the bike lane along here has been completely demolished and all greenery destroyed
it could be months ... if ever ... before there is somewhere to replace caches
so I think it is time to let my little monsters rest in peace

7th find of the day out with Ozpokemasters and our geodogs. This was a very quick find our geo senses must be working well today. TFTC
Nalezeno v pohodě. Díky za kešku, pozdrav z České republiky.
Found at ease. Thanks for the cache, greetings from the Czech Republic.

Apparently the app doesn't update the coordinates in the waypoint section. But after reading logs we found it quickly a little further on. Tftc
Logged wrong one, previous log for 8 not 9. But found this one too! Nice new log book!!
nice new dry container ... container has also been returned to where it belongs
We parked at the end of Carl Place and made a quick find at GZ. The log book is soaked and needs to be replaced. We put our sticker on a blank page. TNLNSL TFTC
Found it opened & scattered. Log too wet to open so haven't completed. Hidden it again.
I have been staying on the Gold Coast for a week, and today came to Deagon to visit a mate. Whilst he was at work I borrow his bike and rode the Monster Series. It just so happened that I rode it in reverse order, no problem! A very enjoyable series on a nice flat bike track. Great fun!
Quick find.
Cheers

I set off yesterday to collect a few caches to bring my total to 700. After a magnificent walk from Boondall park to the water and back I realised the app I was using had stored my finds but not uploaded them. This morning, alas, the app was upgraded and all my finds deleted before uploading.
Headed out with KerriMG for an hour or so of GCing. So decide for a walk along Monster Lane. Pink is my favourite colour (just saying).
Out for a stroll & to collect some caches with Nikid1 today so we decided to find some more of the Monster Lane series.
This was our seventh cache of the series today. It was my turn to do some work & find the cache this time. After a false start I found the right spot & so wanted to take the cache container home - it would match my collection nicely.....
Left Baron the dachshund travel bug & he's been picked up already to continue on his journey.

All together I loved the monster lane. At first I was annoyed of the traffic noise in the beginning but on the bicycle way were less people so perfect conditions to find caches. I looked forward to walk an the ocean and it was so calm. On the other side there were so many people that it was not relaxing to find the caches especially because of the muggles around. The end of the walk was my favorite! Not many people, no cars and only relaxing with nice caches!
I walked around 30.000 steps which means circa 20 kilometers in 7 1/2 hours with 50 caches which I found. For the number of caches, the monster lane is really well maintained, only some caches are not in a good condition.
Thank you so much for the lovely day, the exercise and I also achieved with this round my 500th milestone!

Decided to have a go at this series. Tried to find as many as I could in one go. Awesome series! TFTC
Hi there barbbowman. We found your cache "Monster Lane 9...Mutant Maggots" at 11:07:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 11613.
[Blue]
Today was the day for a bike ride. We have been planning this for a while, but other things tended to crop up. Our plan was to attempt every other cache to the end, and then turn around and attempt the rest on our return trip. The cycle path was very busy today with quite a lot of track clearing works going on - so this may account for all our DNF's. (If the cache was within 2 metres of the edge of the path it has probably been mowed or whipper snippered into cache heaven.
We cycled 18.8km, today which was a bit of a stretch for Penny, and ended up logging 29 caches and DNF'd 5.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Another easy find because those mutant maggots were very exposed.... lucky they didn't 'fly' away Covered a bit now, cache good and dry. TFTC barbbowman
Mrs NZTravellers had been working in Brisbane and we decided to make a long weekend break out of the opportunity.
We selected our accommodation to enable us too specifically do this Dr Who series as we are avid fans. Miss NZTravellers was gutted at not being able to join us and wanted an INSTANT update when we did here favourite monster the Weeping Angels!!!!!
We hired a couple of bikes from the Shorncliffe township and headed out.
We really enjoyed the whole series with good sized caches and well maintained as we actually were the first to sign several newly replaced logs. All coordinates were spot on and any issues were always sorted with good hints.
A well maintained and fun series of caches a huge thanks to Barbbowman for setting this series up and maintaining it.

