I was on way home from Eyre Peninsula and had to check on a cache. This one was nearby so I thought I'd try it. Gathered the numbers and followed the owners recent update but didn't find anything.Even took a photo which confirmed my thoughts.I'll be back.
Checken on cache today and it was missing AGAIN!!New bison in place in top of corner post at FZ final. Cheers and happy hunting Southern Cross Caching
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Juggled the numbers from the gates to get a likely looking GZ but unfortunately no cache was found.
Third day of the dynamic duos venture north. After completing the main aim of the trip yesterday it was time to head south, only ones we wanted before making Port Augusta were a trad in Quorn, just to show we'd been there, and an earthcache in Pichi Richi Park. Once in Port Augusta, eight caches on the must do list and an AdLab were done before checking into the accommodation. Continued caching until dark and found another 14 traditionals before dark and calling it a day.
Got the figures and headed over to GZ, Spent quite a while looking without any success. Rechecked our figures and did some more looking a little further from where out GZ was but still didn't find anything cachy. Read some logs and realised cache has been replaced at least a couple of times but much lower than the hint would indicate. Looked down low where we both had GZ but still didn't find a cache but did find what had probably been used to tether the cache as previous logs had indicated. Decided to leave another replacement, again tethered in a similar place as previous replacements.
For future searchers the hint should probably now read "wol" not "urvtug urycf".
Hope S&J approve, hope I've got the COs initials right.
Thanks to Southern Cross Caching for placing this cache on our playing field.
Cache #13920 for me.

By this time of the trip, we had lost the company of Micaparamedic as he had commitments but Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 and myself were making our way back to Victoria. After eventually working our what we needed and where we needed to be, we made this find although it wasn't where the hint suggested. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Finally home although not the way we wanted to be so time to catch up on some logging. We managed to find this without any problems once we re-worked our figures and the cache wasn't over 100km's away. The hint was incorrect but the find was easy. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
Found with ricklink as part of our 2022 South Australian Adventure.

Arrived from Whyalla with iluvtrekking and after setting up in the caravan park we headed out to cache. Simple multi and quick find. Thanks for the hide.
Having just had the car serviced, we made our way to GZ where we counted and calculated. At GZ the cache was found easily by Muggle Husband. This was a lovely simple multi with a final GZ no too far away.
I am not sure that i would prefer to be home intead but after 9 nights of 36 degree days and 25 degree nights in a tent i am going to like not putting up my accomation every night. quick find.
Mogni and myself went to the Northern Territory for a 10 day holiday. We drove 5478 km's in those 10 days. The plan was to go up the Sturt highway and then go via Ayers Rock, King's Canyon and then through to Alice Springs stopping at the gorges/chasm/gaps along the way. As you can expect nothing goes to plan. Day 1 Adelaide to Cooper Pedy, made it just before the Roxby Downs turn off and blow the side wall on the tire of the 4x4, 193 km detour just to get a tire and even then it was the second tire place that had the tire the correct size. We had camels come in to the campsite in Erldunda Roadhouse, they even left hoof prints 1/2 a foot from the tent, at King's Canyon we had dingo's come through the camp ground both nights we where there and at Alice springs we had a mouse move in under the tent in their campground. Some of the aboriginal towns we passed where in lock down because of covid 19 so no going in to get fuel there, that changed some plans. The floods where way worse up in Northern Territory than i realized. Some creeks/rivers i could see the debris over 2 meters from the river bed and down one 4x4 track it washed the road away completely, the hole was 3/4 the length of the 4x4 and over 6 foot deep. The temp was 33 to 36 for 9 of the 10 days and finally cooled down for the drive home. We got 7 different caches types in the N.T. plus every different cache size. It was a good trip but not the one we planned. To many of the roads in the N.T. where damaged and not repaired ( still closed ) so that cancelled plan A but that's just a excuse to come back isn't it. Come back and see what you missed last time when the roads are fixed. We came with 19 regular " geocaching size " containers and a milk crate of small containers by day 7 all the regulars where used as replaced caches and by day 8 the smalls where gone. It was the UV rays a lot more than the floods that killed the caches and almost all the log books where saved, the micro containers seemed to have constantly full log sheets so they where replaced too.

Sir_spectre and I went on a long overdue holiday to the Northern Territory. We had some great experiences and saw some amazing natural wonders. Not all went to plan - covid closures, flood effected roads, renovations, hot weather, some car troubles and not forgetting the huge jump in fuel costs
Any caches that needed repairs were fixed and numeous logs were replaced or added too.

