Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Five: Yarra RangesWeather: the first day without wind and a great afternoon. An interesting spot, Im glad that I stopped for this one. The main road goes to one lane due to structural damage close to here, but its an easy off/on if youre travelling towards Sassafras. The cache is in good shape and is an easy find. Thanks for putting it here Paul_the_Hippy.
Quick find in a quiet little bush spot, brrrr it's chilly up here today and crazy traffic I guess with school holidays. TFTC
Yesterday during our road-trip we had quite the amazing time, seeing wild koalas and traveling over 500 kilometers across the country. Today we woke up in Warragul and our plan was to get relatively close back to Melbourne, though it wasnt necessarily our destination. I had planned our trip to head a little further north before returning to the big city to visit three stashes which would help us with our Jasmer grid, and we werent really in a rush to make it back to the city. Our day was nonetheless quite busy and ended delightfully in [an STF](https://coord.info/GL1BXAH1P); but more on that later. As we continued on our trip, we visited the nearby village. The forests here are absolutely fantastically and unimaginably beautiful. We headed to the stash, and at GZ we found the lock & lock without issue. The logbook and container are both in good condition; we inked in our nick at 12:41 pm, making this our 7176th overall find. Thank you Paul_the_Hippy, for placing and maintaining your Revegetation - Fire for planting stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Wednesday while down under in Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant Myanmar! We snapped a photo and returned the stash as we found it, and appreciate the opportunity for a find and visiting another new location. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. For my own personal statistics; this is the ninety-ninth of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited.
Cheeky roadside stop to add this cache to today's finds! Thanks for placing it!
Came out here to walk down from Sassafras to Belgrave. We didn't take the route we wanted, but it was a very pleasant walk anyway. This cache was quickly found in good condition. Thanks Paul the Hippy for placing it here.
Found on the way home. Bit of a narrow road next to it where it was hard to turn out. Best to park on the main road and walk to itTFTC
Visiting the Dandenongs today and just happened to be nearby when we noticed this cache within striking distance from some of the rather twee tourist traps we were browsing in . Decided to bravely drive to GZ instead of walking from where we were parked. It was a somewhat rough track but there were other cars parked around GZ. Looked around a bit before spotting the hint object and the doc went in to collect it. Happy to have found at least one cache today! TFTC.
Quick easy find, tho we thought we were looking for a micro. Wed probably count this one as a small. Congratulations Adam and Bianca!
Out with my son doing his driver training as a 16 year so was a good excuse to get out in the hills and scoop up a few missed caches here and there. Parked up in the village and a quick wander to get this quick find. TFTC
I left home early to search out some caches on the way to work in The Basin.
This was my first find, a quick retrieve thanks to the good hint.
The container and log were in good condition, and the natural camouflage was quite effective.

Thanks for the adventure, fun whilst I was in the area. A nice trip, and the area nearby was full to the brim of caches. Chose this one, and set out on an adventure. A few minutes later, the cache had been found. Rearranged the camouflage to cover it a bit more, and had a fun time.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Paul_the_Hippy for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

went down today on our way to olinda, had fun finding the GC but the log was almost entirely destroyed there was a cute little pin swap, thanks for the great GC
Log is beyond salvageable! Totally destroyed. Suggest new air tight container or zip lock bag.
Nice easy find in a lovely spot, but the log is completely wet and destroyed and impossible to write on (tip for CO: these containers are not waterproof at all).

Log is sodden and destroyed. Will need to be replaced with a different kind of container (ie, a type that is waterproof).
Good hiding spot needs maintenance as is very damaged by water.. couldn’t log my name
This was a nice quick find on our travels today. Unfortunately, we didn't have any GC items with us as the log is sodden and it is impossible to separate the pages. Might need a new log if it doesn't dry out.
Good spot but defo still some spring moistness even 9n this 32 degree day. TFTC
A lot of time has past since this cache saw the light of day and a geocache visitor like me! Still here and happy! However my log is sodden from our wet spring . TFTC
On my own today trying to clear out some more of the DM series. Great to pick up these on the way. Nice easy pull in to make the easy find. Log book very very wet. Thank goodess for a stamp. Thanks for the cache.
found it pretty quick! Log book is soaked though so my sign might not be legible
Heading home from The Secret Garden, this was a handy road side grab. Impressive regrowth in 13 years. You’d never know this was once a pine plantation - appreciate the insight Paul_the_Hippy!
Unfortunately the new replacement log was quite soggy - not mush yet, but probably needs to be replaced again with a ziplock bag included this time.

I love it when the description and coordinates are spot on. Thanks Paul_the_Hippy
A nice easy find on our little trip away while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Gnome5580 made the find straight away and after fighting off all the ants that had taken up residence in the cache container she had the log signed and put away again in no time! TFTC!!
Cache was exactly as it said. Nice and easy. The ants were very annoyed that I was disturbing their work
Cache was in a very damp area . The log was still in okay condition very slightly damp though.

On our way to Sassafras from an Airbnb in Olinda. Smokey today from the fires, but lovely to be up in the hills nonetheless. Cheers for the cache and info about the area.
On our way back to the big smoke after a two day retreat, we stopped for a quick one. Not quite willing to face reality...
Quick and easy find, as it was rather exposed. We left it hidden better! Tftc, Paul_the_Hippy!

Found this a couple of months ago on our second attempt. Alluded us the first time for some reason, but we were up here for coffee and cakes at Proserpina Bakery so we attempted this again and located it this time. Thanks for the cache.
Replaced the cache with the CO's permission, funnily enough with the same sort of cache container without knowing beforehand. It was a quick easy exchange, the old one was filled with spiders webs, soggy paper and had a broken lid.
A quick find. Cache is in a bad state. I think the rain has got into it. Didn't sign, as we couldn't get the log out.

The Omega Empire
Out and about on a Friday arvo after knocking off early from work.
The container is missing the lid and the log is damp.
Cheers for the cache.

Parked nearby and wandered down the boggy ol' road to find this exactly where described.
Signed the log, visited a trackable. Thanks for the cache, Paul_the_Hippy - interesting to see the level of regrowth, vaguely recall the pine trees being here in the past.

Baby Tuba 1 logs second find for the day. Thinks maybe the container needs replacing-lid is missing. Thanks!
I’m trying to fill in some dates on my calendar so this one was today’s.
We were in Sassafras after morning walking group starting a big multi so after another walk we needed a park and grab before heading home for lunch.
Easy find and we added a new log as the old one was full.
Thanks Paul_the_Hippy

Nice easy find had to replace the log as it was full. Was out for a walk and started a multi and had an hour walk already with Geodog and now we all want to go home and have lunch. TFTC
Found this one pretty easy after visiting and shopping in Sassafras nice one!
