My sources tell me that it is probably gone, since they described the cache and locale in detail.
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

4639 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1140. When we arrived at gz an old sauce bottle was sighted with a piece of paper inside. after some more searching we came across a small black container with the log inside. We SL and placed part of the other piece of paper inside and re-hung the container. Tnx affy
Another great find while in the area on holiday today.
Thanks for setting up this cache.
Soon had the container found and log signed.

It took a few minutes to locate this cache. We saw an object on arrival but dismissed it as another piece of bush rubbish. We went back to it later and saw that it indeed was a pig but one which had suffered greatley from UV and rain - it was a shadow of its former self. Nearby was another container and on investigation, we found the logbook inside. After signing the book, we reassembled the caceh as best we could and placed it in very closeby location. Thanks for the cache affy.
Found by Mary & David, in company with pprass (signed as m & p), at 1650. "If pigs could fly" is an old expression, but this one's flying days are over. It is almost an ex-pig! Our second day on the FTF PT, and we had better results than yesterday. Our thanks to affy.
Found at 4:50 PM in the company of maccamob. We signed the log book as "M & P".
This flying pig is an ex flying pig, it is deceased, it is pushing up daisies
So many company takeovers - indicating that the price is over capitalised.
Thanks affy.

Day Seven of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747. Today we played around Point Lowly and Whyalla, grabbing a handful of caches on the way..
Like the plant next door, I doubt this pig will be doing much flying in the near future!
He is in pieces and probably needs a check (log is fine though)
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7689. Robmc and I headed to Point Lowly to have a look at the lighthouse and to collect caches on the way there and on the way back. Like the name of this series on Cuttlefish Drive. Rob explained why the series is Sepia Apama. We also collected a few interspersed with this series.
I am assuming that this was once a flying pig but it has disintegrated beyond all recognition. Log was full so have replaced log. Piggy needs urgent maintenance (unless of course it is supposed to be this way).

We used this cache as an chance to stop and stretch our legs while driving over to Goolwa. A short walk and we had the cache in hand. The camo is in need of repair and log is full. Thanks for the hide.
We are on our way to the Mega event at Stanthorpe but having left Adelaide we could not resist this diversion to pick up some of the caches around Whyalla. The temperature being in the high thirties we decided to do some of the coastal caches as well as some of the pipeline caches. Nicely done - we enjoyed finding this cache Thanks to affy for placing this cache.
Found on a geo trip to Whyalla, Port Augusta, Iron Baron, Kimba and other places with The White Dog Gang and Team Waldron. A great few days with lots of interesting caches. TFTC.

A quick find on a drive back to Whyalla from the conservation park. Thanks for the cache. Sorry to say it's the grossest pig I've ever seen.
Went for a short walk looking for this cache, geohubby said there it is and we had a laugh, looking a little worse for wear we signed and replaced him. Get a fav. TFTC
Loved the idea for the cache, the kids must get a laugh out if it. A very full log which was hard to write on made it a challenge to log this one.

Another stop and some history to the buildings we see as we drive past and a little more understanding of Whyalla's successes TFTC
Our first find for the day as we headed out of town (to sounds of Homer Simpson sing the spider pig song).

Another sad Australian story
Today, I took time out from my bike ride to find the 'commemorative' cache.
It took a few minutes but I finally spied the cache
Ha, ha, ha !!
Like the industry mentioned in the cache notes, the poor olde cache is 'rusting' away [:o]

Today was more of the FTF trail, the August trail and others while at Whyalla for a few days.
Not many muggles around and not many cachers here lately either.
Most co-ords were good which made them quicker to find.
The log sheet is very full, but I found a spot to log it.
Thanks for the cache affy,

South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
This is the beginning of the journey home, we really only had half a day caching before the driving began to take over. We drove from Whyalla to Peterborough doing what caches we could as we went. Everyone has done a great job of placing a great variety of caches and we had a great day.
Thanks.

Grabbed with Albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

I did not believe it when I saw this but loved it. This gets a favourite from us as it made us laugh. SL TFTC
It wasnt just Pig that were flying round our heads at this cache! Got out of there pretty quickly when we saw the big claws flying around. Left the pig safe and sound though. Found with Frankos 4 and Midgee 23
Well we certainly think pigs might fly. A quick driveby on this one to stretch the legs. As we were signing the log a couple of eagles/kestrels/hawks (whatever they were) were fighting one was squawking its head off as the other pinched its baby chick & flew off quite sad to witness. TFTC.
Nice cache, will have to take our bugs with us though. Tftc will look for more of your caches to see what else you have done thanks
Was going to place a couple of tb but the space was not available. Good hide though TFTC
Charlie really wanted to do this one and he wasn't disappointed.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Yakcm had dropped us back at the caravan park after a very pleasant few hours caching with plans to meet again this evening with moneydork to do a night cache. To fill in the time while we were waiting for it to get dark we decided to look for some more caches. We enjoyed reading the history on the cache page and it seems a shame that all that infrastructure put into place looks like it's just going to fall into disrepair. As for the cache the GPSr had us in the wrong location when we first started searching but once it settled it was soon pointing directly at the hide which seemed very fitting and we signed the log with a smile on our face.
Thanks affy for the cache, a favourite from us.

Found it tonight on our way home from doing 'Who Framed It' night cache. Dad thought we would like this so he pulled over on our way home and took us to it. We do like the container, but it seems like the pen has gone missing. TFTC.
Found easily enough and had a good giggle at the same time. Actually seen one just like it in the supermarket a few days later hmmmmm

Nice spot as well, must have driven passed here a thousand times not knowing.
Used own pen, just in case it would hurt.