Sebastbat took Jack and myself for a long drive... and we ended up at your cache
Quite surprised at how busy the major roads were, so got off the beaten track whenever we could
Seems the further north we went the more we wanted to go north, but all good things must come to an end sadly, so eventually we went home again! But we might just do it all again tomorrow
Returning to this previous twice dnf we looked back over the logs. Recently had been replaced "high in obvious spot" and then "mint tin at ground level"... but six months again had passed since a log of any kind Nothing high and obvious, and just leaf mulch and rubbish down low
Maybe they clean the rubbish from time to time, or maybe it rusted away
It's a nice little place, although the area next to it seems run down, so to help out and keep it in play we found one of those handy cache replacement caches from the YP trails and tied it down low where hopefully it may last a while for future cachers' pleasure!!!
Thanks for putting it out there and hopefully it can keep going for now Southern Cross Caching

Wherever we go caches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*

Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
Now our borders are open - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

The last day of the road trip and trouble at the first hurdle. I’m quite sure I’m in the right place, but it looks like Davidwazza’s replacement has gone missing, into the abyss or otherwise.
I’ve placed a replacement mint tin at ground level, and will message the CO to see if this is acceptable.

This weekend, I headed to Whyalla to catch up with a few other Geocachers and attempt some of the trails there. On Saturday, we targeted the FTF power trail from Whyalla to Iron Knob, and then spent the evening and the subsequent morning driving some of Whyalla's back tracks. On Sunday, I visited Cowleds Landing and back north, only to get severely bogged in one of Whyalla's clay pans. I then returned home via the August series.
Today, I travelled from Adelaide to Whyalla, making a few brief stops along the way. I needed to arrive at Port Augusta for the geocaching event, and after having dinner, I made the slow approach to Whyalla finding the geocaching trails along the old road, including *Port Augusta's First PT* series, arriving rather late.
I had originally come here and complete this multi-cache back on 28/09/2019, but left with a DNF. It sounds like the cache had always been there (?), but buried in the corner leaf litter. So back driving through Port Augusta today, I decided to make a stop at this one. I searched and searched some more, and still didn't have any luck, so made a PAF to the last finder. Yep, nothing tricky about where he left this, but unfortunately it is no longer there, likely gone to the abyss. I subsequently replaced the cache container in the same spot, and hoping that this one can survive. I've made a temporary hook around the container, until such time that the CO can inspect my new container. Thanks Southern Cross Caching for the cache placement.

Did the math. Wandered to the corner. Nothing in the obvious spot. After some searching found in litter on ground. After some repairs replaced it high in obvious spot.

With restrictions about to ease even further, I think we can safely enable our caches for people to start finding again. Please remember to practice safe hygiene measures while out an about, remain safe and most importantly, have fun.

Hello everyone, in these terrible times and with the current government directive for people to stay at home unless it’s essential. We’ve made a decision to take our caches off-line to stop temptation and encourage people to stay home. If this goes longer than the allowable 2 weeks period and geocaching hq decide to archive them, then so be it. But let’s hope this is over as soon as possible with as little damage as possible, so we can all get on with our lives this great game in the conditions we are accustomed to.
Cheers and stay safe and healthy,

Another perfect Winter day for a drive around while at Port Augusta.
After I tackled the winds and P A's 1st P.T I managed to find a few others as well.
Not many muggles around here today and mostly good quick finds.
There were workers in the area but not within site of GZ so it was a safe hide and find.

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Port Augusta to Coober Pedy and we visited at Woomera on the way. Interesting little town. In the morning we found some caches from Port Augusta and more caches logged on the way. next night we spent in the underground motel.

###Trip to the *Red Centre Experience* 2017###
Unfortunately, half of our team is home-based due to work commitment, the other half is lucky enough to be Alice Springs bound, in the company of Team Indiana08. Therefore, for a couple of weeks, our team will be attending some events and possibly finding the odd cache in different states.

Another nice easy multi in a park. Initially we were a bit worried about the proximity of the busy children's playground. But collecting the required information turned out to be at a safe distance. The final was quickly located, signed and returned without being noticed by any of the muggles nearby.

#6470 - 11:30; Day 7 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. After a night in Port Augusta, today's plan was to cache in and around Port Augusta and Stirling North before heading south towards Whyalla for a couple of nights and produced 88 finds along with only 4 DNFs. After a circuit around the back blocks of Stirling North we were now back in town collecting a few more. Reached the posted coords and gathered the required information. Did the calculations and then headed to GZ for a quick find. TFTC Southern Cross Caching
On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)

The answers for the new co-ordinates were easy to find and lead to the cache quickly. The taller team member retrieved the container and also had to replace it once it had been signed. Thanks to Southern Cross Caching for a well placed cache.
Found this one while on a day trip to Pt Augusta taking Mum to the Port Augusta Hospital for tests. It is a shame the place has fallen to ruin. Some quick calcs and short stroll and had the cache in hand. Thanks for the hide Southern Cross Caching.
Found by Mary & David at 0950. What a pity that the building isn't open, but you can see the beauty of the lines and shingles. A clever title. Our thanks to Southern Cross Caching.
Heading north so stopped for a cpl of cache in Porta Gutta.
We had the initial info from a previous trip, so was a quickish stop to find the cache. Nice gates, seems permanently closed though.

