This is the second time in the last week that a cache has bought us to a commemorative plate that seems to have been put too far back in the bush. I guess the whipe bank was clear originally. At least this one has been cleared around, the other one was completely covered by the council planted trees around it.Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for arranging this cache which has enhanced our enjoyment of the area.
Driving along the riverside this afternoon.Heatwave forecast 38 degrees,so some park n grab to keep us in the air conditioning of the car.Scenery is spectacular along this road.Tftc IndigoBlue1
We couldnt find this one today. Its very outgrown at the moment and a large snake skin nearby scared us away
We're at Jabour Park Grafton for a day or so, and decided on a drive up to Maclean, and driving back along the Lawrence Rd, we found your cache today 10 September 2023 1:49 pm , while enjoying another day in our beautiful countryside. TFTC Trainsport and IndigoBlue1
OMG, Found on my third attempt! I didn’t want to keep logging DNF’s here and have the cache health score decrease when it is my fault I can not look properly. The first two attempts I had taken the hint a little too literally. I saw a possible place today and thought surely I had checked there before. There it was, you little devil! Left a little duck because this one was not out for three! Signed the log, and added a smiley to my map at last! Thanks for checking on this one CO! A heart for a very good hide.
Gave the cache a good clean out and replaced the ID sticker which fell off when I picked it up.

Out today exploring the Scottish town of a Maclean and then heading over to Yamba.
This old tablet was hidden away with all the overgrowth. Cache found in good condition.

Council has recently cleared lantana, access to site is very good. I, however suck at locating micro geocache. Why does everyone say it is quick and easy? I’ll be back…
Here for a Lions District Convention with Geofriend, Heather. Found, no problem.
A quick trip to Grafton for some babysitting duties and came past here on our day visit to Brooms Head.
Thanks IndigoBlue1 for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 12475,
12Fieldtrip & I are having a geokid-free weekend away in the area. After lunch & caching around town, we headed out this way to drive along the river, enjoying the views & collecting smileys.
This poor old commemorative stone could do with some maintenance to make it more obvious to passing traffic. I'm guessing only geocachers know its here these days! Quick trip up the slope to find the cache, which is without a log. TFTC & insight into some history of this location.

Lantana Lantana Lantana. We went up one spot before deciding there was no getting through. We came back down and realised there was actually a better way. Cache found and we were on our way. TFTC
The log was so saturated we wrote our name on a leaf! Cache is difficult to access due to overgrown lantana. Nonetheless tftc
Spending a few days caching in and around Grafton tackling all the new caches that have placed. Many thanks for the cache and the tour around the lovely green countryside.
Stopped here for my 1 minute silence for Remembrance Day 11/11/20 at 11am. Logs wet tftcsl

While my wife went shopping, the lads and I hit the road for some exploring, continuing our Maclean expedition from yesterday. We managed 6 finds with a couple of GA's as well, for a great morning out.
A quick find after a little scramble. The log is damp, and pretty full too.... TFTC!

Found today while on a nice little caching trip around Maclean & Yamba! Had an awesome time

Yay first find for the day on my birthday caching day. Gorgeous spot. Log is a bit damp but otherwise in good order.Thank you
Yay! This was a previous DNF for us but saw it had been replaced so we came back for another go and got it this time!! TFTC
Found tyftc. Having a week caching our way from newcastle to brisbane. Find #1/1719
Maintenance of cache, new cache placed at locality, suspect muggles who have used this area as an access to the Quarry
Had to come back with hubby who eventually found it. Tricky to find as it has been a bit overgrown but we got there
I struggled up to GZ, my knees aren't that great! The GPS was telling me the cache was 4 metres into the lantana, so I looked further up the "track" and around the more obvious location without finding it. Not willing to battle the lantana which is threatening to take over this site, I went home empty handed.
Quick find spotted a likely spot as I did I approached and soon had cache in hand, signed and replaced TFTC
A quick scramble up hill for a quick find on a glorious sunny day, as we visit some back roads. TNLN SL TFTC
Love when the summer grass recedes and it makes getting to some caches so much easier. TFTC
Up I went then while admiring the monument I got beeped at by a group in a car, wonder if they knew what I was doing. Great hide. TFTC
Last time we were here the grass was a tad long for us. With a third person today we were brave and ventured up to GZ. Thanks Magpyre.
This was a fun cache with a short bush scramble and an effort to 'get there' was needed.
So with creaky knees and a dodgy back we ventured through the charming lantana and 'climbed' up and up to 'the monument' and then that was when our GPSs decided to go haywire, so after a discussion, a decision (a crook one in hindsight) and aimless wandering about we returned to our first 'obvious' GZ - and lo and behold there it was.
Enjoyed this cache. T4 bringing us here Magpyre.

Sorry today there was just to much grass and it is a high snake season, we will be back.
Another that I arrived at the hard way. Those lantanas are sticky little buggers

Logsheet was just a scrap of paper so replenished this cache with a fresh logsheet. Nice spot, clearing shrubbery has made GZ more accessible
I have a BIG milestone coming up and am needing to get the numbers just right for the correct week-end.
So a big day out caching is needed. I basically have gone from Maclean to Grafton to Casino to Lismore today for about 50 caches.
I found the first cache just before 6am and made the last find for the day just before 5pm.
Well here is a monument that I bet most locals do not know about but would drive past every day.
The places and things caches shows you.
Thanks for caches everyone.

