So I think I see it. Totally didnt wanna get wet. I will be back. With tools. For grabbing haha

28-Jun-24
The RATPAK became drowned rats with this one. Lots of fun and hidden very creatively. We put it back in a slightly easier spot than we had to retrieve it from

09-Jun-24
Defeated. Trying to find this after 200ml over the last week probably makes it harder.

25-May-24
Unless this lake has filled recently, this wasn't near the edge, it was in the pond itself. Didn't have a long net so waded in. TFTC

I'm in Wollongong after the Canberra geobash with Ronice88 to visit friends and family and collect a few caches. Ronice88 wanted to do my AdLab at the Innovation Campus. My son works at the Uni and worked on the 'Desert Rose' project so took some of Ronice88's friends on a tour of the campus. While there, I checked out access to this cache and we decided to collect it before the rain hit. We had to improvise a TOTT to retrieve the cache and then found the log to be a soggy mess. Photo taken and attached to Ronice88's log. This was a creative hide that deserves a favourite point.

05-Apr-24
What a great day! After a discovery tour of the Innovation Campus and local AdLab we headed here not really knowing what would greet us. Dodging rain drops as that east coast low hovers but clouds on the coast are speccy and at this point the rocks are dry for good grip. A few innovative TOTTS and a shallow paddle soon had the prize in hand! Unfortunately the log is soggy so maintenance required and a pic is attached. It's a 7 hour drive from home base at much higher altitudes so glad the GPS zeroed in. In the GONG with weirdobiker on a post Canberra geobash MEGA multi mission to see friends and of course find a few caches solved and a few others to boot. TFTC, the lure to explore and the FUN. A FAVE for this.

19-Jan-24
Couldnt get through it as high flood

05-Nov-23
Wow!, wow. What a cache. That took a while and effort. It was only because of the photo I found it. Log is soaked so got a photo of prove.

01-Jun-23
DNF for this one, trying to do some caches around the Wollongong Area, We came down from Newcastle for a short get away. We looked at all the likely spots you would/could hide a cache around near GZ, also looked at previous logs for any hints. . Ironbark.
Attempted to find this at 4:41PM on this Thursday the 1st of June in the year 2023

06-May-23
Don’t recommend this one unless your willing to go for a bit of a swim. Moved it a bit closer to rocks so it’s easier to reach. Log was soaked so here’s a photo for proof. TFTC

10-Apr-23
TFTC. 2nd time lucky and one of the kids getting wet. Glad we bought them

10-Apr-23
Took photo as unable to sign wet log

TFTC! 31 December 2022 7:16:39 am 4564

Very well done! Spotted nearly instantly! Had a tool for the job, but took a while to get it! Log is very wet! We tried to sign the best we could! Nearly 11 months of unloved on it too!

31-Jan-22
Wow that was a very clever and tricky one. However noticed something out of the ordinary that was actually the cache, very well done. TFTC!

06-Jan-22
best cache ever ! found with agp_on_toast

25-Dec-21
Not a terrain 4 but a very nice cache. Fav TFTC

04-Oct-21
Well that was frustrating but I was determined to find it. I thought that was what it would be. Very cool. TFTC!!!

11-Sep-21
Great cache, Thankyou!

10-Sep-21
We had lots of fun finding your magnificent geochache thank you.

29-Aug-21
It was my second time attempting this, and I was still looking in the wrong place!
My partner walked out to help and spotted it straight away.
How clever! A favourite point from us!
The lid wasn't on properly so when I unscrewed it water came pouring out.
Couldn't retrieve the log to sign, so I'll send a pic.
Thanks for the cache!
Very impressive!

