Returning from a lovely massage in Emerald and decided to look out for this one. Felt uneasy walking in the bush with the heat and wriggle sticks but all went well. TFTC.
We found Dewey the Pachyderm on a nice quiet spring day, meandering through the suburbs, seeking the occasional cache. Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy ourselves
Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Nine: Casey, Cardinia and Yarra Ranges. Weather: perfect for geocaching!Ive stopped for the Earthcache, and this trad was very close by. We have a Bear Rock close to where I live that also gets repainted regularly. I dont think hes been named. Thanks for this cache maggies_lens.
Great hide, lovely road... Left a matchbox car... Thanks for bringing me here. Was a great ride around the reservoir....
Found it!!!! Good spot. Cas opened it up and I get the credit for spotting it. Stay winning
Out cacheing cleaning up the puzzles I have solved and a few others finds along the way.Sl thanks for the cache
On her way to her wedding, Steves niece noticed a new message painted on the rock from her soon-to-be husband with the words I love you Bec. How sweet. This sure wasnt a quick find for us. I think we checked every log in the vicinity before finally uncovering the cache. Thanks Maggies_lens (Pinkpiggy7) for bringing us back to this great location.
Quick stop and explore before finding this one. En route to a longer walk for caching so this was a good quick one. TFTC
Not sure why it took me so long to find the container - it was well hidden but not THAT difficult, and there weren’t a heap of hidey holes.
TFTC and adventure.
TFTC and adventure.
It was dark and rainy and cold but we found it! It's amazing how many layers of paint the rock has, we used to visit it and paint it in venturers so a bit of a sentimental cache
Nice dark and wet find. Good to stop in and see how many more layers of paint elephant rock has since I was younger
With a few hours up my sleeve I thought I'd take a drive to the nearby Earthcache. This was an added bonus.
I got far too carried away with a whereigo in Berwick and landed here, realising I had to pull out of the chase when I looked at the remaining time I had before I needed to be back home. A quick find thankfully, a look at the rock sculpture, then quickly back home! tftc
Out for a bit of geocaching today .. Upper Beac seemed like a good idea. Have had my eye on this one for a while and surprisingly had to wait out a couple of muggles parked nearby .. Dewey has had a nice new coat of paint too. Good to see this cache is still going. Thanks Maggies lens for placing the cache… a quick find today.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Pinkpiggy7 for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Found after doing the nearby multi and trad. quick find. Stopped here to get more caches in a new LGA. lunch stop.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

The muggle friend likes to log data on Find a Grave. I like to geocache. I think this is how Xmas will be done from now on. Cool little spot here. Thanks

On the way back from Yarra Junction and decided to grab this cache as we always seem to drive past.
Parked safely and a short stroll to GZ.
Coords were spot on and it wasn't long before the cache was revealed .
Log signed and all back safe again.
Thanks Maggi lens

Unexpected fun suprise at this stop..Could have done with a mega Geo trail into the cache (OMG did I really say that) Cache located and signed then off to amuse myself with the elephant.
Arrived in Melbourne to attend the MEGA Event at Whittlesea with woolwood9.
We came over a few days before to do some geocaching in the area first!
ww9 and I had a great time and this was a cache we located.
Very nice hide!

*Gembrook Scout Awards Ceremony Adventure #9*
I had an awards ceremony for Scouts Victoria in Gembrook. I don't get to this side of town very often, so of course I'm going to pick up a few caches.
The poor rock isn't the only thing slightly mistreated here... I felt compelled to pick up several handfuls of trash left here.
Thanks heaps, Maggies Lens!

I started working on qualifying for "The Helen D'Amico Challenge (a 365 day streak challenge)" (GC873NG) at the end of last year. So of course by working on that challenge I have slowly progressed filling in my "Finds by Found Date" calendar.
I have always had more find dates in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar than my "Finds by Found Date." However, after working on this challenge that was no longer the case. In order to balance the two I decided to try and focus on finding some caches that would close off some of the gaps I have in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar. So today I decided to come out to try and find this one, as I needed to find a cache hidden on the 07th of December.
I really enjoyed checking out Dewey, and reading all the messages on the rocks. I really wish I would have gotten out here during the daylight, so I could have read a bit more, but I enjoyed the area anyways. The hide was a little trickier than I thought and definitely had to get the right angle before I saw something that appeared to be a bit suspicious. However, it wasn't too long before the cache was in hand.
Thanks for keeping this one alive Pinkpiggy7. I think it is a really cool area, and it always nice to find a cache over a decade old, nice little bit of caching history. Thanks for the fun tonight and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The cache container was in good shape, the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Sims_family mum and dad were having a weekend away celebrating our wedding anniversary. Sims-family mum loves Earthcaches so we were drawn to this spot because of the nearby Earthcache and while here we couldn't leave without grabbing this one too.Unfortunately we misplaced our note on everything we did for the weekend and have only just discovered some cache which we didn't log. Sorry for the extremely late log.Thank you Pinkpiggy7 for keeping this cache active
Attempted this one today, but Elephant Rock/carpark has been fenced off and muggles are working in the area.
Not sure if it can be accessed by another entrance, but Elephant Rock way is definitely not an option right now

