used to cross the Gunalda Range back in my early years of trucking. It's definitely an overgrown track now but the views are magnificent from GZ. TFTC sweet_sour and for bringing back some old memories
Found at 11:11 AM GAFF1. A great view across the valley, but more importantly this is where we probably should have started the track to "Warrior No. 5"

After a visit to the top of the hill we parked at a spot where I had parked a few times many years ago to check out the views.