22-Aug-21
Nice second find of the day! Didn’t have a spare log but definitely needs to be replaced very wet! TFTC

03-Aug-21
I was honestly tempted to just jump in, managed to get it without getting wet

09-May-21
In wollongong for the day and decide to find some geocaches while we were up here and this is by far the funniest geocache we have ever found.
Geomum found it and we couldn’t take a photo because it would give it away 100%
Geomum couldn’t open the cache so we put it back in its spot and off we went
TFTC

12-Apr-21
Didn’t even get wet!
Can’t say the same for the log
Needs a new zip lock bag

18-Mar-21
Brilliant TFTC

07-Feb-21

05-Jan-21
With wheatz ... Awesome.. cache.... Been here before but it was harder that time ti find

05-Dec-20
Not many muggles here on a lightly sprinkling Saturday afternoon so it was a good time to have a stab at this one. Once at GZ the geokid spotted it. Wow! Never seen a cache like it. Gets a favourite point for the damn good innovation involved. couldn't get the log out. If the next cacher brings some tweezers that would come in handy. TFTC ironbark!

27-Nov-20
So creative!! Loved this one! Found with jackyboiii93

24-Nov-20
Well well well. It has taken me 3yrs of looking at this frown on my map but FINALLY I can turn it upside down! I have not searched for this cache since 2017 as i thought i could never find it but my geo senses must have gotten a lot better because as soon as I got to GZ I knew where to look. This cache has driven me mad numerous times. I've even had security stop me whilst searching previously. All I can say is Dam you Ironbark and take ya favourite point you son of a... TFTC!!!!

26-Oct-20
I was in the area and came by to pick up another cache that has been on my map for a while. Even though it was the middle of the day, it was really quiet around here with only one or two on lookers. I found the very clever cache and made the retrieval, this is defiantly a first of its kind for me! I signed the log and placed it right back where I found it. Thank you!

06-Oct-20
Will return, getting dark.

04-Oct-20
Nice and quiet here on a Sunday. With accurate coords, we couldn't help making a quick find. A damn great cache. We've never seen one like this before. Definitely a FP
Good work Ironbark, TFTC

22-Aug-20
This is one of the coolest caches I've ever found! Very clever

30-Jun-20
Second time trying this one and we found it! Such a clever hide, we loved it!

24-Mar-20
I went prepared with my aqua shoes but did not need them. The spoiler photos helped and I knew what I was looking for.

22-Mar-20
On a quick trip away, decided to grab a few random cache's... Wow what a fantastic one to find, was almost going to give up. But something caught our eye, definitely outside the square
A favourite point from us
Tftc

22-Dec-19
No good this time

27-Aug-19
Visiting the Space Science Centre nearby and saw this one not too far away. Was concerned d/t rating might mean this would be in achievable but it no was a quick find & not too tricky to retrieve. Cleverly designed cache Ironbark and a fun hide. TFTC xo

29-Jul-19
I did attempted this cache last year in the nighr when instaling an equipment here. Did not succeed. Today I tried again during the lunch break and had CIH in few seconds.

The logbook was quite wet, so I placed a new waterproof one in ziplock bag in.

12-Jul-19
Found during the 2019 Gong Mega signed the cache DSD thanks for the cache and the adventure. Included is a random photo of my geocaching during the Mega.

10-Jul-19
Another highly recommended cache that we just had to have. It was dark by the time we got to GZ but that didn't deter us. We searched the obvious places and then I had an outside thought and looked around. Well now, that's interesting. Bingo, cache! Great hide. I love it. We signed and got out of there before the thing that was rustling in the bushes got any closer. Tftc from team Jeje.

08-Jul-19
Wow, that's awesome. So well done and so creative. Loved it. Fav point from us TFTC

08-Jul-19
Fantastic hide absolutely loved this and the thought put in. Fave point from me. Tftc

07-Jul-19
Now this cache was definitely one of the highlights of this trip for me!
I initially didn't even want to come attempt this after seeing the rating and reading the description, but after mentioning it to DSD he decided we should check it out regardless!

So we did just that, and lucky for it being a Sunday the place was completely dead without a soul in sight. Would be hard to find this with people around given how long we spent here, we must of looked crazy!

After a long and unsuccessful search we called in a PAF. A hint was given and we soon realised we weren't trying hard enough.....

So we upped the antics a bit and soon the cache was found and retrieved! Wow now that is a crazy and brave hide. Haven't seen many like that at all before, if any...?

100% a favourite point from me, very very well done Ironbark, I am sure this will become a popular cache if it can be maintained well!

07-Jul-19
1:49:00 PM:
No luck finding this cache.
had a thought before we read the cache details then thought better.. didn't attempt.

