Found! I believe the wind has moved it from its intended location, placed it back in a safer spot
Crustyvarmint and I set out for the day with our lunches packed and enthusiasm high. Well, it turned out to be not quite the successful day we had hoped for but Crusty graciously ensured that at least there were a couple of caches previously found by him that I could now find and log. This one was a quick find at the end of a hot, somewhat disappointing day out although our picnic lunch at the conclusion in a local reserve with the welcome shade of trees and fine company brightened the ending! As always thanks to Crusty for his unnerving patience with my inept sense of direction both driving and walking!
A quick easy park n grab; had to clear away the mass of spider web to get to it! TFTC ahomburg
Thanks for the cache Ahomburg, I had to make the trip down the line for a totally frivolous reason so I thought so as not to make it a wasted trip, I would pick up a cache or two . After a short search I realised the prize was on the ground. After signing the dotted line I placed the container in what I deduced was the intended location

As it was a warm and inviting night (well, as warm and inviting as Winter allows), I decided to grab another cache on the way home.
The availability of light being a problem, I quickly made a beeline for the obvious spots and had it signed and returned in short order.

After collecting a FTF and finding two lonely and DNFed caches nearby, this was a refreshingly quick find as I headed for home.
All in good condition.

Spent the morning sitting inside doing a course and figured the afternoon should be spent caching.

Found it. Had to use the hint for this one.
Good little walk today. Parked near DM power, walked up Hilton track to collect a cache from another series at the top of the hill, down a very steep (in some places) track to connect with coach road, collect a cache from there and then an easy walk along coach road and back to my car.
Got the heart pumping but not going to lie, I did want to give up half way up Hilton. Brutal for someone very out of condition
Thanks for the hide!

A delightful walk today, covering some tracks I had previously visited and others I was walking for the very first time.
A nice and easy one here, found in the first place I looked. Just the ticket for keeping the walk's momentum going. TFTC

Appreciate this small reprieve from the usual torture you love to inflict on us all. Cheers

I was very happy to see a straight forward find here today.
Muscles still tender from overdoing it yesterday.

It was about 7 years ago when I started this series of caches. At the time I had the intention of progressively finding them all but then *life-in-general* just seemed to get in the way. Even today I didn't really come out to look for this cache... I am attempting Oxfam's *Virtual Trailwalker*, a replacement for the cancelled 2020 event.
The virtual event allows you a month to walk a 100km (much easier) and you can walk wherever you choose. Just to make things more difficult for myself, I decided to walk the actual 2020 route... which is what I was doing as walked past this cache... and I wouldn't be a *proper cacher* if I hadn't stopped to find it. A nice quick find and I was back on my way... having walked mostly downhill from One Tree Hill, it was now *uphill all the way* to Olinda.
Thanks **ahomburg** for the cache... 7 years ago I probably said I will finish the series one day... and I will say it again... just don't hold your breath!

Heading home after work I stopped here to get this quick cache, it was getting pretty hot in the sun so it was a nice cache to get.
Found at 9:40 AM GAFF1.
As I got out of the car, the GPSr was pointing me to an area that head high ferns and grass - I was having none of that and saw a better option for a cache called "Power" and found it fairly quickly [^]
Thanks ahomburg

The other day it was pointed out to me in a Facebook post that was equal on top with OHC having found the most Ahomburg caches, I thought about that and then had to rectify the problem, so here I am finding more Ahomburg caches.
This was a nice easy one to stay the day, the compass was pointing one way but I figured that it would be somewhere else and it was.
**Thanks to ahomburg for placing this cache.**

Out doing some caches from my "on a rainy day list"
And today looked very wet! after finding the best place to park I made the short walk to Gz and stamped the log.
Cheers for the cache.

I was out for a somewhat leisurely Friday afternoon stroll, with around 2000 other trail walkers, when my name made an appearance in this logbook.
Smiles all round.
Thanks again, AHomburg.

Thanks again, AHomburg.
This area was just close enough to where I have church that I usually drove straight past it on my way for hiking after church.
Today I thought I really should look at this area, so I stopped here and did a loop along Ferndale/Kero Tin Hut/Clarke/Helen/Hilton. A very scenic hike, all up.
This cache was quickly found on applying to the hint. I guess I should have found it quickly enough considering the container without the hint... but I was looking a few metres off.
Thanks for the cache.

Attempting to do another chunk of the dm series this morning, found it hard to find a good starting point in this section so my walk was a loop that ended back at my car with not to much backtracking. This was a quick find in an interesting area, tftc!
Out caching with my buddy BonnyBlack. As we approached GZ he saw what was ahead , new exactly where to look and sure enough had it in his hands in seconds .
thanks ahomburg

We drove down from the road at Mt Dandenong - not one we have driven down before. I'd be pretty nervous living in this area. It's not like you are going to get much time to escape should a fire start from down below.
Anyhow back to the subject. Cache was found without any difficulty (other than a wandering GPS signal). I then gave two women walkers a bit of a fright as I emerged out of the bushes in front of them. hehe.

