After arriving in Israelite Bay for a camping/fishing trip we decided to go on the hunt for this one. Our gps had us looking in the wrong room but after a bit of a search it was very visible. Many people have been signing the log as a visitor book and think its a great idea. It would have been awesome to see the telegraph station in its day. The only disappointing part of finding this cache was the graffiti. Its sad that people feel the need to deface old buildings. We purchased a copy of "challenge in isolation" and enjoyed learning all about the Telegraph station and Israelite Bay on our stay. TFTC

Great spot. Cache was exposed and contents wet due to a crack in the lid of the container. We shifted it slighty to a hopefully drier spot. TFTC.

Scottlaws, you sure get around. I came down the Gora track from MT Ragged on the Balladonia Road a few days beforehand, but 10 K's in I gave up on all the 1st gear limestone outcrops. Would have taken me 5 hours to get there. But I came back a few days later by the much easier Israelite Bay track. So glad I did. What a fantastic little spot. The size of those ruins impressed me. Must have been some structure in its heyday. Anyway, I need to mention, do not go in for the prize at the bee hive. You will only come out disappointed and wont find the cache there either. So beware the hive. Thanks again for bringing me to another fantastic little place and TFTC.

We found this one under a newly arrived bee swarm. They were quite friendly so we retrieved it but we've moved it to the opposite side to save future searchers the problems bees can cause.

Great cache, great location

Found by accident with my group of fellow campers, they had gone into the building before me and I heard a racket and my husband saying something about Geocache.... my ears pricked and I was in like Flinn! Sure enough there's the cache that had been lying on the ground for all to see. Some guys of the group had no idea but saw the log book and promptly wrote in it before I had a chance to explain what it was so you'll see Fuzzy Wuzzy has written a note Wink Such a great spot for a cache with great camping, fishing, four wheel driving and awesome history! TFTC.... I've hidden it again so hopefully it will stay that way Smile

I haven't done a cache in quite a few years and we just stumbled onto this one, so...why not...a WA cache.

We had a VERY exciting trip out the next day after 24 hours of rain, they weren't puddles, they were LAKES Smile

Thanks!

Had a lot of fun getting here in the mud and over the lakes, some of which had water in. The road from Balladonia was just as bad as the reports I had heard of it, but we managed to get here OK.

The ruins were an absolute gem, and we all commented that they are wonderfully preserved, especially considering where they are, and that they have no roof or floor. Not many vandals make it down this way, I guess?

The cache was sitting in the fireplace, quite uncovered and had been like that for some time. I guess the sort of people who venture to this lonely part of the continent have better things to do than mindlessly vandalise other people’s property. Great to see [^].
(although I have only now realised that this is a relatively new cache, only being here 18 months)
We TN, but I put in a TFTC card. Cheers.

Before we left the area, we checked out the graves, the old cottage and the pier. Great stuff [^]. We’re now off up the coast, heading eventually for Eyre Bird Observatory.

Found it!! Israelite is a magnificent place

Found in the ruins, but not sure it is exactly where it was supposed to be, but left it in the same spot. A few people had found it by mistake and had written in it, including the rangers, and a couple who had been stranded there for 3 days! We were on our way to the Bilbunya Dunes and the Baxter Cliffs. (We made it safely home) Kids took a butterfly and a torch and we left a few toys and stickers. Thanks Smile

We were nearly overcome with excitement when we stopped less than a km away from the ruins for lunch with our group of 14, and our GPS showed a cache that appeared to be unfound! We almost had our first FTF, we could taste it! We left our friends and dashed over only to discover that we were in fact 3rd! We love this area of WA, we always feel so far away from all the people. Thanks for the cache....one day we will make our FTF!
