Found with Tassiegirl13.
We were out this way for a caching weekend and this was next on our list.
When we arrived at the park and saw a couple of cars in the parking lot we thought we might have to give this a miss as they would have to be using GZ.
But no they weren’t, they were down the other end doing some personal training. The person on the ground was working hard while the trainer ‘motivated’.
With them far enough away that was our motivation to get stuck in and start looking. After a quick search we soon came up with the cache.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Hi there Team Robins. We found your cache "Gun with a View" at 1:41:00 PM today.
This was our 18th cache find in a caching run of 19 Finds & 0 DNFs today. (So this now makes our find count 9390.)
[Blue]
Today we spent some time caching with Team Robins on a trek up to Toowoomba and back. We certainly chipped away at some more of the plentiful caches in the area.

Please excuse the boilerplate logs. It's really not an excuse but, we find it really difficult to craft individual logs when we do so many "similar" caches in a day.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent. (We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found it while having a girls day out caching with Lindy Rose & Blue Murano today, we had to make a return visit as there were muggles near where we worked out gz was, as thought we soon had cache in hand signed and were on our way.

Looked and looked but no joy for us.

As we surveyed the likely hide with some trepidation we realised that our stomachs were sending a message. We decided that this was a likely spot so Mrs.R prepared lunch while I walked over to find the cache - thankfully not where I thought it would be. TFTC.

15-Jun-14
Lunch and its only 2pm Mum is slipping she usually makes me wait until at least 3pm on caching days.

I made the find as she had forgot where it was. We enjoyed a stroll to the creek (Dalrymple Creek) with the geopuppies.

We arrived here just as the sun was dipping down below the horizon. We are en route to Toowoomba to pick up our new puppy in the morning. As we arrived in the car park we thought we'd be in for a long hunt but fortunately the arrow led us somewhere else and Mr. Herbz spotted it. TFTC Team Robins.

65 Km from Home
Our New Years Camping and Caching run.

We once searched for this cach4 with no info and no GPS, we were miles away from this relatively easy find.
Talk about bad timing, while we searched a 4x4 turned up to use the dump point, we waited but it didn’t look like it was going to be a quick operation so had to do a ‘bold’ replacement of the cache and head for the car. Oh dear, for mercy’s sake use chemicals in your cassette dunny (unlike this operator), by the time we got back to the car, which was now directly down wind, the air was so thick we could almost taste the stench. We hit the road as quickly as possible, got the windows down and grabbed a mouthful of mints each to try stave off the lingering smell.

We took nothing but shocking memories, we left nothing but footprints
The hide, the container and the log are all in good condition and ready for the next cacher and the stench should be gone by now.
Thanks for the cache Team Robins

On our way for a weekend camping and we couldn't resist finding a few caches along the way. we often stop at the servo across the way, and always some for the Allora Auctions on the June long weekend, but have never stopped in this little park! After having morning tea while waiting for the muggles to go away it was a quick find! Thanks for the nice rest stop!

Glad we had shade above while looking! Found with Kestalkeeper on our geocaching day away from kids!! TFTC

17-Aug-13
Probably wouldn't have taken as long if it had been on the gun. At least we might not have looked so suspicious poking and prodding about that. Muggles were coming and going and I reckon we were about 40 minutes before we got a real chance to search. Did use some of that time constructively though and empty the van loo at the dump point here. Thanks.

The last cache for us to find here in Allora, and an really enjoyable walk it was today, with lunch at the local cafe, a little shopping at the supermarket, and a beaut exploratory walk through the extensive park which had us finding 2 caches. Good hide here, so glad it wasn't on the gun [^] TFTC yet again, Team Robins Cool

Having found, and been frustrated by a few 'Micros' on 'guns' it was pleasant to have to use the GPSr to actually find where we had to look for this one on our way back home to Taree from EasterFest / Toowoomba.
While Frosty was going to look over the cannon I headed with the GPS to another spot, and soon had the cache, tho a Terrain rating of 2 might be a bit more appropriate.

Groan, not another micro on a gun Razz
Yes I do love the challenge, but always breathe a sigh of relief when the gun has a big fence all the way around it Big Grin
So this was more of a micro near a gun....
... much easier and a big relief when you are trying to head for somewhere to camp for the night, instead of spending hours poking around in every nook and cranny on some silly gun that hasn't been fired for years and is full of cobwebs and lots of old, smelly grease and passing people looking at you funny and banging your head on the barrel every time you stand up....
Oh! That's right this wasn't at all like that Big Grin
I'll give this cache a favourite point [^]

After searching for a nearby cache with no luck due to high muggle concentration we took a stroll over to this little one. The cache was quickly located and consequently signed as we watched some hippies get moved on by the council for camping in the park.

The church next to this one and the town in general contain alot of family history so is always nice to see caches placed in areas that hold personal value. Cheers for the hide.

9416 kms travelled in 21 days, one awesome eclipse observed near Mt Carbine in Northern Queensland and 712 cache finds, including a small handle of FTF's.

This was a trip I'd been planning for over 12 months with the main reason being to observe the solar eclipse on the morning of the 14th of November. I had decided to drive to Palm Cove and back, where my penthouse accommodation was located, while the rest of the family flew up and back. I love the drive and the unknown adventures that lay ahead; and I even think the last time I did one this big may have been for the previous eclipse in Australia which occurred over SA.

Apart from the great experiences, awesome scenery, and the characters met, the other reason to drive was to also do some serious caching, with the plan to stop at some power trails along the way including the Fruit Run and A.S. series near Stanthorpe on the way up and the Mid North Coast Wander series, just out of Port Macquarie, on the way back.

I had five days to travel each way with ten days in between spent in Palm Cove holidaying with my family. My route up took me from Melbourne to Tocumwal and up to Glenn Innes, through Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the coast road to Cairns while my route back was a bit more erratic. Heading from Cairns to Townsville then via Charters Towers to Rockhampton. From here it was through the amazing mining region to Roma then across to Dalby down through Stanthorpe (again) to Armidale, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Tocumwal and then home - phew.

Today I finished off the fruit run cache series in Stanthorpe and picked up a few other caches along the way before continuing north at about 1:00 pm, heading for Rockhampton. I got as far as Goomeri where I stayed the night.

I felt a bit stupid here after jumping the fence and searching all over the gun for 10 minutes before realising why there was a fence all around it and the entry gate was sealed closed. Because it wasn't there and I didn't read the GPS and cache page properly, just a bit too eager to make the find. I moved over to the actual GZ and quickly found the hide. Thanks Team Robins.

Nice and quiet here today. Quick find by Mr Parko before I had even got out the car.

Easy find... That's a big gun. But you will need to go to another level to find it. TFTC

03-Oct-12
How frustrating. After reading how easy it was by other cachers it took us ages! I said to my 7yo son who was attacked by magpies in the process..if it was me this is where id hide it. Not there. But if I'd looked properly...would have saved about 45 min. There it was after a second look. Aaagh!!! Great hide. Thanks!!!

On our way home we came through Allora with the caravan in tow. Picked out a few caches to do and this was one of them. A clever hide Team Robins. We'd both looked there and not seen it. It took a recheck of all the places we'd looked before I spotted it. Thanks for the cache in a nice little park with generous parking.