Out on my own today while Mr X is up in the warmth of Queensland. I have not done a walk here for such a long time and its such a lovely area. Parked the car close by and picked up this easy one before trekking on. Thanks ahomburg for bringing back to this wonderful area.

As part of our training for for the Oxfam Trailwalker event in April we did a return walk from the start of the Lyrebird Track to Olinda and back again. Hot, hilly and tiring but certainly a worthwhile training event. Being a group of five cachers we couldn't resist stopping for a few along the way. This was my ninth find of 11 and I walked right up to it and found it right away. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for this cache and the excellent DM series ahomburg and thanks to my fellow walkers and cachers Bend Sinister, robinyang, Lost and Found 79 and waferthin.

Spent the day walking from Ferntree Gully Picnic Group to Olinda as a training hike for Oxfam's trailwalker event. Geocaching Melbourne has four teams entered and there were five members who walked today in a blistering 36 degree temperatures.
We found this on the return hike back to Ferntree Gully. By this stage I was absolutely exhausted and a monster climb stood before us. Honestly can't remember much about this cache. I was in too much pain!

With the Oxfam Trailwalker rapidly approaching, a small group of us (Annoying Tarbit, BendSinister, waferthin, robinyang and myself) walked the leg from the bottom of the Lyrebird Track to Olinda and back. ~23km in total, over 40,000 steps... all on a 36 degree day. We did a spot of caching along the way to break it up.
This one was found on the way back to One Tree Hill. We had saved it as a quick welcome break before the horror up hill slog that awaited us. Really it delayed the inevitable, but getting a smiley surely puts a small spring in your step?
TFTC ahomburg!

Found while in tthe area for a chrissy concert. Came back the next day for a drive through the area. TFTC!
I actually had completely different plans for today, but a public transport failure around dawn meant that I that opted for a car ride and a further meander here; a trusty ongoing project I always have on standby. And, I thought, if I string enough of these caches together and maybe add a wrong turn or two I can call it trailwalker training! I parked nearby and started with this one. It was found quite quickly. Though I probably needed to consult the hint. Thanks ahomburg!
Oh gee. . We parked at the top for this one. I knew we would be in for a hard slog on the way back but we are out here ro excercise and be fit so onwards downhill we went. It Sucked a bit that there was another rd we could have taken but that would be easy wouldn't it.
Headed out to collect some caches today for my Caches Placed Calender Finds. Drove passed this on the way to DRNP #1 so headed back and got it (after convincing the kids.) There was one of 2 placed to hide and made a traditional find soon after. Thanks Adrian
First one ever (woot!) for the family after some forest misadventures searching for harder ones! Kids left a little something for whoever's next
Found this one whilst searching for the unloved nearby. Quick easy find
A quick find during a caching run with Jacko83. Thank you ahomburg for placing the caches in a beautiful location.
The weather looked promising today, so myself and Mudbrick headed out to Dandy ranges, rain, hail or shine. Sun was out most of the day and it was warm and humid amongst the mountain ashes and gigantic ferns. A great day all up and love this area!
Thanks ahomburg for a generous swagger of caches and places to visit - can't wait to return try knock out this whole series! All caches found in good condition and returned as found.

A quick and easy drive by while I was in the area. Thanks for bringing me here and thanks for the cache.
Found it. Lovely day for caching. Gps was all over the place but hint helped a lot. TFTC.

Decided to start on some of the DMs today, so once 88andy88 finished work, off we went. This was our second for the day. Nearby facility may have been playing with signal as GPSr (iphone) wouldn't settle. Had to resort to hint. TFTC ahomburg

Found on Sat 2nd May on a long trail run through the Dandenongs, love it out here - thanks for taking time to put caches way out here!
Light was starting to fade so we switched from hiking to drive-by caching. I think G' of GJMMelb had previously found this one, so lochb was leading the way as G' and I followed close behind (discussing Minecraft and the associated caches I think) so it was no surprise that lochb got to the cache first and immediately grabbed it from it's hide. TFTC
Found in the company of quiet1_au and GJMMelb. Drive-bys by now as we were running out of daylight. Of course there had to be two toy snakes in the container! TFTC
I had attempted a few times to get this cache, well over a year ago. Work was being completed at the substation and it blocked my path to the container. No such issue this time, tftc.
Such a cheeky little hide this one, loved it. Well thought out. The sub-station looks new or perhaps recently upgraded.
After grabbing a few new ones over Hampton area I then headed way over here to finish off the new Minecraft series which I found one of a couple of weeks ago.
After Slink & Dunko had to leave me after finding the Minecraft final I decided to do a few around the area before I headed home. This was nice and close to the road on my travels so stopped in for a nice easy find. It's been quite a while since I found some Meander caches.
Thanks ahomburg for the cache, the hunt and the fun.
