Happy caching

Almost forgot to log this one !
Was a good chance to catch up with the locals.

Soory, I have to advise that I failed to arrive at the event. We left home with the plan being to find the new Caches at Bundeena and pick up several others on our way south to the event. Unfortunately we decided upon arival and a failed attempt to find a Cache at Helensburgh in the heaviest of downpours with the reports indicating it would get worse that we would have to give up on this chance of meeting a lot of other Cachers. I hope those who do attend enjoy the evening. We look forward to other chances to meet fellow Cachers.

Yes we made it,had a flat tyre and were delayed for quite some time, again it was great to meet and greet, some new faces also. dropped off a fue GCs and TB.
As this event only comes around every 4 years so this was extra special. thanks again I.C.C for the event.

Well, Hooray I say Cool. All caching days on the calendar are now complete Big Grin.

Plus, a bonus souvenir!

Plenty of rain didn't deter everyone from coming together at the Golden Arches to celebrate this rare day on the caching calendar. The kids enjoyed themselves (but the playground was closed Sad) and once they had had enough off we went.

TFTE!

Great night. Nice to meet up with other like minded friends

29-Feb-12
I made it, albeit a little late. Mum and Dad were there with J&J with enough time to grab some dinner and a lift home.

29-Feb-12
I attended

29-Feb-12
Good turn out considering the weather.. Was good to catch up with everyone!

29-Feb-12
I was well worth the trip out in the rain tonight to meet up yet again with fellow cachers...

29-Feb-12
Due to the weather conditions I really hesitated to do the drive from Kiama to Wollongong. Then fait turned the table as my wife had toi be picked up from the train station and the daughters was promised a visit to the cholestterol corner!
Again a huge turnup for an event at this time of the day and under these circumstances!

Great to meet up with you, folks! I already logged, that I had my leap year already in 2011, but it was good fun, and the first found on such a special date! Driving here from Sydney was a bit challenging due to fog and extremely bad view. Picked Suparki12 up in Stanwell Park and off we went, after few DNF in Helensburgh. I guess, we parked straight on GZ, 1.8m away or so, and as we entered the nearby restaurant, in pouring rains, we met all the old friends, and others I only knew from reading good logs. Nice to exchange on a few special caches we loved to find or had some adventure with, or just far away we sought both independently, like The Lord of The Rings in Santa Monica.

Retrieved a few travel bugs, as I might go abroad, shortly... Will see what we do, certainly hope to share some good logs and drop them off, according to their wishes - and if they fit the cache.

Ja, und wiedermal ein paar Deutsche unter den Reisenden! Ihr koennt euch drauf verlassen, dass das Rennen weitergeht!

Thanks for the cach, mate, The Rats, for organizing - easy find!

It was great to put faces to the teams whose logs we had previously enjoyed as well as catching up with old friends once more.
We look forward to meeting up with you all again shortly.

Many thanks to the I.C.C for all their efforts in arranging this event.

29-Feb-12
Considering the weather conditions outside this was great turnout. Having completed my 366 day calendar earlier in the day this was an added bonus.

Theres no better place to keep the kids happy than at McDonalds and for the oldies to grab a coffee and catch up on caching adventures.

Happy 366th day caching

29-Feb-12
These get togethers are a great idea, listining to other cachers and sharing laughs. Shame the weather wasn't better but at least we had an indoor option.
Thanks to ICC and Rats for organising the event.

29-Feb-12
Sorry to sign and run. It's been a long week already. Hopefully next time we'll be able to stick around longer. Happy Leap Year all!

29-Feb-12
Thanks to the Rats and ICC for organising another memorable event. It was great catching up with all and listening to those great caching stories on what was a fairly rainy evening.

Thanks Steeba for the 366 Days Geocoin, on the day when I ticked off all the days of the year.

Happy Caching and hope to see you in the wild or at the next caching event.

Well, it certainly was lucky that we selected this location and not our usual haunt for an event cache, as I think we would have been washed away in Fairy Creek this evening! But at least Mr Rats is swift water trained (and I think Wilbert67 too). So they could have saved us!

When Krafty(Charlie) told me he wanted to hold the event at 292 I scoured Google Maps looking for a suitable location, and what a coincidence that this location just happens to be 292 Princes Highway Fairy Meadow!! Mind you I did eat dinner before coming to reduce the temptation of eating something for dinner that has little nutritional value Wink

With two Scout meetings on this evening it had to be a quick stop over for me 9along with Nighteez), but an essential one, as this is one of my last three days needed to complete my caching calendar. Thanks to Steeba for supplying me with a geocoin in anticipation of completing my calendar on Friday!

The usual story of catching up with old friends and meeting new faces that share in our (circle your preference) hobby/pass-time/sport/obsession.

See you all around the traps soon!

Cheers (as always)
Hoojar!

29-Feb-12
My first event cache! But alas, could not stay long as I had a hungry husband at home waiting for pizza Smile Great to put some faces to the names.

29-Feb-12
I am not too good at getting to these on time. Turned up a few years ago to one a day early then missed one completely and now I arrive for 7pm when it was a 6pm start. One day I will get one right. Caught up with the stragglers at 7pm and met some new faces of cachers that I had only read about. Nice to finally put some names to the faces. Of course it was good to catch up with the usual suspect who were still there on a very wet night. Thanks to ICC for organising this one as it would have been another 4 years to tick off the day if this was not on.

I once, during a blonde moment, wondered out loud on a rainy day “why can’t caching be done indoors?” Oh wait, this one was [^] and just as well as the weather wanted us to wait another four years to log a leap year cache. Good to see some new faces along with the familiar regulars. Hung around chatting for an hour, grabbed some dinner and headed home to catch up on logging a week’s worth of out-of-town caches… some in sunshine, but most in rain as well.

29-Feb-12
Well, this was a wet wet night. I came with Hoojar since we had some scouting business together. It was good to meet some folk again and some others anew.

Best wishes to all.

28-Feb-12
We'll be there but won't be able to stay long.

28-Feb-12
Good to see everyone again. Unfortunately we couldn't stay long as we had heaps to do but the kids were very happy they got to eat Maccas for dinner! (and bonus...Mrsexygirlkel didn't have any dishes to do when we got home Razz)

28-Feb-12
See you all there!

27-Feb-12

Getting dragged along by the folks Smile

14-Feb-12
Sad I really had this on my calendar, but now a dear work colleague has his farewell do the same night. Decisions decisions!!! But, sometimes (not often!) caching has to take 2nd place.

12-Feb-12
Along with Sc00t we will be attending. Looking forward to meeting fellow cachers that we only know by name.

The Arkaroo has had his leap year already last year, in 2011! However, never sought a stash on a twentyninth of february. Sounds good to me having a get-together during the week, as the week ends are always busy! If nothing is on call, I will be there to catch up with friends I haven't met since long or only know electronically!

How I spoiled my leap year? Well, I took a flight on new year's eve 2011 from Oz, slept a night and found myself on new year's eve 2011 in Texas. That sums up to 366 days in 2011 - and on the way back, I skipped one day in 2012 - the 8th of january was simply not existent for me! O Thank Heaven, Dr. Hackelstein!

05-Feb-12
Not going to wait another 4 years for the next one. Will be there Big Grin

03-Feb-12
The 29th February doesn't come around every year so we will take in this experience.

29-Jan-12

26-Jan-12
I'll be there in spirit!