Another of my favourite Dr Who stories. I can remember watching this when I was a lot smaller (or maybe I should say younger) than I am now and I was very impressed with the glowing green disease that spread out from the mutant maggot bite sites. Hi-tech stuff (nearly as good as the green bubblewrap of the Wirrn, LOL!). I was looking forward to finding some mutant maggots today, but unfortunately they were not where they were supposed to be. Barb had a hunt around and found the container 12 m away from its normal hiding spot (where I had been searching). Not to worry, a container refresh and a nice new log for me to sign and Barb had the Mutant Maggots back in action. Thanks for the cache Barb
Find #388
Ahh... it seems this area has been inhabited by significant amounts of rain lately OR was it the Mutant Maggots sabotaging Monster Lane??/ Wasn't able to sign the log, but I do have photo evidence if this will suffice?
What does one do when not rostered on to slave away until late in the evening?? One caches!! Probably would have been beneficial/wise of one such cacher to actually look at the weather forecast prior to leaving on the adventure... oh well?? why break habit/tradition???
Began the infamous Monster Lane today... but didn't get too far due to lack of motivation.. Thanks for the outing Barbbowman.. And a special thanks for introducing me to the Dr Who Villains/Monsters

Making my way down the Monster Lane on a rare nightime raid. A quick and easy find. However, the contents and the log were so wet that there was actually a slimy film growing on the logbook cover. Perhaps this was intentional as part of the "maggot" theme? [xx(] I have to admit, the word "maggot" is my least favourite in all the English language. Thanks for the cache bb.
After completing more of the monster series we decided to head over to the entertainment centre.
We spent the morning out caching with Roostaman

Another perfect day for a quick ride on some of the Monster Lane with Di Morgan.
This one was soaking wet and we could not dry it fully. Just logged the soggy log.

Doing an odds up, evens back trek through the Monsters today, see how far I get...
The recent downpours have hit this cache, the cache has had water in it, and the log book is sodden.
Took bullet, left. Marble.

The poor cache was muddy and full of water inside. Even the the ziplock bag had half a cup in it. However the log is still usable. TFTC barbbowman.
Gotcha !!! Put Mrs Temingi on the plane to visit her sister in Melbourne as a thankyou for coming to the Mega. Now I've got a few days to run around caching and to visit my sister in Cooroy. So... a few more of the Monster Lane series were done on foot today . TFTC
Out for a day of bike riding to collect some more monsters. On to the second part of my ride today, still leapfrogging caches to make the ride easier.
The title of this one had me very nervous about what I was going to find. Luckily it wasn't scary at all.

A nice set of caches on the trail, and quick find on a quiet Sunday.
Wish I had a bike with me. My feet wouldn't hurt half as much, and I could have covered a heap more ground!
Found on a trip to OZ for the Stanthorpe MEGA. It is all about the numbers this trip, Ms KR decided to stay in NZ!
Thanks for the hide.

I set out today to get a bunch of caches to try and get close to the 2000 caches goal at mega. Good to get a few more of the monster lane caches ticked off too. Soooo hot out today but I soldiered on for a while. Didn't see any maggots, but found a cache . TFTC
Totalube needed to grab a few caches so that he could hit a milestone at the Mega. He put out the call for people to accompany him as he attacked The Lane. I borrowed a bicycle and joined him.
No maggots here, but there was a cache

Battling my last monster for day, I made my way along the path as the rain threatened with a few drops.
A quick find, all is sitting waiting for the next battle.
Thanks for the cache Barb, such a great trail!

Whilst heading to this one geo hubby was riding ahead and very almost ran over a lizard!! Pics attached!
At the previous cache (Monster Lane 10) a muggle informed us of a lizard further down the bikeway (yes the one which thinks I'm a tree enthusiast).
Gmccul rode ahead to the GZ. As I approached, I found her pulled up a few metres back. I took the corner and simontaneously Gmccul shouts to stop as I realise that the 10in stick which I was about to ride over was actually a Blue Tounge Lizard! Felt the bike trailer slide about as I came to a squealing holt.....I opened my eyes.....success, whilst only inches away the lizard lived to see another day. On another note, biggest skid marks I have ever left behind!
Back to the task at hand. Gmccul seemed to be in the right place this time around as it was quickly in her hands.

My three month Brisbane adventure has started. Day 27, Redcliffe.

Another quick find. So far great for kids! 4th on our list today. Mutant maggots? Barb can I have the name of your therapist? LOL ...
Recovered and returned, TFTC. First encounter with muggles who simply assumed I was stopping for a water break which in fairness I was, my phone just told me there was a cache nearby too!
Another one that was in view so we signed the log then gave it a good bit of cover.

Love all the tracks in the bush on the wrong side of the pathway...must admit that we helped make some of them
Part of the GC Posse team Kingkeylocksmiths, Marina25, L4MB, ammurphy6 & myself.
So, we (Marina25, L4MB, ammurphy6, Dihillman and myself) had been planning to tackle this series on bicycle for a while now and today was the day. We started at #2 and you can read there for more details about how the day started.
On to the next one and GZ once again easy to locate. We started looking around and I walked straight to it. That VSPOS made it clear. A quick find and we all signed the log. TFTC and the series Barbbowman.

