We stopped here today on our way out of Rotorua to Hamilton and took a couple of pics and we stepped up . . . . . it was quite early this morning when we were here and we had a good look and couldn't find the goodies anywhere?
Spent a few minutes looking but too busy for us looking suspicious - did find a smiley face magnet that could of been in it
It was a challenge alright. Feel very I uncomfortable climbing around such a prominent place and two passing schoolboys told us off for breaking tapu.
Lots of muscle cars out and about today and taking photos of statue, maybe it was a car rally. Nice spot for a break in between muggles.
Brisk walk from our B&B in nearby Summer St. Had to wait near GZ for the tourists to finish taking their photos at the statue, then moved in for a quick find. Discovered I'd lost my pen enroute so photo of log included. Found my pen when I walked back yay.

On a trip from Opotiki to New Plymouth and getting a few park & grabs on the way. Thanks for putting one here. I enjoyed the challenge.
Recently moved to auckland from the uk and have come away for a long weekend to rotorua.liked the statue alot and enjoyed the challenge.
20 April 2017 09:00. Dodging the packs of marauding tourists, I decided to beat them at their own game, and take pictures. Searching for the perfect angle, I spotted something of interest... TFTC.
I had to chuckle when I discovered the reason for the name of the cache. I hadn't read the helpful information in the description but I was able to quickly track down the treasure thanks to spot on coordinates.
Another awesome statue. Found this quick cache as our accomodation was just across the road. TFTC
Thanks for a quick find that got me out early to explore Rotorua. I'm from Canada and this is my first find in New Zealand. Cheers!
Today some sightseeing and caching in Rotorua.
This was a a beautiful, sunny day ... no rain - and mostly sunny !! I strolled over to ground zero . The coords are right on the mark.
The cache could already be seen from the footpath. So no problem ...and no challange.
The cache is in average condition and the log paper consits of several pieces. I took nothing, left nothing, and signed the log paper.
I carefully replaced the cache right back where we found it.
*thanks to G--2 for your cache*

Heading to the Bay, did a little detour to do the challenge. Walked up to GZ and there was a empty bus parked very near by with engine running. My thought was that at any moment a bus load of people are going to appear. Luckily, cache was found, log signed before anyone arrived to board the bus. Cheers.
Sweet little find for my first one! Love how you look like a complete weirdo just casually climbing a statue on the main road
Tftc. Nice easy find whilst staying over the road in Coachman Spa. Log is very tatty. Came out in several pieces.
Checked in to our hotel then saw this cache literally over the road so we ventured over in the dark to find it! A quick rummage around soon had the cache in hand and we signed the log and replaced it. Great place for a cache! Tftc
After checking in to our hotel, hubby (alaninwales) wanted to find a cache before bedtime so, seeing this one was just over the road we went, armed with a torch, to find it. He looked around while I took photos to fool the late night muggles! We duly signed the log and carefully replaced it where found. Tftc!
After we've seen Wai-O-Tapu our journey goes back to Rotorura. There we have enough time to find somes caches[:p]...
Thanks for showing this place and hidding the box. The box was not hidden[?], so we take a stone as camo.
Greetings from Germany!!!

This is an impressive statue. I saw him to the eyes, but did not laugh. Cache was to easy to find. TFTC
I went out for a 11K run this morning, but I stopped at this cache about 2K into it to make this find. It didn't take long for me to spot the container, thanks to the hint. Signed the log. TFTC!
Day #15 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
Today’s pleasant trip with mixed weather-conditions took me further up north from Tongariro National Park [:X] to Rotorua .
Had to say goodbye to ‘HIM’: Mount Ruapehu [8)]. Today he showed up again - with grey skies, but visible!
But I was also looking forward to visit the thermal highlight city [^] .
Of course there were some cool treasures hidden along the route, that I loved to pick up .
Ended up with 18 finds , including two great earth-caches [^], a cool, challenging virtual and several handsome traditional caches at the side of the road . Cool!
Managed to find this Cutie quite quickly ! It's neither on the north-side, nor does not contain a pen as mentioned in the listing... [B)] I guess time takes it's toll [:o)].
Hey - owners on the way up north and in Rotorua - you have cool caches [^] !
A big thanks [:X] to all Owners involved [^] for hiding and maintaining .
Cheers from Germany

Cool spot. From the angle I came on it looks like someone squatting in the bush. lol. Easy find. Log is in pieces. But found a spot to sign. Tftc
Quick find this afternoon with eltee291! Great statue! Very cool! Visiting from Victoria, BC, Canada. Staying in Rotorua tonight. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache!
Quickly found today with hingis20. Staying in Rotorua overnight so we are out and about sightseeing and getting a few caches? Awesome statue. Visiting NZ from Victoria, BC, Canada. TFTC
Anothee late night find while in town after quite a few call outs on my weekend on call. Found with livee_nz. We both put out hands in the right place at least once each without coming up with the cache before I found it (by feel). Cool hide. TFTC
I forgot to log my finds. Out with georunnermatt who kept getting call outs while we tried to cache on our way home. I put my hand in the right place a couple of times but Matt came up with the goods tftc!
Well we came we saw and we challenged this guy to give up this cache for us to sign ,after waiting for a couple of minutes for an answer with no reply we decided to look for the cache which he didnt seem to be to worried about as his interests seemed to be preoccupied in another direction, thanks for the placement and the smiley.