07-Jul-19
Found today with Injeanious. We are over visiting from New Zealand for the Wollongong MEGA event and are really enjoying some of the great local caches. We came in the dark on a Sunday evening, lots of scary noises happening, we searched and searched some more before spying something that wasn't quite right. I didn't really want to put my hand in there but I came up with the cache, so it was worth it! TFTC!

Found with Firesafe while attending to OZ Geomuster 2019 - Mega Event. A great weekend with many caches found. This was a bit iof a challenge but we got there in the end. Fantastic cache, worth the effort and a favourite.Big Grin

Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache.

TFTC
Cheers and Happy Hunting

Spending the day around Wollongong for the Oz Geomuster doing the lab caches and whereigo. TFTC

We looked at that a couple of times but didn't think it was it but it was

02-Jun-19
This was one of our first premium caches and boy was it a doosey.

25-May-19
Checked today and a bit of moisture has penetrated the container and the log is a bit wet.
Replaced with new log and clip lock bag and it is ready to find and sign.
The mud in this neck of the woods with no rain for a while is smelly but the water is clear and the cache is visible.
Happy hunting.

Ironbark.

Off on another geocaching adventure today with seemyshell, after hiding a geocache at an amazing location, we stopped in here to make a find. Reading the description I decided to make a quick wardrobe change and was glad I did. Upon arriving at GZ I noticed something slightly out of place but questioned it for a bit before deciding to go in after it. Bingo!

Sadly the logbook was not only impossible to write on, there was no way possible to get it out! So instead, please find the attached photo to prove we found it...

When a world renowned Geocaching Vlogger comes to town, you have to take them to great caches. I knew this one was good due to the Favorites etc.
upon getting to GZ, NoTomorrow spotted something a little odd, and soon had the CIH.
Log is totally wet and not sign-able. Photo for the CO if required.
Cheers
Seemyshell

PS- have a Favorite point for cache creativity.

04-Sep-18
Thanks for the pic Anamastasia. Now I see why the moisture has violated the container.
The tube has been pulled out rather than the lid removed.
Thought araldite was stronger than that.
Will maintain in near future but still good to go.

Ironbark.

11-Aug-18
A great find by my daring nephew, willing to get his feet wet. Log needs attention so we took a pic Smile tftc.

10-Jul-18
On a trip down south we had a bit of list and packed various items to assist. In this case our waders. Being uni break it seemed a good time to try plus on reading some other logs had another similar tool. A bit of fun getting and spotting this one while not stirring up the water.TFTC

24-Feb-18
Gotcha this time !!
I returned here today on my forth visit to hopefully find this sneeky little bugger,I arrived early morning there was no wind and now the water was clear,I soon spotted something odd, well not really, that camo is just awesome !!!
On my last visit here I was neck deep searching around but today no more then ankle deep and I had the cache....you bewty !!!
Getting to the log was just as much fun as finding the cache but unfortunatly once in the log is quite damp,I managed to get some ink on there but may need a check.
Such an dam awesome cache, well worth a fav point
Thanks Ironbark for the dam cache Smile

26-Jan-18
I attemped this cache a few weeks back when there an electrical storm going on,I couldnt see through the waves on the surface so left it for another day.....today maybe??
I returned again for another attempt after attending the nearby event.
The water was just as merky as last time and I still couldnt see much past the rocks,I stripped down and jumped in,I had a good feel around with my hands and feet but I was just stiring up the bottom making things worse,
Ill keep dropping in and trying, thanks for the challenge
Cheers !!

OCWF. Mels log says it all. The brave one lays hands on it first! Forgot to log this one. TFTC

30-Sep-17
I can finally turn this frown upside down!

After a workout at the ICHealth, I figured I'd give this one another shot. I'll give you all a warning.. . Watch where you step! Not all the rocks are stable. I ended up knee deep in pond muck on the wrong side of the rocks Wink

That said, I had a look on the other side and the water was remarkably clear today. And I spotted something that looked just a little bit like it was trying to hide in plain sight... a foot on a rock in the water and a careful reach and what do you know- a pretty neat, if slimy, bit of camo! Log signed and camo placed back where I found it! TFTC!