Disabling cache due to illegal activities reported in the area, I don't want cachers to get caught up. Will monitor the situation.
Made a quick stop on the way to a friend's, found it tucked away in its home -TFTC
On a trip today and stopped past to check out the elephant rock. Very impressive!

A busy day, attempting to log more types than I ever have.
Mission accomplished, along with getting today's event organiser to said events.
After marvelling at the nearby artwork, I ducked around through the trees to find a very familiar container.
Thanks, Maggies_lens and Pinkpiggy7

I logged this today while out with 225182. He actually found it while I was looking further afield.

Have actually found this before but didn't realise I hadn't logged it. As we were back here today with someone else, took the opportunity to make sure it was signed. Thanks for the cache.
Great weather and a free Sunday so decided to go caching with some geo friends out East.
Wandered down from the earth cache to make this find.
Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the cache.

Today, buhfuhguh and I were out on another caching run, this time in the Upper Beaconsfield/Emerald region with a focus on passing by Cardinia Reservoir before the weather started to heat up and our battle plan was forced to change.
A very hot day for geocaching but still a lot of fun (and nothing that the Astra's air con couldn't handle) filled with plenty of fantastic finds along the way!
Once the GPS settled, the hint was kept in mind and a speedy find ensued.
Signed the log and managed to get a sweet PP7 pathtag - score!
Thanks to Maggies_lens for initially placing this cache and Pinkpiggy7 for keeping it going.

TFTC all involved. It took our GPS's a time to settle but in the end the Geosenses and hint helped us in find it.
After a brief search of the area the cache was located. It would be a nice area except for the dumped rubbish. Next to have a look at the earth cache. TFTC.

Didn't want to see this one disappear so we have adopted it, moved it by about 30 metres as the landscape has changed. It is now one of the large Pill containers given out at the St Arnaud Mega.
Hi Bunjil, I have sent a message to someone who knows the CO, please hold of with archiving this one to see if we can keep adopt it to keep it alive.
Thanks
Thanks
Hi Maggies_lens, I have sent you an email and message through the messaging system a few days ago, but trying here as well, I am interested in adopting this cache if you are unable to maintain it, it would be nice to keep it going rather then have it archived. Please contact me if interested. Thanks, Pinkpiggy7

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###
----------
Hi there Maggies_lens,
This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as a cache that **MAY** need some attention.
You may recall having received an automated email from Geocaching HQ which explained what you needed to do.
Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so I am having to take the next step and temporarily disable the cache - see here: [**Geocache Health Score.**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713)
**Can you please respond to this situation (or indicated your intention) within 14 days,** so others know exactly what is happening with this cache?
You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:
- Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 14 days). Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.
- If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

I distinctly dislike a DNF is my last for the day... Now I have to go find a smiley... Have msg CO as no finds since 30 June. Will report for maintenance if no activity in next two weeks.
pwala and myself had searched everywhere so DNF for us today. Possible that the cache is no longer there.
No luck for me at this one. I gave it a good search though it’s not an unusual scenario for me to fail to deliver the goods at one that appeared straightforward for earlier cachers! Tried the obvious spots, spread the net a bit wider but the cache wasn’t revealing itself today. Thanks anyway and I’m sure I’ll be back this way to try again in the future.
Found this one on a scenic journey back from something in the Dandenongs. Found the track fine but my geosense took a while to kick in even with the clue. I was about to give up when I spotted something. Of course - clue was accurate but my senses were off. I signed the log but may have dated it wrongly. The date on this log is accurate. Returned the cache a little bit better hidden.
The pachyderm has congratulations to the new Mr&Mrs Hussey on it with a note to not paint over until 19/4/19. So congratulations to whomever they are.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to stretch my legs.