Thanks

Found it. Thought it was time we did some more caching as haven't done any since Sept 2015. TFTC
needed some help with this one cos my gps keeps cutting out here but can finally log this on ☺tftc
unfortunately i have not been able to find this on i live nearby and have looked on several occasions to no avail
A quick 'n' fun multi-cache
At the gate I soon had the numbers worked out and strolled over for a quick cache find
As easy as “Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame-seed bun.” [xx(]
Not that I was heading there any time soon
I'd rather have home cooked food 'n' stead !!

A nice place for a multi, a quick find for us today and we were off to the next, found with a car full on our SA road trip on the way around to Whyalla. thanks for the cache.
Found by The Empire with Snaphappy, Sully1 and wozzle68
We left Virginia, and found some caches on the way to Whyalla. The third most populous city in the Australian state of South Australia after Adelaide and Mount Gambier, Whyalla is full of caches! We cruised through Port Augusta on the way to the Power Trails on the road into Whyalla. Thanks for the cache.

Once I'd done the numbers, I walked straight to it, the hint being very helpful. TFTC

Had solved this before and with the park to myself it was a quick find, sign and rehide. Thanks for the multi in a nice little park.
Visited this cache previously, so needed to call CO today.
Found in a nano second after that
Many great memories of Homestead Park. Had a go at camel racing here one day back in the 80's & even competed against the then Mayor Joy Baluch. Fun times!

Numbers sourced, just needed the park to be empty. We will return now we know where to look.
This multi was simple to calculate and simple to find.
By the amount of cobwebs on the container we figured it hadn't been found for a while. I think the last log entry was in April so the spiders have certainly had a nice time here since then.
Thanks.

This was our 2nd cache find in a caching run of 2 Finds & 0 DNFs today.
We found it at 11:25 so this now makes our total find count 8366.

We have finished our 9 month Grey Nomad tour of Western Australia and are now staying in Port Augusta for a while before heading off to Murray Bridge to attend the "Oz Mega 2014 Murray Bridge" over Easter.
The weather was a little crappy today, so we thought that we would visit some caches that we had some difficulty with in the past. With this one we brought a step along to help with the extraction. Even so we twisted, wiggled and jiggled for quite some time before the pesky thing came loose. After making "it" a bit shorter we replaced the cache so that it wouldn't get so tangled up next time.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks Southern Cross Caching for the hunt today.

Did the counting, calculated the co-ords, found the spot - but no matter how we wiggled and jiggled the wire we just couldn't get the darn thing out.
We will return with a step, or something similar, soon.

Staying a few days in Port Augusta we decided to head out and about town on the GeoBikes today.
There was a group from a local care facility enjoy some time in the sun near GZ today but as we only had to do some counting we carried on, regardless whether they were paying any attention.
Then Mrs Felix stayed with the bikes and Mr Felix trekked off to find the clever cache. Shame the old history has disappeared. [xx(]

After completing our trek along the Googs Track and back through the Gawler Ranges, it was time to rack up some numbers in the Whyalla area - gee there are a lot of caches around here.
Spent the morning around Whyalla before heading north to Port Augusta and home. TFTC.
Thanks to the local Iron Triangle cachers for the hides. I still have more to find but may need another couple of days

I freely confess to having used Streetview before I left home. Glad I did as when I actually got here I found that the sign with the opening times has gone.......
A nice short multi done in the fading light, found the info on a ste that appears closed considering the poor state of repair then it was off to GZ and a quick find TFTC Southern Cross Caching
After just learning how to load my new GPS we were on the road to see what we could find with honeysucker in tow, (just in case we needed a hand). We managed to get to the park not a prob and found the area great. now as we are known for the ducks (short ass) in Whyalla grabbing this was going to be a challenge. Good thing we had Honeysucker with us lol. We signed the log and placed back. Now Ive had my first lesson with my new GPS we should be all good to get a whole lot more smiles. Thanx SXC.
Walked over from the nearby Maccas to work off the morning tea. gathered the data, calculated and short walk to GZ. TFTC
Shame that this place appears to be closed for the long haul. Maybe no funding and/or volunteers. Nearby park was very well maintained. SL TFTC
Every time I drive through PA, on my way to Perth from Sydney, I end up at this park for a bite to eat and to stop, revive, survive. How nice to find a cache now hidden here. SL #699 TFTC