24-Sep-17
A great team effort today, after the CITO, and with my trusty picker-upperer this cache was soon retrieved.

Great work Ironbark!

24-Sep-17
I know that I have tried for this one a couple of times, but it seems that I hadn't logged those DNF's (2015 was the second time). A team effort worked this time for the craftily disguised cache. I'm pretty sure that it was not visible the other times I had looked. By 'anchoring' Noodles we were able to retrieve it without getting more than a hand wet - good luck otherwise!
The log sheet was only slightly damp, and the coordinates were GREAT, but unable to fit a CSM in the container.
Will add a bookmark for the Challenging Cache elective #4 (tho I had JUST achieved the x 400 that was required to pass that!

After the CITO down the road a few of us came here to try for this one. It's been on my radar for a long time but always sounded too tricky. We had some tools useful for CITO which turned out to be very helpful here too and with some teamwork we soon had the clever cache in hand. TFTC!

24-Sep-17
I have attempted to find this one a few times before without any luck at all.
Today after the CITO I asked a few others of they'd like to have another go at it. The CO also came along to watch.
Even better one of the others had a useful tool to help retrieve the cache.
With the tool in hand, and Cookie holding onto my other arm to prevent me falling in i managed to retrieve the cache for the group.
Very well constructed, but almost invisible in turbid water.
Thanks for the cache.

07-Aug-17
Was just looking for about 15mins when a security guard was called over to tell me to leave. He said it was inclosed lands and that I was not allowed to be there if I wasn't student or staf

15-Jul-17
Another DNF so went back yesterday, lifted it out and checked it. To my surprise the log is dry as a bone, thought it may have been damp, so placed back in position and went back to work looking like a fluffy duck.
Those bull rushes certainly stick to you when in seed.
Didn't even get wet but I am sure most will have to.
At the moment the cache sticks out like the proverbials, you can't miss it. Or can you.

Ironbark.

15-Jul-17
Tftc. Been meaning to get out to this one . Great hide. At the time I had no idea. But with a closer look. It really did stand out in the water!!

13-Jul-17
This geocache was a bit annoying as my hole arm got wet and my sleeve too. And to top it of there was some weird stuff in the weeds and it stuck to me. When I finished with this cache I was a wet fluffy chicken!!

Anyways TFTC

09-Jul-17
New cache is finally made so went to put it in today and the water was very clear and to my surprise the original was sitting right where it should be, camo in tact.
Didn't get it out as the water was very cold
So off I went, now with a spare for next time.
If you don't want to get wet there are other options if the water is clear. Today it really stood out form it surroundings.
Happy hunting.

23-May-17
Struggling to find the type of container I normally use but it will be in place 24 hours after I find one. That's how long it takes the glue to dry. Hopefully this weekend.

25-Apr-17
Going to take this one off line for the time being.
Went for a look today and the reeds have grown around where the cache is. Probably still there but just too difficult. Will replace and get the old one when the weeds die off during winter.

Ironbark.

15-Apr-17
Plenty of time to poke and prod, but no success in the end

17-Jan-17
Ha this time I press the right button

16-Jan-17
Having spoken to the previous finder, they did not in fact find it but clicked the wrong button. Can the CO take a look at this one and see if it is still there?

08-Jan-17
Kind of

30-Dec-16
Tried today but DNF. Will try again in a couple of days. Got soggy.

30-Dec-16
Went with some cachers and had a little wade in the pond but had difficulty seeing anything in the water. Will come back better equip Smile

12-Jan-16
Geokiddies were at the nearby science centre doing a crystals/ice cream making workshop, so I headed out for little geocaching. Really good hide - so glad I didn't have to feel under too many slimy rocks before finding the cache. TFTC.

28-Dec-15
Luckily, being between Christmas and New Year, the area was totally abandoned at approx 4:30 when I got there. Unluckily, despite the time of year it was unusually cold, with a brisk wind. It didn't take me long being was deep before I started shaking with cold, and was contemplated calling it a day - but wait what did I just feel - w00t!