Found with segfnjarah on a whirlwind and unplanned visit to Maclean. Enjoyed the climb!
Swellerfungus and I had been out on a fishing charter the day before and stayed overnight in Wooli before leaving this morning before sun-up to commence the drive back to Brisbane. We gradually made our way up the coast and Maclean was the next stop. Another good looking DT rating for us, so we backtracked out of town to make the grab. We were a bit unsure of the correct access point but once we made the decision the cache was located by Mr Fungus with the aid of his special ability.
while cycling with friends in this beautiful country,I manage to do some geocaching, tftc
Took the hard way up, explored the possibilities while ignoring the obvious, decided to check the Iphone app once more, and went back to the first site and scored a smiley after putting a little more energy into the hunt. Found the easy way back down, and am well satisfied with another find. Thanks for the fun, Magpyre
This one had evaded us on a previous trip but this time with our previous visit in mind we soon worked out where we had gone wrong and had the cache in hand and our name in the log. B careful as it can be slippery here. TFTC
Yea! Found two out of four today. The most difficult two out of fifty one found so far. No ticks, snakes or mozzies today, but plenty of prickly lantana to deal with. Log soaking wet. Dried it out in the sun whilst magpiecottage climed down to find new paper and pen. Thanks ftc.
Well technically, I let the 6' tall male cuz stroll through the waist tall grass & limber up the rock wall while I waited safely down below while he retrieved the cache. Ok, well I retrieved the cache log when he tossed it down to me, couldn't sign as the log was wet (sorry, I'm a visitor at the moment with no supplies otherwise I would have replaced). I then made a few attempts to toss the cache back up to cuz but when it's location is on the side of a steep hill, gravity to take effect. Cache kept falling back down. On 4th attempt, cache tossed effectively back up the hill for cuz to find in long tall grass without him slipping or cache tumbling back down to my feet. Yay us!!

Visiting from Newcastle, staying at Woolgoolga, headed up this way and found 14 today. Usually we are towing our caravan through here and wouldn't get the chance to go searching so it was fun exploring the district, managed to get up and down without slipping, TFTC Magpyre!!
Was too scared to search the first time on my own but found it easy when with a friend
The only hazard encounter were ticks and the cloud of mozzies that decided we were lunch!
Quickly signed the log and then bolted back to the car

OK this was a challenge... the way up was straight up or around and about. we took the around path... but then there was a dead tree in the way. I took the low option, Nabarlek took the high option and Griffo went way back... We got to the cache and found it easily. Getting the lid off proved more difficult though.
Log signed and then we headed back. Nabarlek and I took the straight down option and managed (surprisingly) to stay on our feet) Griffo didn't want to tumble with his arm in a cast so he went way way back and around.
The mossies were seriously hungry here and when we got back to the car we needed to do a fair bit of a jig and back slapping to stop them coming in with us. Then I remembered I had some RID in the car.... I also noticed a tick on my sock and Griffo found one too.
Thanks for the adventure...

By now thunder was getting closer and black clouds were all around. Fortunately a quick find because if it gets any darker we'll be lucky to find the cachin'RV let alone the harbour. TFTC Magpyre, nice hide.
Drove past this and walked back. Did not see the monument at all and was surprised to find it when I walked back. Possum left this one for me to get. Love the hide. Will give this a favourite. Thanks Maqpire
On our way to Sufers so have stopped to rest & Cache.
We took the backroad from Grafton its a lovely drive along the river bank.
Cache was quickly found, sent hubby up the bank, I stayed down & gave encouragement.
Thanks for placing the cache Magpyre

Lucky geohubby was with me, or I wouldn't have been successful retrieving this cache...like previous finder, I to didn't know this existed. ..tftc
The only hazard with this cache find was falling off the pushbike as I headed out of towne to seek a trio of caches along the riverside today
I rolled to a stop on a street corner and could not see any signs of a cache or why you would even hide one there [:o]
A bit of zooming in on the GPS display revealed the problem,
The scale was still showing 120m, not 12m
So I wandered the 100 odd metres to find the real GZ.
And there, towering over me, was THE OBELISK !! [:o]
I bet few people who drive along this road realise this is here [:o]
But I do now, and I wanted a closer look.
Not only because I couldn't read the plaque from road level,
but because the cache must be hidden nearby.
As short scramble up the steep hill through the long grass got me to the memorial.
Very interesting [^]
And in a likely place I found the cache
Also very interesting [:o]
A sneaky little hide [^]

Very peaceful spot over looking the river. First find by pegajenu teenager senior. She is very happy. Thank u
Very clever! We scrambled up and admired the view and whilst Mr. Herbz was reading the plaque Mrs. Herbz had a root around and discarded something which Mr.Herbz said "There it is!" And it was! TFTC.
Our car gps wanted us to turn into the little side street which we did and we scrambled up a reasonable slope there and worked our way towards GZ. We broke away some dead lantana to make it easier for those following and got to GZ and found the sneakily hidden cache. We then saw there was a quicker way up and down although a little steeper. Thanks for bringing us up to the monument that we certainly would have known nothing about if not for the cache. I bet a lot of locals don't know about it either. Glad you did Magpyre!