Did some caching on bikes with Genyo today. We decided to take on the monster lane. What a fantastic series!
Arrived at GZ and found cache quickly. TFTC!

Followed my smartiephone compass and started the search. Nothing came up. Widened the area but nothing anywhere. Tried to follow the hint and reason it out when seeing the are but came out empty handed.
Some earlier log entries referred to a specific feature I started to look for and sure enough, quite a distance away from my original GZ there was something well suited - and right next to it also the container. [^]
All good here. TFTC, Barbbowman!

------A little bit more about the weekend------
I enjoyed a really great weekend of caching with Dawesy321.
A huge thanks for barbbowman for a fantastic series and maintaining the caches.
The highlights of the weekend were:
1. Running into rbcs and caching with them for a while.
2. Having a rainbow lorikeet fly out of a tree directly in front of me.
4. Chatting with the cache owner a few times.
5. Assisting the CO with a little cache maintenance along the way.
6. The strange conversations I overheard while waiting for muggles to leave GZ.
I could not recommend this series enough, it is definitely a stretch and well worth the effort!

Out and about on Monster Lane with my caching buddy 'DiamonJs' adding some smilies... I had heard about this series soon after my arrival in QLD, so when the opportunity arose & DiamonJs asked if I wanted some company, I thought 'Bingo'...

Nice & quiet today... Found this well hidden cache, stamped log & replaced...

Yep hint was right and I am glad I did not find any of the other things in there, maybe that is why Snap Happy made an easy find and I was glad to be out of there. TFTC
Be careful, if you look in the wrong spot, there is a spiky plant. And I was playing painting with sticks. We eventually found it. Thank you for the cache.
Booyah Found it!
Oops! The cache went flying as I accidentally kicked it out of the way not wanting to get my hands dirty.. except I hadn't realised I had sent it elsewhere for a few seconds! Placed the cache back where it belonged.. all good!
- - How awesome is my geo-husband (who usually has a 3 caches per day rule) ..When he said he would take me to Monster Lane I jumped at the chance! And we made it the whole way through starting from #1 (minus a few.)

Find #1250 at 11:50 with MissGeosie on our semi-regular ride down Monster Lane.
Back to avenge our previous DNF, we were armed with a note from the CO that, based on our previous logs, we were "not even close". So, we spent 10 minutes searching everywhere but where we were last time.
Eventually I decided to have another look "not even close", and found it right there, in seconds. I must have all but stood on it last time around! So much for "not even close"
Noted we weren't the first visitors today. Hmm, wonder if we'll bump into anyone else out here....
Thanks for the cache, barb bowman. No thanks for the misdirection, though

2 things struck me about this series today. Firstly how well planned and maintained all the caches are, and secondly how well hidden they all are. Not a single one sticking out or sloppily positioned, my fellow cachers have been very fastidious rehiding every single one. A real credit to those who came before me
Another quick cache to find and a nice seat to rest on whilst doing checking out the contents.
The great cache is in good order.
Fairy Mother and I thought that with all of the bush caching that we have been doing a bit of a city run would do us some good. After looking over the map and hearing a few runs mentioned in the forums/FaceBook we decided that 'Monster Lane' by 'barbbowman' in Brisbane was the perfect trail to grab.
Our goal was to walk and grab all of the city side of the trail and leave the beach side for another time. The reason for this was A) It was school holidays and Muggles would be congregating on the coast and B) We wanted to be able to move the next day! A good decision it was, as we met our goal and could just walk once at cache #35... We then cabbed it back to the Geo:Ute as our cached-out bodies were unable to get us there!
Thanks for the cache 'barbbowman'.

No joy for MissGeosie and me today. But we see someone had found it earlier. We will return.
Quick find, minimal muggles for a sunday morning!! Left bullet took no treasures, TFTC - Head ARF at 09:00
We did not find it. I looked in a bush and it was not there. Daddy looked behind a fence. Thank you for the hide.
This is our last day in Brisbane and we decided to revisit this series after our attempt 2 days ago. We finished with a total of 30, plus some other caches in between, mostly achieved on shanks pony. Bikes would have been much better but hey we did get the exercise and fresh air. Thanks again barbbowman.
Made this one harder than it needed to be, searching high and low, well ok, mostly low, before turning to see Freddo signing the log. Gee, thanks for telling me Thanks for another monster!
Out and about on the pushbikes grabbing some more of the monster lane series. A nice shady place to park while we grabbed the cache and signed the log. TFTC