Loved the cache and am glad that you are keeping it maintained Smile

20-Dec-15
All replaced and back up and running. Go get it with little more camo this time

Ironbark.

20-Dec-15
This one has been on the “one day list” since first published four years ago but it was either too hard, too cold or, after attempting it for over an hour in perfect conditions last weekend, had the CO confirm it was indeed gone however he would try replace it within 24 hours. As soon as the re-enabled notification beep came through, I was out the door, quickly spotting something that was not there last week (had become very familiar with the area by this stage) and signed a fresh log 20 minutes after it was enabled. Could have waited for the quick find to tick off an empty calendar date however its long unfound status was enough of a drawcard towards another challenge cache to treat it as a FTF. Thanks Ironbark!

19-Dec-15
After a recent DNF went for a look and yes this time it has again been pilfered so picked up a new container on the way home and spent the arvo manufacturing a new cache. With some luck it will be back in tomorrow just need to find an anchor, everything else is done. 24 hour turn around.

Ironbark.

13-Dec-15
Tried this one this morning with some fun wading in and round the rocks. Unfortunately though, despite being armed with some intel from previous finders, and with good visibility down to about 40-50cm, the search ended up fruitless. Sad
Cache owner might want to check up on the availability of this one?

22-Aug-15
We had a day cycling from Bulli to Wollongong and return. It's now time to log my finds.
I am working towards my 3000th find and today's effort has reduced my remaining total from 46 to 27.
Lets report the DNF's first and I can work on the found caches later.
This was a amazing spot and we tried twice (going south and later north). The Northern side is covered with a layer of algie that you can't see through and moving some aside didn't provide anything that could be called a cache. On the southern side we found the tail of a dying fish locked in between 2 rocks. Might need to consider the health hazard for this location.
Maybe another day.

30-May-15
Finally got a chance to grab this one. Ben waiting for warm weather and had to do some work at IC on the weekend so no people around. I came straight from the gym so was in shorts. .another plus. No underwear. My jumper got wet though...

15-May-15
Out with Paegle around 7:00pm

New torch spotted the beauty sitting just out of reach.
JUST THAT LITTLE BIT DEEPER THAN GUMBOOT HEIGHT

Without a moments hesitation, I was down to underwear fishing the cache from it's depths

Yeehaww. TFTC

In fact - I'll add this to the favourite list! Definitely a different experience and daring for it's location

After meeting the CO at the CITO today he encouraged snoopy and I to go find his cache. He assured us we would be see it but unfortunately all we could see was sludge and slime and we were probably being to girlie about it. After 30 minutes we gave up.

05-Mar-15
4 out of 4 dnf today,
Boo

This one was my first attempt at 4:30pm, so I will leave it for later on

05-Dec-14
Still work going on to the east but temp fence gone and work finished at GZ.
New cache installed so its back in business.
Good luck.

Ironbark.

18-Nov-14
They are still working around GZ but not for much longer as a window in that area seems to have opened. Will see if the new one can go in soon.

Ironbark.

10-Oct-14
Have a new cache sitting ready to go but there is work going on around the site and it is fenced for safety reasons.
I spoke to the workers and the fence will be moved along soon making the site exposed and safe and I will place the new cache in the original position as soon as they do, possibly in the next few days.
Hope so.

Ironbark.

11-Aug-14
Went past and had a look and it seems to be missing or put back in the wrong spot. Have another ready to go but fencing has gone up all around area. Cache position is still accessible but will hold off placing the new one until I know what is going on.

Ironbark.

Tried to find this one with some help from the Leskenoonbs who found it recently but it did not appear to be where it was when they found it….is it possible it has floated away? Or am I just losing my touch? Razz Will keep my eye on this one!

17-Jun-14
Tftc getting wet and not being able to open the lid to sign log.

18-Mar-14
water was to dark to see it

11-Jan-14
Fun cache to capture. We were unable to open the log though so signed the other paperwork! TFTC

Was here on Friday but was going to a meeting so didn't think it was a great idea to wade into the pond.

10-Nov-13
FOUND IT!!! Unable to sign log however as the LID was unable to be removed! We took photos for evidence! THFTC totally awesome!