Had to get this one as I was on a wee jog past. Lots of bits of screwed up paper and no pencil, so unable to sign (had an emergency pen with me but making it work was MY challenge!) Have photo proof if required.. Up from Palmy for New Year. Enjoying a few days in Rotorua. Thanks for the find. It does need a little TLC.
Eeeh!!(tongue out!!!). Found this one in record time. Danny. Annie & Jax!! Dream team from South Africa. Love Rotorua.
First in Rotorua and only 100m from our motel. Visiting New Zealand for the first time and trying to fit in some caching. Tftc.
We spent the last few days of our honeymoon kicking back relaxing around Rotorua enjoying the activities and a cache's here and there.
We decided to stay an extra night than planned to do some more activities and to witness the rotorua markets.
Thanks for placing your cache, we thoroughly enjoyed hanging around the Rotorua area!

Pulled into the hotel car park for this - no one came running out so grabbed the cache and went on our merry way. TFTC
Pulled up in the hotel and took a look at the statue. After a few minutes searching the cache was located TFTC
Well you totally fooled us with this one. We read the title, and really did expect a challenging hide. But then we wondered, how is it only a D1.5? Yes, this all really happened. But when we got to GZ, all became clear. Actually a pretty quick find, and no one around. TFTH.
Nice hide! No challenges here today, very peaceful! Great place for a cache, love it. It's in good condition and the log is signed TFTC
Tried to get this one this afternoon. But it turns out there was a fire evacuation near by and the whole population on NZ here. So maybe later.
BlackBeard picked this one up for team BlackPearl in the dark with burgo78.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.
Visiting from Townsville with BlackPearl26 in tow.
Limited time meant finding the cache in the dark.
I expected a tough search but this was a quick find.
Log is full and we only just squeezed in.

After finding the cache in the rose park checked to see if any others were handy. And conveniently there was one on the walk back to the motel. A gorgeous spring day in Rotovegas! Tftc

Quick find. Though I struggled to get the log out of the container. Got there eventually. Tftc
Quite busy here today but easy enough to appear to simply be admiring the statue. TFTC.
In Rototura for work. After being stuck inside all day a colleague and I went out for some fresh and and to collect some caches.
My muggle colleague found this one!

Was a challenge for me, but not for our other team members, hadn't even got out and it was already found
Took a little while to find what we were looking for. I second that it felt totally weird climbing all over it! Tftc.
On the way home from a weekend away at the in laws. Left a little earlier so that I could get a few finds along the way, plus get a certain find for the souvenir that was up for grabs this weekend. I'm also working on a challeng so thought I'd grab a few extra caches that'll help for that too.
This cache was a back up for the last find, in case I DNF'd it, and a bonus was it was only a few hundred meters away. Wandered over here with the dog, and started the search. Took a small hunt to find, but eventually got there, so challenge completed. Thanks for the hide.

School holiday day out. Nice hide the pro 10yr old found it. Tftc a good challenge indeed
TFTC! Thank goodness I had the junior scoobydoos with me tonight, so I didn't look too dodgy loitering here in the semi dark. Probably took longer than it should have, but finally found the right hidey spot.
Found with purplegoosenz. I had no luck but wife went straight to it. Kids loved posing with warrior.
We spent quite a while here, exploring and taking photos of each other with the statue. Kids had a blast. Cache was easily found, great natural coverage. Tftc
Appreciate the hint . No idea what a V container was but challenge completed !!
Had a great time in Rotarua. Beautiful spot for caching. Great statue to wave us on our way to taupo
Just in town overnight, had a great day caching around this beautiful spot. Thankyou for the hide, easy find without any muggles around!!
Didn't find this one today. Lots of tourists around taking photos so it was hard to have a decent look. I'll come back another time.
Took me two tries to locate it... I still dunno what a V container is, but w/e.

Nice night mission to find this one. Logs were full so ive left sum more paper. TFTC
Enjoying a weekend in Rotorua catching up with friends and family. Out for an early morning walk before it was light and there were still a bus load of tourists being organised for their days activities in the front of the hotel. Had to do the "sit right there for a photo' trick......with a bit of subterfuge and stealth cache was soon in hand. Thanks for the cache...
Out for a spot of birthday caching while on holiday in Rotorua. This one was one that we just happened to be passing on our way to another cache, so we pulled up and jumped out of the car.
There were some muggles who had decided to take some photos of the challenge, so we did the same so as not to look too conspicuous. After all photos were taken, it was a quick check of possible locations and the cache was in hand. The log was signed and the cache replaced. Off to the next one.
